OMG, I literally found your Astarion/Raphael fic yesterday, desperately looking for something like it. So happy someone else had the same brain worms as me XD

I was wondering if I could pick your brain a bit about what kind of direction you think you will take the fic? I was wondering if you had any plans in your head or if you are just following the vibes so to speak.

Especially with Raphael being in the pairing, I wondered if this is more of a "It turns out they are actually good for each other" kind of thing or more of a "Astarion has to find out what his life is going to be now/get over some things and Raphael will enjoy every second of making him squirm" kind of thing.

So I guess answering this would kind of be talking about really end-game spoilers, but I also don't have a plan for this story beyond Astarion/Raphael, and 'hopeful ending.'

(I mean I do have more than that, I just don't know how much of that I want to reveal at this stage, when it's only chapter 5, and this story could easily be over 40 chapters long - there's a lot of potential for change and growth that could alter the trajectory of the relationship in a lot of different directions.'

What I will say is that:

I do not consider Astarion giving into a regular non-consensual situation and just accepting it and making painful peace with it, a hopeful ending type situation. Agency is important to me in my characters. Even if he one day decides to voluntarily submit to scenes he doesn't love - that would at least be a choice. Anything done while under contract with difficult consequences will not be where the hopeful ending happens.

It's an Astarion/Raphael story, therefore the hopeful ending will be an Astarion/Raphael ending. That's just how my brain works. It will not be a 'they break up and THAT'S why it's hopeful.' However, the end may not have a conventional looking relationship. And I've written unconventional endings in relationships before (like Stuck on the Puzzle)

For me, a hopeful ending (as opposed to a happy ending) means that we have to have confidence in the idea that Astarion's life will continue to improve and get better even after the story has ended. There's now enough evidence that he has enough enrichment and potentially for happiness in his life, that he won't downward spiral like he has in the same way again. This means he needs - more support, more healing, healthier avenues for communication even if the relationship isn't healthy overall all the time/every second, and some pretty big personal realisations about what he wants in life. Hopeful ending is both 'better than where we found him, but also genuinely, when most people think on the last chapter, they think 'he's got some ways to go in healing, but I really think he's/they're going to be okay'' not just physically, but also emotionally, spiritually, mentally.

Those are the things I'm happy to reveal because that's how I feel about almost all of my hopeful endings. That's what that means to me.

I do think Raphael and Astarion can actually be good for each other, but I think we're missing huge pieces of the puzzle as to why that's true. Because we're missing so much of Raphael's post-death story, because he's deliberately hiding it.

But we'll find out more soon. At some point, High Inquisitor Verillius Receptor will visit, and then we'll find out a lot more, lol.

(Also yeah this story will be long, easily I suspect around 150k in length as a baseline - we're on an emotional journey folks! Sometimes the growth will be healthy, sometimes it'll be negative, we're going in all the directions lmao).

I got 2 question’s 1, from 1-10 how angsty would you say your IF/IFs will be? Where 1 is no angst, and 10 is everyone I know and love are dead and I could do nothing about it, it was inevitable worst of all I was the cause. (That might actually be a 6 on the angst scale…). 2, I wish with my body and soul that Soarine is TALL. Why? Because…yknow…Soarine that’s why.(that and because she got that vibe where when she bond’s with someone she’s incredibly protective, and I kinda feel that if she’s tall that vibe just increases). hope it's ok i'm putting these two together bc i love that they came in right next to each other and we can talk gamers!!!! i BIG agree that v1 actually plays a lot of nonviolent games weirdly enough - it has an absolutely wild and hard to look at animal crossing island (all the robo villagers live there......the dream......) and has logged a disgusting amount of hours into like. fishing sims. it also definitely plays goofy shit like crash bandicoot and gex (like just weird 90s and 00s games), plus whatever genre of game things like catlateral damage are. so it has a WIDE pool it picks from, although it does play some fighting games to develop new and ridiculous strategies. v2 absolutely loves playing challenging games like dark souls to full optimization and it has an official gamer card. i absolutely agree that it's competitive about it, unfortunately v1 would be the best rival for it but it's just. complete garbage at any competitive game and it doesn't care to get better. basically all i can say about v2 is that it plays all the games that i can't bc i'm,,,i'm terrible at games!! gabriel is the hardest one to place imo, but i've always liked the idea of him playing strategy-based fighting games like fire emblem, because as an angel he's very wrapped up in his role of warrior and general. MINECRAFT THO....it's so funny to me bc i imagine he has very little creativity (again, angels are sort of rigid and don't have that divine spark the way humans do), but imagine him trying to build and make his own things ;A; it's actually really cute!! he can make a house,,,,it's not very good, like it's just a box, but he made it!! he created a minecraft!!!

Not sure what the heck I was dreaming about last night when it came to Trollhunters and vampires in the same universe, but here's an AU based on it.

• Jim is lured into a darkened alley one night. Normally he wouldn't do something like that, but on that night, he didn't have control of his body. As a result, he was turned into a halfling vampire.

• The last thing Jim heard on his last night as a human before he passed out was this: "Now Merlin's future champion will be ours to control!"

• Arthur is in fact Jim's modern-day cold and distant uncle in this AU. Jim lives with Arthur instead of Barabra.

• Barabra's still alive and does make daily visits to her son. She just doesn't have custody of Jim.

• Due to his halfling nature, Jim needs human blood to survive. It is only when he bites another person he'll turn into a full vampire.

• However, Jim refuses to drink the blood and let someone else suffer the same fate as him.

• Toby finds out Jim is a halfling vampire when Jim accidentally shows his fangs during an argument with Toby about something.

• Toby learns Jim can only be let in someone's house through consent. He will be forced to stay outside if they don't let him in. It does not count if it's a family member or the one who turned them let vampires in.

• For clarification, trolls still do exist in this. They are regular trolls as canon and knows of Jim's nature. They are the source of the substitute blood Jim gets to sustain himself.

• Morgana was the one who created the vampires. Strickler is her loyal servant but was not the one who turned Jim.

• Jim later finds out it was his own Uncle who turned him into a halfling when he confronts Morgana herself.

I remember Arthur holding Jim in vampire-proof restraints, Jim refusing something, and Claire being barely conscious, but I don't remember what happened afterwards as that's when I woke up.

Whether or not Barabra finds out her son is a vampire halfling, and Claire still falls for Jim despite him being a vampire is up to you.

A Trollhunters AU with vampires and trolls? Brilliant idea!

It's really interesting how because Jim hasn't bitten anyone with his fangs that he's still more human than vampire. Extra interesting that Jim is related to Arthur here, which means he's also related to Morgana lol. Hmm I wonder how Jim hides his fangs... Maybe by not ever opening his mouth wide lol.

Okay, so I guess Strickler is either a halfling himself or of course an actual vampire.

I think Claire is probably been taken to force Jim to turn her into a halfling vampire and become full vampire himself. I'd like to think regardless Claire falls for him, and both she and Barbara find out what Jim is.

It’s mind-boggling to me that people think that Haaland deserves the Ballon d’Or over Messi. By no means am I trying to undermine Haaland’s achievements, the treble is no small feat and the number of goals he scored last season is insane, but winning the World Cup is the pinnacle of a players career, especially in the fashion that Messi did as the best and most dominant player of the tournament. Not to mention that beyond goals, Messi has better stats than Haaland in all other categories. More chances created, more assists, higher G/A contribution, I could go on. I’d also like to add that Messi scored like 30+ goals as well last season, which is also pretty insane considering his age. The last thing I’ll add that really pisses me off that people are now trying to undermine the World Cup as just some 4-week tournament, like the World Cup has always been regarded as the most prestigious team trophy their is. Countless players have stated how much they would love to win the World Cup for their country, and to just brush it under the rug to try and make the treble, which again is no small feat, seem better by comparison is insane.

I don't even think it's about world cup v. ucl or any other competition in a way that can be generalized for any season (it would be hypocritical of me if I acted like I thought the world cup was the end all be all now when I haven't in the past) but yes, it's just very stupid to act like leo doesn't deserve it this season

wait wdym gwitch before ep 12 D: im still on 11 did they fuck it up? (dont worry abt spoilers)

oh not at all! I thought episode 12 was masterfully done by the writers, and a fitting end for the first half of the show, it just left me shocked and emotionally affected, but I’m glad the writing is good enough to elicit such a response. it definitely left me wanting more

to not spoil too much, I would just say that episode 12 is incredibly similar in tone to the prologue episode, and doesn’t pull any punches for various characters

the actions of two particular characters will very much have consequences for the latter half, especially the person involved in the post credits scene (yes there is one for this ep so make sure you watch it). It is a very shocking scene to end the first half on, but it’s setup for the next.

we are back to square one with one relationship in particular (or perhaps even worse off) but I don’t think this is out of nowhere on the writers’ part, rather it’s one of the lowest points in a characters as-yet-unfinished arc. they’re reaching rock bottom, but now they’ll have to wake up and untangle themselves from the manipulative forces around them. I am v interested to see how they will navigate repairing their relationships and earning back trust, and then breaking free of their bonds to start on their path to self actualization

He does have childish aspects about him!

I think a lot of people are worried that Ghostbur will be infantilized if anyone refers to him as childish, and I get that! Unfortunately, a lot of people do infantilize him, and it’s really sad to see :(

But when people try to ignore all the parts of Ghostbur that really are more childish, they end up not getting the full picture. Yes, he runs away from bad/scary things and has a best friend who’s a sheep and speaks in a very simple manner… and that’s fine?? That’s just Ghostbur! That’s how he is, and I think it’s cool!

Ghostbur can have childish aspects about him while still being an interesting, deep, beautiful character—and I’d argue that his childish aspects make him more interesting, actually! I find him really relatable because of that :)

If they had a tumblr what would it look like?

Very sweet and innocent! His blog colors would be light blue and purple, and he’d reblog photos of flowers and nature and creatures and people, and he’d make posts about little things like what he had for breakfast and what he saw on his walk with Friend, and he’d use lots of emoticons like :3 :D :))) ^-^

He’d post lots of pictures, too; of Friend, of Tommy, of leaves, of bugs, of him and Tommy and him and Friend and Sweet Blue sitting on a nest and Phil drinking tea and Techno definitely not wanting a picture alsvskvdksfs

I think he’d also post videos of him playing guitar and singing :) And it would be so calm and quiet and peaceful and he’d film it outside at twilight and there’d be bug-sounds in the background and wind blowing through leaves.

…now I’m sad that I can’t watch those videos :(

But yeah, his blog would be so darn sweet! He’d never post/reblog anything sad; his blog would be a safe place.

Though every once in a while, he’d make a short post asking why everything hurts, why everything is hard, why his head hurts when he thinks of hard things, why everyone looks at him strangely, why bad thoughts come when he can’t stop them.

And then the next day, the post would be deleted and he’d reblog a photo of a flock of sheep and everything would be normal again.

Ghostbur wouldn’t really care about having lunch with anyone else; Tommy and Friend are his very best friends in the whole world, so why would he choose others over them?

No no, they would all go to a nice little diner and Tommy and Ghostbur would sit in the booths (Ghostbur insisted that they sit on the same booth, much to Tommy’s annoyance) and Friend would sit next to the table and they would all get yummy food and Friend would get a nice big salad with fruits and veggies and green leaves and Tommy would get pasta and Ghostbur would get a hot dog and Tommy would get marinara sauce on his face and Ghostbur would take his own sweet time eating and he’d keep pausing so he could pet Friend and it drives Tommy crazy and then Ghostbur and Tommy talk for a long time until they get hungry again and they order cream soda ‘n ice cream floats and Ghostbur uses a straw and Tommy uses a spoon and Friend gets a bunch of fresh fruit and they’re all very happy and it’s a lovely time <3

For those who don’t know, me and Pinestripe came up with a chicken OC that Ghostbur adopts, because why the heck not? :)

I think that Friend is chill about her. Friend doesn’t really have a super loud personality, so he doesn’t… show that much affection lol. He’s just Chill.

He’ll gently nudge Sweet Blue away from a dangerous bug or a creek, and let her rest on his back while he walks, and even let her make a next in his wool, but he’s not like, all over her or anything 😅

He loves her, that’s for sure. He loves her a whole bunch, and is quite protective—partially because she’s young and partially because she’s small.

Their idea of a perfect day

Cool weather, fluffy clouds, blue sky, gentle breeze, fields of green grass, bugs singing, leaves rustling, and, of course, Ghostbur at his side <3

(And a carrot would definitely Improve the day lol)

On a more simple note, a day where Ghostbur is happy; the ghost has far too many hard days, where he’s upset or crying or stays inside or buries his face into Friend’s wool and sobs. Friend doesn’t like those days. He doesn’t like it when Ghostbur is upset.

So when Ghostbur is happy and smiling and pointing at bugs and laughing and gazing up at the sky and petting Friend and walking through the woods and hugging his sheep, Friend is also happy. Very, very happy.

I think... on the outside, a Maobi baby acts more like Dabi in mannerism, but deep down, leans more towards you in habits. Definitely appears relatively cool and aloof in expression, but is rather quite perceptive and overall very humorous (in that slightly silly but dry and know-it-all Dabi manner).

Given your workaholic nature (ily sorry) and Dabi's ability for long-term planning, I see them as being... oddly organized for a child; the type to hold you to your promises, keep little lists of things in their pockets or even pack up their toy set-ups all nice and neat when not in use. They probably... don't fold their laundry immediately though, and get a lil sassy when you ask LOL.

I also see them as the type of child who picks up on things wayyy better than they should, and constantly makes it known in ways that just end up being super... funny. You know, they hear another kid whining about something, and immediately stare at you w/ an expression that says, "get a load of this guy, huh🙄?" And they'll do this w/ any and every situation, too.

(And esp. when they're forced to eat food that wasn't made by you. They're always polite, of course... but given that you spoil them w/ nice meals and they likely inherited Dabi's very... particular... food standards... they get sad and grumpy when they have to eat something that is just. Not good.)

It's hard to notice, but Maobiby is definitely... a little spoiled. Not in any way that matters because they're also extremely humble (being that they're related to BOTH of you)... but like, they will literally act like they'll die if they aren't allowed to cuddle with you when they want to, going as far as to get all whiney and everything. Literally... 50% of time spent laying in bed or sitting on the couch (w/ Dabi esp.) is interrupted by them getting in with you (or on top of) <333

I was sorta envisioning them as a boy throughout this, but girl dad Dabi is truly... my religion. I feel like it would be delightful if they had his hair and your eyes (so it would truly feel like you were all disconnected from the Todoroki name and would remind him of your silver hair)... but also, your natural, darker hair and his eyes would just make him laugh cuz then they'd just look like him when he had his dyed hair.

Definitely a pretty baby either way. People compliment you on it probably LOOOL.
