Importance of Hormone Testing for Women: Finding Hormonal Balance
Tumblr media
In today's fast-paced world, maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle has become a top priority for women of all ages. One crucial aspect of women's well-being is hormone balance. Hormones play a vital role in regulating various bodily functions, impacting everything from mood and energy levels to reproductive health and overall vitality. Hormone testing for women has emerged as an essential tool in identifying hormonal imbalances and providing targeted solutions for improved quality of life. In this blog, we'll delve into the significance of hormone testing, its benefits, and how easy it is to find hormone testing near you.
Understanding the Importance of Hormone Testing for Women
Hormones are chemical messengers that control various bodily functions. For women, hormonal balance is particularly crucial due to the intricate interplay of hormones during different life stages, including puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause. Fluctuations in hormones can lead to a wide range of health issues, including mood swings, fatigue, irregular periods, weight gain, and fertility problems.
Hormone testing enables women to get a comprehensive view of their hormonal health. By measuring hormone levels in the blood, saliva, or urine, healthcare professionals can identify any imbalances and tailor treatment plans to address specific needs effectively.
The Benefits of Hormone Testing for Women
2.1 Personalized Treatment Plans
One of the primary benefits of hormone testing for women is the ability to create personalized treatment plans. Every woman's hormonal makeup is unique, and what works for one may not work for another. Hormone testing allows healthcare providers to design tailored interventions that address individual hormone imbalances, leading to better outcomes.
2.2 Improved Emotional Well-being
Hormones can significantly impact a woman's emotional well-being. Imbalances in estrogen, progesterone, or thyroid hormones can cause mood swings, anxiety, and even depression. Through hormone testing, healthcare professionals can identify the root cause of emotional disturbances and recommend appropriate therapies or lifestyle adjustments.
2.3 Enhanced Energy Levels and Vitality
Fatigue and low energy levels are common complaints among women. Hormone testing can reveal imbalances that may be contributing to these issues, such as low thyroid function or adrenal fatigue. By addressing these imbalances, women can experience increased energy levels and improved overall vitality.
2.4 Support for Reproductive Health
For women planning to conceive or experiencing fertility challenges, hormone testing can be a valuable tool. Identifying hormonal imbalances can help healthcare providers develop strategies to support reproductive health, potentially increasing the chances of successful conception.
2.5 Early Detection of Hormonal Disorders
Tumblr media
The Convenience of Hormone Testing Near You
Nowadays, accessing hormone testing has become more convenient than ever. With the rise of healthcare advancements and telemedicine, finding hormone testing near you is just a few clicks away.
3.1 Local Healthcare Providers and Clinics
Many local healthcare providers and clinics offer hormone testing services. By searching online or reaching out to your primary care physician, you can find nearby facilities that provide hormone testing for women. Visiting a local clinic offers the advantage of in-person consultations with healthcare professionals who can guide you through the testing process and discuss the results in detail.
3.2 Online Hormone Testing Services
Alternatively, several online platforms now offer hormone testing kits that can be delivered to your doorstep. These test kits usually involve collecting a sample, such as saliva or blood, and sending it back to the testing company. The results are then provided online, along with personalized recommendations based on your hormone levels.
When using online hormone testing services, ensure you choose a reputable and certified provider to guarantee accurate results and reliable recommendations.
Conclusion
Hormone testing for women has become an indispensable tool in promoting overall health and well-being. By identifying hormone imbalances, women can receive personalized treatment plans to address their specific needs effectively. Whether you prefer in-person consultations or the convenience of online testing services, finding hormone testing near you has never been easier.
Remember, hormone balance is crucial for maintaining optimal health and vitality throughout all stages of life. Don't hesitate to seek hormone testing if you suspect any imbalances that may be affecting your quality of life. Take charge of your hormonal health today, and embrace a life of balance and well-being.

PAUSE, BREATHE, AND THINK
Menopause, menopause, menopause……. Pre-menopause, peri-menopause, and post-menopause.
LET’S PAUSE!!
Isn’t this psyching us? Or at least it is psyching me up.
All over the internet, Facebook, Instagram, social media, or any site u visit there are reels on how menopause is affecting women, advice on how to deal with it, or some advertisements wherein they promote a brand of medicines to help us deal with this natural phenomenon. The other day I happened to be scrolling up the Instagram reels and I found ‘A TO Z’ SYMPTOMS OF MENOPAUSE PROBLEMS…for e.g. A for anxiety, B for bloating, C for cycle changes, and so on and so forth till Z
WOW… amazing I couldn’t have even said normal alphabetical problems from A to Z. The whole concept of menopause and its so-called effects have been given so much importance, that of course my awareness has increased multifold on this topic, but it has also led me to consciously psyche myself up that if I don’t feel these -then probably I am not undergoing pre, peri and post-menopause. This is such a natural phenomenon, which every woman’s body undergoes physically, emotionally, and psychologically. By merely seeing all the promotions of this natural phenomenon so often, I have rather become very sensitive to this and I expect all these symptoms to occur to me as well…
To come to think of it, I may actually for real not even undergo any of these at all and it could be a smooth sailing process but by psyching myself up with this awareness I’m actually allowing this worry to settle in my subconscious levels and letting myself to undergo this.
Why can’t we ‘just let it be’ as what it is and not confuse and lead our minds into letting all these symptoms to happen? Let it just flow, let us not attach too much importance to this, and let’s just live, maybe by this it may just come and go. Allow the body to move on, the changes may be comfortable or may not, but it has to pass, we have to go ahead in this journey, and we have to surpass this phase, so let’s be positive and feel that it’s just normal and has been happening for years.
Do we ever remember our moms or our aunts or grandmoms ranting about this so much? Though u may say that its un awareness but I think they just didn’t give too much importance to this and let life happen the way it had to and dealt with it with much more perseverance, endurance, and courage. I know of someone who just mentioned to me that she is scared of how she is going to go through this phase of menopause and is scared that age is advancing towards it.
Yes, one beautiful advantage of this is at least our family and friends understand us when we are in this stage of life, which is encouraging. Well, that’s my thought on this journey of aging gracefully process, as we all enter into the next phase of life, accepting this and allowing it to happen simply without attaching too much importance is good enough for us to be happy.
Stay fit and stay healthy.

A Start Of Something New
After approximately 5 years, I am finally getting the treatment that I needed. Alhamdulillah.
I was diagnosed with Endometriosis (is a disease where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing pain and/or infertility) in the late of 2018. I had two Endometrotic Cyst removed from my Uterus. Both were growing on my Fallopian Tubes.
When I was first diagnosed with the condition, I had little to none information about the disease. All I could remember was the pain. So much pain. Accruciating pointy pain at my abdominan, back & thighs. There was one point in time before I went to A&E and was then diagnosed, I had troubel of walking properly. My legs were pulled down and that made me had a hard time. Those poking needle like pain drove me crazy.
Fast forward, after I had my cysts removed, I had a breakdown. The reality hit me. Knowing that every single time if I were to remove any cysts growing in me, my egg count will drop and that will eventually lead to difficulty to conceive. The thought of having to live with this disease for the rest of my life also made me feeling miserable.
For the past 5 years or so I struggled emotionally. My emotions were simply unmanageable. I am not diagnosed with depression but I was showing symptoms. I was simply miserable & lost. I could not accept the reality. I also struggled physically & it affected my livelihood.
I tried so many things to manage the pain, the nausea & vomitting. It was nightmare. I gave up everytime something does not go my way. I gave up everytime the pain got worse. The countless clinics & hospital visits irritated me. Like, when will this ever be over? Broken spirit, broken hope, unstable emotions and impatience were and somehow still lives within me.
The countless random Gynae & GP that I have visited could not give me definite answers or proper treatment or guidelines as to how I could manage the pain, the side effects as well as how to manage my emotional & mental health. I changed from one hospital to another.
With the new hospital, initially I was still seeing random Gynae and to me it was somehow waste of time. They kept telling me to keep taking painkillers and pills (similar to birth control pill) to manage my pain. Like, I am in pain now. I needed something immediate not for long term.
Finally, after so many years, I finally somehow see hope when the current Hospital I visit for check-up/follow-up has opened a Endometriosis Clinic. ALHAMDULILLAH. I can finally get consultation and proper treatment from an Endometriosis Specialist and not having to meet random Gynae everytime I go for check-up. A little side story on this, earlier this year my Uncle actually asked me how am I doing. He then suggested for me to find one Gynae and stick to he/she so I can have a more organised, detailed treatment plan. I was touched by how he genuinely is concerned about my health. Talking to him that day made me feel cared for and that I really miss my Dad. Oh yeah, a couple of months after I had my surgery, my Dad passed away. THAT was my second breakdown.
I completely lost everything the day my Dad passed away. EVERYTHING. Hope, spirits, love. I lost it all. The only one person whom truly cares & support me with everything in life left me when I was battling the disease. I lost my father, protector,my bestfriend. He whom accompanied me to check-ups ( I did the same for him), he whom send me to work, he whom brought Pisang Goreng home for me. I lost him. He is no longer with me now but I pray that we, the whole family will be reunited again in the highest of Jannah (Heaven). Aamiin.
Back to the Endometriosis Clinic story; I finally met and was consulted my an Endo Specialist. Her name is Dr Lim. She explained to me in detailed about my current state and she shared with me her treatment plans she has in mind. She given me medication that could help to surpress the Cyts growth also to manage the pain. Apparently I had taken the medication before after I had my surgery. She advised me to take this medication for 4 months till the next follow-up with her. In the mean-time, she has ordered me to go for a MRI Scan so she could have clearer view on what's happening in my body especially my uterus area.
Moving forward, I strive to be more positive thinking, more patient, more calm and poise. Well, I strive. I strive to make things happen. All those pin saving on Pinterest in regards to Endometriosis (pain management, diet etc), I am determined to follow them through. One step at a time that is.
🤲 Bismillah.💪 💛
P.S: To all my fellow Endo Warriors, keep your head held high. Do not fret. Have hope, keep calm and be happy. 💛

SELECTING THE RIGHT NIGHT SKIN CARE CREAM
Choosing a night care face cream can be a daunting task, but it's important to find the right one for your skin type to ensure that it provides maximum benefits without causing any irritation or breakouts.
Here are some steps you can follow to select a night care face cream for your skin type:
1. DETERMINE YOUR SKIN TYPE:
Before selecting a night care face cream, you need to know your skin type. There are four basic skin types: oily, dry, combination, and normal. To determine your skin type, observe your skin and assess how it looks and feels.
Tumblr media
2. CONSIDER YOUR SKIN CONCERNS:
Along with your skin type, you should also consider your skin concerns. Do you have fine lines and wrinkles, acne, dark spots, or dull skin? Your skin concerns can help you choose a night cream that targets those specific issues.
Tumblr media
3. LOOK FOR INGREDIENTS THAT SUIT YOUR SKIN TYPE:
When selecting a night cream, look for ingredients that suit your skin type. For oily skin, look for lightweight formulas that are oil-free and non-comedogenic. For dry skin, choose a cream that is rich in emollients, such as shea butter or ceramides. Combination skin can benefit from a gel-like formula that hydrates without feeling heavy, while normal skin types can use a variety of creams.
Tumblr media
4. CONSIDER THE TEXTURE AND FORMULA:
Night creams come in different textures, such as creams, gels, and lotions. Choose a texture that feels comfortable on your skin and absorbs easily. If you have sensitive skin, look for a fragrance-free and hypoallergenic formula.
Tumblr media
5. READ PRODUCT REVIEWS:
Before making a purchase, read product reviews from others with your skin type and concerns. This can give you an idea of how effective the product is and whether it is suitable for your skin.
Tumblr media
6. TEST THE PRODUCT:
Once you have selected a product, test it on a small patch of skin before applying it to your entire face. This can help you avoid any allergic reactions or irritation.
Tumblr media
Overall, selecting a night care face cream involves understanding your skin type, skin concerns, and finding the right ingredients and formula that suit your needs. It's essential to be patient and take the time to find the right product that works for your skin
Here are some popular night creams available in India for different skin types:
1. FOR NORMAL TO OILY SKIN:
Lotus Herbals WhiteGlow Skin Whitening and Brightening Nourishing Night Creme
Biotique Bio Wheat Germ FIRMING FACE and BODY NIGHT CREAM
Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-Ageing Revitalizing Night Skin Cream
2. FOR DRY SKIN:
The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream
L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Moisturizing Night Cream
Himalaya Herbals Revitalizing Night Cream
3. FOR COMBINATION SKIN:
Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture Combination Skin Moisturizer
Plum Green Tea Renewed Clarity Night Gel
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
4. FOR SENSITIVE SKIN:

Avène Skin Recovery Cream
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Night Face Cream
It's important to note that everyone's skin is unique and what works for one person may not work for another. It's always a good idea to do a patch test before using any new product

Should Women Prisoners be Unknowingly Sterilized, what says you? "Today We Are Sisters" is a paintoem (painting + poem). Paintoems are poems inspired by paintings or drawings; or paintings and drawings inspired by poems. They are combined together as a single work of Digital art. All paintoems are classified as a Creative Commons (CC). This means the public has the right to freely use these works as long as the artist or artists are acknowledged. This paintoem was created in 2018, as a response to reports of reparations by California officials to victims of its forced sterilization program, 1909 - 1979. However, from 2006 - 2010, 150 California women prisoners were illegally sterilized by force and were being excluded from reparations. The premise behind this work was to act as a unifying force amongst women of different political persuasions, Pro-choice and Pro-life. In 2018, C-Note donated his drawing "Today We Are Sisters" to the California Coalition for Women Prisoners (CCWP). That year, the CCWP began lobbying California legislators for reparations to these women prisoners. February of 2021, saw the video release of "Free Virtual Art Exhibition (1-Artist; 1-Subject; 21-Works)." The exhibition consisted of 21-Works by C-Note. Each work in the exhibition consisted of his Works related to incarceration. The final piece of the exhibition concluded with "Today We Are Sisters." Shortly after the release of the "21-Works" video, the California legislation put forth a Bill to give California women prisoners who were forcibly sterilized reparations. A $7.5 million reparations Bill was signed into law in July of 2021. #Adsmith #Prisonart #artforsale #gift #interiordesign #realestate #digitalart #prisoner #prison #art #doctor #doctors #maternity #children #women #womenhealth #womenprisoners #sterlization #pregnancy #poem #poetry #poet #prisonpoet #cnote #artists (at Silicon Valley) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl69SAfScgM/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Tips to Manage Your Bladder After Pregnancy
The increasing weight of your baby can put a strain on your bladder. Because of this, urine leakage may occur (incontinence). Pregnancy and the postpartum period are both vulnerable times for women to experience difficulties with bladder control. Pelvic organ prolapse, injured pelvic nerves, and weaker pelvic floor muscles are all possible causes of incontinence. If you've lost control of your bladder, doing Kegel exercises can help you rebuild strength in your pelvic floor and bowel muscles.
Tumblr media
Pregnancy and Postpartum
A definition of incontinence would be helpful.
The inability to hold in one's urine is known medically as urinary incontinence. Incontinence can cause a person to have frequent, uncontrollable urges to urinate or to leak urine between bathroom breaks. If you suffer from incontinence, you may also find that you need to visit the restroom more often than usual.
Curious about the bladder and how it functions?
The bladder is a muscular sac that sits atop the pelvic bone. The pelvic muscles support it and keep it in place. Urine exits the body from the bladder via a tube called the urethra. As your bladder fills with urine, the muscle lining it relaxes. The sphincter muscles, meantime, work to keep the bladder closed until you're ready to urinate.
The bladder's function is aided by a number of other bodily systems. When the bladder is full, nerves send a signal to the brain.  Your bladder's optimal functioning depends on a coordinated effort from all of these nerves and muscles.
After giving birth, how do you regain control of your bladder?
It's not uncommon for pregnant women to have occasional leakage in between restroom breaks. Incontinence describes this condition. Pregnant women may be more susceptible to stress incontinence than other types. Your stress incontinence may manifest as urinary leakage during the following situations:
Cough.
Laugh.
Get your body moving.
The uterus and bladder are in the same pelvic cavity. The bladder gets compressed (flattened) as your growing baby grows, reducing its capacity to store pee. Due to the increased pressure, you may feel the need to urinate more frequently than usual. This is very normal and should pass within a few weeks after giving birth.
A woman's risk of postpartum incontinence varies widely based on factors such as the complexity of her pregnancy, the method of delivery she chooses, and the number of children she has. Women who have given birth, whether naturally or by a C-Section, are more likely to experience stress incontinence later in life.
Tumblr media
Some women experience a loss of bladder control due to pelvic organ prolapse (a slide down) after giving birth. During pregnancy and a vaginal delivery, your pelvic muscles can relax and become weak. Your bladder may sag or droop if your pelvic muscles are not strong enough to hold them. cystocele is the medical term for this issue. The urethra's opening may become dilated if the bladder sags.
For what reasons do women lose control of their bladders after giving birth?
Some women may lose bladder control after giving birth due to the following:
Pelvic organ prolapse occurs when the muscles supporting the bladder become too weak. Cystocele is the medical term for this issue.
Trauma to the pelvic nerves that regulate bladder function is a real possibility with a protracted or challenging vaginal birth.
The pelvic floor and the anal sphincter muscles are vulnerable to injury during delivery, especially when using forceps.
The risk of harm to the pelvic nerves during a vaginal delivery increases with the duration of pushing.
How frequent is it to have urine leakage during pregnancy?
Incontinence, or the involuntary loss of bladder control, is a common problem throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period for many women. During pregnancy, the bladder may experience strain as the body adapts to the needs of the developing fetus. Many pregnant ladies experience this.
Problems with bladder control during or after pregnancy: how do doctors determine the cause?
Although most bladder control issues during or after pregnancy resolve on their own, you should still consult your doctor if you're still having issues six weeks after giving birth. Keeping a diary of restroom visits is an excellent idea. Keep account of the frequency and timing of your pee leakage episodes in this journal.
Your doctor will check your bladder function and do a physical exam to rule out other diseases during your scheduled appointment. In addition, your doctor may recommend few of tests.
Following are some recommendations for addressing issues with bladder control:
To reduce the risk of urine leakage, try switching to decaffeinated drinks or water. You may experience a greater urgency to pee after consuming liquids like carbonated drinks, coffee, or tea.
Cutting back on fluids can help you avoid getting up multiple times through the night to use the restroom.
Eating high-fiber foods can prevent constipation, which can lead to pee incontinence.
Keeping one's weight where it should be for optimal health. The bladder may feel more strain if the person's body weight is over average. The strain on your bladder may lessen if you make an effort to lose weight after giving birth.
Always try to keep your postpartum essentials such as incontinence pads, intimate wipes, postpartum deodorant, etc handy to avoid any kind of emergency or embarrassment.
Documenting the occurrences of leakage of urine. Noting when you leak urine throughout the day can be helpful. If you notice a pattern, you might try to predict when you'll need to use the restroom to minimize leaks.
If you can get into a routine, you may be able to reduce the frequency of your restroom breaks. Holding on for longer periods of time helps you develop pelvic muscle strength and improves bladder control.
Do kegels help with incontinence?
Kegel exercises, commonly known as pelvic floor exercises, work to improve muscle tone and tone in the area that supports the pelvic organs. A woman's capacity to relax and control her muscles during labor and birth can be improved by working on these areas while pregnant.
After giving delivery, it is strongly suggested that you perform Kegel exercises to aid in the recovery of your pelvic floor muscles, raise the strength of your perineal tissues, and promote the healing of your perineal tissues (including better urinary control).
Kegel exercises are performed by visualizing oneself obstructing a stream of urine or holding in one's gas. By doing so, you are engaging in Kegel exercises, which include contracting (tightening) the muscles of the pelvic floor. Make an effort to maintain a static position during the workouts, particularly in the thighs, buttocks, and abdominal muscles. To be honest, no one should even notice that you are exercising your Kegel muscles.
Daily Kegel exercises are highly recommended. Regularly performing five sets of Kegel exercises is suggested. Hold each pelvic floor contraction for 10 slow seconds, and then release. This is one set of Kegels, and you should repeat it 15 times.
You should feel prepared to deal with incontinence before, during, and after pregnancy, If you're interested in learning more, please click here.
We hope your postpartum recovery goes smoothly.
