Did Harvey just reveal Guillermo’s season 6 ending?
Critics Choice Awards, Deadline. 2024.
S6 speculation below:
…I think the best thing I can take from playing Guillermo De la Cruz is it's never too late to find yourself. It's never too late to be reborn and to reinvent yourself. And there’s no ticking time bomb expiration date to anyone of us to what our dreams and hopes can come true…Well,we start where we left off, and sometimes dreams and aspirations don't turn out the way we want them to...but I think that that's the whole point of rebirth, right? It's like a renaissance. It's happening again. And you take a new direction, new ideas, a new approach. So I'm really excited for the audience to see a new layer to Guillermo.
These are the key words from Harvey’s interview:
1. it's never too late to find yourself
2. Reborn
3. Reinvent
4. Ticking time bomb
5. Expiration date
6. Rebirth
7. Renaissance
8. Happening again
9. New layer
There’s a lot of references to reinvention and rebirth as well as time and hopes and dreams.
We know that Guillermo’s dream of being a vampire ended in season 5 when he learned that he couldn’t go through with killing humans.
There’s a stress of new ideas and directions, which sounds like Guillermo’s ending will not be any of the things he has been already: familiar, bodyguard, slayer, vampire. There’s going to be a new direction for Guillermo that he possibly hasn’t considered.
There’s a huge focus on time and rebirth, Harvey points out this message several times in the interview. He repeats and emphasizes reinvention and renaissance. Almost like being born again.
And the show has accomplished something like what Harvey has mentioned. Something that is technically not a new idea at all. And that’s energy vampires.
Tumblr media
Energy Vampires life expectancies are a ticking time bomb. They have an expiration date. They live only for 100 years. And on that 100th birthday, they expire.
Except, they don’t expire. They give birth to a baby version of themselves and are basically born again or undergo a rebirth.
A storyline that was hinted at by not yet fully explored is the creation of the energy vampire. We know how they die and how their life cycles begin again, but we don’t know how they are made.
Tumblr media
And I believe this is the season we find out. And Colin will help Guillermo by helping him turn.
I revisited some parts of season 5 when I considered this. Namely:
1. Guillermo’s inability to kill
2. That he didn’t want to say goodbye to his mom
3. That he said he still wanted to be a vampire
Becoming an energy vampire solves all three.
Guillermo can still see his mom without the threat of her killing him. He also doesn’t have to feed on humans in the traditional way, namely he doesn’t need to kill. And this way he will live forever, even though he will die every 100 years.
I get how this may not be what we want or expect. I, probably like you, want to see Nandor sink his teeth into Guillermo more than anything. But I don’t think they want to give us that…at least not easily.
I do have a full theory on how we get to have Nandor turn Guillermo. But I will make that into its own separate post.

I've been thinking:
It's been suggested that the Vampiric Council will be involved next season with regards to Guillermo’s actions...and Harvey co-starred with Antonio Banderas recently...
Will we finally get our Antonio cameo?? And how poetic would it be for "Armand" to be the one who decides Guillermo’s fate?

I wonder if Guillermo will be able to use his telekinesis in the future to help him continue being a slayer. Can't touch wooden stakes or holy water? Just use your mind to fling them at your enemies!

Okay I have to know. I’ve been wondering for a while but I have to know!!!! Why does Nandor try so hard to not touch Guillermo? Like there are so many small instances where Nandor will rip his hand away (‘Go Flip Yourself’ episode for example) and most recently with Guillermo placing his hand on the edge of the coffin. Nandor seems to WANT to just lightly Pat his hand but seems to pull away at the last second.
If it wasn’t for a reason they wouldn’t show so many scenes of it. Like WHAT IS IT!? Nandor isn’t opposed to physical contact as seen many times with hugs for example.
I, of course, want it to be some like repression of some kind but I have a feeling it has to do with maintaining the hierarchical bond between Master and Familiar. But I don’t know for sure. Please someone help me.
Please hit me over the head with any thoughts and theories :)

This could easily be a dedicated Nandermo account considering what I usually post/reblog, but I wanted to share my theory on something so far going mostly unmentioned due to the delicious delicious tension we’re getting between Nandor and Guillermo.
Nadja is this season’s smoking gun, a’la last season’s Colin and Laszlo friendship that initially felt somewhat unnatural until we knew the twist.
There is something going on with Nadja- from the brief clip we got of her at the London council, her sudden eardrum-splitting vocal power, the sudden desire to open up a vampire nightclub, and finally embezzling the money from said nightclub for so-far-unknown purposes. I don’t exactly know what that something is, but I believe it could be deeper than her usual chaotic whims and desires she’s displayed so far. I think she was either really bothered by something that happened in London or more upset than she’s letting on at Laszlo’s decision to stay in New York (especially since we know London in general has not been kind to her in the past).
I could be wrong and she’s just in her prime gaslight gatekeep girlboss era but there are definitely some red flags here!

The more I think bout how everything will play out once Nandor finds out about Guillermo, the more I think about the whole "the only reason you're alive is because of me" argument and I'm just so convinced that what will happen is Nandor is gonna ask Guillermo to kill him

About the S6 news —
I'm happy.
Seriously. I remember ages ago them saying Season six would probably be the last. And I'd MUCH rather we are given a proper complete series with a fantastic PLANNED ending...
Than WWDITS overstaying its welcome and watering down its plot for "content" 🙄
It's still sad to know the end is coming.
But I'm just happy it's happened.
The cast are so amazing and deserve to move on to bigger and better.
Another great thing!

don't mind me I'm just going insane over nandor's rings
OK OK OK SO idk WHY but my brain suddenly remembered this post by someguywife and it got me wondering how long has he owned those rings?
disclaimer: 100% looking too deep into this and most likely going insane also for the most part I only focused on old photos in the show since I doubt they would go out of their way to edit the rings onto the paintings for nandor
first I looked through the intro and for the most part the rings are nowhere to be seen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(side note: didn't notice that the last photo was taken on the same night as the new years eve photo :D)
anyway I say for the most part cause of this fucking photo...
Tumblr media
Now I don't know shit about polaroids but there's some numbers at the bottom of these photos.
Tumblr media
This probably means something but after looking it up all the info I could find talks about numbers on the BACK of a photo so that's fuuuuuuuun. I would keep looking into this but I keep going in circles so please if you have any idea what 090111225 4 could mean please let me know It's driving me fucking crazy. I'm assuming it could translate into a date but idk it could mean nothing.
now looking at the outfits in the photo I'd say this is in the 70s maybe? idk I also suck at analyzing clothes so for now this photo is a dead end WHICH SUCKS CAUSE IT'S ONLY GOING TO GO DOWNHILL FROM HERE!
IF this is the 70s then on we have a rough estimate of WHEN he got them but that's just the intro what about in actual episodes.
if we go back to s2e8 collaborations we get a look at nandor in the 70s when he shows us photos of him and is old familiar benjy aND GUYS GUESS WHAT? N O F U C K I N G R I N G S
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the latest date we see on one of those photos is 1974 so around the mid to late 70s he got his ring grea- oh what's that? there's more? greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat...
so going from season 2 to season 3 on s3e3 gail we also get to see some more old photos of our fav cringefail. he says they've been on and off for 30 to 40 years and doing the math that means they met around the early 80s so surely he should have his rings by now right? RIGHT?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
at first no BUT THEN
Tumblr media
DING DING DING I SEE A FUCKING RING FOLKS
Tumblr media
so the next photo shows him celebrating new years with her and she looks to be around the same age SO THAT MEANS HE GOT THE RING IN THE LATE 90- wait the fuck a minute...
Tumblr media
huh... WELP SHIT THIS GOT COMPLICATED!
so looking at the photo booth photos again it's most likely the rings nandor usually wears so you'd think he'd be wearing them since you know HE WEARS THEM ALL THE TIME!? but NOPE he's wearing this red ring instead.
and in the next photo you can't tell at all what ring he's wearing.
Tumblr media
so what does this all mean? well here's my current theory:
at some point when he was first with gail he got his rings (whether it was a gift or something he picked up idk) so around the 80s or 90s but he didn't wear them as often as he does now.
head cannon: after guillermo complimented the rings we see him wear in the show he made sure to wear those specific rings everyday
thanks for watching me go crazy coming to my TED talk

WWDITS SEASON 5 FINALE PREDICTIONS
Someone asked for bonkers predictions for tonight's episodes, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I doubt the curse of Apollo will strike me, but who knows?
- The Morrigan House is a ploy by Simon the Devious. The vamps obliviously blunder through traps meant to kill them, foiling their host's plan.
- The Guide has been intentionally sabotaging the vampires all season because the housemates destroyed her former way of life and the building she was in charge of. She could have forgiven them if they gave her a new purpose as their friend, but since they're ignoring her, she will become their nightmare instead. She previously hexed Nadja, tried to get Guillermo killed and threw shade at Laszlo's book organization to cause him to hyperfixate.
- Guillermo's been kidnapped but Nandor is too stupid to realize it and thinks he returned to Panera Bread. While he's gone, Nandor can't stop seeing Guillermo everwhere. That rat looks like Guillermo. That bird-frog looks like Guillermo...
- The vamps will comb every Panera Bread, and fortunately for them, Guillermo's kidnapper is dumb enough to keep him at a Panera Bread in Little Antipaxos. Nadja finds out from her diner friends.
- When Nandor finally finds out, everyone tries to take the blame for turning Guillermo. Like Spartacus style. Laszlo, Nadja and even Colin because he didn't want to feel left out. They then try to convince Nandor it was a communal turning of a communal familiar so no one needs to kill anyone else today, but Nandor doesn't believe them. Not because what they say is physically impossible on multiple levels, but because ...
- Guillermo cannot fully change because Nandor made a wish that Guillermo would never be a vampire yet will remain with Nandor. This leads to yet another emotionally cathartic fight between the two. Each accuses the other of using them. The fight only defuses when they see clips from the documentary of the other being mushy about them when they're not around.
- Nandor uses his last wish to make Guillermo a full vampire thus Nandor technically turned Guillermo and doesn't have to kill him. This can't be a completely happy ending so it's Nandor's turn to run away from things he'd rather not deal with, leaving Guillermo behind.
- Guillermo is confident he can track Nandor down. He's still a vampire hunter, after all, and Nandor isn't the brightest prey.
- Laszlo creates a couple of Guide-raven hybrids, so the Guide will always have company. Laszlo is happy his science has worked for once. He ignores the TV reports about the increasing number of Guillermo hybrid sightings around New York.
- Nadja is happy that no hex means she's free to be mean again. She and Dollie go on an insult bender.
- Derek used the money Guillermo paid him to bribe other vampires into talking him up, so now he's considered a cool and legendary vampire. Bonus points if a jealous Nandor is there to call him a fucking guy.

What if Guillermo, after being turned, strolls into the house like everything’s normal and he’s wearing the most ridiculous vampire fit and he’s just like “oh hey.” He probably would also start hissing at people if he’s pissed off and he’d forget that he lives with a bunch of vampires and they’d probably be like “aw, that’s cute.”

I'm becoming more and more convinced that Nandor is going to surprise Guillermo with an offer to turn him and that's when it will all come out. Like, the ideal scenario Guillermo has always wanted will be presented to him and he will tell Nandor that he went to someone else.
It plays up on the cheating vibe the show has gone with and would just be the ultimate punch in the gut for everyone. Nandor floating the idea in episode 1 this season as well as how desperate he's been for Guillermo’s attention it seems like the final step he'd take to keep him by his side, even though he has his fears about doing it. Being Shadows, they could really do absolutely anything but my theory is we're headed this way.

WWDITS Jackie Daytona theory
I just realised the reason why Laszlo's Jackie Daytona disguise works for vampires. It's about the the toothpick. It's a mini wooden stake. Why on Earth would a Vampire (who's greatest threat is a wooden stake) put one in their mouth? Why would even Laszlo do it??
He must just be a human man from Tucson, Arizona who just looks a bit like Laszlo

Just sharing since the poster came out today and my theory still holds up...
My theory (based on casting, synopsis, etc) is the new season is gonna start with Guillermo attempting to be turned by Derek. He realizes it didnt fully work but theres def something happening. He cant turn into a bat, doesnt have fangs, but he is craving blood and he doesnt need to wear his glasses anymore. He's going about figuring out what happened, but keeps it to himself. His mom might sense it, he goes to the optometrist about his vision.... the vamps know nothing but over the season laz is noticing weird behavior. Laz is secretly trying to figure it out, and eventually tells guillermo he knows something is up and they end up working together to try and figure it out. Meanwhile, Nandor is getting upset by Guillermos disconnect and sudden friendship with Laz - given last season Laz told Nandor sean was his best friend and now Guillermo seems to be getting closer to Laz and further from Nandor. By the end of the season we find out Guillermo cant be full vamp, but hes actually more powerful as this hybrid vamp/van helsing. Now we have Nandor realizing how much he misses/needs/wants Guillermo, and there's a definite power shift between the two. We end the season with a revelation of feelings. Season 6 for Nandermo will probably be the first half of yearning and then an actual realization of the relationship and we end with them together. 🤞🏼🔮

Since I'm still in WWDITS mode (and probably will be until after the season finale next week), I need to share what I want to happen. Specifically regarding Nandermo. Especially after "Freddie."
Tumblr media
Ok. So. I’ve been thinking forever that I want Guillermo to turn into a vampire before he gets together with Nandor.
There’s several reasons for this, dealing mainly with character motivation and agency: Guillermo serves the vampires as a familiar because he wants to be a vampire. Arguably, this complicates his ability to realize his feelings for Nandor because their relationship is so uneven - Nandor refuses to provide what Guillermo wants and Guillermo’s own desires to be a vampire and be with Nandor are probably all bundled together, especially when he wants Nandor to be the one to do it.
Would Guillermo even stick around if he got what he wanted? Maybe, but that requires him getting what he wants. Then realizing it’s not the only thing that tethers him to Nandor and the rest of the vampires.
Nandor on his side has always had issues respecting Guillermo and treating him as an equal. This is complicated by their work relationship where Guillermo is essentially his employee. Every act of goodwill by Nandor is still hampered by that power imbalance.
Even at the end of s3, Nandor confessing that Guillermo passed “the test” of not going soft and being able to take care of himself... is given the caveat that Nandor still expects Guillermo to take care of him. He still sees him as a familiar, on some level. Even when growing to respect Guillermo more, he still has some lingering feelings of superiority over humans and familiars generally.
And yes, Guillermo could kill him. But Guillermo would also lose everything he wants (being a vampire, being turned by Nandor, being with Nandor) in doing so. He doesn’t want to kill Nandor. He wants to be respected and seen as an equal worthy of being turned into a vampire by Nandor.
So. Then s4 started airing. I kinda thought this idea was impossible to realize, because this season seemed to lean so hard on being “The Nandermo season”: It revolves around Nandor finding love, constantly ship-teasing him and Guillermo, how unhappy Nandor is married to anyone else, etc... And I highly doubt we would get both Guillermo being a vampire AND Nandermo at once - after all, the shows been renewed for 2 more seasons.
Heck, Guillermos desire to be a vampire has almost seemed muted this season compared to before, as the show focuses more on the tension between him and Nandor. And forming the love quadrant of Guillermo currently dating someone else + Nandor looking for love in all the wrong places.
So obviously, I thought we were building to Nandermo this season. Maybe the discussion of Guillermo being a vampire would be benched for the time being.
…Then the Freddie episode happened.
Ouch.
Suddenly, Nandermo being canon seems a bit less likely this season. It brought Nandor’s every character flaw kicking and screaming into focus, especially how he struggles to respect others agency AND treat Guillermo well. How even when he THINKS he’s treating him well, he still crosses every common sense boundary and ruins his other relationships out of his own misplaced jealousy.
So that leaves a bit more potential for my hope of Guillermo being turned first. Maybe even this season finale.
Here’s a scenario that I’ve been daydreaming about for months now that suddenly feels much more likely. Mind you, I would be surprised if this is exactly what happens, but it’s something I would absolutely love as a “what if” and I think fits where both of their characters are.
So. The theme for this season is still “Nandor’s search for love”, and that will probably be resolved in some way in the season finale. Probably not two-sided canon Nandermo at this point, but quite likely Nandor realizing he’s in love with Guillermo and maybe even making some sort of romantic confession.
So what if... We go in to the finale THINKING it’s time for Nandermo to become canon. We’re upset about what Nandor did to Marwa and Freddie, but still think that’s where this season is headed.
And at first, it follows the predictable story beats. Nandor realizes he’s in love, confesses to Guillermo, admits that everything he’s done up until now has been because he wants Guillermo but hasn’t been able to admit it to himself. Maybe even peppering in some condescending comment that it’s awkward to be in love with a familiar. I mean geez. But now, he says, Guillermo can get “everything he’s always wanted” - (being self-centered, Nandor assumed he himself is what Guillermo wants. If he loves Guillermo, Guillermo must love him back, right?)
Nandor pulls Guillermo in for an embrace. It’s not quite clear how Guillermo feels. Maybe he looks hesitantly happy, maybe he looks torn, confused, or maybe we don’t see his expression at all. Then Guillermo finally hugs him back, and it seems like all is well.
And Guillermo is happy, realizing that he can finally get what he wants. For a moment, he forgets his anger towards Nandor about Freddie and everything that happened. This is Nandor’s chance to make amends. Then, paralleling the first episode of the show, Guillermo leans so his neck is exposed and says something like “I’m ready, Nandor.” Because of course, if Nandor really loves him, he’ll turn him into a vampire, right?
...Right?
Then Nandor says back: “Ready for what?”
“For you to turn me into a vampire, of course.”
Nandor pulls back. He’s confused, and maybe a little hurt that Guillermo would immediately bring this up after the love confession. Is this all Guillermo’s wanted all along? Does he even love Nandor? Nandor’s unnerved and says something like “Ah… we can talk about that later, don’t you think? The important thing is that we’re together. Besides, I still need my familiar to take care of me. Come here, Guillermo.” And pulls him into another embrace.
This time, we do see Guillermo’s expression. We see as it shifts from excitement to confusion to anger - revealing the suppressed anger for everything that happened. For what Nandor did to him and Freddie. How after everything, Nandor is STILL holding this over his head, dangling the vampirism carrot and expecting Guillermo to go along with whatever he says. He still expects to have the power, and that Guillermo will just obey and be like Marwa, kind and sweet and a doll he can mold.
Then Guillermo hugs back anyway. Tight. Painfully tight. Nandor starts to pull away, but Guillermo holds him firmly, and Nandor can’t get out of the embrace.
Then Nandor feels something pointy at his back. Right between his shoulderblades, aimed at his heart. A stake is gently balanced against his skin, just barely not puncturing it. And Guillermo whispers darkly: “Turn. Me. Right. Now.”
And Nandor, realizing the seriousness of the threat, does. Not happily. It’s not the act of love or tenderness you would expect - it’s bitter and tinged with justified anger on Guillermo’s side and disappointment and hurt on Nandor’s side. And the season ends with Guillermo leaving the house, a vampire at last, but fed up and intending not to come back.
In being disrespectful, callous, selfish, and disregarding others wishes and agency, Nandor got what he was always secretly afraid of: Guillermo leaving him as soon as he got what he wanted.
And we, the audience, realizes that this is how it had to happen. Neither of them were ready to be together. Maybe just becoming a vampire was always what Guillermo wanted the most. Maybe if Nandor had been kinder, more respectful to Guillermo and not fucked with peoples lives, he could’ve gotten his beloved and all would be well. But Nandor just couldn’t change until he lost everything.
Guillermo, on his side, is not as happy as you would expect. He’s totally justified in leaving, it seems like a straightforward “good for her!” moment… but defiant and furious as he may be, and despite finally being a vampire, there’s tears in his eyes. He didn’t want it to be like this. He wanted Nandor to fucking learn and respect people and be a better person. But he didn’t. And now he’s lost it all, just like Guillermo is realizing that being a vampire is not enough to make him happy. That he really does love Nandor. But he has to leave anyway.
Fade to black. Tune in to s5 to see if they’ll work it out.
But now, Nandor HAS to respect Guillermo as an equal, as a vampire. Not only because he's able to kill him (he already was), but because now, there's no obvious reason for Guillermo to stay with him. So he has to earn it. And in turn, Guillermo has to confront that there’s more he wants out in life than being a vampire, for immortality is bitter and cruel if you have to spend it alone.

So—haven't watched finale yet
BUT theory from spoilers I've seen...
Nandor has known for ages Guillermo isn't suited for vamperism. It explains why he has never allowed for more in their relationship. If this is the status quo, Nandor will live on and will either become Guillermo's carer—or, more likely, will "allow" Guillermo to leave him once a better suited paramour arrives (which Freddy was clearly not).
But you can't help your feelings.
Nandor's existential crisis makes EVEN MORE sense within the context that he has ALL THIS POWER AND LIFE...and he cannot grasp the ONE THING he truly wants.
Sunrise. Sunset. Life goes on. So does he.
Nothing changes. He is alone.
He does try to find something permanent—if not for his own need for company, to show Guillermo that he will be okay without him. (To free Guillermo of his honourable duty of serving him).
But he self destructs every chance—if he even took it seriously to begin with.
With the cult, we see Nandor desperately trying to seek the other option: To be human again. He deludes himself and allows himself to be manipulated. But even then, it fails. Those who care about him also inadvertently continue the cycle.
Nothing changes. Nothing lasts. But him.
I suspect Nandor has built in a fail safe.
He hasn't used his last wish. Only one—to ensure he CAN'T use it. Except...
This season a few things have become clear.
1) Laszlo is desperate to be a father, properly
2) Nadja is ready for her sunset years
3) Nandor is waiting for purpose
4) Guillermo is learning what he wants
5) Even Colin is restless
They are all ready to unfreeze time and be human again. Together. An actual family.
From the very beginning, the series ending with them all becoming human has been debated. But it makes sense, if given the power, Nandor would protect that option as a contingency plan if nothing else.
Becoming human would mean Nadja can be properly involved in her culture again, Laszlo can have his freedom in the sun and become a parent with Nadja, Colin as a human would be destructive in the best way, and Nandor and Guillermo can both finally have their true needs and wants met: An equal, supportive romantic relationship.
But Nandor can't make this decision for everyone. He needs them to come to the realisation this is what they want too...
With Laszlo's trip in the sun, Nadja contemplating death and family, Guillermo now rejecting vamperism, and even Colin's becoming more involved in human life...
We're about a season away from this moment.
