Trouble
Logan Howlett x Reader
Summary: You were on the run; trying to lay low and out of trouble until you find a bar and meet a certain someone in a cage fight.
Word Count: 1.5k
Tumblr media
People gathered around the cage fight that was about to begin.
You watched as people were passing money back and forth, placing bets on the two men standing across from each other.
One of the men brought a cigar up to his lips, taking in a long breathe before blowing smoke down towards the ground.
He barely acknowledged the man standing across from him; despite the fact that he was almost twice the size of him and clearly itching for a fight.
The man finished off the cigar before flicking it onto the ground. As he looked up, his eyes locked with yours for a short moment.
You felt your chest tighten as you quickly looked down, not wanting to be acknowledged by him or anyone in this place.
When you looked up the fight had already started. You watching the other man land a punch to his face, causing you to flinch from how hard that hit was.
The man didn’t move an inch, barely reacting to such an intense blow.
He let out a grunt, his bottom teeth revealing themselves and he stepped forward.
His arm swung so quickly you almost missed it before his fast smashed into the cheek of the other man.
It took only a few seconds for the man to hit the floor; already knocked out from the hit.
The screams and shouts from around the cage filled the room and the ref announced the winner.
You turned around and walked over to the bar instead, noticing the bartender cleaning glasses in preparation for the crowd to come over and start drinking.
“What can I get ya?” He asked, barely looking up at you as you took a seat to in the corner.
“Oh nothing for me, thanks” you replied quickly, knowing you had no money to afford even a glass of a beer.
People started to gather around you, ordering drinks left and right as they complained about the fight.
You heard men grumbling over the fact that this man keeps winning every fight.
The man from the cage walked through them, ignoring their complaints before taking a seat next to you.
Your heart rate picked up as soon as he sat down, wishing he would’ve sat somewhere else instead.
He glanced over at you, giving you a small smile as though he sensed your anxiety.
You didn’t even get a chance to smile back before he took a swig of his whiskey and looked across the bar instead.
“That was fucking bullshit out there! I know you’re one of them” a man yelled in disgust, shoving the man next to you.
He continued to ignore him and drink his whiskey before the man knocked it out of his hand, the glass shattering on the ground in front of you.
You were already getting up, prepared to leave quickly.
“Good choice getting away from this.. mutant” the man remarked before spitting on the ground in front of the mutant.
You scoffed at the man, uninterested in any opinion that came out of his mouth.
The man began to step towards you, clearly unhappy with your reaction.
He barely took a step towards you before the mutant stood up, blocking his way and shooting him a nasty glare.
“Try and make me” the mutant replied, raising his brows in an attempt to provoke him.
The man raised his hands before the mutant grabbed his shirt, pushing him back against the wooden pillar behind him.
His other arm raised as his fist lined up to the man’s neck, three claws slowly coming out of his knuckles and grazing the man’s neck.
You breath lodged in your throat as you took a step back.
“Hey! You take that shit outside!” The bartender yelled, as if he has dealt this this many times before.
The mutant didn’t look back before slowly retracting his claws, giving the man a shove before fixed his jacket and stepped back.
The man snarled at him as he began to walk away, clearly wanted to say something else.
The mutant turned around to look over at you. “You alright?” He asked, his voice was low and gentle; not at all what you had expected after witnessing all of that.
You nodded quickly before reaching down to grab your bag, wanting to quickly get out of here.
Although you were getting so sick of running, it was clear to you that this was not the place to lay low.
You watched the mutant let out a sigh, worrying that he had scared you.
A feeling of regret came over you as you wished you didn’t look so keen to get away from him.
You reached out gently to touch his shoulder and give him a thankful smile.
For only a split moment, it seemed like his eyes lit up at you before he watched you walked out the door.
The cold air hit you immediately, urging you to turn back inside for some damn warmth.
Your teeth chattered as you took your first step forward, ready to walk down the road and find the next place you could stay at for a while.
As you neared the road you heart footsteps approaching you from behind.
You quickly turned around to see the man that was going after the mutant earlier.
“Where do you think you’re going, sweetheart?” He slurred, the alcohol on his breath lingering in the air as he spoke.
You immediately took a step back, rolling your eyes at him.
“Piss off” you muttered, ready to turn around before he grabbed your shoulder; his fingers pressing into your skin.
“I suggest you take your hand off her” the mutant growled, walking up behind the man in front of you.
The mutant grabbed the man’s shoulder and pulled him, hauling his body onto the ground.
The man landed on his back, letting out a grunt as he hit the floor.
The mutants claws revealed themselves from his knuckles and he stared down, warning the man to back off.
The man stood to his feet slowly, looking over at you as if you were the one who ticked him off.
He let out a huff before turning around, realising there was no chance he was winning against this mutant. He shot a glare at the mutant, wishing he could take him on in some attempt to gain back his pride.
You watched the man walk into the bar before you looked up at the mutant, feeling grateful that he had intervened.
“Thank you for that” you said quietly, still feeling unnerved by everything that was going on.
His claws drew back into his knuckles before he looked over at you, giving you a nod.
“I’m Logan” he shared, waiting for you to introduce yourself.
“Uh, I’m Y/N” you replied softly, finding it difficult to look him in the eyes.
“Where are ya headin?” He asked.
“Honestly… I have no idea” you sighed.
He looked at your curiously, almost as though he was trying to read your mind.
There was no chance you were going to tell him you were on the run. You didn’t need anyone else involved in your shit.
“I can give you a ride to the next town if you need” he offered; his voice being gentle whenever he spoke to you.
He watched your face as you hesitated, a part of you wanted to say ‘yes’ although you hadn’t trusted a single person in such a long time.
“How far is it?” You asked, still debating on what you were going to do.
“A few hours, give or take” he answered quickly.
You let out a long breath; you really didn’t have any chance walking if that was the case. It was going with Logan, or freezing to death on the side of the ride.
“..okay” you replied softly, your eyes drifting down to the ground.
He gestured for you to follow as he walked over to his truck, opening the side door for you to get in.
You have him and quick thank you before lifting you back into the passenger seat and getting in.
He began driving down the road for what felt like ages before you decided to speak.
“Seriously thank you for doing this” you announced, wanting to show him your gratitude.
He responded with a smile, his eyes softening as he glanced over at you and then back toward the road.
“Does it hurt? When they come out” you asked curiously, gesturing towards his knuckles and the claws that came out.
“Every time” he replied, flexing his hands for a short moment as he kept his eyes on the road.
“Sorry for all the shit you must deal with” you said. “I guess a lot of people don’t like you guys” you added, feeling sorry for him.
“They ain’t all bad” he replied, giving you a grin.
You let out a chuckle as you looked down at your hands, twiddling your thumbs.
You felt oddly connected to him already; safer than you had felt in months. Maybe you’d stick with him a little longer.

You tried to stop yourself from looking, but your curiosity and anxiety kept forcing your eyes back to them. The tightness in your chest was almost unbearable as you saw Jean giggle at Logan's comment. Logan had a familiar fond smile on his face as he looked at her.
No matter how many times the others tried to convince you that Logan was over Jean, and that Jean held no feelings for him, you couldn't help but doubt it.
Jean was everything you weren't, and you doubted that Logan ever saw anything as appealing in you, as he did in Jean. You never saw him look at you the way he looked at her.
Tearing your eyes away from them, you forced yourself to walk away, to go somewhere else. You needed to get him out of your mind. You were tired of the pain you were causing yourself every time you thought of him. You hated that you allowed your fondness for Logan to evolve from feelings of friendship, to a desire for more.
He made you laugh, and smile more than any other. He made you feel safe, and brought out your strengths when you doubted yourself. He was a great and loyal friend, but you wanted more. You wanted what you could not have, and it hurt more every day.
You were unaware of Ororo's eyes on you as you made your way up to your room. She frowned as she saw how clearly upset you were about something.
As you got to your room, you felt a wave of emotion wash over you. Letting out a long breath you sat on the edge of your bed and looked out the window. You wouldn't cry. You refused. This was your own fault, and you would hold it, let it teach you a lesson.
Hearing a light knock on your door, you felt uneasy. With your luck that wold be Logan or Jean. Neither of which you wanted to see right now. You stayed quiet, and still.
"Y/n? It's Ororo."
You let out a breath of relief as you heard her voice. Standing, you walked to the door, and slowly pulled it open, meeting her concerned gaze.
She smiled softly at you. "Are you okay? You seemed pretty upset."
Letting her enter the room, you closed the door behind her, wondering if you should tell her. Looking over at her, you saw her watching you patiently.
Shaking your head, you walked back towards the window. "It's stupid."
"If it made you upset, it's not stupid. Come on Y/n, I'm your friend, talk to me."
Sighing you sat back on your bed, waiting for her to sit beside you. You spoke cautiously, with a hint of shame. "I just saw Logan and Jean together, talking and laughing and I just...let it get to me. And I know that your just gonna say there is nothing between them, and that they are just friends. But the fact is, that there was something between them. At least from Logan's side. And I don't think that Logan could ever feel that way for me. Not like he did for her. And I hate that I have these feelings, and I can't make them go away."
Reaching over, she set her hands over yours. "There is nothing wrong with feeling Y/n. Even if it hurts. I wish I could tell you that you're wrong, but I can't. I don't know if Logan see's you like you want. I know that he adores you, that he appreciates your friendship and that he would never purposefully hurt you, but I also know that might not be enough."
You nodded your head softly. "Sometimes I wish he didn't think about me at all. That I was nothing to him. That would make it easier to accept. But he treats me so kindly, and I know he cares for me, but it's hard knowing I feel more than he does." Looking down at your feet, you let out a long breath.
----
Logan walked towards your room, hoping he would find you there. He had expected you to be in the library or sitting room, but found you in neither. And no one seemed to know where you were. He had begun feeling an odd sense of restlessness the longer he went without seeing you.
He slowed in step as he heard your voice from inside. Were you with someone? In your room, door closed? He felt jealousy clench at his chest, as he listened closer. He probably shouldn't, he was invading your privacy, but he couldn't help himself.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Ororo asked.
Logan felt relief wash over him, it was just Storm. Deciding he should leave, he began to turn away when your voice met his ears and he stopped.
"Is there any chance you can send me somewhere else?"
Logan felt his heart palpitate, as anxiety filled his chest. You wanted to leave the school? Why? What was happening?
"You think leaving would help?"
He heard you sigh. "I don't know, maybe? I mean, I wish I could get out of my own head about it. But I just can't stop doubting myself. These stupid thoughts plague me every day, every time I see him. I can't stop thinking, what is it about me that isn’t good enough?"
Logan felt his chest tighten. Who were you talking about? Had you been with someone and he didn't know it? Did you break up with them? No, it sounded more like they hurt you. Why hadn't you told him? He felt a mix of anger and jealously wash over him.
"If that's what you really want, I can talk to the Professor. Maybe he can send you somewhere for a while."
"Thanks Ororo."
Logan turned to leave, his heart hammering in his chest. He couldn't just let you leave. Why couldn't the bastard that hurt you leave? Who was it? He knew most of the teachers, but never really recalled seeing you with one more often than the others.
He'd have to talk to you. Convince you to stay. He couldn't imagine this place without you, he would hate it. You made it so much better. You were the heart of this place to him, you made it feel more like home for him. He couldn't let you leave.
-------------
Staring out at the school grounds as the light of the full moon cascaded over the trees, you wondered if you really should leave. This place as your home, you loved it. But you hated that most of your days were spent with an ache in your heart.
Hearing a soft knock behind you, you turned to see Logan leaning in the doorway, watching you. You felt your chest tighten.
"Hey." He said softly.
"Hi." You responded with a soft smile before you looked back out at the campus grounds.
Logan walked over to you, and leaned on the balcony beside you. "I've been looking for you."
Your heart palpitated 'Why?' You glanced over at him "Oh yeah?"
"I wanted to see if you were alright."
You felt a pang in your chest. Finally looking over at him, you feigned confusion. "Why wouldn't I be alright?"
Logan smiled softly at you, "I was looking for you earlier today too, and I went to your room to see if you were there. And...I overheard your conversation with Storm."
You felt anxiety cascade through your chest as you tried to keep your face from showing your shock. Before you could speak, Logan continued.
"Look, I don't know what jack-ass hurt you, but there is no reason you should let him chase you away. This is your home and you can't leave. Not because of anyone."
A sense of realization washed over you as you figured out he had only heard the end of your conversation with Ororo. He had no idea the guy you had been talking about was him.
"Logan-"
"I know you are going to try and make excuses, but listen to me." He faced you "You are the best part of this place, if anyone should leave it's him."
Feeling a bit overwhelmed, you let out a laugh as you ran your hands over your face. "Logan-" you shook your head "I was talking about you."
You saw a mixture of confusion and realization cross his face. You knew you couldn't stop now, so you started to explain to him what you had been holding back.
You took in a deep breath before you started. "My feelings for you changed months ago Logan. But I can't keep ignoring them, and pushing them aside. Especially when I have to see you and Jean every day. Living with the uncertainty of how you feel about her. And knowing that you can never feel the same way about me. Knowing that I can never be what you want. "
Logan felt an almost overwhelming mix of guilt, confusion and excitement as he listening to you speak. He never thought that you felt anything for him, not like he felt for you.
"This is my home, but I can't keep feeling like this. So maybe it's best if I leave for a while, just so I can get over this-"
You were cut off as Logan suddenly stepped forward and grabbed you, pulling you against his chest as he kissed you. Your mind went blank as you felt shock wash over you. By the time you fully grasped what happened, Logan pulled away, staring down at you.
"I'm sorry." He said softly. "All this time I had no idea that you felt anything for me, or that you thought I still had feelings for Jean. But I don't, I promise I don't. All feelings I've had recently have been for you, and no one else."
You opened your mouth to speak, but struggling to find words. "I- for me?"
He nodded softly as he gently caressed your face. "I wanted to tell you, to show you. But I didn't know if I should. I was afraid it would ruin our friendship. But if I had known I was causing you pain, I would have told you, I'm sorry that I hurt you so much you thought you had to leave."
You shook your head. "It's not your fault Logan, I know you never would have hurt me on purpose." You paused, before speaking softly with a hint of uncertainty. "So, you don't have feelings for Jean?"
He shook his head softly. "I haven't since I got to know you. Me and Jean are just friends, nothing more. I don't want anyone but you. If you'll have me that is."
A smile spread slowly across your face and you nodded lightly, "I'll have you."
He grinned down at you as he brought his hands to your hips, pulling you closer to him. As your chest pressed against him, his lips met yours. You felt a great sense of excitement and relief flow through you as you wrapped your arms around his neck.

One - The Man Who Can Control Metal

Battle of the Mind and Heart
Part 2
Tags - just send me an ask to be added @aintinacage
I am not sure how to really ever start the first chapter of my books. I hope I can figure out the dynamic. I want these two to go in at some point. If you have any tips on how that should go, dm me 👍
Germany, Poland 1944
Sliding on my black combat boots I pushed my hair out of my face. Standing up front the desk chair I was sitting in I could hear my father's footsteps coming closer down the hallway. I tied my hair up in a ponytail hearing the office door finally open revealing my father. He had dark brown hair and bright green eyes. Yet I resemble my mother overall with bright blue eyes and blonde hair. “Addison, you're coming to work with me today.”
“Alright whatever for?” I asked knowing that he normally kept me out of his work. Always saying it would be far too much for me to handle.
He fixed the top part of his jacket, sending me a half smirking yet proud smile. “There's someone very interested I'd like you to meet.” He headed out the door immediately and I was quick to follow his heels, he never cared for me if I was dragging along behind him.
We moved up and down some stairs then through a couple of different rooms until we entered an office and he shut the door behind me. He sat down in the chair behind the desk and I just decided to lean against the side before the door opened once more. Two soldiers enter, leading a young boy that looks to be my age of fourteen years old. “What is going on, father?”
“This boy was supposed to be going to the camps until he had a disagreement with some of the men. He bent a metal fence almost in half. He's not ordinary, my dear daughter.” My father almost sounded proud of such a feet.
Shifting my gaze to the young boy he avoided my gaze and watched the floor. “What's your name?”
“Erik…Erik Lehnsherr.” He paused in his answer. “I want to see my mother.”
Glancing over my shoulder I shiver asking the question. “Where's his mother?”
“That needn't be your concern, daughter. She is where she is supposed to be and he will see her again once he shows me what he can do.” My father picked up a bell out of the desk and the guards opened the door revealing a woman who Erik ran to, meaning it must be his mother. My father took out a handgun explaining. “Here’s what we’re going to do. I’m going to count to three…and you’re going to move the coin. You don’t move the coin, I pull the trigger.”
“Dad, no. You can’t!” I attempted to grab the gun from him but he had the two guards by the door grab me and pin me down on my knees and just watch. “One….two….three.”
Erik couldn’t move the coin and I cried out watching his mother get shot. Yet the young boy didn’t dare turn around before he bent the bell and the metal cabinet. Throwing my elbow backwards into one of the guards they tried to grab me but at the same time he managed to crush the metal helmets on their heads until they died beside his mother. “Erik…” I breathe put covering my face until all the metal lab objects stopped getting thrown around above my head.
Uncovering my eyes I gasped eyeing his mother's dead body on the floor. He started crying in anger with my father apalding him. “Outstanding, Erik. So we unlock your gift with anger.” He placed the coin in his hand and headed for the door.
“How could you do that to him!” Rushing forward I grabbed my father's arm and he winced and I saw my hand turn red. Quickly drawing my hand backwards I saw it disappear before he could see I had some power of my own. As far as he knew I was just human like my mother.
My father Sebastian turned around to face me. “He's not like everyone else and I wish to see what he can truly do.” He left the office without saying another word to me or to the boy behind me.
“Erik, I….I'm sorry.” I noticed that he hasn't moved from where he stood and I did consider touching his shoulder. Yet decided no seeing the state he was in now.
He slowly glanced at me sniffing through tears. “You’re a monster, Addison!” I didn’t like the way he said my name for the first time which such anger and hate. Wrapping my arms around myself I left the room figuring it would be hard to gain any trust with him now.
Years later
Things haven't gotten any better between Erik and I. My father has kept me out of the supposed research he calls it. Yet I found out the truth a little while ago…about two years after we met. It was the middle of the night as I made my way down to the sort of bunker room they were keeping Erik in. It had no metal seeing as he could escape. Shutting the door behind me he sat up slightly in the bed but scoffed the second he saw it was me. “What are you doing here!”
“I brought you some extra food from my dinner if you want it.” Reaching inside my jacket I tossed him a zip lock bag that had some biscuits and a half slice of meat seeing that they didn't feed him well.
He caught the bag looking me in the eye briefly. “Why are you being nice to me?”
“Because I'm not like my father, Erik.” I responded with my hands inside my pockets.
The young mutant boy sat in silence just eating the food that I had given him. Moving downward I sat across from him with my hands laying in my lap. I wasn’t sure what to say to him. I knew that he didn’t trust me. “What is the real reason you’re talking to me?”
“Because I heard that they're shutting down everything. The camps, the experiments, everything. My father is packing to get out of here and not get executed. But I thought you should know that I’m here to help you get out of here.” Glancing over my shoulder I watched the door behind us counting down the minutes, figuring if my father found out where I was I would never see Erik again.
Erik stared at me finishing his food before he rolled up the sleeve of his shirt. I noticed the numbers that had been marked onto his left forearm and it made me feel guilty that he was suffering. “You’re really willing to help me, I still don’t understand why.”
“Come with me and you’ll see that I’m someone you can trust.” Raising myself to my feet offering him my hand.
He hesitantly placed his hand in mine asking one more question before I helped him sneak out before we could get caught. “What am I supposed to call you, Shaw girl?”
“Addison is too formal. Call me Addi.”
He got to his feet heading for the door twisting the doorknob and we both saw some flashing lights going down the hallway. He quickly turned his attention to me. “So what exactly is the plan now?”
“How about this? Since I am helping you get out of here then you agree to never hurt or try to kill me.” I suggested shrugging my shoulders.
Erik actually agreed to my shock and awe. “Fine, Shaw girl. But you'll help me find the ones who hurt me.” I squeezed his hand that was still looped with his saying that I agreed in silence before began running and haven't stopped since then.
Shutting the hotel room door behind me with my foot I didn’t hear the tv or anything on in which could only mean that Erik had either left or was just plotting in silence. Sliding my boots off of my feet at the door I paused in the doorway. “How long have you been staring at that wall?”
“That’s not your concern.” He grumbled moving the coin from my father between his fingers, never looking away from the board with pinned maps and pictures leading up to my father’s picture.
Crossing my arms over my chest I huffed. “Maybe it is my business considering the only time you leave is to kill some other Nazi members. So forgive me for being concerned.”
“I didn’t ask you to free me that night, Addison.” He scoffed using my full name knowing I didn’t care for it.
Waving my index finger at him I stepped away from the wall and to the foot of the bed. “I told you to not call me that, Lehnsherr!”
“Addison.” He just kept going until I crawled up onto the bed putting my hands on either side of his head glaring at the man in front of me.
The entire time he just kept moving the coin until I managed to snatch it from him. My freehand landed down on his thigh and he winced where I realized what I was doing and drew my hand back. “Sorry that I might actually care about you after what happened to your family. If you’re gonna hate me for the rest of our lives I guess I’ll just go!”
“Addison….” Erik called for me but I was already around the corner to my bedroom and slammed the door behind me. He noticed the coin had been dropped on the floor and so he slowly used his power, levitating it once more and then launching it right to my father’s forehead.
Once the door was shut I flopped down on my bed screaming into my pillow. A few minutes after that I heard the desk lamp move and a few markers and some of my shoes go flying around…everything had some tiny bit of metal inside them. “Urgh! Why did I have to touch him.” I scolded myself under my breath in frustration.
Sitting upright on the foot of the bed I put my face in my hands. “At some point he'll figure it out.” Raising my right hand I made the pen start to levitate in the air since I still had Erik's power running from my veins for a short time. Laying my head back on the pillow I just stared at the ceiling.
My father couldn't know the truth that I had my own mutation. Because if he knew he would have done everything that he did to Erik on his own daughter. So if them other mutant I was living with needed to hate me then I'd accept it. Since I didn't feel like I could be myself…my true self and that maybe I was broken since I could only take power from others and I didn't have my own abilities.
Comments really appreciated ❤️
The metal controlling mutant sat in silence and finally moved his gaze to my locked door. He felt slightly guilty and confused for treating you badly over the years but he couldn’t see past what he knew. That your father was the man who ruined his life…even though you decided to help him he wouldn’t let his heart change the mission he had inside his head.

Family Jacket.
Sean’s unusual dinner conversations spark very different emotions within Charles before and after the awful events on the beach in Cuba. He may put on a brave face for the boys, but they don’t need telepathy to know that their mentor may need them in the future. He really just needs to stop making them jacket potatoes.
A gift for the wonderful @lighttupthiswholetown . Thank you for being my bestie who fuels these cursed ideas <3
Tumblr media
"Charles?"
The telepath looked up from his dinner as his youngest student called out to him from the other side of the table. He wasn't usually one to get stuck in his own head during mealtimes, it was bleak and dreary up there and not a place he liked to stay upon his lonesome, no, Charles genuinely preferred to spend the time with others, openly chatting with whoever it was that he was dining with.
But he had just been so distracted as of late, he was tired and stretched far too thin regarding Shaw, Erik, Moira, and of course, the children, although they hated whenever he referred to them as such. The list of momentary obsessions could go further on if he gave himself time to think about it.
Although in fairness, in that moment he'd simply wanted a chance to think about that new history book waiting for him on his desk up in his office, or if it was worth buying a pie from the closest convenience store in town. He really fancied some apple pie...
"Charles?" Sean asked again as he leaned back in his chair, his eyes flickering down towards the food on his plate. His face was painted with a look of such confusion that one might've thought Sean's dinner to be a logic puzzle of sorts, and not scoop of delicious carbs. "You know when I asked you what was for dinner, what did you call this earlier?"
Charles pondered it for a moment, recalling the recent memory to the forefront of his mind. Alex and Sean had been wrestling outside in their gym wear, and had eventually come into the kitchen for water, panting like exhausted puppies. Charles had instantly scolded them for tracking mud into the mansion while he had been searching the refrigerator vegetable drawer for a specific bag of lettuce. Alex had immediately taken off his shoes and sat up on the countertop to avoid the wet footprints they'd walked in, while Sean had been more interested in what Charles was cooking, and immediately began a verbal pester.
Charles couldn't quite remember what he'd said to Sean in that very moment, he had been too busy getting a glass of water for Alex and searching the fridge, but he could quickly rectify that by just glancing at the plates.
Jacket potato, steak and salad.

the urge to start random new fics no one asked for instead of updating the ones people are waiting for new chapters on is STRONG. i have so many half finished ideas save me.
like what if i just “baelon lives and it changes everything” or “erik lehnsherr is aware his children exist and it changes some stuff” (yes i’m aware this is the first time i’ve mentioned it on here but i’m actually a huge marvel fan) instead of my five hundred unfinished fics, who would stop me. i hold too much power.

Lone Wolf Cabin (Ororo/Logan)

Each touch broke down the barriers Logan and Ororo built to keep each other safe. The boundaries of their own safety as fellow X-Men. As friends. As occasional lovers.
Two souls mending their past, nothing existed for Ororo and Logan than the present moment and their newfound union.
Each gesture carried importance. They carried the weight of time they had a chance to live through together. They bore meaning.
Slowly coming back to his senses, Logan glanced behind Ororo. Outside of the window, the snowstorm started again. Must be her doing.
“I know, ‘Ro… I know.”
With her in his arms, gently patting her silky Snow White hair, Logan finally hung up the phone of any restraint, logic, and reason he had left.

Ms. Pacman and Exams (Peter Maximoff x reader)
Warnings: mentions of exams (ew), friends to lovers, fluffy and cute
Tumblr media
It was late spring, and you and Peter had been hanging out in his room together at the academy. He was playing Ms. Pacman while you were studying for an exam.
"Ugh, I hate this! Why did they have to make school so difficult?" You complained as you slammed your book shut and threw it across the room. "So what if the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell? Who cares?"
"Aw, look at you! You're learning," Peter teased, not taking his eyes off his game.
"I'm serious. I mean, when would I ever have to use that in everyday life? School is dumb."
"Whoa, don't let the Professor here you say that," he joked. "Not unless you want a surprise pop quiz."
"Don't you ever joke about surprise pop quizzes around me," you warned him. "Seriously, they are the worst."
"I'll bet," he responded, but it was clear he wasn't paying attention.
"Peter," you said.
"Yeah."
"What did I just say?"
"Mm, something about pop quizzes and how much they suck." He had his tongue sticking out of his mouth, a sign that usually indicated he was trying his best to concentrate on whatever task he was doing at the moment.
"Well, you're not wrong," you muttered as you went to pick up your textbook off the floor so you could continue studying.
"Hey!" He suddenly exclaimed. "I beat my high score!"
You laughed at his reaction. "You're so cute."
He turned to look at you, his cheeks flushed. "You- you think I'm cute?"
You felt your cheeks grow warm as you realized what you'd said. "Um, did I say that out loud? That was pretty random, sorry about that," you nervously chuckled.
"No, it- it's okay," he said, fiddling with the game's joystick. "I, um, I was just gonna say, I think you're cute too."
"Wait, really? Wow," you said, surprised. "If I had known about that, I would have asked you out way sooner."
"So why didn't you?" He blurted, unable to keep his question in.
"Um, I just didn't want to ruin our friendship I guess," you admitted. "But you know what? I'm honestly glad I'm telling you about it. It's good to get this whole me having a crush on you thing off my chest."
"Huh, interesting."
It was silent for probably two minutes, maybe even less than that, but to you it felt like an eternity. I mean, here you were, having told your best friend about your crush on him, and him doing the exact same thing to you. At that point, you had no idea where this was going to go.
"So, um."
Peter's voice snapped you back to reality. "'So, um,' what?" You joked, hoping to lighten the mood.
"So, since I like you, and you like me, do you wanna, maybe, I don't know, go see a movie or something sometime? As maybe, more than friends?"
"Sure, I'd love to." You didn't want to seem too eager, but it was hard to contain the pure happiness you felt.
"Great! But, until then," he pointed to the book you were still holding, "you'd better study up for that exam or else you're gonna fail."
You groaned, rolling your eyes at him. "God, I hate you."
"No, you love me," he corrected, starting a new game.
"Yeah, you're right," you agreed, smiling to yourself as you went to sit back down. Little did you know he was smiling, too.

Erik and I had left and traveled to another spot where he had gotten information on some more Nazi’s that were still alive. I didn’t agree with what he was doing but I somewhat understand why he was so frustrated and wanted blood. Walking through the hot streets he opened the door and let me inside first. “How much longer are we going to do this, Lehnsherr?”
“You can leave anytime you want.” He responded reaching for the door handle not saying another word until we were inside the bar.
“Afternoon, gentlemen. Hot out there.” Erik sat down on a barstool hanging his white hat and jacket on a hook. “Beer, please. German bear. Of course.”
“Yes, it’s bitburger. You like it?” One of the men that was wearing a yellow shirt responded by eyeing me with a smirk on his face. “You got yourself quite a fine lady there.”
Shifting around on my barstool I corrected the man. “Oh no. We’re not together.”
“Well then maybe I can buy you another round.” He suggested with a cocky smile.
Erik turned around putting one hand on my hip and I could tell that his grip was more intense than it should have been. “Don’t lie to the men, darling. She’s just trying to be nice, gentleman.”
“I-“ I started to say something but decided against it.
“What brings you to Argentina?” Erik picked up his beer, drinking it slowly before he asked the two men sitting at the table.
“The climate. I'm a pig farmer.” One guy wearing yellow drank his beer.
The other guy in a white shirt spots up. “Tailor. Since I was a boy. My father made the finest suits in Dusseldorf.”
“My parents were from Dusseldorf.” Erik got to his feet and went sitting down at the table with the pair.
The white shirt man asked. “Ah. What was their name?”
“They didn't have a name. It was taken away from them…” The mutant who could control metal raised his beer glass and clinked it with each of theirs. “By pig farmers...And tailors.”
Raising my glass to my mouth I took a long drink being able to feel the tense that was in the bar. The bartender stared at me silently while I tapped the fingers of my freehand on the table. “Three…two…one.” I mumbled under my breath glancing over my shoulder seeing him turn over his arm and show the pair the nazi numbers they gave him.
The man that wore a yellow shirt moved his freehand downward where I clicked my tongue. “Tsk not smart dude.” He attempted to stab Erik but he managed to grab the blade and hold his arm down on the table with his other hand.
“Blood and honor.” Erik glared at the man, reading the words engraved on the blade. “Which would you care to shed first?”
The man whispered back. “We were under orders…”
Erik declared stabbing the man in the hand and he screamed, alerting the bartender to rush to the back and come back with a handgun. “Blood then.”
“Freeze, asshole.”
The other guy got to his feet telling the bartender. “Come on, shoot.”
Downing the rest of my beer I quickly moved behind the bartender who didn’t have enough time to stop me. Raising my hands to the sides of his head my hands turned red and he winced sharply. “Argh!”
Erik used his power making the guy move the handgun and pulled the trigger on the other guy who was standing. “Nice trick, Shaw girl.”
“You know my name, Lehnsherr!” I grumbled removing my hands from the man’s head when he still held his head and lowered himself to his knees while I stood behind him.
He didn’t respond at first and rather focused on the men. The knife left the guy's hand and stabbed the bartender in the gut. Then it came back into Erik’s hand and he stabbed the blade into the Nazi’s hand again. The man screamed, whimpering. “Who... what are you?”
“Let's just say I'm Frankenstein's monster.” Erik ran a hand through his hair getting up and standing in front of the picture of my father before he turned around and shot the guy still alive at the table. “And I'm looking for my creator.”
Bending myself down on a knee I noticed the handgun that had fallen to the floor. Picking it up the bartender was crying with blood before I held the weapon out for Erik. “Here you do it. I’m not going to kill somebody.”
“You’re infuriating, Addison.” He takes it from my smaller hand compared to his larger one.
He turned slightly to the guy with the knife in his hand and he fired the trigger causing me to cover my ears when the weapon went off. “Say that about yourself - ah!”
Heading towards the door I ran my hands over the fabric of the gray short sleeve shirt I wore. I had paired it with some Jeans and some brown boots. Tying my hair up in a ponytail since it was so hot there. Exiting the bar I almost made it to the car trying to open the door but it shut the second I got it opened. “Seriously, what are you five or something?”
“I’m the same as you. But you seem to be acting like one right now. You refuse to accept that you aren’t cut out for this and you won’t tell me what your power truly is.” He rolled his eyes.
Throwing my arms away from my sides I snapped. “Maybe because you haven’t proven you are trustworthy!”
“I have been letting you tag along with me this whole time who could have killed you a long time ago.” The German man snapped at me. “So what are you bringing to this partnership?”
Flaring my nose I huffed not wanting to hear another snarky remark from him. “How about you tell me, Metal man cause from where I stand I haven’t been much help to your mission.”
“I would say it’s because I enjoy your company but that wouldn’t be true.” Erik smirked down dryly. Yet unknown to either of them at the time that would be so close to the truth that we wouldn’t believe it later down the road.
Showing him the finger I just started stomping away not being able to stand his face anymore. “Goodbye Erik Lehnsherr. Hopefully your revenge plan is worth it!”
“What if I helped you find out why your mother left.” He blurted out causing me to halt in my boots. Slowly focusing my attention back to him I formed my hands into fists at my sides just staying still for a brief moment.
My father would never talk about my mother. I just knew that she left when I was younger. So finding out why was really important to me. She was just as valuable as Erik’s mother was to him, so how could I refuse. “If I help you find my father then you’ll find out what happened to my mother.”
“Yes, I will.” He vowed with those deep eyes of his that I sometimes found myself getting lost in. All the while I had to fight myself and not imagine what it would be like to kiss him or how attractive he was.
It was a few weeks before we had traveled to the most current location that my father was supposed to be at. It was a boat somewhere in America. Erik had slipped on a diving suit and I had one on as we snuck onto the boat. Hiding around the corner Erik drew a knife moving around the corner about to strike my father until there was a blonde woman with him that turned to glass and he held his head in pain. “Little Erik lensherr.”
The blonde declared. “He's here to kill you.”
“What kind of a greeting is that...After all these years?” My father tilted his head upwards, being able to sense that someone else was there with them. “It's rude to join a conversation, Addison.”
Slowly coming around the corner I clasped my hands together in front of me. “Hello father.”
Erik grabbed the knife from inside his suit and launched it towards Shaw's chest. But the blonde that quickly turned her body into crystal grabbed it. She ran forward and threw him over the side of the ship. “Erik!”
“Emma. We don't harm our own kind.” My father taunts her.
Emma glanced in my direction. “What about her?”
“She's my daughter. I'm surprised to see you after all this time. How have you been-”
He went to touch my face but I snagged his wrist harshly in my nails and he winced seeing my hand turn red taking some of his power. “Don’t pretend like you care about me now.”
“Ah! What the…you're like me.” He gasped and I could see amazement flash through his eyes until we heard a boat horn coming towards us. “Ah! Now it's a party.”
“This is the US coast guard. Do not attempt to move your vessel. Stay where you are.” Someone from the guard ships called out. There was another mutant working with my father who used wind and drowned some guys on smaller boats who were coming towards our boat.
Noticing the knife on the ground I quickly pick it up seeing Emma and my father have their backs to me. “You can do this, Addi.” I whispered to myself attempting to run up and press the blade to my father’s neck.
Yet the blonde spun around holding me by the throat and I dropped the knife clawing her arm for breath. “Nice try. Which would you prefer? My way or the water.”
“Urgh!” I croaked through the discomfort.
My father grabbed her shoulder. “Let her go, Emma. We need to go.” She launched me over the side of the ship and I hugged my knees to my chest before I got merged into the cold water.
Blinking my eyes open I held my breath hoping someone would figure out that Erik and I were in the water. Looking around I almost gasped seeing a sub coming out the bottom of the ship meaning that my father was getting away. Yet the sub wasn't going far and then my eyes shifted to the end of it and saw Erik swimming and using his power to hold the sub from leaving. Swimming over to him I could see he was having a hard time right before someone jumped down into the water right behind him. “You can't. You'll drown. You have to let go. I know what this means to you, but you're going to die. Please, Erik, calm your mind.”
I held in a gasp hearing someone’s voice inside my mind before he managed to drag Erik up to the surface. Kicking my legs and arms I released a sharp gasp getting my head above water. “Get off me! Get off!” Erik pushed the stranger off of him.
“Calm down! Just breathe. We're here!” The stranger hollered clearly back to the coast guard ships.
Erik gasped, splashing to keep his head above water. “Who are you? “
“My name is Charles Xavier.” The man with brown hair and bright blue eyes introduced himself.
Kicking my legs I eyed Charles as he called himself in awe. “What made you think it was a good idea to jump into freezing water like that?”
“I couldn't let either of you drown. Especially when there was something I could do to rescue you.” He explained with a smile.
The man who said he hated me questioned the man. “You were in my head. How did you do that?”
“You have your tricks, I have mine. I'm like you. Just calm your mind.” Charles said seeing the guard getting closer to the three of us.
Erik breathed out. “I thought I was alone.”
That sentence made me both sad and annoyed at him. ‘What am I invisible or something’ I thought to myself not caring if Charles could read my mind.
“You're not alone. Erik, you're not alone.” Charles declared shifting his attention over to me. “What's your name, love?”
I thought about saying my full name but decided not to. “Addi…Addi Shaw.” The guard ships finally reached us and we all got back on the ship and into some dry clothes. I changed into some dark jeans, some black boots and white sweater. I finished tying only two strands of my hair back with a clip and left the rest down. Charles had introduced me and Erik to a CIA guy and girl. He also had a sister who said her name was Raven but I didn't know her mutation yet. “Welcome to my facility. My mission has been to investigate the application of paranormal powers in military defense.” The CIA man explained when we all got out of the limo car.
Erik corrected the man walking beside Charles. “Or offense.”
“This guy Shaw, schmidt, whatever you want to call him,
He's working with the Russians.” The man kept explaining why he had called us in. “We might need your help to stop him.”
Charles clasped his hands together. “Marvelous. So we're to be the CIA's new mutant division, yes?”
“Something like that.” The CIA responded, leading the others inside and leaving the three of us outside for a moment.
Erik passed, eyeing me silently before Charles raised a brow in my direction, curious. “Addi, I was just wondering what relationship do you have with this guy Shaw?”
“He's my…He’s my father.” I sucked in a breath seeing Charles part his lips in shock, and we didn't say another word and headed inside with the others.
Comments really appreciated ❤️
