What kind of demented, narcissistic jerkoff makes people reimburse him for the "gifts" he gives them?

Why is a supposedly higher being so fixated on the approval of mere humans? If I was obsessed with making sure the ants under my house adore me, I'd be regarded as mentally ill.

Psalm 63 is a psalm dedicated to the longing for God. Thomas Aquinas, father of the scholastic philosophy, tells us: "The knowledge that God exists is imprinted on everyone by nature" Question 2 Article 1. The desire for God as the desire for happiness, is a natural desire of the human soul; life and death put a limit on human existence and logically we want to find all the answers, the fear of death exists in all living beings but it is in the most spiritually advanced to overcome this fear. In God is all beatitude, that is to say, the fullness of spiritual goods, and this beatitude is the spiritual water and the spiritual bread for man, just as man needs bread and water for the body, there is also bread and water for the soul. The Psalm 63 teaches us that in the search for God we find these spiritual foods: "You, God, are my God earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water" Psalm 63:1. The Psalm continues and speaks to us of the love of God, of that love that is perfect and eternal, the love perfected by the nature of Good, the love of charity, for this love that is a gift we can worship the divine attributes of God. This love is a hidden treasure that we have to find through the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), there is nothing more important than this love the psalmist tells us: "I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands" Psalm 63:2-4. And this love (Agape) is the love that blesses us and gives us spiritual guidance and protection, like that the kings David and Solomon received during their lives: "Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings" Psalm 63:7. This psalm teaches us that the meaning of human life is the search for truth, that is, for God.

Zephaniah 1:5 Double Worship
Those who worship the host of heaven on the housetops; those who worship and swear oaths by the Lord, but who also swear by Milcom; Zephaniah 1:5 No one really likes someone who has a double standard, one who says or does one thing at one point, then suddenly does the very opposite the next time. In having double standards, it is difficult to know where a person really stands or what that…

Enjoying God
On the heels of last week’s thoughts around conversational intimacy with God, this past week I felt God impressing upon my heart how much I enjoy my relationship with Him, and that I should tell you about that. Enjoy God? you may wonder. How is that possible? What does that even look like? These are natural questions, especially in light of the mental image of God we probably all grew up with:…

True Worshippers Don't Have to Be Told to Worship God
The act of worship is expressed daily by every creation – nature, animals, the heavens, and mankind. This act that we do is praise. Praising is very important, and learning about it has and will do wonders for your life. That is why we do it so much! We praise at ballgames, concerts and celebrities idols. We don’t have a problem with praising anyone or anything. However, when the scriptures tell…

Feasting As Worship
Gathering to celebrate God’s goodness honors Him and blesses us. Leviticus 23:4-8 When the Israelites entered the Promised Land after years of wandering in the desert, God issued a strange command: Feast. Feasting and enjoying the bounty of the land were meant to tie the Israelites to different rhythms throughout the year—such as harvesting the first and last of the year’s crops. Festivals…
