South of England Road Trip 2/4
On the third day we stayed a bit in Brighton then we went to Worthing (it’s kind of the same vibe as Brighton but a bit smaller). We spent the night (and the one after that) near Chichester.

The next day we visited Arundel Castle, it’s probably my favourite thing that we did. It was the most beautiful day and the castle was incredible

Buckinghamshire VS West Sussex
Buckinghamshire and West Sussex are both counties in England, and they have distinct characteristics. Here's a brief comparison of the two:
Location:
Buckinghamshire: Located in South East England, Buckinghamshire is close to London and is known for its picturesque countryside, historic towns, and proximity to the Chiltern Hills.
West Sussex: Situated in the South East of England as well, West Sussex is known for its diverse landscapes, including the South Downs National Park, beautiful coastline, and historic towns.
Countryside and Landscapes:
Buckinghamshire: Known for its rolling hills, the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the Thames Valley, Buckinghamshire offers a mix of rural and suburban landscapes.
West Sussex: Offers a diverse landscape with the South Downs, which is a range of chalk hills, as well as coastal areas along the English Channel.
Economy:
Buckinghamshire: The county has a strong economy, with a mix of industries including technology, healthcare, and finance. It is home to some affluent towns and has good transport links to London.
West Sussex: The economy in West Sussex is varied, with a focus on agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism. It also has commuter towns and is within reach of London.
Towns and Cities:
Buckinghamshire: Includes towns such as High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Olney and Milton Keynes. Milton Keynes is a new town known for its modern planning and development.
West Sussex: Chichester, Worthing Littlehampton, and Crawley are among the towns in West Sussex. Crawley is known for its proximity to Gatwick Airport.
Historical and Cultural Attractions:
Buckinghamshire: Boasts historical sites like Bletchley Park, the former World War II codebreaking centre, as well as historic houses like Waddesdon Manor.
West Sussex: Features attractions such as Chichester Cathedral, Arundel Castle, and the Weald and Downland Living Museum.
Transportation:
Buckinghamshire: Well-connected to London by road and rail, with the M40 motorway passing through and several train services.
West Sussex: Accessible by major roads, and Gatwick Airport, one of the busiest airports in the UK, is located in West Sussex.
Ultimately, the choice between Buckinghamshire and West Sussex depends on personal preferences, lifestyle, and specific needs. Both counties offer a mix of rural charm, historical attractions, and economic opportunities.

Rob, fisherman and boat builder. I had quite a chat about the state of fishing, little boats like his verses bigger boats working together trawling up everything. He sat at the table where he enjoys meeting family and friends and cooking and eating the catch of the day

I'm going to be honest, right now I have the mental capacity of a baked potato and I'm getting really frustrated that my meat sack is failing me.
I have days where I think I'm doing OK, today is one of those. But yesterday wasn't. The hard days wipe me mentally as well as physically and I'm trying to keep going but it's just so fucking exhausting.
I have the Dr's on Thursday and we will see how much of the lung infection has gone, how much my lung has recovered and whether we will be going to the specialists. I just want it over and done with.
I've been fighting this since the 3rd May and (actually well before that but I didn't know what was going on till the 3rd). This has taken months away from me, birthdays, celebrations.
The only highlight I've had during this was that I've managed ONE proper day out and getting to meet Simon Miller at a wrestling event in Worthing. He's a fucking sweetheart. If you see him around in the indi circuit and/or small town venues, go watch him.
Yes, I'm the awkward potato in a wheelchair. Yes I am fully aware that I look really unwell and swollen. This is what happens when you go out with a collapsed infected abcess right lung surrounded with pockets of fluid.

General Sir Bernard Montgomery addressing the troops at Worthing, West Sussex, 25 May 1944. Montgomery was commander of the 21st Army Group which consisted of all the Allied ground forces that would take part in Operation Overlord, the invasion of Normandy. He is pictured here giving a speech to the men of 3rd County of London Yeomanry on the Manor Sports Ground during their stay at Worthing prior to embarking for the liberation of Europe. #ww2 #worldwar2 #worldwartwo #secondworldwar #history #military #militaryhistory #colourised #colorized #colorizedhistory #war #sussex #colorizedhistoricalphotos #westsussex #sussexgram #worthing #montgomery #britisharmy #colourisedhistory Original photograph by Major Wilfred Herbert James Sale, MC, 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), World War Two, Home Front, 1944. One of the most dangerous things in the world is not being able to say no to people because you don't want to upset them or dissapoint them. This will completely ruin your life in every way possible, at work, in your private life, your sex life and your friendships. It's a way of removing your own consent in your own decisions and go against your wishes, it is always a crime against yourself. Let yourself have a say. Upsetting people is better than traumatizing yourself.

Worthing Lido, it’s got history and I feel waiting for a revamp at some point. A small outdoor pool at one point, it now has a bandstand with no band, and a collection of some small fairground attractions, trampolines and slide, with a old fashioned cafe wrapped around it.
