Do you think max will wake up? I really have no idea how she would recover from this and i think it’s a bad sign that el wasn’t able to go into her mind. On the other hand, they didn’t even kill hopper.

And eddie idk i liked him, but i wasn’t that attached to him (i knew he would die). And i think there are too many characters and they have to kill some of. I think it’s funny how everyone thought 4 people would die but they meant vecna has 4 victims.

I’m glad you asked about Max because I do have some ideas about how her story could go! Awhile ago I was working on a long breakdown about the X-Men 134 comic that is referenced in ST1 ep1, because it has a lot of similarities to ST4. Never ended up posting that. But in the comic there’s a concept called psychic death — basically two characters duke it out in a person’s mind and one person’s consciousness dies. But their body is still intact. Very much what happened with El and Vecna in Max’s memories. Max is trapped in the darkness when El tries to reach out to her, showing that her psyche is “missing” — but her body is still alive.

I think this is what happened to Max, and that part of ST5 is going to be about bringing her back. Vecna mentions at one point in the season that all the people he’s killed live in his mind, and that he can still hear them. I’m thinking that if they can destroy Vecna, it’ll release the captive consciousness/psyches/souls trapped inside of him. While most of Vecna’s victims are physically dead, this isn’t the case for Max. It’s only her psyche that is “dead” or trapped within Vecna. I think that’s why her “death” worked to open the final gate even though her body remains in a coma (aka not dead).

So yeah, I don’t think Max is going to die. I think her psyche will be brought back in ST5 when Vecna is finally taken down. Or maybe sooner if they find a way to extract psyches from him. If Max were to die I think they would killed her during ep. 4 or at the end of vol. 2. To have two near deaths for Max and one actual death to die anyways in ST5 seems unlikely. I might finish that X-Men post someday because it does seem relevant to Max’s current state.

I’m with you about Eddie as well. I loved Eddie and thought he was a brilliant new character, easily the best of the season, but I figured he would die as well. The Duffers have gotten pretty damn predictable the way they introduce a new likeable character who dies every season because they’re scared to kill off OG cast members. I absolutely think the cast has gotten way too large at this point, and I actually thought this season would’ve benefitted from killing off a few OG characters. They seemed to be hinting at that happening, but then the Duffers hinted a lot of shit that never happened so ah well, I guess. Even though it would’ve been devastating, I think killing some OGs would’ve raised the stakes a ton!

I was bored and randomly scrolled apon zibu angel symbols and saw one that reminded me of crowleys snake tattoo, I don't know much about these things but one of then is called Hana, it's a symbol with a line and a squiggly line thing going through it, the Hana symbol means peacekeeping and i was thinking if that's what the snake tattoo represents, like the stopping of Armageddon and not wanting to fight, etc.
