I keep seeing this picture in ads for a silly buzzfeed article and as someone who loves Scrabble it irritates me. Like I’ve been playing Scrabble and later Words With Friends for a long time. My dad’s side of the family loves it and has a doubles Scrabble tournament every year, me and my aunt won a couple of years ago and it’s one of my great achievements 😉

That hand is not that bad! Like it’s not good by any stretch but it isn’t “God hates me” bad unless you drew that at the beginning and are supposed to go first. But that isn’t the case we can clearly see that a good number of words have already been played and there are many places to play on the board. You may not get a lot of points but you don’t have to throw them all back and lose a turn!

Here’s a list of Scrabble friendly words that you can play by adding one letter to the letters there. (Not a comprehensive list just words that I can think of off the top of my head that I know are playable without having to look it up).
