@wyrmtaill asked:
Tsolmon is given a piece of rocksalt as a sign of beginning friendship...
he really doesn't understand what is going on in ishgard most of the time. if people at least disparaged him for valid reasons, he'd get it. kind of. he'd at least be more forgiving of it, but no, it's heretic and dragonborn getting sneered at him at the nicer of the pejoratives. at least one of the royal(?) guardsmen is inclined to hear him out.
and to give him a rock, apparently. he recognizes salt when he's handed it, and it seems to be noteworthy enough a gesture. then the question rises if he's supposed to do something with it other than the usual things one does with salt (season). "'tis for me? thank you, eh, ser. am i supposed to do something specific with it, or is it fine to use for preserving game...?" he doesn't want to do something newly culturally embarrassing, after all.

Year 3
Marauders
                                          James
James and Sirius took Remus’ blow-up over the idea that they had decided to become animagus, as a sort of joke between them. Remus would catch these looks and give them glares, in classes, in hallways whenever he could tell they were having a eye to eye conversation behind his back. Peter, however, had been actually shocked at Remus’ reaction and had even suggested that maybe they scrap that idea.
James and Sirius’ returning looks had shut Peter up so that he didn’t mention it again.
It was one thing to think of it. It was entirely another that they had actually discovered how to do it.
Especially when Professor McGonagall caught sight of the Animagus: An Animal Guide to Alteration.
“What is this, Potter.”
“Extra study, Professor,” James said without missing a beat.
But McGonagall stopped shortly, suddenly snapping her lazy inquisition to stare at him with peering eyes.
Something struck there, something James couldn’t identify, a light, but he finally breathed more easily when she nodded, and moved on, continuing on with her lesson.
A month of holding those damn  mandrake leaves in their mouths would have ended anyone, except for Sirius Black and James Potter.
But it was when it finally came time to try the transformation that Remus tried to put his foot down, tried to tell them that he’d rather be on his own than have them doing something illegal and get thrown in Azskaban.
But James had seen the hope in Remus’ eyes, not that would listen to him, but that they wouldn’t.
And Sirius said, “Azskaban doesn’t scare me, Remus.”
James caught Remus’ downcast eyes, “We’d do anything for you, Remus,” he said slowly, “You’re our mate. You understand?”
And they did, somehow they all did. They all understood.
Or at least that’s what James thought in that moment, looking at all three of his closest friends in the world and he felt something visceral in that moment, looking at Remus, Sirius, and Peter. He understood in that moment something that he would know in his heart for years to come, something that he couldn’t yet articulate into words, but something that was there all the same.
“What about Puff for your tail,” said Sirius leaning into the table a big grin on his face.
James rolled his eyes, “that’s terrible. Honestly, haven’t you got a heart.”
Sirius grabbed at his chest, looking suddenly concerned. “You know, I’m not sure if I do,” he said, “Doesn’t that mean I’m invincible?”
“You wish,” Peter said quickly, repeating the phrase that he had heard them say many times.
“Personally I like Chip for you,” Remus said, his nose peeking out from behind his book.
“You wouldn’t dare,” Sirius look affronted.
“Moony!” James said suddenly, “that’s what we’ll call you, Remus.”
“Oh, how original,” Remus rolled his eyes.
“I like it,” Sirius said, “that’s two votes, Peter,” Sirius raised Peter’s hand for him, “see that, you’re outvoted, Remus, or rather, Moony.”
“What about Pete? Wyrmtail, but spelled with a y like a dragon,” Remus offered.
“Peter’s may be a Gryffindor, but he’s no dragon,” Sirius said matter-of-factly, wrapping an arm around Peter’s shoulder. “We’d better just spell it Wormtail with an ‘o.’”
“We still have to decide on your name, Sirius,” James said. “How bout’ Rex, I heard someone name their dog that.”
Sirius gagged.
“Blaze,” Remus quipped.
“Waggstail?” Peter added.
“Fuzzball.”
“Puppy Dog Eyes.”
“Fluffy Paws.”
“Padfoot.”
Sirius stopped, looking at Remus, “That’s not half bad…Moony.”
Remus hid his smile behind the book.
“And what do we call, James? He said.
“Prongs,” Sirius inserted, “for the antlers,” he mimicked two pitchforks coming out of the sides of his head with his fingers.
“I like it,” James grinned, “but the real question is, what do we call out group altogether?”
A sharp voice, that belonged to none other than Minerva McGonagall interjected, approaching them, the library around them suddenly going quiet with her call.
“And what exactly are you marauders up to?”

Wyrmtail
Only found in Dustwallow Marsh, this plant is rumored to have been planted by the Black Dragonflight that surrounded Onyxia’s lair in the south. To spot wyrmtail look for thick green vines wrapped around a faintly glowing green core that pulsates slightly - similar to a heartbeat. This pulsing is likely intended to distract passersby, making them easier prey for the black whelplings and others that still inhabit the area of the swamp it grows in.
An invasive species, the native environment of this plant is unknown. When it was brought there it grew wild and in great quantities, pushing back other native flora. Time and necessity have changed that, making wyrmtail harder to find than it once was.
It has a faint magical aura and, when properly picked and prepared, can be used to ease pain and heal minor wounds. Due to this it has become prized by residents of the marsh. After the fall of Theramore it gained even more popularity with some of the remaining Alliance aligned holdouts due to the lack of easily accessible supplies.
Wyrmtail was introduced in a course of tragic and unfortunate events and this plant has come to hold such meaning now. Though practical people will accept offerings of it for the uses it has, to give it as a gift in a floral arrangement is a spiteful gesture. This is a quick way to earn the ire of the one you give it to as such a gesture implies you find them tragic, their presence an unfortunate burden you are struggling to make the best of despite your distaste for them.
