Tagged by the wonderful @just-like-playing-tag! Thank you for this!
Rules: Answer 17 questions and tag 17 people!
Nicknames: I don't really have one based around this username (at least i haven't thought or heard of one?) so Aly is fine. There's more but those names are only used by family.
Age: I feel hella old just thinking about it but 27. I don't look nor act like it though, clearly.
Zodiac: I believe I'm a Gemini?
Height: Umm, 5'4"? Maybe?
Last thing I googled:  "beta arceus" because wow, have you seen this derpy thing? & it was supposed to be the god of all Pokémon? Incredible.
Song stuck in my head: I know I'm cheating by putting two songs here but my mind just can't seem to pick one to listen to all day, so we have "Forever Stuck in Our Youth" by Set It Off & "Theater of Life" by Konomi Suzuki (the OP for Deca-Dence)
Number of followers: 479 at the moment. I never cared about the number, honestly, it just humors me knowing that this side blog passed my main in a shorter amount of time.
Amount of sleep: 6 hours during the week, but can easily sleep until the afternoon on weekends.
Lucky number: Let's say 10.
Dream job: I wanted to be an animator, or just do something related to art or design. That's what I went to college for anyways. I did a few internships in the past but they never went anywhere and eventually I had to go a different route just to make money. It's fine now, I guess? Stressful, sure, since I always feel like I'm learning something new and get overwhelmed, but yeah, I miss being creative like I used to be. I know it's my own fault for getting discouraged so easily and watching my skills kinda vanish over the years, but I'm slowly trying to get myself motivated again, either with graphics or writing.
Wearing: Sweatpants, t-shirt, short sleeve hoodie. I like being comfy.
Favorite song: This always changes, but as of recently, I'll say "Popular Monster" by Falling In Reverse.
Favorite instruments: I'd love to learn how to play piano. They're just so soothing and I could listen to piano covers for hours. (yes i realize the stark contrast between this and the song i just mentioned)
Favorite author: I don't think I have one? I enjoy reading, but not like.. actual books.
Favorite animal sound: Owls. Sometimes their little hoots sound like laughing and I don't know why I enjoy them so much.
Aesthetic: Black and white (or grayscale, whichever term is correct). Not in terms of reality, just art-wise. Maybe I just think color can be distracting sometimes? like other aspects are important but since we see in color all the time, it's often one of the first things we notice or use when we describe something or someone. When you take color away though, I feel like you can focus on a lot more and appreciate the little details on how a piece of media is beautiful or why it catches your attention. The dynamic shape of an object, the texture it has or how light bounces off of it. How a scene is framed, if there's any negative space, how and where your eyes move around the image or video due to any perspective or action. The expression on someone and wondering how they might be feeling during that moment in time and why, perhaps leading you to then think of your own emotions as well. (ah, i spoke about this more than i thought i would) but yeah, it can be simple but deep if one chooses to look into it and I kinda like that.
Random: Fellow TPN fans, I'm just gonna let y'all know right now.. the moment the anime decides to show Emma in her Goldy Pond outfit, whether it be from a trailer, a preview image, whenever ch75 finally gets animated, or literally anything.. I promise you, I will lose my damn mind!!
Tagging: 17 people huh, umm, @bubblesandpages, @cosmic-dusk-and-dawn, @coding-ninja-fandoms, @akaashikeji, @itseveryraybro, @honneme, @kakashi-chidori, @starflower-98, @violetxx194, @mijukuhero, @getsug4tensho, @pbvbbles, @belladonna271, @modern-oedipus, @thathilomgirl
Okay, well, good enough. Apologies if you were already tagged to do this, I forgot to check (and i stressed out enough trying to think of enough people). Also, please don't feel pressured or anything, only if you want to.

Wow, I actually got tagged in something! This usually never happens.
Thanks, @temporoom for tagging me, even though I think it’s been a while since I added to one of your posts...
1. Did you start with the manga or anime?
Anime actually. I heard a bunch of recommendations to try out TPN for the Winter 2019 season of anime. I heard it was a show with intelligent characters and psychological and mystery elements, so I jumped into the series blind. And. Loved. The. First. Episode. It immediately drew me into the world and daunting task the children would face trying to escape. Enough so that by the end of episode 2, I caved and binge-read the manga. Oops.
2. Which one do you like more?
Manga. As much as the anime had some really good Japanese voice acting, and the beauty that was Isabella’s Lullaby; I don’t think I can forgive how much of the internal dialogue was cut in the anime. The bigger draw of TPN for me is its psychological and mystery aspects--not its horror aspects. So I do think the anime suffers from not letting us getting inside our characters’ heads or making them say important statements aloud (which can make them seem a bit...dumb).
3. Favourite arc?
It’s a classic, but I think I have to go with the Jailbreak Arc. Like Tempo brought up, the Jailbreak Arc is the most tightly written to me; and it stars two excellent antagonists in Isabella and Krone.
But I think my favourite thing about the arc is I believe it to be the one where the most psychological elements are. Unlike most other arcs with antagonist where it tends to involve physical combat, this arc is completely a mental battlefield, as everyone tries to outwit everyone else. And yes, I mean everyone. There are five major players in this arc: Emma, Norman, Ray, Isabella, and Krone; but all five of them have their own ideals and goals that have them try to outwit another person. Even among the Full Score Trio.
Plus, it’s the arc where Ray gets to shine the most. Speaking of which...
4. Favourite character?
Ray. I know he hasn’t had a lot to do in recent chapters, but I still really enjoy his character. I tend to like more loner, bookish characters (since I can relate to them), and I can emphasize so much with the character arc Ray goes through. Plus, we still have potential new character development Ray could have with Isabella back in the picture, and him being able to finally confront his complicated feelings towards his mother. And also reveal that Isabella is his actual mother. Ray: Oops. Never got around to this...
Also, shout out to Ayshe who has a really cool character design and interesting potential interactions with Norman if there’s time.
5. Favourite volume cover?
Probably 11. It’s one of the more unique cover designs to me, I like the glass shards aesthetic in pictures in general, the sky looks really nice, and it gives off a feeling of determination. Especially with the volume title “The End”. Strong, definite, and the feeling of “We’re going to win”
6. Any good memory about TPN you want to share?
Well...how about...the fact that TPN is what convinced me to join tumblr? I had been lurking around the website for a while, but I never bothered to make an account since I had nothing to say. That all changed when @/couldnt-think-of-a-better-name (pretty sure the blog is abandoned now, RIP) posted a theory detailing the Christianity parallels in TPN. I had so many ideas and points to add on, I couldn’t contain myself and created this account so i could reblog the post with my own ideas, and I’ve been on this troublesome site ever since.
So, I will always fondly remember TPN as my first real tumblr fandom, and the one that convinced me to come here in the first place.
Since most of the people I would want to tag have already been picked, I’ll just stick with tagging @thesilverhunt3r who was still into TPN last I checked, and invite anyone who sees this to join in!

Thanks @vobomon for the tag!
(TPN tag game credit: @bluelric )
Tumblr media
1. Did you start with the manga or the anime?
The manga! An artist I followed posted a digital painting of Emma with the caption “Emma from The Promised Neverland” and the artist seemed excited in the tags. The hair and the manga title stood out to me. Once I saw it was a Shonen Jump title, I decided to go into the first chapter blindly.
I got into the series when it was still in the middle of Goldy Pond!
2. Which one do you like more?
Both are really great but I prefer the manga. I love the moments where you can see Posuka’s little art details and the additional dialogue that could possibly be lost in the adaptation.
But I absolutely love the character animation (I’m a big sucker for sakuga) and the OPs, EDs and OST.
3. Favourite arc?
Goldy Pond. No doubt. I’m absolute trash for big shonen battles and protagonists being cool. We’ve been escaping from demons and now we get to face them off?! Heck yeah. I live for that.
4. Favourite character? (if you have one)
Emma. She’s just great! I see her and I’m like wow... That power, that motivation, that energy!!! I love that she’s very kind and very smart but also very fierce and strong! Every time she appears with other Jump characters it makes me so proud and motivated!
5. Favourite volume cover?
Volume 12!!! I know Emma pretty much appears in most volumes but this one really just hypes me up!! It feels so powerful and majestic! It feels very movie poster like and definitely something I would put on my wall!
6. Any good memory related to TPN that you want to share?
It has to be when I was really into building this Demon!Emma AU! It originally started out as drawing for TPN week, but soon I started getting asks for more info! Fleshing out and adding more details/art to this AU made me feel more connected with the series and made me enjoyed it even more! While I don’t work on it now, it still makes me smile and reminds me why I love TPN in the first place.
