“Cult” (n.) and “cultic” (adj.)
There is great confusion when describing certain groups and movements as "cultic." Since the most famous examples of cultic groups and movements in living memory include the Manson Family, People’s Temple, the Branch Davidians and Heaven’s Gate, the popular conception of a cult has become a centralized group with one leader with a type-A personality. This is not how most cultic groups take shape.
"Cultic" and "centralized" are not synonyms. They are entirely different concepts, and whether one group or movement is one has no bearing whatsoever on whether it is the other.
The United Pentecostal Church International and Pentecostal Assemblies of the World are both cults. They are part of the Oneness Pentecostal movement*. Note, the UPCI and PAW are not in fellowship with each other and have no official relations. This is because this movement is decentralized, encompassing various different groups that are united in few if any ways besides (some) similar teachings. Whatever leadership and governance model they have, shared or contrasting, is secondary, because Oneness Pentecostalism as a set of doctrines is itself cultic, meaning any group that espouses it is a cult by definition.
Christian Identity is a more pronounced example of a cultic movement that is decentralized. It is a white supremacist group that teaches that white people are the descendants of the ancient Israelites, and that "gentiles" (people who aren't white) can never be saved. Its footprint is almost entirely made of websites, prison gangs, and local congregations, which are not in fellowship with each other or with any larger group. I would hope any decent person would be opposed to this movement and its teachings, but an attempt to treat "cultic" and "centralized" as synonyms might keep one from recognizing CI as something that should be avoided.
Other decentralized movements that are cultic include the Word of Faith movement, the Men's Right Movement, dispensationalism, neurodiversity, the Sovereign Citizens movement, BDSM, the New IFB, kinism, and the Black Hebrew Israelites. Every group that is part of these is a cult, thought they may not be in fellowship with other groups within the same movement.
*The Oneness Pentecostal movement is not representative of Pentecostalism as a whole. Most of the world's Pentecostals belong to the Assemblies of God which has taught the Trinity for its entire existence. Pentecostalism is not necessarily cultic. Oneness Pentecostalism is.

To my fellow Christians, continue to be good Bereans. Many false prophets and teachers have gone out into the world -- distorting the Gospel, bringing reproach upon the Name of God and twisting Scripture -- and they do not care about your spiritual health and development.
If someone gives a false prophecy, or says they have a word from the Lord and it does not come to past -- do not listen to them. Doctrine and lifestyle must be used to determine if the teacher is a good teacher or a false one. Avoid the false teachers and call them out. It isn't loving not to call them out because if we do not call false teachers out, they will destroy people. Pray that God will give them mercy and repentance.

The preaching of the gospel, the good news, God's word is the only antidote that God has prescribed regarding this world. He gave his Son. The Son gave his life. By way of our belief in the gospel of Christ, he save and deliver us from this present evil world.
The Son did not come starting programs, beginning a political party, or any other thing. He came preaching and teaching the kingdom. He came preaching and teaching the time to come. He came preaching hope, belief, and faith in God; that if we believe and receive the kingdom of God, we will be there in that world to come. (He's going to destroy this one.)
The gospel is for the purpose of calling people out of this world. The gospel, good news, or God's word is for the purpose of stopping the the works of Satan. The preaching of the Word of God torments devils. The preaching of the Word has become my hope.
However, despite the supremacy of God's word, in this age of the Church, the word of God is not going to appeal to the Church. 📜 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; [4] and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. - II Timothy 4:3-4 It is therefore going to take for us to INDIVIDUALLY respond to God. In this age of the Church, it will not be a corporate turning unto God to take heed to, believe in, and for the hearing of God's word. 📜‭‭Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. - Revelation 3:20
📖 ‭‭Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught. [22] And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. [23] Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, [24] saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” [25] But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” [26] And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. - Mark 1:21-26
📖 ‭‭You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. - I John 4:4
📖 ‭‭He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. - I John 3:8
📖 ‭‭To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. [22] “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ” - Revelation 3:21-22
📖 ‭‭Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. - Revelation 21:1

Now that the post is over 10k and my notes are straight-up unusable...
One thing I wish I'd spelled out more explicitly in the original post because I see this point getting lost on a lot of rebloggers who don't understand why the healthcare thing was such a big deal is like
The subtext I thought would be understood bc I lived back then but apparently has been lost today is that making sure queer employees and their partners had healthcare in the early 90s meant Disney was paying for a lot of AIDS treatment.
This is one reason fundie Christians were so upset and queer employees were so grateful. It's one reason why it was such a controversial decision. It was a major talking point amongst my family, who believed back then that AIDS was a punishment from God.
(Some still do, I think. We don't talk.)
I keep seeing people saying that Disney only chose that option "because of their bottom line" and it's like??? Were you listening??? Disney has been paying for that decision for literally decades, but they've stood by it.
Like... the 90s weren't like now! It wasn't profitable to cater to the queer population of the country back then. They weren't raking in money with this.
It's in no way a perfect company but I fully believe in criticizing people for the specific things they do wrong and praising them for the specific things they do right. Disney has fucked copyright, monopoly, and labor laws and I'm not about to defend that. But they are well known in FL for being friendly to both queer people and disabled people, and that is unambiguously a good thing.
(Like side note, I could talk about Disney and accessibility for days. I have traveled extensively while disabled and no one does it like Disney.)
I've had people reblogging the post like "I straight-up don't believe Disney is an industry leader in equal protections for queer employees" and it's like ??? do you think I just pulled this out of my ass? If you want more information, go look it up! You'll see that this is well-established history. It's not my fault y'all don't read! :|

There are many books being sold today in Christian bookstores that are dangerous to your spiritual health. Many here are already familiar with the names of people whose books we should avoid from the Word of Faith camp such as: John Bevere, Juanita Bynum, Morris Cerullo, Kim Clement, Kenneth Copeland, Paul Crouch, Creflo Dollar, Jesse Duplantis, Kenneth Hagin, Marilyn Hickey, Benny Hinn, Rodney Howard-Browne, T.D. Jakes, Bishop Eddie L. Long, Joyce Meyer, Myles Munroe, Steve Munsey, Mike Murdock, Joel Osteen, Rod Parsley, Peter Popoff, Fred Price, R.W. Shambach, Robert Tilton, Paula White, Ed Young and a whole host of others. We know to avoid the books of people who are promoting the New Apostolic Reformation such as C. Peter Wagner, John Dawson, Jack Deere, Francis Frangipane, Ted Haggard, Bill Hamon, Cindy Jacobs, Rick Joyner, George Otis, Jr., Dutch Sheets, Ed Silvoso and many others. I have spoken a number of times on the subject of the First Nations Movement which is tied to the New Apostolic Reformation. We know we need to avoid the materials of those who teach these things like Richard Twiss, Daniel Kikawa, Terry LeBlanc, YWAM and members of the World Gathering of Indigenous People. There are many other false teachers whose books are being sold in Christian bookstores that we need to avoid. Reinhard Bonnke, Paul Cain, Paul (David)Yonggi Cho, John Hagee, Christian Harfouche, Jack Hayford, David Hogan, Roberts Liardon, Arnold Murray, Pat Robertson, Robert Schuller, Gwen Shaw, Tommy Tenney and many more. Illness is a real thing. Illness can affect any part of anyone's body at any time. Illness can be, and often is, inborn. Illness can be, and often is, lifelong. Pursuing healthy lifestyles can lessen, but never eliminate, the possibility of illness, including permanent illness. The brain, being as much a part of the body as the foot or the spleen, can also suffer illness, in this case a mental illness.
The neurodiversity movement generally denies the existence of mental illness. Its adherents is uncomfortable with the fact that there are things that are expected of most people that the mentally ill are unable to perform, cradle to grave. Therefore, it retreats in medical denialism, calling mental illnesses "neurotypes."
The Word of Faith movement does not deny illness, but instead says that if someone lives in a certain way or says certain things, that they can be healed of various ailments. This includes dismemberment, chromosomal disorders, and, in extreme cases, death. Their attempts at ridding the world of illness has proven fruitless
The neurodiversity and Word of Faith movements are two cultic sides of the same denialist, escapist coin. Illness is a fact of life, and a fact of some people's entire lives. Sometimes it can be healed, and sometimes it cannot. Denying its existence does not improve anyone's life, and neither do lies about the ability to miraculously cure it. What the ill, including the mentally ill, need is compassion and assistance.

"And he said unto another, Follow me." - Luke 9:59
Just as Christ called the people of his day to walk with him so that they'll end where he is (John 14:1-3), he yet does the same today.
Yet, walking with God is intimate. It consist of trust, belief, hope. God's knows why he calls each one of us, and individually has his plan for us. His will for our lives brings us into knowing the Father (John14:6). His will or his way is one that others can't believe for us, nor will we at times. . . His will for our lives that he calls us into requires the Holy Ghost strengthening us to endure, keep the faith, and to believe. Otherwise, we won't experience the eternal life that the Son gives, that was predetermined in God before the foundation of the world. God has our lives planned, but it is a matter of trust in him -- belief.
Trust God. Look to him. We can't look for anyone to believe for us into what God individually has for us. We can't look to anyone to believe along with us for what or how God leads us in our lives. . . We'll even question and won't be too thrilled ourselves concerning things. "His thoughts are not our thoughts neither are our ways, his . . ." (Isaiah 55:8)
📖 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. - Luke 14:26
