Characters shouldn’t always be able to pinpoint their emotions. They should be fuzzy and unclear and irrational sometimes.

You can be grumpy and start crying for...literally no reason other than hormones?? And in those situations, you don’t have a clue as to why you feel like garbage and instead just wanna sit in self-pity, or at least I do lol.

So why have your characters always be able to tell the audience exactly what they’re feeling?

poem i wrote after a first date:

cuffs

maybe i don't want to be brave.

maybe i want to be very small.

maybe i miss road trips in pigtails 

where i’d fall asleep against the hums

of the forest green ford, my father's foot

on the gas, which meant home.  which 

means shelter.  shoulder— as in,

to bear for someone.  the night we met

grew late, grew cold.  i let you borrow

my jean jacket i carried to occupy hands

unsure of their capacity to be held.

at the end, you shrugged it off

in my subaru, parked a crosswalk away 

from your apartment.  i think i would

like to shrug many things off like that.

to be draped by something warmed

by another's touch & not flinch

after its loss.  i hear my future

in your voice (read: your voice in

my future) which means tomorrow.

which meant driving myself home

that night.  i put on the gps

even though i didn’t need it & i put on

the jean jacket, pretending it was yours

& you let me borrow it & that’s why

the sleeve cuffs were rolled up

so many times.

A Pumpkin game Because Reasons

Wrote this one day and then forgot about it because it was Halloween during 2020 and I either forget everything that happened that year or keep thinking we're still in it. Anyway. Have fun. And try not to kick the pumpkins. They don't like that.

NEW YEAR’S POSITIVITY TAG

The gist of this tag game that I just made is to spread some positivity/love to fellow writeblrs! Whatever you have to say can be general or geared towards a specific writeblr(s) (I really wanted to say something specific for every writeblr tagged down below, but oh boy would that have taken a while). If you’re tagged, pay the positivity forward (no pressure if you don’t have the time or energy, though. This is all in good fun!)

It has been a very challenging week (and year), as I’m sure it has been for so many people, but I’ve been thinking long and hard about what it is I’d like to do for all my mutuals and I guess the writeblr community in general, and this is really the best I could come up with.

Yeah. I just wanted to say, whether you’ve been with me for five months or five days, I see you, and I appreciate you so so much. I’m not very good at explaining how it is I feel exactly as I feel it, but, like, every time I get a notification or I see you beautiful beanbags on my dash it’s just an instant mood booster. I may not always respond to tag games, or asks, or posts where you guys share your writing immediately but I see them and as I’m sure my tags hint at, I love them. I feel really honored to be a apart of a community so full of talented and creative people. You guys are seriously made my 2022 so much better. Cheers for a (hopefully) amazing 2023!

Hello! I haven’t had a proper intro on here in about a year and I’ve changed names, so I’m redoing this.

Call me Ink(s)! Or I. N. Knight as my published name will be once I get there.

I’m using this to find more writeblrs as well as promote my work written so far The Tales of Dai-Ne and Curiosity Killed the Elf! 

First off I’m looking for: 

-Writeblrs who do fantasy, romance, and mystery but anything with supernatural elements is my jam.

-I’m also a sucker for witty characters and great dialogue!

-I would like to see more disabled characters, POC characters, and just generally fun characters to read about because that’s what I like to write about.

My works:

Curiosity Killed the Elf: Princess Allonwë and her body guard Natanael are forced to go on an adventure when Allonwë barters off to a group of strangers, a shiny bracelet that they later find out to be a weapon of mass destruction. Forced to work together in secret, the two must get the bracelet back before anyone realizes it was them that lost it in the first place, or worse, before her parents find out and ground her for a millennia. 

The Tale of Dai-Ne: The adventures of 4 teens who are swept into a world of magic and chaos and must prevent the veil between the magic and non-magic world from collapsing, all the while surviving their training to become the most powerful magic users in the world. Can they unlock the secrets of the past before the forgotten race of Fae tear down the veil and take everyone out with them?

Bonus story:

Love Triangle Gone Wrong: Ethan is a werecat in a small southern town full of paranormal beings that hide from the rest of the world. Lucien was cursed to be a wolf when the moon present and is only free on nights when there is a no moon showing. The two of them imprint on a newcomer in town named Hope. The kicker? Hope is married with a kid on the way and the boys catch feelings for the wrong person. Follow Ethan, Lucien, Hope, and their friends as this love triangle unfolds in all the wrong (right?) directions and they try to keep Hope from finding out the dark truth about their small town world.
