Person A: "How can you not know that you're dating a fucking deity?!"
Person B: "...I mean, to be fair, before the accident they never really acted like a deity around me. Our life together had been mostly domestic and sappy up until that point."
Person A: "And now?"
Person B: "...Honestly, it's still pretty domestic and sappy, they just don't bother hiding their inhuman nature around me anymore."

Part 1 - Part 2
Tumblr media
You were once a simple being, a fae of lavish parties and luxury. Being the child of the Owl King, you were envied by many and revered by all.
It was at one of the parties that you fell in love with him. Jareth.
You knew your father had chosen an heir to the Labrinth. You had only done as much as seen him around the castle in the past few years, but you had never spoken or interacted.
While you weren’t expected to love him, you were expected to rule at his side, and who were you to complain? He was attractive and charming, and you were foolish. To think that no others wished to steal his heart, perhaps you were lying to yourself. You cant quite remember.
He wore a dark blue tailcoat and ruffled poet shirt, with trousers that let the mind wander just a little too much, and a mask of a horned oni held to his face. You, on the other hand, had been stuffed in a white and gold suit of frilly trousers, an even frillier blouse and a corset that restricted your breathing. Over it was a baby blue tailcoat with gold cuffs and a tail that was so long it was practically the train of a dress.
He had approached timidly at first, rather uncharacteristically. You outstretched your hand to him, and he took it with a firm grip. The rest of the night was a blur.
You spoke and laughed and oh, how you two danced. You were the centre of everyone’s attention, and you caught your father casting a glance and a knowing smile at you.
Little did you know of the envy that brewed in others.
It was many years later, at his coronation, when you had been taken from him. A mere misjudgment and an idiotic oversight on your end were the cause. The misjudgment was your lack of foresightedness, and the idiotic oversight was the woman herself.
How would one create a prison for a being more powerful themself? It would simply be a case of creating a place where all their power is rendered useless. And then getting them there.
Mizumi had forced you into a bubble of water and trapped you on the other side of a pond in her garden. A mirrored world.
Your head had spun with the realisation of what had happened. The pond’s surface rippled a window into the garden, and Mizumi stood where your own reflection would be, looking down at you and smiling as she turned to walk away. The water's surface felt like glass but was as strong as a stone wall.
You were alone, trapped in the confines of the mirrored garden, cursed to wander through a reflected world of Mizumi’s creation. How long had it been? You’d tried to count, but time had lost its meaning a long while ago.
The plants that once mirrored those of the real garden, were now their own ecosystem - their own entity. Everything was drenched in the magick that was leaking from the fragile water surface that kept you trapped here. Her magick was growing wild unattended.
Nothing was real, and yet it was so much more real than anything Mizumi had the capacity to create. She had long forgotten about you, forgotten that she had trapped you here with unstable magick, left you here to soak it up.
Your power grew, your abilities expanded, and every aspect of this fake world was yours to command. All but the exit to your prison. For that, you would have to wait.
Memories that weren’t significant had long faded or twisted over time, and your body - despite its lack of ageing - had become stronger. Even as one of the most powerful fae you were weak when Mizumi had caught you, lost in luxury and love, but after absorbing so much magick that leaked through into your prison cell you were strong and steeped in rage and power.
This was something new. You were something new.
So now, 300 years later, you call the grass at your feet and the air around your body, and touch the water’s surface with the tip of your finger and it shatters, the garden around you fracturing and fading. You pass through the fabricated world and into the one you have so sorely missed, the water from the pond falling from you like diamonds as you step through, leaving you completely dry.
There was somewhere you had to go, somewhere you needed to be. You had escaped, but there was so much more left to do.

Prompt #8
Part 2
Sidekick is at school. They get a text from Hero, Hero never calls them, because they know Sidekick is at school.
(This is the conversation they have through their phone)
“Hey Sidekick! Need your help, do you want me to pick you up?”
“Hey! I’ve math exam next period.”
“Oh, I thought you had finished your exams.”
“That’s what I thought too, but yk how it is… is it like really urgent, I don’t mind loosing an exam.”
“The sooner we get there, the better.”
“Ok, come and get me. When will you get here?”
“In 20 or so.”
“Ok.”
(Here it ends)
“Shit.” Sidekick sighs and goes to math class, they need to finish their exam in less than 20 minutes, how the hell are they gonna achieve it?
“Morning, take a sit and let’s start with the exam, phones to the front, the rules are the same as always, no cheating, etc etc.”
Ok, I can do it, it’s not that hard, is it?
Maths wasn’t exactly Sidekick’s forte, but somehow managed to finish the exam on time.
Hero sent them another text.
“I’m here, come quickly.”
“On my way.”
Sidekick rushed to the car, they had to go unseen or they’d be in big trouble.
“Hey! Get in.”
“Hi” Sidekick said panting.
“How was the exam, I mean, did you take it or…?”
“Yeah, I could, somehow… I might fail,” they sighed. “But yeah, at least it’s done.”
Hero started their car.
“Sidekick… I know I’m no one to tell you this, but you should care more about your future, colleges, you need to get better grades, I know it’s hard with all of this, but, just try, please.”
“No, yeah, I know, I’m trying to, but… I don’t know if Imma go to college.”
“I know, it’s ok, but you should try to.”
“Yeah, I will, but I don’t promise anything.”
Hero turned to see Sidekick, they saw their black eye.
“Have you told your mom about it?”
“What?”
Hero made a gesture with his hand, pointing their eye.
“Oh, yeah, no I haven’t, she’d freak out and if she freaks out I freak out and maybe I wouldn’t be able to even go to school.”
“‘Kay”
The rest of the ride was silent, it wasn’t a long journey, but the silence was awkward.

597.
Random sat down and then stood up again. He did that a few more times, then he stood up and walked out of the room. We went into the waiting room and looked around for people. He didn’t see any, so he sat down by himself in the corner. He waited for a few moments then started to read through the magazine that was resting on the table. Random made a paper sculpture out of a page and then he made another one and another one, then he had built a whole city out of paper. Then the wind blew, and the city collapsed.

Vegeta: Why are you here again?
Goku: To make sure you don't blow up the city.
Vegeta: Oh come on, that was one time!
Goku: ...
Vegeta: Fine, two times.
Goku: ...?
Vegeta: Okay, maybe it happens a little more often than any of us would like. And I usually just so happen to be ever so slightly involved. But it's not like I meant to do it!

A knife flew at me and grazed my cheek, but no real damage done.
“Come and kill me like a man, coward!” I called out.

Person A: "I don't get it..."
Person B: "Don't get what?"
Person A: "Why everyone's so enamoured with (Person C), every time I'm forced to be around them, their 'charm' just feels so... artificial. Just standing near them sets off my fight or flight instincts something terrible."
Person B: "Really? You're not usually the type to judge or scare so easily."
Person A: "...Exactly."

Person A: "That dog followed me all the way to the edge of the forest again today, I wish I could get it to follow me inside so that I could at least treat its wounds... seems like the poor thing's always injured in some way."
Person B: "Have you tried feeding it?"
Person A: "Sooo many times, it never accepts anything I give to it though unfortunately... It does let me pet it occasionally when I'm upset, but it's always covered in so much filth that the stench takes forever to wash off afterwards."
Person B: "...What kind of dog did you say it was?"
Person A: "Uh... I'm not sure actually, whatever it is, it's a pretty big breed. Oh! Hold on, I'll flip the camera and show you! It should still be lingering at the edge of the forest at this time."
Person B: "...I don't see anything."
Person A: "What are you talking about? It's right there, by that big old oak tree! See?"
Person B: "....(Person A)... There's nothing there."
