I'm a germany fan and an england despiser ever since the lost euros last year bc I was in england at that time and I had to see that on the bbc. Everytime england do anything in sports I just wish them the absolute worst so this world cup has been genuinely horrific for me and all the bad vibes I have been sending towards england clearly haven't been working (been asleep for quite a bit of it due to me being in south america currently) and I am so sorry ! I have been trying so hard with the telepathic bad vibes
SOOO real for this and it's so okay. ten mins left I have faith in tillies bc im delusional :) keep sending the bad vibes we can do this kfkdkd

Hello! Do you happen to know if there is anywhere we can rewatch the U20 world cup matches? I've tried using FIFA but the replay for the full matches never load for me (even though I've watched a few livestreams just fine)
The FIFA+ replays aren't working for me either, while the live streams do work. (I tried it on Firefox & Google Chrome on my computer, and checked with the app on my iPad. None of them worked for the replays.)
I don't know where else to re-watch them, sorry. If there is a broadcaster in your area they might have put up replays, but unfortunately this tournament doesn't seem to have a lot of broadcasters.

Thought your post about being proud of your team was about the USWNT and was like “well I’m NOT what are you even talking about - oh the tags say Columbia that makes way more sense”
I’m pretty disappointed with the USWNT but the way literally everyone else has been playing and how all these underdog countries have been kicking ass through the whole tournament has been amazing!
Aww I'm so sorry USWNT didn't have the performance you were hoping for. I was also very excited to see them play, and although I thought they were good I understood it was not the level the team is used to play (this is my first time watching women national teams all around).
I hope you guys get the magic back, and also I hope the competition keeps getting better for everyone. Having small teams surpass the usual favorites is always a nice surprise. I want everyone to be at a level you really have no clue of who's going to win!
See you on the next cup, hope we get to play a final some day!!!

You've known Lena for what seemed like forever. From the moment the two of you met you couldn't be kept away from each other. Now three years on, the two of you were as thick as thieves.
Only up until recently, you had been thinking of Lena in a different way. Going from longing gazes to discrete touches. You knew you were falling for the girl but you just couldn't stop yourself.
You knew you couldn't do anything with these feelings so you kept them buried deep down. Not telling anyone. Not a single soul.
Due to hiding your feelings you had been different around Lena, and you were sure she could sense it. As much as it pained you, you tried to put a little distance between you both but you were just not able to keep her from running around in your mind.
You were currently sitting on your sofa at home, scrolling through instagram when you noticed that Lena had posted. Clicking on her account you could’ve sworn you had heart palpitations.
Immediately liking her new photo, your heart nearly jumped out of your chest once you saw a message pop up at the top of your screen.
[ lena: 6:56pm ] eager much?
[ you: 6:56pm ] i’m sorry?
[ lena: 6:56pm ] check when i posted
Opening instagram back up, you saw how long ago she posted. And it wasn't long at all. 1 minute ago. Shit.
[ you: 6:57pm ] what? I can’t like a photo of my best friend?
Playing it cool and definitely not acknowledging the way your chest pained after typing the reply.
[ lena: 6:57pm ] oh no, you can. just seemed a bit quick, no?
[ you: 6:57pm ] i refreshed the app and you popped up
[ lena: 6:57pm ] mhm sureeeee
[ you: 6:58pm ] i hate you
[ lena: 5:58pm ] no you don’t
[ you: 5:58pm ] i’m pretty sure i do
[ lena: 5:58pm ] so if i invited you over for pizza and a movie you wouldn't come?
[ you: 5:59pm ] i hate you
[ lena: 5:59pm ] i’ll see you in a bit
You huffed out a laugh, getting up from the sofa with a sinking feeling in your stomach. You couldn't help but wonder what it’d be like if you actually told her how you felt. Shaking your head, you got rid of that idea.
Grabbing your keys from your kitchen counter, you put your shoes on and made your way over to Lena’s. It wasn’t a long drive and before you knew it you were standing outside her front door, waiting for her to let you in.
“The stalker’s here.” Lena grinned as she opened the door.
“Ha ha, very funny.” You deadpanned, walking past her and into the living room where there was pizza laid out on the coffee table.
“Wow, I don't even get a ‘hi’ and you’re already digging into the pizza.” Lena scoffed, sitting beside you on the sofa.
“I only came for free food and a movie.” You said with a grin, discreetly trying to put space between the two of you.
“Whatever.” Lena said, rolling her eyes as she tried to fight off a smile that made its way onto her face.
“What movie are we watching?” You asked, taking another slice of pizza.
“Ten things I hate about you.”
“Really?”
“What? I like a good romcom.” Lena shrugged, taking a slice of her own and pressing play on the movie.
As the movie went on, your concentration became less and less. Your brain solely focused on the person beside you. No matter how much space you put between her, you still felt yourself being drawn back to her. Like an unexplainable force pushing you together.
Shifting in your spot, you tried to get comfortable but it was no use. Every position seemed to be more uncomfortable than the last and unbeknownst to you, Lena seemed to be having the same problem.
From all your shifting around, the two of you were now sitting next to each other. Shoulder to shoulder, thigh to thigh. Lena rested her head on your shoulder, still trying to find a comfortable position.
Accidentally, Lena let out a small grumble, becoming fed up with being uncomfortable.
“You okay?” You chuckle, looking down at Lena.
“No.” She huffed, moving off your shoulder.
“What’s up?”
“I can’t get comfy.”
“Neither.” You agreed, a small tight-lipped smile making its way onto your face.
“Lay back.” Lena said, placing her hands on your waist, pushing you to lay on your back.
“Wha- um, okay.” You said, heart pounding as you let Lena guide you back.
You got yourself in a position so your head was rested on a pillow, being slightly propped up by the arm of the sofa so you could fully lay down.
Once you had stopped moving, Lena crawled on top of you, laying her body across yours.
“Is this okay?” Lena questioned as she let out a content sigh against your neck, her breath sending goosebumps to spread like a wildfire over your skin.
“Huh- I- what?” You blushed, eyes wide as you scolded yourself for not being able to form a complete sentence.
“Do you want me to get off?” Lena asked, placing her hands on the arm of the sofa, either side of your head, so she could look at your face properly.
“No! I uh-” You coughed and let out a nervous laugh. “I don’t think so?”
“You don’t think so?” Lena repeated with a teasing tone.
“I don’t want you to get off.”
“Okay.” Lena smiled and moved back to the position she was in originally.
By now the movie was long forgotten and you couldn't help the way your heart sped up at how Lena was on top of you.
Not knowing what to do without malfunctioning, you kept your arms up in the air, deciding that was the better option.
“You can touch me, y’know. I’m not fragile.” Lena said softly, reaching her arm out to grab yours, placing it around her waist.
“Mhm, yeah. I know that.” You said, placing your other arm on her back, slowly drawing intricate patterns.
The two of you didn't say anything for the rest of the movie, the both of you enjoying the tranquillity of the moment. As the credits played, you had failed to notice that Lena had drifted off to sleep.
You had tried to slide out from underneath her but it was no use. Shifting in her sleep, Lena mumbled a few incoherent words and you knew that you had fallen so hard, you don’t think anyone would be able to save you.
Letting yourself drift off into a deep sleep, the only thing grounding you was the person on top of you.
Many hours passed and it was now the early hours of the morning, the sun peaking through the blinds caused Lena to wake up from her sleep.
Some time during the night, the two of you had shifted so she was trapped between you and the cushions of the sofa.
Lena froze, noticing the position she was currently in and letting a blush take over her features. Her leg was draped over yours, tangled together and her hand had made its way up your top, resting on your stomach.
Snapping herself out of her thoughts, Lena quickly removed her hand from under your top, suddenly feeling her fingertips grow cold.
Shifting in your sleep, you wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her just a tad closer and resting your head in her neck.
“You’re staring.” You mumbled, eyes still closed as you let a small smile take over your face.
“I’m not.” Lena protested, weakly trying to get out of your hold.
“You’re lucky I like you.” You smiled, moving your head back to the pillow and tightening your grip on her.
Lena laid quietly for a while, assuming you had drifted back off to sleep before she spoke up again.
“I like you too.” She whispered, brushing a strand of hair that fell over your face.
“I knew it.” You smirked, pulling her closer into you. “Now go back to sleep.”
Lena let out a small chuckle, pressing her lips to your cheek before cuddling herself into you and drifting back off into sleep.

Opening Match
Summary: It's the Matilda's first 2023 World Cup Match, against Ireland and you're starting.
Warnings: Panic (I guess – but not like a panic attack, I don’t think), mentions of Sam’s WWC injury….
A/N: ACL injuries don’t exist in this universe, if only that was the case in the real world. Tried to make it semi-factual, so like the times at which things happen are factual, however obviously the goals aren’t. (Also I know the Lionesses were in QLD and the Matildas were in NSW but let’s just pretend they weren’t)
Tumblr media
It had been an hour, and you still couldn’t get to sleep, you were too scared for tomorrow, Tony was starting you, which he had told you this morning, Sam had injured herself and he decided you were the best replacement, the only saving grace was that only the your Captain’s, Tony, and yourself knew this, the rest of the team would find out tomorrow, so at least you weren’t reminded of it all day.
You had millions of thoughts racing through your mind, preventing you from sleeping, causing the panic to ever so slowly increase. “What if I screw up” “What if this team wasn’t the right team” “What if I let the whole team down” “What if I don’t meet their expectations” “What if my streak at Arsenal has just been a fluke”.
A few tears had left your eyes at these thoughts, creating little puddles on your pillow. You decided to get up and go into the hallway, if you were going to cry you didn’t want to wake up Steph. You were crying for such a stupid reason, anyone would kill to be in the starting 11 for the Matildas, let alone a 16-year-old, yet here you were crying, wishing you could be anything but the Matildas starting 11. You quietly got out of your bed and walked towards the door, you opened the door just enough so you could slide out, trying to minimise the light that flooded the room, you made sure to keep hold of the door as it shut in hopes of it closing silently, you didn’t want to make a noise, you didn’t want to wake Steph or anyone else up. Except the thing was, Steph was actually still awake. She waited a while to see if you would come back thinking you had just gone to fill up your water bottle at the end of the hall, however when she noticed your water bottle was still sitting on the side table, she grew a little concerned, but she reassured herself that maybe you were just getting some Panadol or something from the medics. However, when she heard a faint sniffle come from just outside the door she panicked, she quickly jumped out of her bed, and made her way out into the hall.
“Oh bug,” she sighed out at the sight of you, beginning to sit next to you. You sat curled in a ball leaning against the wall, body slightly shaking with your sobs, you looked up at her, your face was red and tearstained, and your eyes were puffy. “It’s okay, I’m here,” she said softly as she pulled you into her lap, you sat there as she rocked you slightly trying to calm you down, you felt like a baby, how could you be so upset over this, and now you had disturbed Steph’s peace because of your pathetic little problem.
“I’m sorry, didn’t mean to wake you” you mumbled into Steph’s chest.
“Don’t be sorry, you can always wake me for absolutely anything, but you didn’t actually wake me I was still awake” she gently replied, as she wiped your tears away with her shirt.
“Oh,” “Do you want to tell me what’s going on?” “I don’t think I should start tomorrow, what if I stuff up, what if I’m not good enough for them, what if I don’t live up to their expectations, what if-” you were cut off by your ever increasing sobs, making it hard to speak, Steph sighed at your words, she had suggested that they didn’t start you, just brought you on early, but Sam and Tony thought starting you was best, coming out with a bang. Steph had hoped maybe her suggestion would be taken, reducing some of the pressure, the media was all over you already, pressuring you, so too were the fans. You were the sister of Leah Williamson, the women who captained the Lionesses to Euro’s victory in 2022, the women who once again would Captain the Lionesses in the fight for yet another victory, one that could well possibly be theirs. There was something extraordinary expected from you by the public, and the second the starting line-up was released that would only increase.
“Y/N/N, it’s okay to be nervous and a little scared, everyone does, it won’t stop, but you get used to it and before some games you will get more nervous than other games, why do you think I wasn’t asleep. But you can’t let the outside world affect you, the people in this building and in this team believe in you, and if you don’t do as well as you hoped well so be it, everyone had off days, off games. Don’t listen to them, they would faulter the second they took a step on the pitch, even the commentators yes they do know what they are talking about but at the end of the day they are there for the public so they are going to feed them, and I promise, we wouldn’t have chosen you if we didn’t believe in you, and Tony only expects that you try your hardest every time you step onto that pitch, that’s all any of us want.”
“Yeah, I guess,” you sigh before continuing “but why are you nervous for tomorrow?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, you said you weren’t sleeping, and then you said some games you get more nervous than others, so I just assumed-” you were cut of by the sound of a door opening, you both look up to see Sam sleepily walking over to you rubbing her eyes.
“Shit, sorry did we wake you up, I didn’t think we were that loud” Steph whispered as Sam sat down.
“No, don’t worry, I couldn’t sleep, thought I heard something so just wanted to check, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing, it doesn’t matter” Sam gave you a look, causing you to blurt it out “I’m scared Sam, what if I stuff up, what if I’m not good enough for them, and now I’ve disturbed both of you when you should be relaxing and sleeping and I shouldn’t be upset about this, it should be something happy but I’m too scared to be happy, and, and my problem isn’t even a big problem, I mean you can’t play and now I’m technically in a way complaining about being in the starting 11 to the person whose spot I took” at those words Sam looked down at the floor, the tears that had started welling up in your eyes, started streaming down, “I-I’m S-sorry, I-I, I shouldn’t have said that”.
Sam looked back up at you, her face held a sterner and more serious look “No, don’t apologise, it’s okay, you did nothing wrong, and never think just because some else may or may not have a bigger problem than you, that your emotions and feelings aren’t valid, and never apologise for what you say. And yes, I can’t play and you get to play but at the same time that doesn’t mean you can’t be upset, it’s a big thing starting in a major tournament let alone …..” you nodded finding her words to be oddly comforting and had stopped crying, Sam had pulled out her phone and was messaging someone, so you looked up to Steph.
“You know, you never answer my question from before,” “Really, I thought I got out of that one” “Nah-uh” you say with some sass as you shake your head.
“I don’t know, I just guess I didn’t really expect to be leading the team out, it’s kind of scary, I mean this is our chance to make history and I guess in a way I’m leading the team out and am in charge of the start of our chance. I just don’t know, its silly anyway,” Steph let out as a singular tear rolled down her check.
“Steph, you have nothing to worry about, you are such an amazing player, and you are such a great leader, and such a great big sister and mini Mum, I believe in you, as you said, Tony wouldn’t have picked you if he didn’t believe in you,” Steph blushed at your kind words, before letting out a small laugh at your end comment, she hug you tighter and mouthed ‘thank you’, before the three of you feel into a calm silence.
“I think we should go outside, get some fresh air quickly” Sam said, breaking the silence whilst almost winking at Steph. “Good idea, Sam”
“But its late, wont we get in trouble?” The last thing you wanted was to be getting in trouble the night before your first world cup game.
“No, we’ll be fine, we will only be quick and plus as Sam said some fresh air will do you good” Steph said as she practically dragged you upright. As you left the elevators and walked towards the hotel doors, you noticed an oddly familiar figure standing just outside the doors, they were holding something, what you didn’t notice was the smile your two captains exchanged at the sight of this figure, Sam opened the door and you stepped outside into the cool air, before you found yourself running up to the figure, “Le!” you exclaimed as you jumped into the arms of your sister, “what are you doing here?”
“Well, I might’ve been told by a certain someone that my little sister was upset, and I thought I would quickly come visit to cheer her up.” You planted your feet back on the ground and said thank you to Sam before turning to talk with your sister, after a few minutes you both had to go back to your rooms, so you said bye to each other. She gave you one of her hoddies which you put on, it being the next best thing to being with her. You fell asleep almost as soon as your head hit the pillow, you were tired after all.
______
You were lining up in the tunnel when the nerves started to kick back in, probably due to the fact that when the teams were announced it was also announced that this is your first time starting, first major tournament playing for the Matildas and thus your first World Cup. You were also reminded that your sister had captained the Lionesses when they won the Euro’s just last year. But you felt Caitlin hands on your shoulders, and she squeezed them, Steph had obviously been discussing things with her. It was strange to you that the shoulder squeezes worked, but they did, they almost seemed to bring you out of your thoughts and into the present. As you walked out of the tunnel the stadium erupted, fans cheered like you’d never heard before, which is saying something considering you did attend the Euro’s final, you took your place in the line as the anthems were sung and soon enough the game was starting.
15 minutes in and a free kick was given, you took it, it was almost close enough to just go straight for the goal but you didn’t want to risk it, so you crossed it in, but instead of the ball finding a place at one of your teammates feet or head, it found a place in the back of the net, you had just scored your first goal for the Matildas, your first goal at a major tournament, your first goal at a world cup and the first Matildas goal of the world cup. You were elated. Your elation only increased at the 26th minute, when you headed the ball and it hit the back of the net, however you couldn’t take full credit for that one, Steph had delivered it in perfectly, you just had the easy job of tapping it in.
It was now extra time for the first half, you knew Tony was taking you off at half time, he had told you at the 35th minute during the ‘team tactical’ while Katie was down, Ireland was playing more aggressive than expected and Tony wasn’t risking having his two best strikers injured. Knowing this you decided to push yourself to your limits, you were running after every ball, you were taking tackles, and somehow by some miracle you scored your third goal in the final minute of extra time, you didn’t even know how you did it but you did, and with your goal the ref blew her whistle and the first half was over. The team ran over to you to celebrate, “Hattrick baby!” was screamed in your ear by someone, you all jumped up and down continuing to celebrate before deciding you should probably head back inside.
“Good game?” Sam asked as you walked into the tunnel together.
“Great Game!” You exclaimed, as you followed her through the door, to the locker room.
You took a seat in your locker ready to listen to Tony, being number 8 your locker was in-between Steph and Caitlin’s, “She might hate you now, though,” Caitlin said with a wink, it was a compliment in its finest, but it felt nice to get an inside compliment, like an inside joke not everyone would understand what she means.
“How do you feel? Like a million bucks?” Steph asked.
“Nope, like I chose the right team.”

Happy New Year from WWC, Updates, aka we’re alive! (12/31/22)
Hi lovely followers,
First of all, thanks so much for your patience and all your continued support for WritingWithColor. 2022 has been heavily, heartily, devoted to tending to our personal lives, from pressing demands at work, school, mental health, family matters, and so on. All the while, trying to dig through the long backlog of Q's.
2023 should show us some more devotion to WWC. We'll answer more questions, invite fresh mods in the team to balance the load, and last (but not least) get the new Writingwithcolor.org up and running! Your kind donations have gone towards the new blog in progress and will continue to support it. Once that’s all established and stabilized, we’ll look into meeting our other fun goals, such as:
Diverse writing advice e-publications.
Follower giveaways and bonus content.
Charity and community causes.
See support the mods page to donate or learn more
We have made some major strides behind the scenes, though.
Progress made in 2022
Here's some progress made so far.
1. Writingwithcolor.org, as mentioned, is a thing! Its also been around for a while. It won't forever lead to tumblr, but to our new site, when it's complete. But as long as Tumblr is around and working for us, we'll keep some sort of link between them, so no need for you to fully switch to a new platform to see our content. (Note: you can use that URL to share WWC on other social media. Facebook has blocked all Tumblr URLs, as is.)
2. Major clean-up in the tags, improvements to search. You'll notice both consolidation and separation of some tags. For example, you can search the tags for "Black stereotypes" or even "Black women stereotypes" whereas before they were separated out, which created a less concise search.
Updated tags and improvements:
X + stereotypes (e.g. Jewish stereotypes, Jewish women stereotypes, etc.)
X + tropes (e.g. Black tropes, Black men tropes, etc.)
X + names (e.g. Indian names, Korean names, etc.)
Colonialism, was colonization
Exotification, was exotic
Fetishization, was fetish
Othering, was other
Microaggressions, was micro-aggressions (the "-” breaks search)
lgbtqia, was lgbtqa+ and lgbtqia+ (the “+” breaks search)
interracial + romance, friendship, relationships, marriage, adoption (it used to all be nestled under "interracial”)
Many more, with some changes ongoing. Check the navigation
What to expect in 2023
     1. Blog askbox re-opening. We haven't determined a exact date yet, but it will be early 2023. | Early 2023
     2. New askbox. Along with re-opening the askbox, we will have a new means for you to submit your questions. | Early 2023
     Our new askbox will:
Streamline the process by organizing the Q's for us (Previously, they’ve been manually screened and organized by Colette with the help of others...oo wee)
Allow us to respond to questions faster.
Help guide askers through the process to better ensure ask is meeting guidelines, making it more likely to be answered.
     3. New blog launch! Individually hosted and paid for by donation funds from you all! | Spring 2023
     4. Continued blog improvement and cleanup (i.e. tag improvement, outdated post updating or deletion, fixed broken links) | Ongoing, 2023
Again, thanks so much for your support and just enjoying the blog. If you’d like to reply to this post to boost your favorite inclusive books or media of 2022, feel free.
See ya in 2023!
Sincerely,
~Mod Colette and the WWC Team

When Worlds Collide Part 3
Tumblr media
Kate Bishop x Female Spiderwoman reader (basically has Miles powers; invisibility, electric webs)
Summary: Pancakes with Kate
Warnings: Some swearing
A/N: Thanks for all the support, you guys keep me motivated :) I know these chapters are kinda small but honestly, it's just less daunting that way and it makes it easier to write, I hope you don't mind. Also, I made a playlist WWC
PART ONE | PART TWO | PART FOUR
You woke up earlier than you would have liked, the noise coming from the street below seeped its way through the apartment windows and the binding lights crept through the gaps of the blinds. Opening your eyes, you adjusted quickly to the unfamiliar bedroom.
Part of you thought that maybe last night was all a dream, but as you looked down at Kate’s hoodie, you remembered that the raven-haired girl was very much real. Your cheeks heated up at the thought of wearing her clothes.
Stepping into the bathroom, you brushed your teeth with the spare toothbrush Kate had left out for you, which happened to be a more pastel shade of purple compared to hers. God, this woman and the colour purple.
You saw that she had left your now cleaned suit, folded neatly on the sink countertop, your underwear hidden underneath. Once again, a small blush invaded your cheeks. You put your web shooters on your wrists, feeling much more comfortable with them on than off, and decided you would change into your suit later.
Kate woke up earlier than you had, finding the couch much more uncomfortable than she remembered, but glad she didn't let you sleep on it still. She decided to get some small jobs done before you woke up, one of them was to ring Clint to let him know she was stopping by the compound with you.
“Kate, it's 6:30 in the morning, why are you even up?” Clint grumbled down the phone. It wasnt the fact that she had woken him up, Clint - much like Natasha - was an avid fan of waking up at 5 in the morning to train before everyone else. He liked the mornings for himself because everyone else was asleep so no one would bother him. Until his little protege called.
“Goodmorning to you too,” Kate chuckled, “I have something to tell you.”
Kate could hear the man sigh slightly on the phone, she knew not to take it personally. “What?”
“So basically, last night I was out on patrol–”
“-- I thought we agreed that you wouldn't go out by yourself anymore, Kate.”
“Yeah, we did… but I decided not to listen,” Kate replied sheepishly, “Anyways, that's not the point. When I was out last night, this girl basically fell out of the sky from this weird portal thing. Like it had all these bright colours and everything. And basically, she’s like Spiderman, but she’s definitely not a man and she's from another universe. She didn’t even know who you guys were, she thought the avengers were a band. Isn’t that weird? I feel like Natasha would be pretty good on Bass guitar, what do you think?”
“Sure.”
“Clint, I feel like you’re not that impressed by anything I just said,” Kate said, annoyed that he wasn’t interested in you. Who the hell wouldn’t be interested in you?
“Why don’t you just bring her to the compound? We can figure out what to do from then, ok?”
“Fine, you are really no fun today are you?” Kate teased, hearing the avenger grumble something inaudible before disconnecting the call. “Old man…”
After finishing a couple of other jobs, including the laundry which left her a little flustered, to say the least, she decided to make you guys some pancakes, gald she took Yelena’s advice and got more than one fork for her apartment.
She saw you walking into the kitchen before she heard you, thinking to herself that you were very light on your feet, much like Yelena and Natasha. “Hey, you sleep okay?” Kate asked, smiling at your tied eyes. She thought you were very cute in the mornings.
“Yeah, thank you again for letting me stay,” You replied, your voice tired but sincere.
Kate looked up from the pan, “Of course,” She smiled, finding your heavy eyes hard to look away from. “I hope you like pancakes?”
“Who doesn’t?”
Kate chuckled a little at your response, “Good point.”
When both your plates were full, you took a seat at the kitchen table, eyebrows raised at the way Kate drowned her pancakes in syrup. “You want some?” She asked, receiving a small nod from you. When she handed the bottle over, your fingers brushed gently with hers, sending a small amount of electricity running through your arm at the feeling. Literally.
“Ouch, static shock,” Kate laughed it off, waving her hand in the air slightly to get rid of the burn.
“I’m sorry, that was my fault.” Kate looked at you with a puzzled expression, you found it quite adorable how expressive her face could be. “Another one of my powers, I can conduct electricity, I call it my venom” You explained, raising your fist from the table to show the orange electricity consuming it.
“Wow,” Kate said, muffled by the pancake in her mouth.
“Yeah, pretty cool, I guess.”
Kate quickly swallowed her food, “Pretty cool? You can climb walls, shoot webs, turn invisible, and create electricity. You’re amazing! Like, the amazing-spider girl! Holy shit.”
You couldn’t help your cheeks heating up at the praise Kate was giving you, “Thank you, Kate.”
“I can’t wait to show you off to the others, you’re way cooler than our spiderman,” She laughed, and the redness on your cheeks stayed strong at the thought of her showing you off. Like you were hers to claim.
“Well, I hope I don’t disappoint.”
“Trust me, they’re gonna love you.”

[Neon lights] steven stone x reader (WWC)
one sided pining uwu have funnnn~ maybe a continuation of counting wooloo? let’s say it’s the same event lol
SFW! except maybe you’ll cry for my poor boy steven. (Y/N) is hawt goddamn. clubbing queen we love her. is she an alcoholic? we dont know lol
Steven Stone watched (Y/N) from a distance, his heart pounding in his chest with every move she made. She was a force of nature, commanding attention and admiration wherever she went. Her confidence and strength were intoxicating, and he couldn't tear his eyes away. He tips his head back and drains another full glass of Galarian whiskey. It’s like fire running down his throat. He savours the burn.
In the midst of the pulsating music and neon lights, He continued to watch (Y/N) as she danced with Raihan. The sight of her moving gracefully on the dance floor, her confidence and power on full display, made his heart ache with longing. He couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy as he saw the way the dragon type trainer looked at her, and he knew he was just one of many who admired her.
He had known (Y/N) for years, even before she became the worldwide champion and he became the emissary for the Stone Company. They had formed a close friendship over the years, and he cherished every moment they spent together. But deep down, he couldn't help but want more. He wanted to be the one dancing with her, holding her close, and making her heart race with his words.
Memories of their shared past played like a movie in his mind, taunting him with what could have been. They had been through so much together – battling fierce opponents, exploring new regions, and cheering each other on as they both rose to become champions in their respective regions. (She took his title not soon after, though.) He might have imagined it, but there had always been a spark between them, an unspoken connection that drew them together like magnets. He had never dared to cross that line.
Now, as (Y/N) laughed and flirted with the other partygoers, he couldn't help but wonder if he had missed his chance. He had always been the steady presence in her life, supporting her every step of the way, but he had never taken the risk to reveal his true feelings.
He knew that wasn't meant to be.
As he watched (Y/N) and Raihan dance, he noticed the way her laughter filled the air and how her eyes sparkled with joy. He couldn't help but smile at the sight, even though his heart ached with the knowledge that he would never be the one to make her laugh like that.
And then, as if by some cruel twist of fate, (Y/N) and Raihan made their way back to their table, where Steven was sitting alone. His heart skipped a beat as (Y/N) greeted him with a warm smile, her eyes bright with excitement.
"Hey, Steven!" she said, pulling out a chair and sitting down next to him. "You should have joined us on the dance floor! It's so much fun!" She grabs his newly-filled cup and drains it quickly.
Steven chuckled nervously, trying to hide the turmoil of emotions inside him. "I'm more of a wallflower when it comes to dancing," he replied, offering her a small smile.
(Y/N) grinned playfully. "Well, I'll have to drag you out there next time," she teased, giving his arm a playful nudge.
He felt a rush of warmth at her touch, but he quickly pushed the feeling aside, not wanting to betray the friendship they had.
As the night went on, the three of them laughed and joked, sharing stories and memories. Raihan was actually quite interesting for a gym leader with a buzzing fanbase. Steven couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment and joy in (Y/N)'s presence, even though his heart still longed for more.
When it was time to leave the club, Steven fought with Raihan offered to walk (Y/N) back to her hotel. She smiled gratefully and linked her arm with his as they walked together through the neon-lit streets.
As they strolled along, (Y/N) talked excitedly about her journey as the worldwide champion and her plans to visit the Hoenn league to see if y’all are still training hard she said. He laughed and she punched his arm.
They reached the entrance of her hotel, and (Y/N) turned to face him with a warm smile. "Thank you for tonight, Steven," she said, her eyes shining. "I had so much fun."
Steven nodded, trying to keep his emotions in check. "I'm glad you enjoyed yourself," he replied. "You looked amazing out there on the dance floor."
(Y/N) blushed slightly but it’s from the alcohol, her cheeks turning a soft shade of pink. "Thank you," she said, her voice soft and sincere.
In that moment, Steven felt a surge of courage, a desire to tell her how he felt. He almost smacked his own forehead. It wasn't the right time or place. He didn't want to burden her with his own feelings, not when she had so much on her plate already.
Instead, he smiled warmly at her and said, "I'll always be here for you, (Y/N). No matter what happens, you can count on me."
Her eyes softened, and she reached out to give his hand a gentle squeeze. "Thank you, Steven," she said, her voice filled with genuine appreciation. "You're such a good friend."
And with those words, Steven knew that he would continue to be there for (Y/N), even if it meant hiding his own feelings. He would cherish every moment they shared, every laugh, every smile, even if it was just as friends.
Because sometimes, love comes in unexpected ways, and sometimes, the most meaningful relationships are the ones that start as friendships. And Steven was willing to wait, to be patient, and to be the best friend he could be, knowing that (Y/N) was worth every moment of longing and every beat of his heart.

Whispers of Distant Souls - Ch.8 sneak peek (#1)
But unnerving to the teen, who mopped up the water around the kiddie pool were the haunting, cry-like whispers that came from the slider. Casey had to check several times that the slider wasn’t in pain only to see that Leonardo was talking in his sleep.
To Casey, the whispers were so soft and… desperate…? As if they were careful not to scare off whatever was in the slider’s dream, and yet trying so hard to be heard.
Once, he was sitting in the bedroom while Draxum was at work and he saw Leonardo’s hand raise. The slider’s nonprosthetic reached forward with a limp hand until it rose slightly to grab nothing. From where Casey sat, he could see the grip was intense, strong enough for veins to protrude and the slider’s arm to shake.
Even stranger, when Casey asked if Leonardo had a dream, the slider replied, “No, I haven’t had a dream in a long time.”
For now, Casey was going to let the strange phenomenon pass until Leonardo was completely healed.
A little bit of Casey Jr’s pov in the upcoming chapter. Teehee~
Meanwhile, *googles why in the world did I decide to spontaneously write WWC?* There’s too many people to focus on ack

bbc sport writing an article about a non binary football player at the wwc but calling them transgender in the headline is not only just lazy journalism but very clever to incite a whole load of transphobia in the replies. nice.

(OG post for those reading along)
Under a cut for length:
Most of what he'd been fed during his internment was hard tack, the rough, tasteless kind this camp produced en masse for patrols to carry. This – a slice of meat, a baked potato with hand-churned butter and rough-ground salt, the ruddy, brown apple – would probably seem extravagant if he were in a state to appreciate it.
But he wasn't, and she didn't want to distract him with something inconsequential to her goal, no matter how it might make him feel. It had been a long day so far, and he'd already given her a lot to think about. Not enough to appease the camp's council in their way, but enough that Brooke was beginning to piece together what had happened in the first place. It fit in, if not precisely, with what they already knew.
The camp had known that Rhiley's bite was involuntary, but not that Sam had hidden it on purpose. They had known Charlie couldn't take the bite, but not that Dalton had willingly taken it for her. They didn't know what she really was, either. They had known the Emerson pack left the WWC area at the full moon, or just before it, but no one knew why Osker, Dalton, and Charlie had left with them. The best guess had been that Dalton suffered a bite, which explained Charlie, but not Osker. Everyone Jane had so far spoken to had assured her Osker would never have left his father behind willingly, which made no sense because, by all rights, he had.
"Osker?" she asked, soft and low, hoping not to startle him. His eyes flicked up to her, clear and bright. "Did you tell Rhiley about the bite? About Dalton's bite?"
He blinked owlishly, eyes losing focus, but in the good way. "Yeah," he replied, the full belly maybe having brought him back to himself a little. "Rhiley was pissed. He kept saying no one wanted the bite, but I think he was the only one who didn't want it, you know? Like after everyone saw he was still... himself. Who wouldn't want super senses and fast healing and all that strength?" He loosed a brittle laugh. "The world was so unsafe, it seemed... like a blessing, almost."
"It sounds enticing," she agreed, barely a murmur so as not to interrupt.
"Yeah." He sounded far away again. "But, I mean, he got over it. Rhiley did. Charlie… she went to get supplies, and I… I told Rhiley and Sam the truth. Sam said it was worth a shot. She said… she told him he could have a pack. I think that sold Rhiley.”
“And so he agreed?” Brooke asked.
“Of course,” Osker said. “Rhiley always agreed with Sam. She was… she was his whole world.”
“I meant, did he think Dalton should be turned?”
“No one thought that, except Dalton,” Osker said. “It wasn’t the right decision. It was never the right decision. But… it made sense in the moment. Like every bad idea. Sam was about to have a kid, Rhiley was about to turn, Charlie wanted kids she couldn’t have, but Dalton had found a way maybe she could, and it would help Rhiley, which would help Sam. We knew how to hide a werewolf already, and it just… made sense.”

i need some resources or more likely advice. im writing a short story for a uni project and we are supposed to write the main character someone different to us both in outlook and inside. so i want to write about a fae girl that’s dark skinned (and other stuff but that’s the major outside difference) and also i want her to be abrasive, unafraid, unhinged, and angry. But i don’t want to fall into the angry black women stereotypes or black people are savages stereotypes etc. I want to express the rage of someone whose lost a lot and trying to survive but I don’t want that to look trivial. Any advice people dark skinned writers or even the audience? I tried to google but somehow most of the advice i found was from white authors etc. just a little pointing to the right direction helps.
Hey, I'm not black so I’m not the person you should be asking for advice. I can point you in the direction of @writingwithcolor though which I’ve linked posts and tags from! It goes without saying too but dark-skinned black muns are welcome to reply to this ask if they feel comfortable doing so / have the spoons - anon is also on!

Week 44 (2023) updates:
Wrote 3.2k on my skz wolfpack AU and posted the 26th chapter - Rest in the Belly of the Wolf
Wrote 3.1k on a new skz omegaverse AU that may or may not go anywhere, I'm not sure about it yet
Wrote 2.1k on my phan stardew AU - Broke, Gay and New in Town
Replied to 160 comments on AO3
And I journalled every day, including in the wwc journal
Total words: approximately 17.4k
A very high word count but the comment replies always tend to stack up when I'm going through my inbox after having neglected it for a while. My head is still a mess at the moment, and my horse is still in treatment, but words were written for sure. So that's something! It's good.
I had meant to make the phan stardew AU my nanowrimo project, but I'm not sure that's going to happen now with how my November is panning out so far, but I am determined to at least write a bit on it each week.
