USEFUL WEBSITES FOR WRITERS

Writing With Color: Helps with writing about culture, ethnicity, and religion. Overall, it gives advice on how to write about diversity.

Name Generator: As the name says, it helps you build names for your characters. Very useful if you cannot think of names for your characters!

KathySteinemann: The 'archive.pdf' section helps you with synonyms in case you struggle to find the right word for your sentences (also to avoid using redundant words).

Spwickstrom: Similar to the previous one, this one provides grammar tips. Extremely helpful when finding phrases, verbs, conjunctions, adjectives, and so on.

Servicescape: The perfect website if you're experiencing writer's block. It provides writing prompts. It helps you spark creativity when it comes to writing.

You can't keep waiting for him to change his tune even after you have given him multiple clues on multiple occasions and have even made sure he knew about your feelings. It's time to move on and find your own happiness, right? So, you go out there, ready to mingle, and guess what? His sister, out of nowhere, becomes your bestie and love-life coach.Yup, you heard that right. She sets you up on dates, gives you pep talks, and basically becomes your partner in crime as you navigate the dating world. And weirdly, it's working. You're starting to feel good about yourself, getting over that unreciprocated love, and living life on your own terms. Meanwhile, your brooding neighbor, THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE is still dealing with his own mess. He's quietly watching you from the shadows, kicking himself for not giving you a chance and for not spilling his guts. There's a lot of pining because SECRETS . He sees you moving on, and it's like a wakeup call. He knows he needs to deal with his past and come clean, but he's not sure if you'll even be around by the time he sorts himself out.

Time keeps ticking, and you're out there, living your best life. Making new friends, going on dates, and basically rocking it. You're growing, changing, and this neighbor guy, he can't help but notice AND HIS FREAKING DAMN SISTER IS HELPING YOU OUT because the poor dear has no clue about either of your feelings.

This is a genuine question for y’all. Whilst I am working on my main fic (reading the books) how would you guys feel abt a 6-11k one shot from a brain rot I’ve been having for awhile. (Percy Jackson Fic)

Like If I never write it down I will genuinely go insane. It’s completely self-indulgent no matter why, but I want to know what you guys think.

It’s a pairing that… well you definitely don’t ever see it. It’s the multi relationship fan fiction, it would be a five person pairing but soulmates!

It has plot bc it’s been marinating in my head for the past 6 months.

This won’t stop me from working on the main fan fiction by the way. I just need this fic idea plotted so it can stop taking up my brain.

WRITING ADVICE THAT I HEARD (THAT ABSOLUTELY WORKS FOR ME)

Okay, so I am writing these tips that I have learned/heard from other authors. It worked for me, I just want to share it just in case other people might find it helpful too!

Know the ending of your story before starting it.

Whenever you have an idea, WRITE IT. IMMEDIATELY! (before you could even lose it or worse, forget it)

READ MORE !!! (get inspiration from other people's books)

Write EVERYTHING. Just correct/edit them later when you are finished.

Explore other genres. (do not get stuck with one genre. instead, read/write other genres. you never know, you might be better at writing other genres)

Similar to the first one, CREATE OUTLINES PER CHAPTERS !! I REPEAT, CREATE OUTLINES. (in this way, it would be easier to write because you have a summary of what is going to happen in each chapter.)

hero and villain to lovers

*actually* unwilling hero

side character or villain as mc instead of hero

mc is evil but slowly turns good

mc is good but slowly turns evil

lovers to enemies

enemies to I-will-kill-for-you-friends

the understanding what they're saying without saying a word

street smart / brain smart

enemies who are actually very similar from the reader's pov

wants to be a hero but the journey makes them more, not less, scared

this should not be underused but: faerie/human relationships where the age difference is not of literal millennia. I get they're attractive, but if they did not have their looks—are they still attractive? why is that the going factor?

people who have tension and almost become romantically inclined but don't

slice of life

mc is the villain

symbolic magic

a human mc who is sent to live in a fantasy world

the good guys win, but at a terrible cost

the mc dies

the villain wins

people who have a happy, healthy family relationship

antagonists who truly believe they're doing something for the greater good—and would sacrifice themselves for this great cause
