Divine Me A Masterpiece Challenge

♦ About

Welcome to my 1000 follower challenge!!! With there being a lot of seasonal challenges right now I thought I’d do something a little different. I thought that maybe we should get in touch with magic that’s in the air right now ;)

So for this challenge we are looking at tarot! First I’ll go over the rules and expectations, then gloss over tarot, and finally round out this post with the characters and prompts. So let’s get started :D

To Enter

You must apply through my ask box so no anons. If you are using a side blog and don’t want your main shown to the world tell me so in the ask and I will not post it publicly. 

Every entry needs to be inspired by a Major Arcana card and must be focused on a character or ship I listed.

Each card is limited to one person!

Entries must be sent by ask and will be posted publicly!

I have bonus prompts listed at the bottom of this post; you need to use at least one (1) and you are limited to three (3) total! Sentence prompts are all first come, first serve! The majority of the AU prompts have a two person limit.

What your ask should include - the tarot card you wish to claim, the character or ship you wish to write for, and 1-3 of the prompts/AUs I have listed (You need to use at least one from the list).

All angst must have a happy ending and no cis-swapping.

I am accepting - fics, fan art, moodboards, edits, and playlists (you need to make a cover for it).

Note: I work second shift so please don’t panic if I don’t respond in the afternoon/evening hours.

November 24th, 2018 - I currently am just shy of 1000 followers and will not be posting a due date for these until I get 1000 followers. I will tag all who entered when that happens.

♦ About Tarot

We’ve all seen the decks of cards with beautiful designs used for helping find possible answers to questions we may have, but not everyone knows what’s going on with them. I will gloss over the bare minimum of info here, but I encourage you all to read up on tarot if you are unfamiliar with it.

Tarot cards are used for uncovering possible answers to questions we have about our lives - from love to career. Cards can be drawn and placed in a certain layout (spread) and are then read in a specific order. They are meant for enlightenment and what they tell in the spread is not set in stone - they are cards and you can ignore their take if you wish.

There are two ways to read the cards depending on how they appear in a spread - upright and reversed (upside down). If the card is revealed to be right-side up you are to read the card as is and if it is reversed then it’s meaning is reversed.

Depending on the deck, the description of the card can vary slightly, but overall they are similar. Also, the meaning behind the card is affected by the other cards in the spread. For this challenge you will only have to worry about the card you selected.

Because there are in total 78 cards in a standard deck (divided between the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana), we will only be using the Major Arcana which totals 22 cards.

          Raelyn jogged around the ship, waving as crew members said hello. She was only four years old, but she rarely acted like one. The small child walked into a training room and found her father  fighting with her uncle Bones. Raelyn started to copy some of the moved her father would make, unaware her mother was watching from an above catwalk. Diana smiled lightly watching her daughter, her own memories of copying fight moves coming to her mind. Raelyn looked so much like her father but acted like her mother.

           “Daddy!” Raelyn yelled before running over to Jim, who picked her up easily.

           “Hello my princess. Were you watching?” Jim asked.

           “Mommy’s still better.” Diana smiled at Raelyn’s response as she walked down to join them.

           “Well mommy has had years to practice.” Jim said as he tickled Rae’s belly. The toddler giggled as Diana stood next to them.

           “I would still fight better than you James.” Diana said as she took Raelyn from Jim’s arms.

           “Mommy when can I learn to fight?” Raelyn asked as her arms wrapped around Diana’s neck.

           “When you are taller.” Diana answered. Both parents laughed as their daughter began to pout.

Jim stared up at the massive construction effort currently surrounding his ship-to-be. The Enterprise-A was a beauty all right, sleek and shining and more powerful than her predecessor. He couldn't wait to sit on her bridge as Captain again, flying boldly into the great unknown vastness of space. Dealing with the aftermath of Krall's attack had been hard and painful, especially notifying the loved ones of his crew who had died, but he was starting to sleep better at night and the raw images weren't tormenting him so much any more. After a long day in vid comms with Starfleet, he'd come to the shipyard to watch the work on the new Enterprise, which he found very calming after dealing with people all day. She was looking more and more complete every time he came and Scotty reported progress was going very smoothly. "Should I be jealous? Because you've got definite heart eyes looking at her," said a soft voice from behind him. Jim knew that voice and whirled around to see his very favorite demigoddess/Admiral standing there, smiling at him. "Diana!" He breathed, face stretching in what was definitely the biggest smile he'd shown in months. "You're here!" In seconds they'd met in the middle, Jim welcoming her with an overjoyed embrace, which was very much returned. "I was bracing myself for Komack coming and here you are instead," he told her. "Very happy surprise." Diana laughed and kissed him affectionately. "I persuaded them that it would be better for your morale if I went instead," she explained. "James Komack is an excellent admiral, but somewhat lacking in people skills, especially when it comes to you." Wasn't that the truth, Jim thought. The man couldn't stand him and always thought the worst of him. "Well, you have my sincere thanks," he said out loud. "It's so good to see you again: being just as dazzling as ever." No one made the dress uniform look as good as Diana did, he'd always thought, but it was always her eyes that captivated him right off the bat with their gorgeous dark depths. There was another long silence while they celebrated being reunited after almost three years of long distance only communications. Diana took his head in her hands once they'd finally come up for air and carefully looked him over. "You look much improved, Jim," she said approvingly. He'd lost the haunted, tired look he'd carried the first weeks after Krall and there was more life in those blue eyes than there had been for months before that. "It helps that I'm sleeping at night now," he admitted. "Through this whole mess, I think I've rediscovered my purpose and thrill of exploration. It had started to be like I was just going through the motions everyday." "Were you depressed?" She asked him, concern furrowing her forehead. "Probably," he admitted. "Bones says they're doing more in depth studies on the effects of extended deep space missions on officers and crew member's mental health. He did get me to see a professional, also. I'm in a much better state now." "Excellent," she said, kissing his jaw. "We have a lot of catching up to do, love." The tone of her voice made Jim shiver with delight as he grasped what she suggested. "I'm all yours, beautiful," he said with a smoldering smile. "Perhaps later, I can give you a tour of my new ship?" "I'd like that," she replied, clasping his hand in hers and turning to briefly look up at the unfinished starship. "It's magnificent. Now, Shall we adjourn to your quarters?" "We shall indeed." With his trademark smirk and wink, he walked off hand in hand with her.

What is the great difference between some “WonderTrev Fans” and Bruce Wayne ?

When you try to search “anti wonderbat”, tumblr tells you that a “Related :” search would be “wondertrev” or “steve trevor” ... If you try “anti wondertrev” there is no related search ... Telling no ? ... obviously WonderBat people are much more mature and open minded ...

So there are these “Wondertrev fans”, a lot actually, who pretend to love Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor. Fans that just want that :

A eternal life of mourning a dead man ...make me think of Sisyphus or Prometheus. This ship looks more like a punishment than true love (they love Steve Trevor but obviously not so much Diana Prince).

In comparison Bruce Wayne, once he is gone, wants her to find happiness again even she’d fall in love with his best friend, Clark Kent. That is “True Love” !

I like WonderTrev in the movie but I’m a much greater fan of WonderBat anywhere else (comics, movie, animation,..).

But even if I prefer Diana with Bruce, I am convinced that the movie Steve Trevor is man enough to share the same point of view as Bruce Wayne regarding Diana’s happiness.

I imagine that any good man, even without being a hero, would be happy and even honored to know that, after his death, Diana waited 100 years before she found the right man to love again and chose to give up her heart to best Man on earth. A normal man,  good hearted, generous, loyal and noble, who as a kid had to go through Hell but nonetheless loves truth, Justice and Life as much as Diana. A man with no extra-powers, but is still able to fight with the “Justice League”, side by side with the most powerful beings of the world, people who are his friends but still respect him so much they call him “boss” and grant him the leadership of the League.

Anyway are these hateful people believing you can force Diana into something ? No, So, the only thing I would expect Diana to tell all these so called “WonderTrev Fans” is :

So I am not going to post that on either tags, “wondertrev” or “steve trevor”, because they are too polluted ... anyway both tags will be cleansed the next time Chris Pine has a new love interest as Star Trek’s Captain Kirk or in any other movie ... maybe they should have created a WonderPine tag or WonderKirk tag... to keep the DC related posts cleared for real fans who know that Steve Trevor is only a “supporting character” to Wonder Woman much like Alfred Pennyworth, Commissioner Gordon or Vicky Vale to Batman ...

Unlike Lois Lane, Steve Trevor and Selina Kyle are both mentioned in DC Comics character definition as “occasional” love interests of their related Superheroes. But I have to confess that Catwoman does a hell of a better job in her Romance with Batman than Trevor with Diana. Tom King starts to do a better Batman but he is still a killer at writing the BatCat romance, King makes it hard not to fall for them ... fortunately,  as long as she keeps up her criminal activities there is no chance it ever gets a new “Lois and Clark” love story ... Can someone please tell Maxwell Lord to mind control Tom King into writing WonderBat instead ?

First Contact || Wonderkirk

They had been at warp for two weeks before Uhura came to him with a file pulled up on a screen. “Commander, I haven’t even had my coffee yet,” he said, nodding down to the cup in his hands, “I’m still half asleep.” He sat at one of the tables in the cafeteria and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. “Captain, Lieutenant Prince and I have found something that we think you need to see.” He looked around briefly for Diana, not seeing her. They had grown closer as friends over the last couple of weeks, but he still didn’t know why she seemed to look at him strangely from time to time. It wasn’t like she was looking past him, but into him. It was a weird feeling and he wondered if he was imagining it. “Go on then,” he said, sipping the coffee and nearly whining when it burned his tongue. Uhura seemed mildly annoyed, but continued. She showed the screen to him and he raised one eyebrow. It wasn’t more than jumbled letters on a screen. “Forgive me, I must have slept through foreign language class.” She shook her head and typed a few things before showing him again. “It is a distress signal, coming from a planet that we are...” She checked the time, “currently half an hour away from, at current warp speed.” He sat up, intrigued. “Star Fleet?” She shook her head. “It’s Klingon, sir.”

James looked at her like she was crazy. “So? I’d like to know what they are doing so far from beta quadrant, but other than that...” he shrugged and took another drink before pushing himself up with a sigh and deciding to go to the bridge early. Uhura had disrupted his morning routine anyway. “Sir, we... that is, Diana and I, believe we should help them.” James immediately shook his head. “Are you insane? They would most likely shoot us on sight. Besides, it could be a trap.” Uhura pressed on, keeping easy pace with him. “The signal states that there are elders and children, some injured...” They continued to bicker all the way to the bridge. “Rescuing our biggest enemy is not our mission, Commander,” he finally said as the elevator doors opened.
