The kid and I went for a walk today. I did about 7.5km’s.

I look and feel like a train wreck. I don’t think I’ve put on makeup since Christmas.

My Mom just texted me the photo below. This is my Auntie, sister and me (on my Mom’s 60th birthday). My Mom wrote that she always loved my dark hair and I looked gorgeous. Thanks, Mom. This was 8 years ago and I was still 39. Everyone looks good in their 30’s. lol.

I look at this and think about how much has happened since then. When people say “life starts at 40”, I can’t really relate. I definitely was handed a “new life” but it wasn’t the one I wanted. Wish there was a return policy on it. Hello. I’d like a refund, please.

That being said, I suppose it hasn’t been all bad.

(Yeah, I’m still trying hard to focus on the positives or the shitty depression will continue to swallow me whole.)

So now I’m going to make a cup of tea, eat a little cream puff and read my book. 😆 I started Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood. It’s part of a 3 book trilogy. (The first was Oryx and Crake which was awesome and the last book is Maddaddam).
