The one where... Mulder and Scully investigate a creepy snake church.

Best: Snakes are f**king creepy already but that snake birth scene was - wow, it’s something 🙈

Worst: The not very well CGI’d snake coming out of the reverend’s mouth at the end really wasn’t necessary. And they’ve already done a snake/devil episode (2x14 Die Hand Die Verletzt) that’s better.

Despite Mulder getting attacked at the end and a little dialogue about being tested there’s no real sense that this case affects Mulder or Scully personally. It might have been interesting for Scully to be struggling with her faith in the aftermath of Orison given how recently that occurred, and for her to feel she was being tested. But who knows, in that case I might have just been annoyed that they were making another religious episode all about Scully!

Love a hospital scene where she sits on his bed and grins with relief and happiness that he’s ok 🥰

7x09. “Signs and Wonders” - X-Files Rewatch

Mulder’s smiley and gazing at Scully in their office.

Why isn’t Mulder in a suit and tie? His shirt is nice but pretty casual.

Mulder’s snake handling joke and Scully’s look at him for it. 😉

They’ve mostly resolved their conflict w/r to Scully’s faith, but he’s not going to change completely. He’s less of an asshole about it, but he’s still going to question her on her faith just as she questions him on everything else.
