In his native Hoenn, you will often find him taking you to fancy restaurants with Mauville or relaxing on the beach of Slateport. A special date he certainly wishes to share with you is watching a meteor shower at the Mossdeep Space Center together. Essentially, his dates vary quite a bit.

🪨 Steven does not really get jealous typically. He is confident in himself and trusts you entirely. Few people really go out of their way to flirt with the partner of Steven Stone, inheritor of the Devon Corporation, after all. If someone is especially pushy, however, he may step in simply to make sure you are comfortable and make it obvious to the other person that you are already in a relationship. If they still don't quit, he may just bring out his Metagross to “show it off.” Most people give up around that point.

🪨 Should you have been in Hoenn during the incident with the villainous team and legendary pokemon, he will request that you stay inside his home and wait for him to sort out the problem with Wallace. Steven was honestly a bit terrified to involve you, worried about your safety from both the team and the calamity that had started. It was rare to see his calm facade break with genuine, pure worry, so you likely heeded to his words.

🪨 Steven feels at ease around you, too. He knows you will not mind his eccentricities and allow him to go on about his fascinations. One moment he will tell you about why his prefers steel-types over any other type of pokemon before falling into a discussion about how Water Stones may vary between different regions. The Champion knows you see him as a person rather than an inheritor of the Devon Corporation or a pretty face. He just fails to express his contentedness in words. Wallace even approved of you for him, too.

🪨 Just by the nature of being in proximity to Steven, you learn many things about rocks. The pale haired man will eagerly show you his collection and explain how they are formed in nature, their original location, and whatever meaning they may hold. His passion for stones is simply something that you may find yourself invested in. The passion he holds is truly contagious. You find that any gift he gives you involving stones seems especially significant but him.

🪨 Pet names he tends to lean towards are stone related, naturally. “My gem” is a common among his dialogue, but there have been appearances from stones that he believes matches both your hair and eyes. He does use a rare precious, too. In a way, his fondness towards you is as strong as his fondness towards his rocks.

🪨 Overall, he has his moments of obviousness, but is a sweet and caring boyfriend. You tag along on his travels to various regions and locations, and he sees you as a beloved anchor for him. He knows you see him as a person, so he simply wishes to repay that kindness as much as he can, his love language definitely being gift giving. Steven wants to enjoy a life full of exploration and discovery with you and his massive rock collection, basically.

-besides him watching you draw, he absolutely loves when you go outside and paint. he loves how the colors you use pop as you capture the scenery and Pokemon around his home town. if it wasnt for his champion duties he would stay outside with you and watch you all day long.

-when you show him the drawings you made of him when he was battling/training he just gets so excited and stoked, and he praises you. "Woahh! You drew me! I look so cool, this is so cool! This is wonderful thank you so much!" this drawing made him fall in love with you all over again.

You quietly sat in the stadium lobby, finishing up the sketch of Leon that you began drawing earlier as he was battling against some trainer. Since Leon had just finished his match he was bombarded with fans and interviewers, which you were kinda happy about, only this once though. You wanted enough time to put the best detail in this drawing before showing it to him. After some time the crowed died down,and just then you had finally finished. -he always makes sure you take care of yourself when drawing. if you've been drawing for too long and neglecting your health and hygiene he helps you take care of yourself. and whenever your hand cramps from all the drawing he shows you the hand exercises other artists do when they draw.

-when you show him one of the many drawings you drew of him he has to take a couple minutes to take in what hes seeing, he has to have enough time to take in the magnificent drawing you drew. its the best piece of art hes ever laid his eyes upon, and he makes sure to tell you that. "This is the most beautify drawing my eyes have ever laid upon"

Grusha

One of the things he admires most about you is how well your vocals shift when the moment calls for it. You could sing gently to help pokemon sleep then scream at the top of your lungs to hype up a crowd. "Why is a special talent of mine~. Maybe I'll sing you a lullaby one of these days...what was your name Grusha?" That was the first thing you've ever said to him, the first time you've meet, since then he's always had this warm feeling in his chest

His dreams already died but whenever he sees you he always sees another dream flourish and bloom. One of the many reasons he's attracted to you

He doesn't admit it but he's very cat-like hell deny missing you when your on tour. Yet his actions say otherwise. You would leave to take a bath and he would offer to bathe with you. If you were cuddling somewhere your even more screwed. He'll pin you down making sure you can't move. He also refuses to offer affection verbally yet you wake up in his arms

Speaking of tours he can only go to the shows in Paldea. He's a gym leader he can't exactly leave. So you decided to Perform with Rhyme! It was crowded but at least he got to see you do what you enjoy

He doesn't tell you he isn't that into rock until you showed him more tone downed rock. "So does that mean you don't like the music I play?!" he'll die before answering that question.

You decided to take on the gym challenge. "I'll only use one Pokemon to nerf myself" "Why do you feel the need to do that" "Why I want this to be a fair fight hmmm" you change your position of a Pokemon and you begin the battle...was your motorcycle always um...standing on two legs?

Grusha isn't a big fan of Koridon especially after you just sat there using flamethrower to one shot his whole team. "I WON" you clasp your hands together. He sighs in defeat but at least you're happy.

"So where's my commemorative picture?" You smile mischievously "you have enough pictures of me already" "this one's gonna be special" he smiles under the scarf taking a picture with you. "Nice! Showing this to Koridon" "anyone but Koridon I beg of you"

He thought his old fans were bad...DEAR GOD YOUR FANS TATTOO YOUR NAME ON THEIR FOREHEAD. "No shame~. But at least I can use them to commit a crime for me ☆" "please never go through with that"

You and him often appear in interviews together. Every time the interviewer asked you a question about your relationship he narrows his eyes and just stares at you. "So how's Grusha like at home?" "Uh..." Grusha's staring you down. "Almost the same as when he's out" that's a lie he's almost attached to you at home. You've never seen someone so addicted to hugs. "Have you ever seen Grusha without the jacket? Can you describe his figure? "He has an amazing figure" You were about to nerd out in front of him when you felt someone look at you. It was Grusha... He's going to grumble about this as you drive him home you think. You look over at him. Even with that scarf, you can still see that disappointed face. He doesn't say anything about it he just sits there...disappointed.

"What I can't compliment my boyfriend in front of others" "it's not that" he pauses for a second the aggressive motion of Koridon underneath you two. He holds onto you tighter. "I get it...FREE FANSERVICE" There's silence between you two once again. "You know what never mind..." He holds you close even more, with barely any more space in between your bodies tucking his head into your back.

Your Koridon was such a party crasher, mood ruiner, fart cloud. He dosent like Koridon. You two could be in a heated moment and he would ruin it. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT INVOLVES FOOD. Date in a fancy restaurant? He would pop out the Pokeball and eat the food you were feeding HIM. He doesn't want to hurt your feelings by saying it out loud but your Koridons a Lizard cock block

The worst time he thinks Koridon ever cock blocked him was when you two were about to go to sleep and you got on top of him the moonlight hitting your face at just the right angle "good night dear" and just as you were about to kiss him you two hear rummaging in the kitchen. "HUH?! I'm gonna go check that out stay here" you walked out seeing Koridon's attempts at opening the fridge. "....are you serious" your Koridon looked pleased you opened it for him and let him pick something out before going back into his Pokeball. Walking back into the room you tell Grusha what happened. "Koridon was just trying to get a snack" "oh that's alright" ARE YOU SERIOUS?! THAT WAS THE MOST ROMANTIC YOU'VE EVER BEEN SINCE YOU CAME BACK FROM TOUR RUINED BY YOUR FREAKING SPACE LIZARD. He hated Koridon ever since. At this point, he tells you to ignore Koridon whenever you two are about to kiss. Just give him the smooch and you'll deal with it later 😾.

Whenever you're seen in public by a fan they usually just want a picture. One time someone posted where you and him were and you saw people suddenly line up in a cafe all lined up to see you. He sees you get overwhelmed and decides to lead you out of the establishment. "Hey hey-" "don't hey hey me your obviously getting stressed out" "but still I should be-" "They lead two blocks down" "oh...maybe I couldn't" "That's what I thought"

You like to sleep on him for his reaction. "What the heck are you doing" and you'd just be dead asleep. Whenever your not there his pokemon usually do that for you. Their mindset is probably, "second parents gone must give dad cuddles" sometimes they sleep on his face...not fun

Rika

She likes rock! And found your band out trying to get out of her comfort zone. She fell in love with more than just a voice that day. So she looked around your band's profile and found out you guys not only had a YouTube channel, but you were coming to Paldea! This was her chance.

You were performing when a technical error occurred, you took the chance and decided to talk to the audience. "And what might be your name sweet checks" may have been the first time she's flustered to answer her own name "Rika..." "Rika huh? That's a nice name rolls off the tongue" you get a message from staff that everything's fine and get up to continue performing. Ever since then, she's used that to fluster you. "Remember when you called me sweet cheeks?" "OH GOD"

You eventually moved to Paldea sending your parts of songs overseas to your producers and bandmates. Still meant you had to go to events with your band. Wasn't a problem till you get texts from Rika saying she missed you. "Bro your always looking at your phone you ok?" "It's just...I wanna see my girlfriend" "it's been 3 hours" "that's two days 😔" "..." they had to look up pictures of her to keep your head in the game. You always try to surprise her when you come back. Appearing behind her, waiting for her outside of gyms. Your bandmates call it laughing through the rivers of tears. She does miss you too she just doesn't say it out loud. She does try to touch you more often "Are you trying to figure out if I'm an Astral projection?!" "Are you?!" "AM I?!" You try to put your finger through yourself only to fail. Another thing Rika teases you for.

She knew you had a motorcycle like Pokemon she just didn't know how much of a cockblock it would be. She'd lay down and you'd take the chance to kiss her when Koridon pops out of his Pokeball. "OH KORIDON-" you're trying to hide Rika behind you as Koridon asks for food. She was disappointed but it won't happen twice...right? It did. You two were on a calm ride in an amusement park enjoying the view when you saw Koridon drift down toward you two. " what in the-" "HES AIR SWIMMING?!" LET HER HAVE HER KISS DAMMIT. She basically leaves Koridon's Pokeball on tables just so you and her could have intimate moments.

Speaking of Intimate moments, she pinned you to a wall in a semi-public area. "What's wrong? Cat got your tongue" "Rika- you know this isn't the time or place-" "oh come on surely no harm could come from teasing my s/o a little" "MOM IS THAT Y/N?!" You look at her with an I told you so glance as the kid begins to freak out seeing their idol. "And why are they getting pinned to the wall like that?" "Let's go honey those two are occupied" you were so embarrassed. You'd get her back sometimes pinning her to the wall yourself. "Finally caught you" you've got her pinned no escape. "Oh? This is a tad unexpected-" she isn't used to being flirted with you should have known this by your first interaction with her. You usually use this to your advantage pinning her to a wall and then just making a deez nuts joke or straight up staring at her and doing nothing.

You sometimes open up your guitar case to practice when she's not around when you do practice when she's around she nearly begs to try ending up in you two singing karaoke and leaving you too wiped it even sing tomorrow.

She likes telling you to try on her stuff and wear them to concerts. "My glasses look so cute on you! Please just for today!" "I have a concert but..I'll try-" your fans made edits of you with her glasses on. Witch, she will promptly shove in your face. "Y/n with glasses is something I didn't know I needed in my life~" "DON'T READ THEM OUTLOUDDD" you cover your face with a pillow. "Hehe"

You made a bet with her that if you soloed her team she would pay for dinner. She laughed at the idea at first she's an elite four member you sure? "Oh I'm very sure" "like your confidence dear-" she was going to eat her internal monologs words BECAUSE JESUS KORIDONS HUGE WHEN DID YOUR MOTORCYCLE SUDDENLY KNOW HOW TO FIGHT!?" "Guess your paying for dinner" you scoff. Now she's at a 50/50 with Koridon, he cockblocks her, and now he beat her ass...the only positive to that pokemon is that he helps you see her and she likes seeing you.

You somehow convinced her to put her hair down and dear god...."YOU LOOK LIKE OUR DRUMMER!" "is that a good thing or-" "he's so pretty hold on lemme find a pic" first Koridon cock blocking her now a love rival-. "LOOK!" "Eh he's not that good looking" "I'd turn into a mop if he told me too" "...what-" he had to explain to her that you two have an inside joke about how pretty each other were and she eventually agreed with the drummer that indeed...you're hot.

Despite the inside jokes, she knows you wouldn't cheat. How? Because you gush about literally every little thing she does. "She's just so AHHH you know what I'm saying bro" her Clodsire agrees with you. "Wish I was single again so I could ask her out again" you pause. "ANYWAY DID YOU NOTICE THE LITTLE SPIN SHE DOES WHEN BRINGING OUT POKEMON SHES SO HJSKZKZ" you can't put into words how much you love her. That's all the proof she needs to know you'll always be by her side.

Whenever you cover darker songs she thinks you're depressed or something. "Are you alright?" "Yea why" "you can tell me if anything bothering you you know" "yea why'd you ask?" "..." "is it because of the cover? We covered it because it sounded cool then we actually looked at the lyrics and realized how dark the song was... it still slaps tho so we covered it" "oh-" she's still checking for sighs only for those sighs to come in as deez nuts jokes. It's depressing how many deez nuts jokes you can make in a day.

You have this habit of putting tape on a piece of paper after scribing something. Then putting it on someone or something. So you started putting paper mustaches on Koridon and Clodsire. If she ever caught you you'd put on a disguise saying it was the "doodle bandit". She's surprised by how much tape you have-.

You had to pull Rika out of a bar once. While trying to get her to sober up and sleep she would be like "STOP I HAVE A S/O" you at this point were tired and kinda pissed off. So you smiled menacingly "what's your s/o like" "they're chaotic yet fun to hang out with, they're so soft too" she went into detail about how much she loved you while also telling YOU to stop touching her. Fortunately, you came up with the fastest way to sober her up or at least wake her up completely. "Hey, Rika you mentioned your s/o plays rock right?" "Howed you know" with your guitar plugged in you started playing loudly. Fortunately not screaming directly in her ear, but enough to let her verify you. "You sound like my s/o..." "I am your s/o" "nah they're way prettier than you" "...." You did not give Rika a good night after that. You made sure she slept on the couch till she came back to her senses.

She likes her cuddles so, if you do not deliver that night she'll be salty. "Are you too good to give your gf cuddles" "Rika I told you I roll over a lot when I sleep" "well then I'll roll ON you so you have no choice" "pardon?" She took that literally. You weren't able to move last night because she decided to sleep on your chest. She is expecting you to pat her head as she drifted off to sleep. "Good night dear" you don't tell her this but the reason, besides you being a messy sleeper, why you don't give her cuddles is that her heartbeat quickens rapidly and you didn't want to cause any medical problems

She likes wearing your band's merch to fluster you. "Ah seriously" you cover your face peaking a bit then closing the peak. "It's so cringy~" "I think it looks great" "ahhh save me-" You mumble. You wear a shirt with your band's name on it too, so why not match to share the cringe you know. If anyone notices you blame her. "Yea I'm a fan...but Rika here's a HUGE fan I just like the shirt" "you look like the vocalist...sound like em too..." a fan looks at you like your being interrogated."That's only a coincidence!" You smile nerviously "oh look at the time ill be seing you!" you nearly run away from the conversation running with Rika. She thinks that your reaction will never get old.

I'm looking for advice. I'm looking to get a partner pokemon of my own, but the only experience I have is with my family's buneary. I've always loved scolipedes, but I've also heard that pidoves are friendly and intelligent pokemon... do you have tips for either of these, or general advice for a new solo pokemon owner?

i may be a bit biased lol...but pidove make great first pokemon to raise on your own! i recommend getting at least two to start so that they can help keep each other company, because they're social little guys. pidove are kind of well known for not being the brightest...but they have one of the most amazing memories of any pokemon! so they're not gonna be big problem solvers, but simple puzzle toys and memory games are great ways to entertain them. theyre definitely friendly- my pidove love sitting on my head or shoulder!

scolipede's tougher. i don't usually recommend poison types as a first pokemon, and the venipede line is known for its aggression. they need a good bit of space and places where they can root around for food. their venom is also powerful enough to disable a human, so i'd only get one if you're feeling very confident- and certainly don't try to evolve it too fast. a different bug or poison type would really be better for your first mon.

as far as general tips- remember that your vet and the pokemon center are your friends! they're your first and foremost contact for questions and concerns. and also- remember that you're going to make mistakes in your care, and that's okay. raising pokemon is harder than people make it sound sometimes. if someone trustworthy tells you that you need to change something you're doing, it doesn't mean that you're a bad trainer. you're just learning things as you go, and everyone inevitably screws something up. as long as you're doing your best for your pokemon and fixing things that need fixing, you and your pokemon will be okay.

What A Year For Games! Top 10 Games of 2023 For Little Lesbians Like me!

I am on and off again with video games often switching between years where I am really into games and years where I am snoozing but I started to dedicate myself to finding and sharing more sapphic art so people can stop saying it doesn't exist lead me to playing tons more games and wow I played so many fucking amazing games this year it was an extremally hard year to pick a top 10 games. Now these aren't a top 10 sapphic games, it's just the best 10 games of the year, on an objective scale because I am the goddess of this world and there for right. Not all of these games will have come out in 2023, it's games I played in 2023 why limit ones self?

These games are roughly in order by how confident I am to put them on this list but each of these games did something different than me so I wouldn't say that a game is "better" rather than what I got out of it at the end of playing felt biggest.

Stray Gods

It's a musical, it's a video game, it's Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical. This game is a really fun little Greek myth story telling experience with an neat interoperation of myth and the characters to provide a fun experience to people with or without attachment to the stories. The dynamic music changing to your choices is a really cool concept although I wish more of the songs were a bop. I also wish the game explored the idea of polyamory like the Greek gods were not monogamous and I see no reason I can't kiss Freddie and Persephone in the same playthrough. What is there though is still compelling, fun, and engaging with a great set of characters across the board romanceable and not.

Pokémon Emerald Rouge

Pokabbie's amazing Pokemon Rom Hack that shows the utterly wild shit possible for Pokemon experiences we could get. It's amazingly fun to do runs of Pokemon where you catch new pokemon, fight trainers and get to then recatch that species to use in later runs. It's a really great gameplay loop that really just uses what's fun about pokemon and allows for a lot of different run customization which leads to the loop not getting stale and makes it easier to find particular pokemon you want. This was my favorite Pokémon experience this year.

Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 has some of the worst monetization to date in fighting games. However, despite that it provided a lot of fun to me this year playing the base game's amazing World Tour mode and in enjoying the greatly designed new characters who I hope become Street Fighter staples. All while making my favorite SF character Juri even better with new interactions, a little bit of progress to her story and more. I hope that World Tour mode encourages a lot of other fighting game devs to step up the single player experiences in Fighting games and I also hope [as seems to be the industry trend] that "modern" controls take over. It was so nice to be able to do all the special moves consistently and more easily feel like I was in control of the game rather than feeling light I was fighting my hands to move out an input.

Drums Of War

I sure do wish a Fire Emblem game came out in 2023, it's been so long since Three Houses and Hopes is amazing but not the SRPG gameplay I came to love. Well if there was a Fire Emblem game I am sure it would have ENGAGED me, wait, there was the amazing Fire Emblem rom hack Drums Of War. Parrhesia utterly killed it with this take on Fire Emblem. The heart of the story being an emotionally damaged lesbian and the dancer with a big secret who fell for her makes for an utterly captivating romance paired with a real "war is hell" story that really does it's best to show you how fucked all sides of this conflict are until the player finally gets to forge their own path forward. Roxelana and Calista would be among my most favorite Fire Emblem lords if I was ranking them alongside all the lords of the series with both characters being utterly delightful and some charming side characters too like Estrelle. The gameplay itself aired a bit on the harder side to what I like but regardless I had a great time with the majority of maps and by the end of it I think I finally managed to get with the curve of the difficulty even if I wish there was an easier mode.

Cassette Beasts

The soundtrack alone would put this game on this list but luckily it has even more than a soundtrack. The whole cast are really charming, I totally fell for Viola and the other characters all have their own special charms. The game has plenty of faults I talked about in my review of it but despite the flaws of the game basically right until the very end where it massively declined for me this was one of the best games in all of monster tamers for me. The DLC was sadly not so great that came out later in the year but I didn't mind giving the extra money to the devs when the core game was so good. The monster taming is fun, the gameplay feels flexible enough for you to find the niche you like to play in and become really good at that niche, it allows for a lot of flexibility from folks who wanna swap partners all the time to people who will find their favorite characters and monsters and stick with them. I really hope the developers keep moving forward with Cassette Beasts and making new strives forward with their concepts because of all the indie monster tamers I've played this is leaps and strides above the rest.

En Garde!

This extremally short little romp is a compelling experience that is just a little bit longer than your average modern block buster. It's a simple and sweet swash buckling game where you play as a bisexual vigilante woman with a big crush on a sexy pirate woman trying to stop the oppressor of the people's evil schemes. Each chapter is like another adventure of Zoro short and puppy, fun and with ever so slight tension but you know the hero will come up on top. It's a really good experience and it has some great accessibility features for folks with reflex issues like me to still be able to enjoy it. The music is staller, the voice acting is fantastic, it's a great package that instead of padding itself out fills every second with greatness.

Luxaren Allure

I am a massive fan of turn based RPGs, I love getting to look at menus and think about my actions, being able to multitask while I play, enjoy a big juicy narrative and so I was very happy to play a JRPG style experience that's all about lesbians. An amazingly fun concept for a JRPG plot where one woman's beloved whom she chickened out of confessing too gets corrupted by an evil power and she is tasked with being the hero to take her out. This gives the interactions and the end goal a sense of uncertainty, will this be a sad case of tragic yuri, will she find joy with someone else, will she be able to save the woman she loves from this evil power, will she submit to the evil herself to be by her side? Everything feels uncertain with just this little angle added to a fairly typical JRPG formula. All while on the side having an adorable romance between a naga and a human girl giving us the good good lesbian sweetness between the dramatic tension.

Baldur's Gate 3

I am so often the contain, the noted hater but not on this day, nay I say, it was pretty fucking fun. The game is flawed, pretty flawed, like it's got a lot or fantasy racism shit I hate, it's tied to an IP I hate, it's got so many bugs that happened on my own run but if there is one game from this list I will probably think of the most and play the most in 2024 and beyond from this year it's probably this game. The games depth of interactivity, the wide breath of options, and the mods, oh the mods, the many many many mods, this game has so much to do and will for a very long time. It's rare to get a truly great multiplayer game and this game also provides that, this is a fantastic experience for playing online with others and makes for really great runs. Then there is the romances, oh the romances are really great, the girls are all fantastic and the side queers are super brilliant too. It's just a really fun video game and it does a good job exploring trauma and different takes on abusive relationships and overcoming [or succumbing] to them.

Thirsty Suitors

What a fucking great game, while the gameplay is mostly quick time events it does an amazing job of making each aspect of the game feel distinct from each other. While skateboarding in general kinda sucks in this game the combat and cooking all feels really great. Then there is the vocal performances and writing which are all fucking stellar. It's really great to see a fully fleshed out and fully real feeling queer woman who has had messy exes of all genders and has done a lot of fucked up things in her time. Jala's road to redemption with her family and exes all feels really great and this is a special story and I realized sometime after there is some level of variance too that I could have seen if I made some different choices. It's really great and even if it's not a dating sim like I thought it might be it's still a really great little thing. Then you factor in all the cool queer brown people in this game and wow, like I felt so scene by this game like the angry mess Tyler is speaks to my little transbian heart, the high fem lesbian struggle with family that Diya has I could feel echoed in my own life, I just, wow, it was great. I am so happy this game exists and I will likely always see this among the best narratives in all video games.

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood

My game of the year, The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood fucking blew me away. In a shocking twist of fate while I complained about a lot of endings this year I didn't like my original ending for The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood either but then that drove me to go from liking the game to loving it as I ran the game again in spite of it, fueled by spite alone I felt a sense of determination, I would change my fate! This thematic fortune telling game where you make your own cards, help people or end up seeing a fate that only hurts them, I knew how to play it, I knew the systems now, I understood how the cards worked, the truth of my powers and the price I agreed to pay and I'd use all of that to make the happiest fucking story possible for Fortuna aka ME. So I dart through the game, I help the trans woman be herself and happy, I get my hot butch girlfriend, I help everyone out with their life problems crafting only the best cards possible to make sure I can give the best fates possible and then I hit the end point, the time to pay the price. I say no, the game says, you have to, I keep saying no, and then I draw my cards again and shape fate and in that I defied fate, made an ending I could be happy with, a better world for all my fellow witches, and so my story ends with my friends back by my side [probably gonna be a polycule] and a whole lot to look forward to. What a fucking experience, what a cool fucking game.

The very first one that comes to mind is one I've had that triggers when her Glimmora's Toxic Debris activates

Cereza giggles (in like a smug smirking way) and says "That's gonna sting-!"

Her victory line would likely depend on the situation, though her default would likely be her stretching then jumping up and down "Freaky cool! That was a blast, hell yeah!" and pumping her fist in the air, that or leaning forward with her signature freaky grin with a line along the lines of "Your *insert lead pokemon* was wicked! You gotta tell me how you're training a gem like that-" (She's very talkative lmao)

Her defeat line would involve her getting annoyed, her lip would twitch into a frown before laughing it off (almost wrly) and rubbing the back of her neck. Her eyes get a little sharper and her smile is lopsided (though it doesn't seem all the way genuine) as she says "Those are good partners you've got! There's a strong bond between you guys for real..." that or the starry look in her eyes shatters and she takes a step back, returning her pokemon and looking to her pokemon before her opponent. Her lip tugs down into a frown as her eyes crinkle, she grits her teeth. "I'll do better for you guys next time, I swear it." (She prioritizes Pokemon over the trainer) I feel like if she gets a supereffective hit her dialogue is specific to each Pokemon, I'll elaborate on that in the eventual Pokemon team rundown post!!

If her Pokemon were to take a supereffective hit she would wince but hold her grin (sometimes grimace if it drops her pokemon to red all at once) "It'll take more than that to keep me down." Her smirk would widen or her grimace would darken depending on the previously mentioned context.

Pokemon on low HP would be similar to supereffective hit. She runs a hand through her hair, brushing her hair away from her face momentarily as her eyes close, as if thinking. She taps her foot (a habit I hc Kieran picked up from her!!) as she says her line. "You know backing a wild Pokemon into a corner only makes it bite harder, right?"

Pokemon fainting would include her returning her Pokemon to its ball then her nodding at the ball as she send out her next Pokemon. "Hope you aren't under the impression that you've got me on the ropes." She cracks a wide grin as she sends out her next Pokemon. MOST OF HER VICTORIES ARE LOW HP LMAO She'd likely get super starry eyed and pumped and have an animation with the one or two Pokemon that were on the field where she shows them affection or hugs them in some way. I'll try to remember to include each individual reaction in the post with all her pokemon. Extra!!: She smiles and grins her freaky little grin more around Kieran as an idle animation. If Kieran is in his emo phase, she'll glance at him for a few seconds and her pupils dilate a bit if you squint

Her intro animation involves her trying to 'spook' the camera with a pose similar to the ghost z-move pose, with her hands like claws and her freaky little grin (she just leans into it at this point) THIS WAS SERIOUSLY AN AMAZING ASK If you have any other questions, headcanons, ideas, etc don't hesitate to ask!

SHUNTARO CHISHIYA

Psychic and Ice type trainer

His starter pokemon is obviously a Froakie, now an over powered Greninja

His team consists of Greninja, Espeon, Vanillux, Frillish (who he sometimes switches out with Solosis), a Galarian Meowth, and a mighty Kadabra.

He completed two of his Pokedexes in his first 3 years of being a trainer.

Treats his pokemon team like a sports team. he’s the coach and he trains his pokemon to be the best.

One day, he last the Pokeball containing Espeon when it was still an Eevee, he retraced his steps so far that he ended up getting lost in a forest. When he found the Pokeball, Team Rocket was already there, trying to take his Eevee. He fought them so hard that even though he got a few injuries, nevertheless he won. Letting his Eevee out, he celebrated internally, and little did he know, the Eevee was two seconds away from evolving.

Even though Greninja was his starter, his little Espeon will always be his favorite.

SUGURU NIRAGI

Fire type trainer (oops)

The team he built contains Torracat, Charizard (evolves into the Y form to be specific), Cinderace, Blaziken, Litleo, and Houndoom

Keeping things simple, he only catches fire type pokemon with a dash of fighting types.

He has huge respect for his pokemon, they're the ones fighting, not him. When they are all out of their Pokeballs, he treats them like his best friends and always takes care of them.

When in battle, he makes sure to always burn his opponent on the first move.

HATES grass-type trainers and grass-type pokemon in general. He thinks of them as useless since they're weak against most types.

His amazing pokemon story as a trainer would be when he first got his Litten in high school. The Litten he received HATED him at first. Every time he would try and train it, it would always end up with him having cat scratches all over him. It was only until his bullies at school approached him with their pokemon and tried t attack him. The Pokeball in his pocket opened by itself revealing the Litten, and Fire Fang’ed those kids back to their mommies.

from then on. he realized the problem was the Pokeball, and that he can't just be too bossy over the Litten, since it had a mind of its own as well. Every night after that, he would sleep next to the Litten like his very own companion throughout his journey.

RYOHEI ARISU

Fighting and Electric type trainer

his team has Gallade, Lucario, Luxio, Pancham, Togedemaru, and Marshadow

As the dedicated trainer he is, he’s completed 4 of his Pokedexes in just a year of training. It was mostly because he loved to collect regular pokemon and always trained them to get their evolutions instead of catching an already evolved pokemon.

Treats his pokemon like his pets, always handing out treats, playing and buying them new toys, and eating with them.

He always battles with a balance of fun and strategy. He loves to knock out the opponent on the first move, and when they switch out their pokemon, he paralyzes them.

Never uses a normal Pokeball due to his laziness, even though he’s broke, he will never buy a Pokeball. Rest assured that he’s stocked up on Great and Luxury balls.

Talking about being stocked up, he has EVERYTHING. when I say everything I mean it. He often goes away from the city for a long time to collect new pokemon. Potions, poke dolls, repellents, you name it he has it.

His Bulbasaur that he received as he started died due to some failure in its organs. That death was something instead of being grieved too much, took it as a lesson in life on how every living thing could die at any moment. He used this lesson to always spend time with the people he loves and makes sure that all his pokemon know how much he loves each and one of them, no matter how many times they fail in battle, his pokemon will always be his best friends no matter what.

leaving alola behind him, reides the kingdra headed for generation 8 of the pokemon games in his quest for more ribbons! gen8 of these games feature the galar region (via pokemon sword and shield) as well as the sinnoh region (via pokemon brilliant diamond and shining pearl)! this leap to gen8 was super alarming, as my beloved kingdra moved from the 3ds to the current nintendo console - namely, the nintendo switch! it's crazy to think about how this whole journey began on my copy of emerald version, slotted into my pleasantly clunky brick of a grey ds.

reides' journey through the generations has been filled with its highs and its lows, but once he arrived safely in pokemon home, it meant that i could be a bit flexible with my approach to the ribbons available in swsh and bdsp! (it also meant bidding farewell to my shoddy photos of my (3)ds screen for these posts... they will be missed...)

anyway, before i get into the story of reides' gen8 journey, i gotta do my customary shoutout to all the other parts of his ribbon master quest. it's really easy this time around, as i finally put together an index for these posts on my personal site! you can find it here! that page also has a lot of information about the challenge itself, along with some helpful resources if you'd like to take it on. as always, you can also peek in my ribbon master tag on this blog, too.

if you're all caught up with the story so far, it's time to get started on a brand new chapter.

transferring reides into my copy of pokemon shield was a really emotional experience. kingdra looks absolutely gorgeous on the switch, and i was blown away by how awesome the shiny form looks, too. this moment on the beach at sunset - with a galarian slowpoke and a kingler lurking close by - felt pretty cinematic. it was also really nice to see my trainer character again! i absolutely love all of the different fashion items available in swsh. immediately, i knew that i had to make my ribbon mastery team a big ol' pot of curry for all of their hard work thus far.

we also played together while we camped out. i was really glad that i was already in shield's post-game, as it saved a whole lot of time on this ribbon master journey AND meant that i'd have tons of toys for my pokemon at my disposal.

after goofing around for hours, i finally decided to take on the first ribbon available in galar. this ribbon was the galar champion ribbon, which your pokemon receive upon entering the galarian hall of fame. i ended up needing to play through the galarian star tournament first, though, as i had procrastinated on doing that for the longest time... so reides ended up taking part in a few more battles than one would think!

it was absolutely awesome to see dynamax in action with reides! it made me wish that kingdra got a gigantamax form, but i guess that would be a bit too amazing for anyone to handle, huh? while taking on this ribbon, i also realized just how much i missed the vibes of the gym challenge in the galar region. the wide stadiums, the cheering crowds, the MUSIC... all of it is so incredibly top-tier and it really got me pumped up! not to mention seeing the absolutely INCREDIBLE cast in action. shoutout to everyone but especially piers. all hail the reigning king of the pokemon punks.

anyway, reides was eventually able to sweep his way to victory in both the galarian star tournament as well as the league battles. he joined the hall of fame and got the galar champion ribbon!

with that handled, it was time to take on galar's battle tower. according to most, this battle tower is an absolute cake-walk, as you can dynamax while most of your opponents (barring leon) can't. it was just a matter of buckling down and spending the time required to amass your wins. as a result, i ended up abandoning the tried and true durant strat and instead took the og trio of albatross, origin and reides, himself, along for the ride.

hilariously enough, i ran into ONE road-block in this tower in the form of a shedinja which i could literally not attack. i had NO moves that could get past its guard... sobs. but another nice thing about the galarian battle tower is that it isn't streak-dependent, instead swapping over to a system relying on ranking up or ranking down. so i brushed off this shedinja encounter without letting it get to me all that much, haha! i also taught albatross shadow ball... just in case.

ribbons also got a bit of an upgrade in the switch games of pokemon. no longer limited to just being pretty graphics on the ribbon screen, you can now equip one ribbon on your pokemon and give it a little title every time you send it out in battle. i equipped the ribbon that reides got for mastering all of the contests in omega ruby, which granted him the title of 'shining star'!

it was so nice to see it every time i sent him out, but i can definitely see myself swapping between all the various titles at reides' disposal!

my climb to the master ball rank was fairy uneventful, though i really understood this child's plight. it's how i felt many times while in various battle towers during this ribbon master journey.

eventually, i made it through the rank itself and got to the final battle against leon. though i had faced him at the end of each rank prior to this moment, it still felt very intense to encounter him knowing that this was my very last battle tower match for the forseeable future. also, his battle tower outfit is SO DRIPPY. love him so much.

not gonna lie, it was pretty funny seeing him say something so inspiring while looking so sad (and the snowscape from one of dynamax-form reides' attacks really added to it). leon is an absolutely amazing character and one of my fav champions ever, though, so i was thrilled that he got to be the final match in my battle tower saga!

even though the swsh battle tower was WAY easier than the others that i faced, i was still so happy to be done with it. my goodness. i really went from ignoring the battle towers in the series to gaining streaks of ~50 in each and every one... it's kind of unreal. reides truly earned the title of 'tower master'!

upon getting the tower master ribbon, we were done with galar. i was sure to make my pokemon team some more curry before they set off for sinnoh! but i honestly wasn't too torn up about leaving galar, as pokemon home lets us shift pokemon between the switch games however we'd like. after so many one-way transfers out of prior generations, it felt kind of surreal - and was also a huge relief.

this cute curry wasn't the only treat that got eaten, either! i made some pokemon cookies in Real Life to celebrate, as well. i used cookie cutters from the official pokemon store to make these pikachu and munchlax cookies!

i then set my sights on the remake of diamond version... pokemon: brilliant diamond!

the last time reides visited sinnoh, he did so via my childhood copy of diamond version. as i wrote in my post about the gen4 part of reides' journey, this copy of the game was already in the post-game, so i didn't have to play through any of diamond's plot whatsoever when he arrived. however... for this sinnoh visit, i actually didn't have a post-game available! despite owning brilliant diamond since the day it released, i had barely played it. (fun fact: in my first run of the game, i ran into a shiny bidoof on my very first night playing it. i ended up transferring all of the pokemon in it - bidoof included - to pokemon home and restarting it, though, as i was toying with the idea of doing a shiny starter hunt... and then i simply never touched it. so i guess restarting it was actually a waste of time. weeps.) i knew that i'd need to play through its plot to get the ribbon that reides needed, so... you know what that meant.

it was time for a whole other adventure to begin.

i decided to keep reides in the pc for the storyline part of this playthrough. i wanted to raise a team of pokemon from the sinnoh region, and i knew that reides' status as a fully ev and iv trained pokemon at level 100 meant that he would absolutely STEAMROLL the plot. we still went on walks together very often though, and he had his pal hammer the garchomp in the pc for company! (i usually raise a garchomp for my sinnoh teams, as it's one of my fav pokemon in the sinnoh region, but i decided to try to resist this time around and limit myself to pokemon that i had never raised before!)

i absolutely loved my brilliant diamond playthrough. the art direction is a point of contention in the pokemon fandom, but i'm a big fan of it! it seems like people either love it or hate it, and, thankfully, i'm definitely in the 'love' camp! the chibi style is endlessly charming, and the environments were just gorgeous. something about the lighting in brilliant diamond is just SUPER pleasing to me, and re-visiting sinnoh like this allowed me to really appreciate it. since my diamond file was in the post-game, i guess needing to play through this one in its entirety actually kinda worked out in my favour, huh?

i was super delighted to see that the ribbons screen is absolutely gorgeous in this game, too! i really like the status screen featured in bdsp. it's so nice and colourful.

this simple little screenshot is also really important to me. you see, when i was a kid, i got diamond version as a gift from a family friend. he'd gone abroad and generously brought back it back as a present for me. back then, the country that i live in didn't get pokemon games in a timely manner at all (we'd get them in video game stores months after they released in the u.s.), and i actually had no idea that diamond version even existed. (not knowing that a new pkmn generation dropped was a recurring experience in my childhood, LOL.) so playing this game for the first time made for a really magical experience. i have a very, very clear memory of playing it for hours and hours on the night that i started it up... until i could barely keep my eyes open. i trained my team a whole lot and was exploring this route right outside of jubilife, and i thought that the small island on the water was very pretty. i saved there for the night, imagining my trainer setting up a little camp for herself and her pokemon... and now, every time i'm on that route, i can't help but smile at the memory. so you can imagine just how happy i was to take a photo with reides there, with the updated graphics and everything!

furthermore, on the course of my sinnoh journey, i ran into lots of old friends... including none other than riley!

thanks to the way he helped me out in the gen4 battle tower, riley is a really special character to me now. so i was really happy to see him and play through iron island with him! after thwarting team galactic, he surprised me with a little gift.

i actually wasn't planning on raising a riolu - much less a lucario - on my main team AT ALL... but, upon receiving this egg from riley, i knew i had to. as silly as it may sound, i thought it would be a great nod to our time in the battle tower all those generations ago! and so, on that note, here is the storyline team that i journeyed through sinnoh with, and who helped reides get to where he needed to be:

as you can see, there's a bit of a theme going on with their nicknames! i decided to name each member of my brilliant diamond team after in-universe berries. i thought it'd be cute!

anyway, the berry bunch and i had a fantastic time exploring sinnoh. days passed, and, eventually, we faced what i believe to be the most difficult league in any of the pokemon games... including the most daunting champion battle ever.

cynthia lived up to her status as the most skilled champion in the pkmn franchise thus far. we had a battle for the ages, knocking 5 of each other's pokemon out. i actually almost lost to her - she had me completely backed into a corner. but my team pulled through, as kelpsy the glaceon MIRACULOUSLY toughed out an attack that should have knocked him out (via the affection system - namely, if your pokemon really loves you, they can occasionally 'survive' attacks that'd knock them out with 1hp instead) and managed to land a single ice beam on her garchomp. this clutched out the win, and my team was added to the sinnoh hall of fame.

now that i had access to the post-game, i could focus on reides once more. to get his ribbon in brilliant diamond, we'd have to foray into the brilliant contest scene.

brilliant contests are a calibre above the typical condition contests and are linked to all of your contest stats rather than just one. you actually don't gain access to this category unless you've achieved a master rank win in all of the solo-stat categories. luckily, ribbons from oras are recognized in bdsp, so reides didn't have to prove his worth to the judges and could instead get right to competing in the brilliant contests.

in addition to this category, bdsp also introduced some new contest mechanics, too. your final contest score can be split into three parts: 'visual', 'dance', and 'move'. these all seem pretty self-explanatory; the visual part is linked to your pokemon's contest condition/sheen, the dance part is linked to how well you perform in the rhythm game, and the move is linked to your timing in executing the one contest move that you're allowed to take in with you during the contests. but the visual part actually has an element of added complexity in bdsp, as it also involves a new mechanic of placing stickers on your pokemon's pokeball so that cool effects play when you send them out. (this feature was also in the gen4 sinnoh games, albeit not incorporated into those games' contests.)

the effects which these stickers play have a direct impact on your pokemon's visual score. however, for brilliant contests, normal stickers don't really cut it. instead, people recommend grinding out champion stickers (from taking on cynthia's rematch team post-heatran plotline) and showstopper stickers (from beating the other master rank contests) in order to get a decent appeal score. since reides didn't need to take on the master rank contests, i didn't have any of those - and i wasn't all too interested in grinding for more. i figured that grinding out champion stickers would work out better, since they give more points in the visual portion of the contest, anyway.

before starting that grind, i decided to give the brilliant master contest a try with nothing but the base-game stickers. given reides' perfect contest stats from omega ruby, i wondered if his contest skills would be enough to scrape through and secure a win.

as it turned out...

...they were not. people are NOT exaggerating when they talk about the difficulty of the brilliant master rank contest!! i was pretty shocked that my lovely kingdra was getting absolutely terrible visual ratings. (LIKE, LOOK AT HIM!! LOOK AT HIM!!!!!!! HE'S SO CUTE!!!!!!! AND PERFECT!!! AND SWEET, TOO!!!!!!!!) anyway, my outrage aside, it turns out that using those two types of stickers to boost your pokemon's visual rating is pretty much a necessity. the rhythm game portion of it is also not to be underestimated and typically requires a bit of practice. luckily, i'm fairly decent at rhythm games, but i knew that i would have to get those stickers from cynthia after all. i played through the pre-requisite bit of the post-game - catching heatran in a premier ball! - and made my way back to the league. with my storyline team vibing in the pc and my ribbon mastery team ready to FIGHT, i got settled and began grinding out the battles.

initially, i intended to get 20 champion stickers on the ball so as to fill it up entirely with them. after getting 8 stickers in one night, though, i was kind of worn down and decided to give the contest another try. i also taught giga impact to reides, as it's SUPER good in the bdsp contests (your pokemon gains a big boost to its score when you use it while you have a positive 'jam' score in the dance game) and can be easily bought in the veilstone department store. i was delighted to see that my protag's mother - johanna - was there for this contest, as well as gym leader fantina. both johanna and fantina are great at contests in-universe, so i was excited at the prospect of at least succeeding on this contest round, even if reides didn't manage to clutch out the win.

...however, by some miracle, reides managed to do just that!! not only did i finally manage to succeed in the brilliant master rank contest, but reides also secured the win. at this point, it was, like, 4 in the morning for me. i was absolutely astounded; i actually wondered if i was somehow hallucinating. the twinkling star ribbon was the one and only ribbon that i needed in brilliant diamond, and after so much work to get to this point...

...it was finally granted to reides!!!

upon recieving this ribbon, reides acquired all of the ribbons that he needs in order to be a ribbon master... save for ONE. one (1) single ribbon stands in his way... and that ribbon is the one that's granted to a pokemon for emerging victorious in a master ball ranked online battle. now, i can technically get this ribbon by putting reides back in pokemon shield and trying to climb the ladder in gen8... but, as you likely know, the current gen (as of me writing this post) is gen9. that means that the gen8 battle servers are... well...

empty.

okay, no. they're not entirely empty. but people have stories of waiting for hours to get into one single match, and i'm not sure if i want to put myself through that unless i absolutely must. and i might just have to, as kingdra hasn't been officially announced as part of the generation 9 pokedex... however, with indigo disk on the horizon (3 more days!!!), i figured i'd wait to see if kingdra would be included in its national dex before subjecting myself to gen8's very delayed match-making times. if it isn't, i'll just devote another post to my competitive climb in lieu of a gen9 one. (tbh, i'm considering making a totally seperate blog post for my very first foray in the vgc realm regardless - but we'll see how it goes!)

either way, i really, really enjoyed my time with reides in gen8. it has been so awesome to see him in games that i can play with the most up-to-date nintendo console, and kingdra's models across the switch games have just been so incredibly snazzy. i said this at the start of the post, but it truly is crazy to see just how far my little shiny horsea from emerald version has journeyed. i love reides so very much and i couldn't possibly be more proud of him!!!

so let's keep our fingers crossed that reides will be allowed into gen9 so that he can explore the paldea, kitakami, and unova regions! thanks again for cheering him on, and i'm looking forward to writing another update soon!!! that update may very well include reides finally achieving full ribbon master status at long last, so i'm already excited for it! :D

ning yizhuo x reader

(REQ): pokemon trainer!ning, rivals to lovers

A/N: it's yiz's bday and i have nothing complete to post, so here's a tiny bit of a draft! this isn't proofread!! ...sorry.

Synopsis: 'Ning Yizhuo has spent her whole life trying to be the very best... Ning Yizhuo has also spent her life living in a shadow that she cannot seem to fill. '

Curiosity is a common trait among children, after all what are they but blank slates for the world to write on. It takes on various forms when integrated into education; asking a question with naive brashness that only that age can get away with; to following around wiser figures in their lives, mimicking their behaviours; to poking their fingers in places they don't belong.

Ning Yizhuo is a child. Therefore with statistical probability, she lands in the curious category. Although she, at least, has the sense to not reach into places she can't see, Yizhuo does have the habit of following around Professor Kwon.

Most days she stays in the lab, head marginally passing the bench top, having to stand on her tippy toes just to get a glimpse of red and white with a band of black that she longs to touch. If she were just a tiny bit older, a tiny bit bigger she could pick one up without hassle, but for now, Yizhuo has to accept that she's too young.

Professor Kwon lets her up onto the bench sometimes, allowing her to sit cross-legged and watch her work, just as long as she promises to not ask too many questions and poke her fingers in places they don't belong.

Yizhuo can promise that. Her curiosity is wrapped up in something else entirely anyway, even if her tiny little hands sometimes get a centimetre too close to one of the balls and Professor Kwon has to pick her up off the bench and put her back on the floor, ushering her out of the lab to play somewhere she won't accidentally release a pokémon.

So, when the day comes that the professor lets her waddle along behind her, crossing over the border into the route that leads to the city, Yizhuo can't hold back her curiosity. It was only natural after all, she was a child and Professor Kwon was her older, wiser figure. Besides, her mother would never let her go into one of the routes without supervision.

The tall grass is thick around Yizhuo, she can only see the white of the professor's coat in front of her, and her shoes - velcroed to her feet. The earth under her crunches softly with every step she takes, filling the summer air with a comforting rhythm.

Then the only thing she could see is the white, the professor having suddenly stopped walking and Yizhuo stumbling into her back with a soft 'oof'.

Professor Kwon softly takes her hand, letting her step to the side, and crouches, reaching out to peel back some of the tufts of grass, curtains to the world Yizhuo is about to be introduced to.

Through the grass, Yizhuo spots a flash of yellow before she steps closer to the professor. Then she sees a spiked horn, and the body of a bug. Yizhuo's seen something like it before, in the professor's notebooks, but she doesn't know its name.

"What is it?"

The hand gripping hers loosens before it pushes her forward, enough so that Yizhuo could touch it if she reached hard enough.  "A weedle." Professor Kwon produces a pokéball before underhand throwing it to bounce against the bug's head. There's a flash and the creature is gone, only the ball is left, dropped to the ground.

Yizhuo watches the pokéball with apt curiosity as it wobbles back and forth in the grass. The pinging noise stops with a flash of white along the seams of the ball followed by a satisfied nod from the professor.

“It’s caught now, you see?” Professor Kim bends down and picks up the ball, passing it to her with a flourish. Yizhuo can feel her eyes widen in amazement as she takes it. It’s oversized for her, she can barely wrap her hands around it, little gaps being created between the tips of her fingers, but she can’t deny it feels good. Natural.

“Can I keep it?” Yizhuo asks the professor quickly, holding the ball to her chest. She doesn’t care that there’s an ugly little bug inside, it doesn’t matter when its hers. “Please? I’ll take good care of it!”

All she sees is the professor's smile as she laughs and gives in to her. Then she runs off, going as fast as her stubby legs can take her and making her way back home to show her mother.

Yes, you’re reading it right, my brain connected some weird ass dots. And I’ve even made a backstory for them in my brain which I’ll read now!

(just to clarify since some of my moots were confused: Latiaos canonically are a proper species with multiple specimens, there are mentions of them having flocks in the Pokédex and in the Japanese version of the Heroes movie it’s directly shown theres multiple of them. A lot of you probably know but this is just for those who don’t)

So! Pretty much all of my Pokémon stuff is set in the same universe, which I’m calling the Therianverse because a good amount of the protagonists in the stories are shapeshifting Pokemon who take human form

One of the main things in this AU is that pretty much all Pokémon are unambiguously sapient, and also are allowed to be trainers.

Now that I’ve explained how this universe works, I’ll talk about these fellas

In the Sevii Archipelago, there lived a couple, named Melusine and Luster. Sometimes, they would visit towns for a bit before disappearing for a while, then visiting different towns. They were kind folks, so they were a welcome sight whenever they appeared. One could always recognize them by the mysterious orbs they wore on wrist bracelets, but no one could’ve known that these were in fact, the key to their disguises.

The orbs, properly known as Soul Dew, were objects with amazing magical powers, including the ability to shapeshift. The couple were in fact Latiaos, flying from island to island. Of course, this probably wouldn’t have changed most people’s opinions that much, but the couple did have reason to worry…

At one point, they would disappear for a much longer time than usual. In fact, this time was years. People thought that they would have left, of course. But they hadn’t. They still disguised themselves, though, they needed to keep their children safe, after all.

The twins were to stay home, for they didn’t get the grasp of shapeshifting for a while. Their parents were happy to help, though, and soon enough, they would go out to meet the world. The parents would “return”, this time with their children, and the story that they had moved to raise their children elsewhere.

The children were very much adored by the townsfolk, and led happy lives with their parents. So it was a bit of a shock when their parents would have a second pair of babies.

They weren’t particularly excited about this new development, worried that they wouldn’t be as loved anymore. Of course, their parents would assure them that they were okay, but the children wouldn’t accept this.

At some point, the parents would actually leave to meet with their friends far away. The children and the townsfolk knew it wasn’t for long though, especially since they said that they’d only be gone for a few days.

When a few days passed by, they didn’t return.

When a week passed by, they didn’t return.

When a month passed by, they didn’t return.

Of course, the worst was assumed. Their children were especially hurt, not helped by the fact that they would have to raise their siblings. Fortunately, some of their family friends offered to help them raise the new siblings.

Just under a year later, the new children would hatch, and were given the Soul Dews that their parents had made before their birth.

Seven years would pass. The two older children had found their names (AN: in this au, pokemon culture has pokemon name themselves rather than their parents do so): Lucian and Lorelei. They were around 17 years of age, two years after one could legally become a Trainer. Neither was particularly interested in the prospect, as they still had to help raise their little siblings. And their siblings were starting to become clawfulls with their mischief and curiousity.

So at night, the little siblings had begun a routine of flying around at night when people wouldn’t see them. (Their big siblings knew because y’know, psychics, but couldn’t really stop them from that) But one night, they flew all the way into morning, when there were people to see them… Specifically, Team Rocket.

Suddenly, they were struck by something, and fell from the sky. When they realized what had happened, they tried to escape, but one had been hit by a Sticky Web and couldn’t move themself. So their twin would help them get out, leaving themself vulnerable to capture.

One escaped from the web. The other didn’t return home.

The elder siblings had a feeling something like this would happen, but they at least hoped that it would involve both of the twins returning and them getting a lecture. But a lecture would be too cruel now. They had to do something. They knew their little sibling would be safe with their caretakers and understand to be careful. They would set off in the dead of night to rescue their lost sibling.

This, however, was still a cruelty to the sibling who was abandoned, they had thought their siblings hated them so much that they didn’t want to deal with them anymore. And for several years, they would live in guilt… until they received a mysterious vision.

There’s more to the story, but that’s the basic backstory. Fortunately all the siblings have nicer lives now, Lorelei became part of the Kanto-Johto Elite Four and retired, Lucian stayed on the Sinnoh E4, Will escaped kidnapping (though losing two of his eyes in the process) and would become part of the Kanto-Johto E4 once Lorelei retired, and Anabel would reunite with her twin and also make amends with her elder siblings (though it did kinda generally make them bitter) and also joined the Hoenn Battle Frontier, and also is Looker’s assistant with his detective stuff, though that’s more relevant to the Sun/Moon part of this AU.

For some clarification: the parents are probably dead, haven’t quite figured that out yet. Also I had the idea that Latiaos can change their scale color depending on their gender identity, and since Will and Anabel are nonbinary they’re purple :]

This may sound like an odd question at first, but it relates to a serious error ive made recently and i feel just terrible about it.

A question from a concerned trainer: Can most pokemon distinguish between an act of carelessness/recklessness against them and an act of intentional ill-will? (specifically, fish pokemon such as feebas/milotic)

Now, for context, the great 'error' ive made is that ive been frankly neglecting the general wellbeing of my best friend, my most beloved loyal companion; my Milotic, Athena. Ive only JUST realized it, and now i feel awful about it :<

You see, in an effort to better myself as a trainer and better understand the native pokemon of my region (I'm from Galar), i have recently been taking up the large task of filling up my pokedex. I have caught many different species of pokemon with my best and most strong of companions, Athena; and she has been nothing but the greatest of pokemon to me. But today a certain unusual behavior of hers made me realize that since taking up this pokedex-quest, i haven't been the trainer she deserves back.

Confession of a selfish trainer:

I had been using her as just a tool, a stepping stone, and not regarding her as the most beautiful and deserving friend as i had been before... We'd go out into the wild area for hours on end each day, battle after battle, never taking a break, never stopping to rest, only me and her, and even only ever healing when she physically could not go on further or without risking her serious harm. But by far the worst thing i did was never allowing her to battle these opponents...

Athena is very strong, and thus even on the toughest of wild area pokemon, even one attack would render them... uncatchable. So i made the same mistake over and over infinitely, of ignoring her, only focused on catching, never attacking, constantly letting her get bombarded with enemy attacks.

It was only when she began acting out against my idiocy- an apathy for battling, a profound distantness, with wavering obedience that had previously *never* faltered- that i realized i was doing something terrible, and doing it to my best friend no less... the worst was when i realized i hadnt had her healed at a proper pokemon center in over a week, despite non-stop battling. I had been using bag items, but those are surely no replacement for centers entirely, right?

Even after going on an amazing camping trip, making her favorite curry, and ensuring to give her my fullest attention whenever she even hinted at wanting it, i still feel like such a bad trainer, and an awful and dirty person, that i dont deserve the position i have, the incredible pokemon i have, their incredible stregth and loyalty...

So i ask one question:

Will/can she ever forgive me? (not that i would have done anything to deserve or be entitled to forgiveness after what i did...)

Sorry for the incredibly long length of this question, but i thought it was important to provide all context i had and get this off my chest.

Anonymous, I mean this in the kindest possible way:

Go to therapy.

I am no psychologist nor psychiatrist. I cannot diagnose anything, nor can I help. But you are displaying here a serious obsessive streak in a frankly worrying manner. To nonstop battle, to the detriment of your bonds with your closest friends, is one thing. But to not notice when over a week has passed in such a situation is extremely abnormal.

In addition- Yes, you messed up. You damaged your bond with your Pokemon. But you should not be asking me for how to repair this bond, or if this bond can be repaired. You should be looking to her. Milotic are intelligent, and can discern the difference between intentional and accidental harm in many ways, but extreme prolonged neglect... Judging from the lengths you have described, you can hardly call it 'unintentional' anymore. She is not sapient or sentient in a human way, but she still has emotions of her own. It is up to you to decide what is best.

And, to be blunt, dumping all of this in the inbox of a total stranger does not speak wonders to your mental state, either.

Go to therapy. Both for yourself, and for Athena.

I've just started watching the Pokemon anime from the beginning for some reason and I already have some thoughts. I'm just using this post as a journal.

Firstly, Professor Oak is a cruel man, he knew all the pokemon other than Pikachu were taken and still made Ash go through the process of picking up each.

Also, this show is like 30 years old so you'd think comedy would be different, but for some reason Pikachu playing baseball with is pokeball is the funniest shit ever to me.

Pikachu has already shown it is far too powerful. I get that pokemon are generally more powerful than humans, there's a reason trainers have their pokemon beat the shit out of wild pokemon on their behalf instead of just doing it themselves, but god. Pikachu knocked out twelve people, most of which were probably adults. AND Ash is also godlike, he was the closest to Pikachu. He was the one that the electric current went through to knock out the twelve people in the crowd, but he was fucking FINE. Just some scorch marks, that's it. This is a ten year old child, with that level of current he should be dead. He should be just a charred skeleton.

Has Ash done no research or is only being able to say their name specific to Pikachu? It's an animal, what the fuck did he expect? Does he also expect a response when he asks a dog who the goodest boy is?

Next, Pikachu hates being confined, so removing the waist-leash made sense, but why the gloves? They weren't even touching Pikachu, they were on his hands.

why is there boss music playing when Pidgey appears and Ash thinks he's gonna fight it? He's specifically fighting it because it's easy. Also I'm putting it on the same line cuz it's the same scene basically, what kind of yawn was that? Pikachu's "cha" was clearly supposed to be a yawn, but that did not sound tired at all. That is what yawns would sound like if we did them when we had too much energy.

remember when I said trainers have their pokemon beat the shit out of wild ones on their behalf? Apparently not Ash. I'm convinced that Ash is from our world, but doesn't know much about Pokemon, so he's just heard of it in passing and knows nothing. And when he was in our world he never encountered any non-human life.

"enjoy your last moments of freedom"? Ash isn't even trying to be a caring pokemon master, he is just straight up has no sympathy for them. I'm glad this kid never met an animal in the real world, at least pokemon can fight back a lot better.

What was that laugh at Ash's failure? That was far too human. I hate that. Pikachu is a straight up demon. New theory, ontop of Ash being from our world, there are demons(or some kind of demon equivalent) in the pokemon world. Pikachu is one of them, and pokeballs are like holy water to them. That's why Pikachu doesn't want to be in the pokeball.

I know this is pokemon, and there are tank turtles with no clear sign(to my knowledge) of how they get the water they shoot, and rats with unlimited supplies of electricity, and sentient magnets, but Pidgey is none of those. Pidgey is a normal fucking bird, nothing special about it. Where the fuck did it get that sand from??

the pokedex is fucking amazing. Earlier I thought it was just coincidental that it was a bit late, but no. That thing is alive, and it fucking HATES Ash.

why the hell do wild pokemon get jealous of trained pokemon? Just get in the ball and you'll be a trained pokemon. And trainers openly do not care about the pokemon they catch, Ash already showed that.

the way it cut straight from Ash and Pikachu passing a Magikarp in the river to a gyarados makes it look like that thing just evolved on the spot.

Misty not caring about Ash at all is completely fair. I don't care if she doesn't have any context to know what happenned, there is a hurt animal.

"Pikachu, this can't... happen" he's not wrong, it can't, it's only the first episode of the show and Pikachu's a main character.

"the town of pallet" sounds completely different from "pallet town", and why does Ash think he's a noble defender, he's ten, and he's defending a rat that kocked out twelve people.

Pikachu just created a giant sky beam. That was not a lightning strike, it was like a mile thick. Pikachu is not a demon, it's far too powerful, it is satan himself.

anyway, those were my thoughts on the first episode of the pokemon anime. It was like 11 minutes long, but I took like 30 to write about it. If I get any likes on this I'll keep posting my thoughts as I watch it.

very long headcanon time!!!

my favourite characters in pokemon are always the rivals and champions and in my hc’s im too attached to most champions to kick them out of their position when the playable character inevitably beats them… unrealistic?… yes but i just can’t do it LOL.

i love the idea of gloria taking a bit to think about the champion offer and ultimately rejecting it (much to hops complete shock) because she’s never enjoyed the flashy life a champion lives and would rather work on a farm out near turffield (milo was beyond excited).

red blue or leaf champions? no thanks. lance kept the champion role because while red loves to battle, he also dosent love the theatrics the role requires, blue simply got his ass beat by his two best friends and stays top gym leader in viridian and leaf has a passion in computers, working with bill in the pc system. ive always considered leaf a battle legend (canonically she definitely SHOULD be), so i love the idea of the three visiting alola every summer to get their battling energy out there at the battle tree.

pokemon obviously plays into the idea that there are champions and champion ranked trainers (nemona and N for example). i’ve always seen the champion role as something that’s offered by the current champion + the league system when they’re beaten, but is not expected or forced to be accepted by the qualifying trainer. i feel like there’s a surprising amount of “training” that is required (more-so in the media aspect of it) and most trainers, if they do initially accept the offer, end up changing their mind due to not really having a grasp on how challenging the role REALLY is. the champion role is made for such a specific niche of personalities that just being amazing at battling really isn’t enough🤷🏻‍♂️

My AEW Revolution 2024 Predictions

I am so excited for this ppv and I have to much energy on myself so, deal with it

Tornado Tag Match Sting's Last Match - Darby Allin & Sting (AEW Tag Team Champions) VS Golf Trainers- oh sorry- AEW EVP'S Matthew & Nicholas Jackson

Let's start with the cherry on the top, I am so ready to cry on this match, even knowing that most likely Sting will appear again on AEW but not wrestling again

But for sure, 100% that the not Young Bucks anymore will win this match - I mean if its Sting's last match will Darby defend both belts alone?? I mean he is capable of it. but come on, one last match of this amazing tag team against the non Young Bucks is the perfect finish for this era

AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - Samoa Joe (C) VS Swerve Strickland VS Hangman Adam Page

Everyone is imagining that it will Swerve versus Hangman and Samoa Joe will be like third wheeling or something like that

this one will be pretty intense both men fighting for the gold and Samoa Joe defending it

I really want Swerve to win it but I think Samoa Joe will retain it, I mean it's the first ppv that he defends it

AEW WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - "Timeless" Toni Storm (C) VS Deonna Purrazo

Besides the Zero Hour one with Kris and Willow versus Julia Hart and Skye Blue, this is the only women´s match on the ppv..........come on AEW, your women's division is so freaking powerful and you still don´t know how to properly promoted, and we are on the International Women's month, come on......

I think Deonna Purrazo will win it for sure, but if Toni retains it I am so excited to see how this feud will keep going, because this feud was so well played, I am more than seated for this match

AEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - Orange Cassidy (C) VS Roderick Strong

It has to be Orange Cassidy, if it isn´t I will shave my eyebrows
