Chloe had potential for a redemption arch her finding the bee miraculous could've set her on a path where she could have shown more debth a softer side. But they doubled down and i too mourn the loss of potential but chloe as she is in canon doesnt deserve shit
I will concede that the puzzle pieces for a possible Redemption Arc are in the show - abuse mom and over indulgent dad make for a very clear picture of why Chloe is the way she is, and then a huge dynamic shift by introducing super powers into the mix could've been a good starting point for...something. I agree there's potential here.
But what happened in canon wasn't Chloe making changes, it was the people around her changing how they looked at her (as well as the audience). Chloe didn't change herself and the pity she garnered just made her even more entitled when the characters started making more concessions for her, like giving her a Miraculous or throwing her a party or not punishing her for ruining a birthday gift, etc.
I'll agree with people mourning the wasted potential, but I disagree with people who think Chloe's Redemption Arc was active in the show and then ruined, because I don't think it ever started.

What do you think was the most pointless plot point in the show?
Couldn’t pick just one so here‘s a list in no particular order:
Rich kid sentimonsters: uninteresting, confusing, stupid
The mari//chat mini arc thing in s5: cute but ultimately just fan service and Mari went back to Adrien either way so yeah
Chloe‘s „arc“ post s3 : she just became annoying and pathetic. If the show gets rebooted one day I hope she gets redeemed just to spite on Astruc
Luka figuring out both identities: leads to brazil nowhere
Marinette‘s dating trauma: super unnecessary, just there to drag thing out further and created more inconsistencies (but also it made me feel validated in shipping Lukanette so at least I got something out of it😂)
Gabriel‘s redemption: … why? (Obviously bc the show just really loves white men who really love their family a lot uwu🥺)
Adrien staying oblivious to all of this: just straight up insulting to his character
Su-Han: he‘s literally just there to yell at Mari and not be her mentor and serves no purpose at all
Magical akuma charms: didn‘t they work just so well?
Jagged the deadbeat dad: the way everyone just went along with it? hello?? THE POTENTIAL FOR ANGST??

Heyyyyyy
You know what's up it's your favorite mom
Can I get uhhhh "“Stop squirming or I’ll stop. I’m being nice right now. Didn’t you tell me I was going too fast just a few moments ago? Now you’re going to sit here while I take my time slowly fucking into you. Baby, don’t cry, you’ll get to cum eventually, I promise." For Grusha? Don't even pretend to be surprised I've been waiting ever since you whispered about doing this event
Love you sweetie thanks for feeding me 😘
All hail the cursed one! Ask and you shall receive, mother. Also I wrote this one and like one other prompt hoping you'd ask for Grusha, so glad I got it spot on with the one you'd ask for.
Warning: This is NSFW so if you’re under the legal age or uncomfortable with content like this, please skip over this one!

NSFW Grusha: Stop it
“Stop squirming or I’ll stop. I’m being nice right now. Didn’t you tell me I was going too fast just a few moments ago?" Grusha asked, his hips slowly going in and out of your hole. You felt like you were going insane with the lackadaisical pace he picked up. You could feel every ridge of his cock going in and out of you, but none of it was enough to throw you over the edge.
"G-Grusha please, baby please." you whimpered, tears coming to your eyes as you pleaded with him. The beautiful man on top of you had a smirk on his face, his eyes half lidded as he looked down on you almost tauntingly.
No, now you’re going to sit here while I take my time slowly fucking into you. Baby, don’t cry, you’ll get to cum eventually, I promise." Grusha assured you, wiping one of the stray tears from your eyes. You hated him so much. How he could be so nice and gentle with you one moment, but then drive you up the wall the next.
"F-faster please..." You whined out and Grusha snapped his hips harshly against your own, making you cry out in ecstasy. You had been so damn close earlier.
"Be good for me, or else I'll stop all together and you can just keep me warm."

Do you think that there's the possibility that official Miraculous could be "fixed*?
I mean, outside of the movie and a reboot. If they threw away all the writers and brought, I dunno, Dana Terrace? Could the new writers fix things using everything that was already laid out?
And if so, any idea of how it would be possible?
I think if Season 5 didnt exist, I would say it was possible
But as is, I dont think so. It sucks to feel that way, but too much rubbish has happened that would need to be retconned out of existence
Soft reboots are hard to get right even for a good show, but for this one its impossible i think
Plus you would still need to watch the whole show to get the full experience, which would mean slogging through 5 seasons of shit to get to the good stuff. Wouldnt make sense
So long answer short
No, this show is unsalvageable in my eyes

Follow up to yesterday's post b/c I am a bit salty still.
The idea people in general are less creative because they're writing fan fic is absolutely ludicrous to me. People write fan fic for so many reasons and fan fic has been a medium for, oh thousands of years, and is now so easy to find means more people are writing and oh my god, gasp, having fun.
But on top of those who are having fun, there are a goodly percentage who do write both! (I can name half a dozen trad pubbed authors off the top of my head who have or do write fan fic.) Or those who start in fan fic and move over to original.
People tell stories because there are stories they want to see and published media isn't giving them those stories. That's the short of it, really. Whether these stories are fan fic or original is rather immaterial in my opinion. (Both have their place. Thank you.)
But oh my god, you say anything along the lines you think people are being less creative because they aren't creating their own universes, it just tells me that you have not LOOKED. Yes, AO3 is great because it makes this free story medium easily available and searchable and tagged. Original fiction still LACKS a AO3 style listing. Just, go to a bookstore. Go to a LIBRARY. For the love of little green apples, check wattpad, AMAZON, royal road, even here on tumblr there is a THRIVING community of original fiction authors BEGGING for attention.
Look traditional publishing is out there trying to push at you what they think sells. And what they think sells isn't always what people have written and want published and want to see, so there is Indie, struggling in the over saturation because of algorithms to be seen and heard and appreciated. And is it all good? Can you find it easily? No. Not really. But it is OUT THERE. People are being creative and maybe if we had MORE publishing houses, there'd be a MORE variety of stories published and in bookstores.
Just... a salty indie author thought.

It’s still not going to be satisfying even if Adiren gets to confront his father about his actions in a later season.
S5 is meant to be the end of an era, whether the show continues or not (which it will, as far as I’m aware). So the two who started it all should both get the opportunity to confront the main villain and get that big emotional moment. It’s something everyone has wanted since it was made clear that Gabriel is Hawkmoth. This was supposed to be that big moment.
I’ve argued before that the show robs Marinette of emotional agency. And I still stand by that. The show puts her through the most embarrassing situations for laughs and doesn’t allow her to process emotions. She’s not allowed to get angry or sad or express frustration or disagree with anyone, unless it somehow benefits her romance with Adrien. And even if it does, she’s still put through the ringer for it.
Adrien is on the opposite side of the coin - he’s either allowed to process his emotions about certain things (namely romance) or completely sheltered from knowing things that would actually be beneficial to his arc (or, you know, having one). This is why I’ve always argued against him being a main character - his motivation is romance only, and he’s barred from exploring things that would challenge or even benefit his character. Even when storylines are gift wrapped for him, the show would rather keep him unaware.
Now, of course, there’s another elephant in the room and that’s the fact that they sabotaged themselves back in season 3 with Chat Blanc. In fact, season 3 did a lot of sabotaging of expected payoff moments. The general line of thinking to somehow improve this by making us wait as long as possible for the real thing. I guess the tension is supposed to now lie in the fact that Marinette knows that Adrien’s father is Hawkmoth and he doesn’t, and man, he will be mad when he finds out.
But is anyone really invested in a storyline like that?

How much salt do you think a salt fic should have before it becomes too unpleasent to read?
Great question! First, it's important to note that different people are going to have different salt tolerances, some folks just want a little for flavoring while others want the whole dang salt shaker. But there is a happy medium that most can agree on as pleasant to read.
Next we need to define salt. Because it's slang and it gets used (and misused) to mean a lot of things. One need not go out of character (OC) and full evil to be salt. Salt/salty has to do with being upset, angry, bitter, or hostile. Some people require these feelings to be associated with embarrassment, failure, being attacked or out of place in order to be considered salt, but most people (myself included) don't require this qualifier.
To be a salt fic, these salty feelings need to be the driving theme of the story. This can be realistic, exaggerated, or wildly unrealistic. You can keep the characters as canon as possible or go massively OC.
In my Saltinette story the goal was to be realistic and stick with canon as much as possible. As a result it's on the lower end of salt options for this situation. To increase the salt content, I had Marinette decide to leave school and let go of her friendships. It's a somewhat nuclear option for her academic and social life, but it's also something both my kids have had to do as a result of bullying.
In the follow-up story, Treading in the Brackish Pool, shows a lot of those salty feelings, this time from Marinette's former classmates once she's left. Again, the goal was to stay realistic and close to canon, which meant I had to explain how and why the classmates made the decisions that ultimately pushed Marinette away. I wanted to avoid making them actively evil; they're just young and a little ignorant on social stuff.
That last bit highlights where things tend to cross into too much salt to be a satisfying story. Taking a canonically kind character and making them a psychopath will definitely increase salt, but without any explanation or set up, it's going to feel wildly OC and a lot less pleasant to a larger number of people. But it can work if you set it up right.
A lot of people who write heavy Miraculous salt make Alya an active bully. In some cases this works because it's built up over time (starting with disappointment, moving to chastising or ridicule before verbal bullying and finally physical bullying). In other cases, there's no groundwork or authorial hand waving to explain how Alya went from being kind, confident, and maybe a little pushy to being okay with assault or murder. Adrien also often gets an evil makeover in heavy salt. If the author takes the time to build up Adrien's corruption from the Miraculous or a two-faced nature like his father (Paris' sweetheart in public vs controlling asshole in private) it can work really well. But a lot of times he's just OC with no justification, which will make it appeal to a smaller audience.
I think it's essential to remember that fans of a show generally like the characters. Yeah, they may not love all the characters, but you're not going to watch something that focuses on characters you hate. When you warp characters into something they aren't, the story risks losing some of its broader appeal. The more popular a character is with the audience the easier it is to step into the realm of too much salt. The same can be said for the amount of canon material for a character. If they are a major character, it's easier to go too salty. If you want to go heavy salt, setting it up as an AU or taking the time to show how the characters grew from canon into something else will help. Failure to do either of these will result it a reduced audience appeal.
Did that answer you or did I go wildly around the question? Let me know! Thanks for asking

I just can't understand this season finale, gabriel agreste being remembered as a hero with a commemorative statue….Are we crazy? The biggest jerk in the universe doesn't deserve to be remembered as a hero, this is bullsh*t, asstruck!
And that "Don't tell my son, let him remember the good times" Aha yes, I don't think it's necessary to mention that because of him, Adrien destroyed a parallel reality after causing him an emotional breakdown… 2 times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He literally deprived him of his freedom like 2 or 3 times, with bars in his room and isolating him in a closed room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He use Adrien as a brand to promote his shit, I treat him more as an object than as a person and now you're telling me to remember the good times?!
Tumblr media
you know? Gaby doesn't deserve to be remembered, but he didn't deserve to die either, the guy should have gone to prison for the rest of his remarkable life and rot behind bars regretting every second that he decided to become a terrorist with cosmic powers. Marinette only keep the hawk moth secret so Adrien doesn't feel bad knowing the truth about how sh*tty his father was.

I thought of a great new Miraculous hero villain character while washing dishes today: the school district superintendent who has become sick of all the anonymous complaints he’s been getting about the disciplinary situation and finally shown up to sort out the situation himself.
Superintendent: Just for the record, a local mayor doesn’t have the ability to fire you, no matter how corrupt he is. That’s MY call to make.
Principal Assclown Damocles: *visibly sweating*
-
Ms. Bustier: Please, I have a baby on the way!
Superintendent: And if you actually discipline them, maybe they won’t turn out to be as much a nightmare as some of your students.

I also think the recent ep where Mari is scolded for not improving Chloe's behavior as a class rep, is not fair. A class rep is there to be the voice for the students and act as a form of communication, not mentor or educate another child. Mari also became class rep to stop Chloe's bullying, not reform her or give her therapy. I can't believe they (the class) actually gave the class rep position to Lila, even Marinette has done so much for them, and little Miss Liar is only full of hot air. Side eye
The Class Rep thing in "Revelation" was so dumb in all aspects, like, FIRST of all-
Lila cannot seriously be bringing up that it's "undiplomatic" that they held elections without her when she wasn't even going to Francois Dupont yet, are you trying to look me in the face and tell me "Volpina" happened before FREAKING "Darkblade"?! (And obviously no one brings up this fact when she's talking nonsense)
WHY is Bustier even entertaining this garbage when there's two weeks of school left?! Like, sorry Lila, try again in high school if you can even get in with your attendance record. The only things left for the Class Rep to even do is the Student -Teacher Career Course planning which sounds super important and like a really dumb thing to suddenly hand over to two people who haven't been preparing for it in the slightest!
Marinette is running on the "Actually this is pointless, I've done great as a class president because it's actually not my job to change Chloe for the better, especially when Bustier, her parents, and Ladybug herself couldn't get her to pull her head out of her ass, so I'm going to spend my time on things that actually matter and will have results" and legit why does anyone care about "improving Chloe" when in TWO WEEKS they will be at TOTALLY DIFFERENT SCHOOLS and hopefully NEVER have to see her in person again?! Though realistically she should be running on the "we have two weeks left why are we even here" campaign.
And Lila is running on the "Chloe can change if someone just worked with her instead of spending all their time on their own romance like a selfish jerk" platform and the class eats this up just because Chloe is "willing" to be Lila's deputy. Except Lila has been hanging out with and being friends with Chloe since freaking "Penalteam"! And guess who's still an asshole despite your "influence" Lila?! OH RIGHT, YOUR NEW DEPUTY! Hell, "Adoration" JUST happened 3 episodes ago where Chloe was framing Marinette for theft! Your "influence" isn't worth SHIT to anyone paying attention!
Now, Lila's only going for the President role so she can fuck everyone over in "Confrontation", so obviously this stupid campaign was going to happen and Lila was going to win just to set up the Big Bang where Lila exposes herself. Who cares that it stretches suspension of belief past it's limits, that's just the Gold Standard when it comes to Lila schemes.
Anyway, can't wait for her grand plans as The Villain of the next arc. -_-

Do you think the recent reveal that Kagami also found out that Marinette's Ladybug was a deliberate attempt of the writers to undermine Luka (considering the fact she didn't accidentally let Monarch found out she knew despite being akumatized twice, meanwhile Luka let Monarch accidentally know despite managing to prevent himself from being fully akumatized)?
I don't know if that really undermining him or just a stupid writing inconsistency, but the Kagami thing raises so many questions.
Like... okay, let me try to explain this.
The problem with Luka was that he actively thought about how Mari and Adrien are LB and CN. Then Monarch tries to akumatize him, and Luka gives himself away because he panicks. Not because Monarch read his mind, he just made an educated guess about why Luka resists so hard. So now the question is, if Luka had let himself gotten akumatized without panicking, would've Monarch found out he knew in the first place? Exactly how much access does Monarch have to the memories and knowledge of his victims? Was this ever touched upon? Because if Kagami knew, was akumatized twice and didn't give the heroes away, it can't be that much, right?
And logically, she should've also actively thought about how Mari is LB because she was akumatized just a few minutes after overhearing Mari and Alyas conversation! Was she in the clear simply because she didn't have any big reaction to it? Because she didn't seem shocked or surprised, she just looked like as if someone told her the wheather forecast.
It's just... if Monarch can't find out secret identities via akumatization, as seen in Kagami's case, why is it such a big deal for Luka, or anyone really, to know?
If Kagami had somehow also figured out who CN is, would the outcome be different if she had the same unphased reaction to this information? Or would she have to leave as well?
I guess you could say prior to the audience knowing that Kagami knows, it made sense for everyone that Luka has to be protected in some way from akumatization, and leaving Paris would've been a way to do that. Now with Kagami knowing without any negative outcome, it just seems like it doesn't matter how much a person knows, so Luka could just keep chilling in Paris and pretend he doesn't know and Monarch would be non the wiser.
Idk maybe I'm missing something but who cares anyway, canon is dead to me

Why Writing Marinette Is So Hard For Me (and maybe you will relate)
I'd talked with my friend about MLB characters, particulary miss Mari Sue Bread-Maker here. Even though I cast aside my salty behaviour to her and trying to see her as a plastic doll figure to write as a character, I still can put a finger on her base personality. But I'm drawing blanks here. It's because when I look at her throughout the seasons, the writers always trying to stick cool things to her, never actually developing her base that would make a decent start in writing. It's like they got a bulletin board of her with some of her base personaliry being overwhelmed and stacked brim full with sticky notes of "cool", "quirky", and "not like the other girls" things because she is sooo amazing she needs to be good at everything except being near Adrien, teehee~
All I can think of is something her stans would call "personality" (which is quite questionable if you really want to meet that kind of person in real life) on this list :
Clumsy: This one is not a personality but a motoric problem and needed to get treated asap before you are flying down the stairs. Where's all the bruises she got if she falls for the nth time that day? Girl's skin are thinner than boys.
"Loving" Adrien: Again, not a personality but a problem that needs to be treated asap before she got jail time. That fireman is insane to help a teenager becoming a criminal early in her life. Don't tell me that's how he approaches his wife...
"Overly Planning": Thrice of again, go to therapy asap. We only see her doing this to Adrien, not even her mom got a ready gift for the next 20 years. You might say that it's different kind of "love" but nah. If she is a real planner, she would swipe out a gift for her mom asap from under her desk. If you follow with her having ALL of her classmates schedules, she would be burning through her textiles to get them presents for their birthday for at least another 2-3 years.
I asked again to another friend of mine who usually write ideas and AUs. He said that even though Mari Sue's talents are admirable in handiwork, it even got corroded when the seasons stretched out. It only got passing mention of a few minutes screentime of certain episodes, but there's nothing that can ties her "passion" to her personality. She doesn't examine the texture of textiles, saying that it feels appropriate for [project] (eye for details); she doesn't take notes or inspirations from a painting, feelings, or stories ; heck, she doesn't even carry her needle and threads everywhere she goes in case of something; not even excitedly rambling about fashion like freaking Alya rambling about her scoop of journalism. The little details is to build importance of her passion, and it shows that the writers just don't care.
No wonder all I can think of when thought of her is her creepy, stalkerish, obsessive, and control freak tendencies because it's what apparently stay coherent throughout the seasons.
Seriously. All I can do is making an entire whole new personalities for her and I don't freaking wanna do that because I want to go straight to writing with a decent base. I would lose my drive to write just to remember to separate Mari Sue canon self and what personality I think would fit in.

SFW Prompt - Brassius - “Look, I got you a stuffed animal. It looks just like you with that disappointed look on your face.” Can I get a headcanon/imagine format?
Event Information | Prompts List
SFW Brassius: Stuffed Animals
"Brassius!" You called out cheerily, making your way through his art studio. A few things here and there caught your eyes on what he was working on, but you didn't let it distract you from your main goal. Brassius had on an apron as he worked on painting his newest sculpture, but turned at hearing your voice.
"My muse." He called out, giving you a small nod in response. He was clearly very much into his work and didn't notice the item you were holding in your hands. You cleared your throat in order to get his attention, and Brassius finally turned to look at you.
"Look, I got you a stuffed animal!" You said and noticed his frown at seeing pink ball in your hands, "It looks just like you with that disappointed look on your face." You commented. The small Jigglypuff plushie in your hands had a frowny face with some bags under its eyes. When you saw it, you simply had to get it for Brassius.
Brassius shook his head as he stood up and walked over to you. He took the plush from your hands and then leaned down to look at you. "I'm not disappointed in your choice, I'm disappointed they got the worst expression known to man for this Jigglypuff." Brassius said and you chuckled.
"I think he was modeled after you." You noted to him.
"I think not."

Okay but like why is it “Kwami’s choice” and not “The Guardian of the fucking Miracle Box’s choice”. Have we forgotten Marinette SHOULD be the one choosing?
Also if Marinette doesn’t wonder out loud “hey why did Plagg choose this new girl and not Cat Walker?” I’m gonna laugh
If anything I want Marinette to go “Man it’s so nice being able to spend a day without Tikki chastising me for everything”
