just a thought: if you think Eddie is not cool because he is a loser, a dorky silly nerd boy with no rizz (whatever that means) and you end that sentence with: BUT I LOVE HIM SO AND I'D DIE FOR HIM... maybe, just maybe, you think he's pretty cool after all...? maybe, just maybe, cool isn't just one thing... maybe the whole point is that people can be into whatever they like no matter how niche and nerdy and the whole cool part is a matter of, I don't know, personality? and overall attitude? is the good stuff you get when you pry beyond the layers of denim and leather and DnD club merchandise?
can't for the life of me think of the guy from a troubled upbringing and low social status who just expresses himself the way he wants despite everybody giving him shit for it and for things he can't control and who gathers the other little outsiders around so that they aren't alone as a loser.
quite the opposite actually.

Queer isn’t a slur?
It is. You can't reclaim a slur if it isn't a slur. I reclaim the word queer, but that doesn't mean it's not a slur. It is a slur, and I proudly call myself a slur. But that doesn't mean I'll call other people "queer" if they don't want to be called that, because it *is* a slur at the end of the day and lots of people have trauma attached to it.

Y'all don't even understand! Every time a subtitle aligns with one of my wild ass thoughts, I become one session of therapy crazier.
And this weekend has added three more sessions in the span of two days.
First, I've been saying Yi has not being showing his true color in Naughty Babe promo material.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And both Diao and Kuea think their guys are with them because of a sense of duty.

Next, my little Ray of Sunshine (what we all have been calling this man) is a hot ass mess that Sand is already falling in love with in Only Friends.

And, finally, Dangerous Romance's Kang just wants to be acknowledged.

Thank you subtitlers for picking those specific words to translate the source material from. Words mean things, and they mean I'm cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs all day e'er' day, but every now and then, I'm just a little bit crazier than normal and strike gold.
Tumblr media
Hidden Agenda, it's your turn next! Let me pay for my therapist's bomb ass fall vacation with a fourth session.
Give me palabras.

Give me Joke being called out for crossing the line.

In part due to this excellent Instagram post and in part due to *motions at everything,* I’ve been thinking a lot about the proud tradition of respectful arguing in Judaism. Not only does respectful arguing, of course, tie into “two Jews, three opinions,” I also think respectful arguing is a facet of why I, as a Jew, have been so confused and horrified by pro-Hamas discourse.
Because what these people (and bots) do isn’t respectful arguing.
It’s name-calling.
It’s using words incorrectly, as if weidling a loaded word enough times makes the false accusation true.
It’s straw man fallacies and red herrings and attempts at “gotcha!” that don’t make sense.
Respectful arguing is something I love about being Jewish. I love how respectful argument participants work together to distinguish fact from opinion in an effort not to win but to learn through what might perhaps more accurately be called cooperative arguing because both sides understand the shared goal of broadening our minds and perspectives.
And the fact that these pro-Hamas people (and bots) want to spew ugliness and create their own reality instead of engaging in the beneficial work of uncovering complexity and nuance and varied perspective and actual historical and current realities … that’s something deeply — and inarguably — disturbing.

i hope you don't find this weird.
you and your writing were one of the factors that led to me finally completely abandoning religion, and i want to thank you for that. i feel free and even though i don't actually know you, i wanted to say that i'm grateful you exist.
First of all, this comment/statement came in a very long time ago, and it has lived with me ever since. I’ve been sitting on this for months, contemplating. Pleasantly haunted, perhaps? I don’t even know if I’ve arrived at a conclusion yet, and I just didn’t know if it needed replying to or not. I’ve gone back and forth multiple times — so many times, really. I finally decided, YES. I want to validate these words and express my gratitude.
Thank you, Beautiful Human.
Thank you for sharing this journey with me. It’s fucking hard, I know, and *I am here with you*. This is one of the singularly most difficult things to bear, but we’re all here with you.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
I never — not ever, not ONCE — thought that when I poked my silly fanfiction onto the internet that I would make anyone happy, let alone help them (even in a teeny way) out of what I feel to be a repressive worldview, but here we are. This is the power of words, cats, and THIS is why the Right Reich is all about banning books. About censoring words. BECAUSE WORDS CAN CHANGE LIVES. And you never know which words in which orders in which cases in which tenses — or even which LANGUAGE — will do the trick. So best to ban as many as possible! Keep the people in line. Ignorance is tantamount to compliance.
Well, fuck that.
I was taught that the pen is mightier than the sword, and goddamn it, my slick-ass fountain pen is a THOUSAND times hotter than your stupid gun. And, yes, I only write with fountain pens. I know this is spilling out everywhere, but that’s because I want you all to read this and know it’s heartfelt and have an ultimate takeaway — even if you, yourself, are religious (I have no problem…pro-religious expression!), even if you read three words of what I write and hate me, THAT IS GREAT! That’s your prerogative! THAT, my cat, is freedom.
Anyway.
Words can help. Words can heal. Words can change whole fucking *lives*. Words - even dumb ones - can help people arrive at the truth. Even words in gay Good Omens fanfic written on the internet.
Remember that.
I don’t know who this human is, but I am so, SO happy they exist. Thank you again, Intrepid Person. Stay strong.
I believe in you.
