A little portrait i did of a friends pupper <33
in the woods, i find myself following the fallen blooms that have tumbled down the rocks…
and line the floor of the forest in a trail,
mingling with the leaf litter,
showing me the Way to the Woodbine; a species of Honeysuckle native to North America. it’s bright blooms climb dozens of feet upwards into the trees to brush the canopy of the forest
i like to sit under them to listen for the hummingbirds. they move so quickly i barely see them- experiencing them mostly as the movement of air past me, accompanied by the hum of their small but sonorous wings
by the time i turn towards home my hands are brimming with the fallen flowers i’d gathered from the forest floor on my Way to the Woodbine
