Do you have any recs for romance books? Your manga recommendation sounds pretty good. I like light hearted romance, but romance with some fantasy elements would be great too.

Yes! Okay, so, breaking this down into YA and Adult

YA wise:

-I've recently read and really enjoy Emma Hamm's of Goblins and Gold series, which has a more whimsical styling and is sort of a quicker burn enemies to lovers series that is very obviously inspired by the wizard of oz. It's got quicker pacing than most of her other books and a really lovable cast that will make you want to keep reading. At times it can feel like it was written for a really young audience but it can get a little bit more serious/heavier relationship wise around the third book. Fair warning though: the male lead slowly progresses into a himbo. It's on kindle unlimited so it's free to read if you have that subscription service but if you don't I believe physical copies of it are currently on worldshare, which is the national library system for america, and it might have the ebooks up in the uk systems?

-I've not currently read any contemporary ya romcoms, and my more recent reads ya contemporary wise have been comics, which is a bummer, but I do recommend Rainbow Rowell, save for Eleanor and Park which I just don't think of as her at peak performance or her being as progressive as she is now. She is really good at writing genuine friendships in her books and has amazing dialogue. What I like best about Rowell is that every single pairing feels like friends first and lovers second, which is a hard thing to do writing wise and honestly just so enjoyable to read. I guess the biggest ya book for her is Fangirl, but she coauthors a lot of series and often supports other writers with similar styles to her so she's always worth checking out. Plus she has a bunch of adult books too.

Adult recommendations:

-I love Ruby Dixon and she just came out with the Half-Orc King's Bride, and it is so funny. This is a medieval high fantasy book set in a really enjoyable world that has great characters, compelling scenes, and made me grin from ear to ear. It's body and age positive, encourages patience in relationships, and just has the typical Dixon sweetness. To me it reads like a a stereotypical high fantasy with a romcom twist, and if you like this book you should read other books in the series, which supports multiple authors. Not only does Dixon have one or two other books in this world, but Kati Wilde writes for it too and she really shines in the high fantasy setting.

-I loved You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle, it's a contemporary romcom where a couple gets engaged and while the woman is currently doing everything she can to put the relationship to an end the man evidently didn't get the memo and is trying to save it. To add to things, she misunderstands him and thinks that everything he's doing is to piss her off more. It's hilarious.

-Hot Under His Collar is not good, but you know what is it? Funny. So funny that I can't stand it. He's a priest just trying to stay a priest, and she's a hottie with a nice body just lusting over him. She ruins his life, it's great.

As you can see, I don't have any LGBTQAI+ recommendations here outside of the sparing amount in Rainbow Rowell's books because I've been having trouble finding lighthearted ones recently that are penned without being heavily sexualized, so if you have any recommendations in that niche, message me! I would love to see more and know more to recommend to others.

Tag 8 Mission Wanderlust 🇦🇹 🇮🇹 ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ Hallo zusammen 👋 🔹 🔹 Heut war es dann endlich soweit!! 😍 6 Uhr aufgestanden, 8 Uhr in Braies ( Südtirol / Italien ) und dann kam die 6 km lange Wanderung, wieder gefühlt nur steil Bergauf Richtung Ziel der Begierde, zum Lago Di Braies, oder auch Pragser Wildsee genannt! 💚💙 so schön, einfach nur so schön 😍 Der Pragser Wildsee (italienisch Lago di Braies) ist ein Bergsee im Pragser Tal in der Südtiroler Gemeinde Prags. Er liegt wenige Kilometer südlich des Hochpustertals in den Pragser Dolomiten. Er ist Teil des Naturparks Fanes-Sennes-Prags und damit ein geschütztes Naturdenkmal. Wir wanderten einmal um den gesamten See und versuchten die Schönheit dieses Orten vollends zu genießen. Am Ende hät ich uns noch früher aus dem Bett treten müssen, weil ab 9 Uhr merkte man dort wie voller es von Minute zu Minute wurde.
