Playlist 100 ask: Matt & Skull x Billy (because I am spinning my wheels here)

I’d recommend this entire album for this btw. This is all interconnected.

Matt and Billy were polar opposites. Matt was a jock, open and outgoing, speaking whatever was on his mind, with zero filters, no matter how it’d affect anyone in front of him. Billy, on the other hand, came in the category of science nerds. He was closed and reserved. He seldom spoke what was on his mind, preferring to stay silent in places where he knew it’d be better for himself if he spoke up.

They had absolutely nothing in common.

Except Eugene Skullovitch, probably. Which was causing their very separate words to collide, every now and then. And messing Skull up in the process.

One of the most awkward moments of Skull’s entire life, happened to be that movie. Something about a car jumping over another car which was jumping over another car… or something.

Not like he was paying attention.

Officially he was dating Matt. However official it could get in the way they were keeping it, at least, because Skull kept saying they needed to keep their feelings out of it. And unofficially, he could see Billy burning around in jealousy which he didn’t even know when or where had been brought into existence.

Arguments with Billy. Him “borrowing” Matt’s shoes— much larger than his own size— and walking like five miles in them through mud and water and sewers to ruin them completely. Matt being overly protective, probably understanding all the animosity towards himself.

Who knew Billy would get this possessive or even… jealous.

And while Matt and Billy both trying to hold Skull’s hand in the movie at every car crash, and yelling loudly at each other for finishing the Red Bull or hogging the pop corn, was all super embarrassing… Eugene couldn’t help but admit this to himself: he was actually enjoying it.

a small moment of kindness that touched me today. speaking about our struggles as grad students in class with classmates. our small group is all BIPOC; another latine and two arabs, one who is palestinian. we are speaking very honestly about our fears and frustrations. feeling useless. feeling scared. upset at the world and its horrors. angry at other peoples' silence. but at the same time so so full of joy and hope. i talked about being scared of being forgotten, and we continued on with our group task of creating a liberation health triangle.

professor transitioned us back to the full class and while our professor began speaking again, my Palestinian classmate--so beautiful and with the most wonderful curls--leaned close to me and whispered "I'll never forgot you." I almost didn't hear her so i whispered back, "what?", and as sweetly as the first time she said, "I'll never forget you. And I'll never forget what you said last semester. You were the first person in this entire program who spoke of your frustrations. I felt less alone."

the walk home from class was very cold, but i could not help but let myself repeat the moment in my head over and over again.

Just did another re read of “warrior” (I swear I re read it every month and a half) and just wanted to pop in to say how much I love it! Genuinely it is the most fascinating character dive and AU in the fandom. I am utterly obsessed with it. I think one of my favorite aspects you incorporated was the social media side, and I was wondering if that’s something you plan on continuing in further installments? Id love to see dinluke get caught doing a keldabe kiss and then have every media outlet in the galaxy analyzing mandalorian customs hahaha!

Ahhhh, thank you so very much for sending this, and for your reads and re-reads!! It genuinely brings me so much joy to know 'warrior' continues to provide enjoyment and things to think about to its readers, even months after the last chapter was posted. <3

And I must say, it's especially pleasing to know that the in-world media/epistolary documents were well-received, as they were some of the most self-indulgent fun I've ever had writing anything! And among those, the media headlines and HoloNet articles were definitely some of my favourites.

I'd say that yes, we (myself and Caro) do intend to continue including elements of in-world media in future installments, though it definitely depends on the viewpoint character as to how much they get showcased! In this AU, Imperial High Prince Skywalker drank in those updates and memos and missives and headlines like water; in a sense, they communicated something of how much time and energy and effort he put into pan-galactic optics and how others perceived him. My guess is that Din and other future POV characters may not be quite as steeped in that kind of content, but ABSOLUTELY YES I'm hype to continue featuring them in future installments whenever it makes sense to!
