Kwannon (Revanche / Psylocke) Reading Guide

Were Kwannon's body is well known she herself had been dead for decades after her time with The X-Men as Revanche. Coming back to life Kwannon took the name Psylocke and has joined an array of teams using her lethal fighting skills alongside her telepathy and telekinesis. This reading order follows her appearances throughout the years.

Bolded: she's a main character/part of the team or it is an important issue for her. Italic: she's not necessarily a main character but still has interesting moments. Normal: She appears but it is not entirely important to her character.

Who is....Tom Cassidy | Black Tom Cassidy? - A Reading Guide

Tom Cassidy is an X-Men affiliated mutant from Marvel comics first introduced in 1976. He is the cousin of Sean Cassidy (Banshee) and a father-figure to Theresa Cassidy (Siryn/Banshee). Tom is heavily associated with Cain Marko (Juggernaut), who he met in prison. Tom's powers are directly tied to the land, and are heavily related to bio-kinesis. During the Krakoan era, Tom fused with the mutant island, Krakoa, which caused him a great deal of distress and drastically changed how he interacts with the world around him.

TOS comics ranking

At this point, I've read all the TOS comics out there (or almost), so this is my personal veredict, from best series to worst:

DC comics

The best by a long shot imo. Also the longest running series. Set mostly after The Search for Spock (vol. 1) and The Final Frontier (vol. 2). The following are my favorites.

From Volume 1:

-The Mirror Universe saga (issues 9-16) by Mike W. Barr: It becomes a bit of "star wars, phaser pew pew" in the second half, but still pretty entertaining.

-The first Annual, also by Barr.

-Double Blind and The Last Word (issues 24-25 and 28) by Diane Duane: The first one is hilarious, while the second is pretty moving and spones-coded.

-The Paradise Lost saga (issues 43-45) by Michael Carlin: A payback for The Apple episode.

-The Dante's Inferno/Death of James Kirk saga (issues 48-55) by Peter David.

From Volume 2:

-The Trial of James T. Kirk saga (issues 1-12) by Peter David: The humor is overdone at times, but this author brings a unique freshness and originality to the series. The trial itself is absolutely hilarious, specially when the gangsters from A Piece of the Action show up as surprise witnesses.

-Once a Hero (issue 19) by Peter David: Kirk has to conduct a memorial for the redshirt that just died protecting him, and he finds out he doesn't know anything about the man. Brutal, honest, and has one of Jim's best speeches ever.

-The Class Reunion saga (issues 25-28), The Tabukan Syndrome (issues 35-40), A Little Adventure (issues 42-43) and the Time Crime saga (issues 53-57), all by Howard Weinstein.

-The Alone (issues 62-63) by Kevin Ryan.

2. Wildstorm

Only two TOS comics from this publisher (actually a branch of DC if I'm not mistaken): All of Me and Enter the Wolves. Both are pretty good.

3. IDW

I haven't read all of them, since some series focus on characters I don't care much about, like Gary Seven or Number One. From those I've read, the ones I liked the most were New Visions (made with photo montages from the series), Hell's Mirror and Mirror Images (both set, of course, in the mirror universe), Echoes (set in the TMP era) and The Primate Directive (a crossover with Planet of the Apes).

4. The Tokyopop mangas

There are three volumes. Some stories are fine, others are meh! Perhaps the second volume was the best.

5. The UK comics

Do they have a lot to do with TOS? No. The authors were not really familiar with the series. But they're bizarre, fun and have pretty art.

6. The newspaper comics

Some of the first story arcs were quite good, though it lost quality over time, specially in the art department. Set in the TMP era.

7. Marvel second series

Consisting of the Unlimited and Untold Voyages series, as well as a mirror universe one-shot and a crossover with X-Men. Rather generic. Haven't read the Early Voyages series, focused on Pike.

8. Marvel first series

These are quite bad. Set in TMP era.

9. Gold Key comics

Some stories are imaginative, but they could be about any characters instead of Star Trek and it'd be the same. This is a problem with the UK comics as well, but somehow I enjoyed the others much more.

THE FOGGY APPEARANCES MASTERPOST

So I decided, after literal years of relying on places like the marvel wiki and comicvine to look for and double check Foggy Nelson's appearances throughout the marvel universe, to go and make a comprehensive list of his appearances outside of the main Daredevil title, counting Daredevil limited series and one off stories, along with cameos and alternate universes. The intention was to streamline the process for myself so i dont have to scour through pages and pages every time I wanna remember which comic that one thing happened, but hey, why not make the process of finding comics easier for people who aren't as deranged as I am? So here I made this post, from a real Fog-head to other Fog-heads out there, listing every issue outside of the Daredevil title (as it is more straightforward to find him, and extremely long to type on this list) he appears in, from barely there cameos to central roles, sorted by whether they are set in Earth 616 or not, and in no particular order. This is simply a list to serve as a guide to find him, it is not a curated list so the quality varies wildly, but I hope you're all as curious as I was to find all the most obscure and niche Foggies out there. Into the Anthill pt 32 - Seeing Double

Similarly to the Avengers Forever plotline, we've got a different Yellowjacket running around causing problems for Hank again. This one isn't just flirting with Songbird and being a douche though. After a few rowdy bar-fights, this YJ abducted and replaced Hank, imprisoning the "real" one for at least 6 weeks while he ran with the Avengers. Janet noticed that he was acting strangely the whole time but chose to do nothing about it like always.

But don't worry, I'm sure his friends will figure it out just in time for the skrulls to replace him again.

Avengers vol 3 #28-34, Thunderbolts vol 1 #43-44

The Avengers accompanied Silverclaw to her ancestral home in Costa Verde, which had fallen under Kulan Gath's control. Several of the Avengers attempted to enter the city but had their clothes and personalities changed within the city's limits. Troublingly, Hank transformed into Yellowjacket in there. Needing time to plan after they left the city, Hank used his powers to enlarge cabanas for the team to use overnight. The next day, Silverclaw foiled Gath's plot to murder her mother (the volcano goddess Peliali) and was granted reserve Avengers membership. Hank, who had been feeling ill since he was changed by Gath's magic, agreed to put himself through tests back home and figure out what was wrong with him. Unbeknownst to Hank, somehow Yellowjacket was there too.

All of Hank and Tony's tests found no irregularities in him to explain his spasms or sudden difficulty changing size. With nothing official to keep him from duty, he and the rest of the Avengers traveled to Chicago to help Vision stop Grim Reaper and the Maggia. Reaper escaped, but their data on Madame Masque led them to her base in the Nevada desert and right into a trap set by Count Nefaria. With Wonder Man and Atlas under his control Nefaria could not be beaten. The Avengers grabbed Masque and Reaper and fled to regroup.

Hawkeye and the Thunderbolts warned that Nefaria had created an ionic bomb to irradiate the entire world. Masque reluctantly helped to defend both teams from his influence using an ionic lock she'd developed years ago to resist him. Wonder Man and Atlas diffused his bomb's blast and Masque's weapons hurt him enough to force his power to leak out. After a long battle, Nefaria was finally defeated and Hank would begin working to restore Wonder Man and Atlas to their normal forms.

Magneto: Dark Seduction vol 1 #2-4

Afraid of what Magneto would accomplish if Genosha went unchecked, the U.N. sent the Avengers in to stop him. In response he destroyed a city to force them to focus their time on saving lives rather than fighting him. His goal had been to use the Genoshan mutate technology to restore his full powers, and the combined might of Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Polaris was not enough to keep him from it.

Maximum Security vol 1 #1-3, X-Men Unlimited vol 1 #29, Avengers vol 3 #35

The Intergalactic Council deemed humanity too dangerous, so they erected a barrier on the edges of our solar system to prevent any escape and flooded Earth with dangerous alien criminals. The Kree Supreme Intelligence had used the Forever Crystal to evolve his race and feigned service to the Shi'ar to conquer Earth by allowing a diminished version of Ego to assimilate the planet into his body. Once complete, the Kree would siphon the planet's energy as fuel for their armada. Earth's heroes were eventually able to defeat Ronan, restrain Ego, and inform the council of the truth.

Avengers vol 3 #36-40

3-D Man's wife accused the Triune Understanding of kidnapping him and giving his powers to Triathlon. As she explained, the Avengers were forced to divide their team to handle threats from Lord Templar and Bloodwraith. Yellowjacket captured Hank, who had been out at the time, and took his place as Goliath with the Avengers. After 6 weeks of restructuring their operations, the Avengers found themselves facing a Greek town where everyone had been turned into Hulks. "Goliath" suggested forcing them to merge together so that he could shrink the giant one down, but his plan was reckless and failed to work out when the big one smashed his field lab. As a backup plan, Bruce Banner was called in to absorb their gamma radiation and save everyone.
