No, it's not some mad collective fever dream we all had, they really did film it (6 months of shooting between July 2021 and January 2022). Native title is 吉星高照 (Ji Xing Gao Zhao) English title is Eternal Faith.

If we ever get to see it is another matter, i probably don't need to say the main reason is because it's a danmei adaptation - it'll have a harder time passing the censors than the average cdrama. Since the popularity of other dangais it seems the censors have become stricter in any case. Job one is always going to be passing the censors.

While checking chinese websites and articles I did find several sources of a rumour that the site security punched a girl who was visiting the set. I can't vouch for the reliability of this but anything that can potentially attract criticism can delay a cdrama release further. Other criticisms include the casting of the male leads, how cheap the set design and costuming look, and a cancelled actress who may have to remain uncredited.

So it will need to satisfy the censors in order to be relased, as well as satisfy the general public and tgcf fans to be worth releasing and I'm not sure if it can do it all. If all goes well and it does ever pass censorship, we won't get a release date in advance. I don't know if you've ever experienced waiting for a cdrama release but you will not get much warning when it airs. It will likey drop with a couple days warning in form of internet rumours, or just completely out of the blue.

HAVING SAID THAT - another rumour is that a full costume bl drama like the untamed will be released internationally in Sept 2024, bypassing a Chinese release. It's just a rumour but it does make this webpage very interesting! But please remember everything above and not get too excited just yet 😂.

Oh my god. How can we not fall completely and entirely in love with Season 2 of the donghua?

Why do I say I adore it so much? Because of just how cringe HuaLian are with one another. It's so embarrassingly endearing seeing these two complete love failures try to figure out how to flirt (and do it terribly for anyone not named the other).

Let us start with our sweet lonely old man Xie Lian. He feels his loneliness so hard at Pu Qi shrine it hurts. He clutches a ring and the second Ling Wen reaches out he hides that ring under his robes, guarding it like a precious secret. And yet... does he think "hmm, I had a wonderful time with San Lang! I hope he had a wonderful time with me, maybe I should try to figure out how to get in touch to "try" to return this ring (but really to see him.)

Good thing Jun Wu tried to drive a wedge between them by sending XL to Ghost City to find out (for the first time in his life) that it was Hua Cheng's territory.

Then XL is in Ghost City. And he's trying not to swoon when he sees that his handsome San Lang maxed out peak hotness and is letting him win and touching him. "He's teasing me." (He let you bet a god for a half-eaten mantou and played fake rounds until he'd rubbed enough of his luck onto you to lose gracefully. SIGH) Yet instead of going "wow I wonder if San Lang likes me?" he watches an indirect kiss and a smirk and runs away.

You would think that this would make XL the biggest dork? And at episode 2, you would be right.

But my dear San Lang. My lovely precious ghost king BB goes so far into the cringe the next episode that he grabs the prize from XL.

We start with the try to be cool "gege pretended not to know me and then did not come find me!" while accidentally leaving the impression he was headed to a brothel (which... given XL's first three minutes in Ghost City... not entirely impossible). So yeah. Off to a great start ghost king.

He did at least look okay with the discussion of a home versus a residence (and scored himself a perma-invite to Pu Qi... because XL was looking for any possible opening to make that clear too.) And a pretty good explanation of why he's in charge of the city of sin. Then the trying to take care of gege during a PTSD flashback, yes! Go San Lang Go!

And then... the armory. It was adorable watching XL fangirl over the weapons. And seeing him smile and talk about how great they all were.

But babygirl HC... don't just smile smoothly and say "I will give you the whole armory." Yes yes, we all know you feel this way, but... not on the first date. When XL also politely refused (because that's kind of a HUGE offer to him), don't double down with "then you can have this room and visit any time you want! OH! I can help you with upkeep!"

XL has not really even come to terms with the fact that there is this person who enjoys his company yet. He's really really confused about the whole why the world's most handsome ghost king wants to be around him. You're just going to confuse him way way too much by trying to give him an arsenal of spiritual weapons.

But here's the thing. It worked. Sort of. Not because XL accepted the swords, but because he accepted the affection and the friendship. He doesn't want HC's status or his wealth. He wants to pet HC's uber-weapon and talk about sacred swords with someone. He wants HC's company. And maybe because HC's existence has pointed out that most relationships are transactions, he starts his approach using that mentality, even though his love and affection for XL is the opposite of transactional.

HC doesn't need to wine and dine XL. He needs to visit Pu Qi shrine as much as he wants.

Neither of these precious beans understand what a normal relationship looks like. So it's not a surprise that what they both want is the same: a genuine and unconditional connection. They have it already, so even when they both attempt to flirt with each other in ways that would make Pei Ming have an aneurysm, they still eventually triumph.

Because below the surface attempts is something so sincere and deep that they'll get there, and even find those silly cringe surface things hilarious when they sort it all out together.

i am a little embarrassed to talk about this openly so i am doing it anon,,, but holy shit you have no idea how much your fic means to me. last year i was diagnosed with a life-altering illness in my bone marrow, and i've lost so much since then. i used to be muscular, and love my body, and just. augh. i've lost nearly 60 pounds to the date and all my muscle. some days my bones hurt so bad from the inside out that i feel like how you've written xie lian--pushing through every screaming fiber in my body to take just one more step forward. i can't recover fast enough. some days i feel strong and then get reminded that just vacuuming my floor leaves me a trembling, sweating mess. it's so frustrating.

you don't have to publish this but. being able to read something that feels so? accurate? so,,, i'm not sure how to describe it. i just feel seen, with the added bonus of your portrayal being written so beautifully and featuring my favorite little guys right now. i love it so much and i just wanted you to know that. not to be dramatic but your writing just. feels like home. qwq

I'm so sorry that you've had to go through so much, and I hope that things get easier for you in any ways that they can. I'm not going to say I know what it's like, because everyone's experience with chronic illness, pain, and fatigue is different. I sincerely wish you the best in your recovery and ongoing management of your condition.

I'm so truly grateful that you've been able to find something cathartic in what I'm writing. Most of my fics end up as self-therapy projects, so I try to be realistic and compassionate about the topics at hand in case someone else relates to it. I know one of the big differences between this fic and real life is that Xie Lian is eventually going to make a relatively full recovery, where people with chronic conditions will usually have to manage them for the rest of their lives, so I worry that the ending might feel frustrating or like wishful thinking to some people. Most of us don't get that kind of closure. But I really hope that this story can offer some sense of relief and validation to people who are going through their own recoveries or learning how to manage chronic conditions.

I really had no idea that so many people would find the story so relatable, so I really hope that I can do a decent job of helping people feel acknowledged and that they're not alone. Maybe most importantly, I hope that I can help offer some hope to people going through this sort of thing, because things do tend to gradually become more manageable as they navigate their conditions. There is a grieving process involved with diagnoses of chronic conditions, but it is a process in the end. 

I truly believe in the hope that life can still be full and fulfilling even if the illness or injury won't go away. That might sound ominous, but it's important to remember, wherever you're at.

Thank you for telling me what it means to you. I've learned that fics can have a marked impact on people's lives (my first big fic got me a wife, who is the coolest person who's ever lived; writing has helped me manage my own mental health like nothing else possibly could; I've made amazing friends and been able to share mutual support with them) so I take this seriously. I hope this makes sense and doesn't come off as patronizing (I would be the worst kind of liar if I said everything's going to be okay for everyone, and the "you're so strong and brave, I could never handle going through that" stuff makes me wanna scream) and I just. I was wondering what your thoughts are on the take that MXTX love interests are one dimensional? I saw a post that mentioned how MXTX doesn't let her characters explore their sexuality, but it rubbed me the wrong way honestly.

I don't mind if you focus on any of the main pairings, but I would love to hear about TGCF primarily if you're up for it.

Well you’re in luck, anon, because this is an argument that infuriates me! But before I get into that, let’s start with this: if you think the love interests of any of the mxtx novels are one-dimensional, you are not paying attention to the plot, character interactions, or anything to do with the love interests. All of them have lives and motivations outside of just the MCs, and even the one who arguably doesn’t (Luo Binghe) is fixated on the MC in a way that still has to do with his own character development and growth within the story. He doesn’t just perpetually play support with no internal life of his own.

With all that said, you were right for feeling like this discourse sounds wrong, because it’s absolutely a red flag when people say that “surely you can’t know your sexuality unless you experiment with a bunch of different people before you fall in love!” 🤢 Never in my life have I seen anyone argue that straight people must first date/have sex with a bunch of people before they can “really know” whether they’re straight; this is strictly something that homo/bi/queerphobes say to dissuade non-straight people from acknowledging their sexualities. Real people in real life are allowed to fall in love with whoever they want, regardless of what sexuality they do or don’t identify with and how many different people they have or have not slept with. This goes doubly for fictional characters who are products of their story and therefore 100% allowed to be in love with just one (1) person without that throwing into question the “validity” of their love, sexuality, or the believability of the story.

It’s funny cause it’s definitely a trendy discussion topic in mdzs and I guess tgcf now to suggest that the MCs and LIs can’t possibly be fulfilled as people due to the fact that they dedicated their love lives to just one person. In tgcf, Hua Cheng became a ghost king, kept humans safe, and started a ghost city to keep ghosts and spirits safe in the interim of Xie Lian’s second banishment, but this is somehow “unbelievable” or “one-dimensional” because he also only loved and held out for Xie Lian the entire time? He couldn’t have possibly grown as a person and become a more well-adjusted adult without the healing powers of hook-up culture?

Idk, there are just way too many stories being written about characters who date/sleep around and romances that come after that period, but mxtx novels are not those stories and the existence of one should not negate the validity of the other. If a reader finds that loving one person your entire life and not being interested in romance or sex otherwise outside of that one person is unbelievable, then they should simply find another story they do find believable enough to read that doesn’t break their immersion. But to then question the skills of the writer because their writing choices don’t speak to a reality you have experienced or accept?

Au where xie Lian was constantly being told by Jun wu that he should put more effort into his appearance but after dating hc, xl finds himself WANTING to put effort into his appearance and struggles bc is it bc he feels like he needs to or bc he wants to?

The thing is, xie Lian used to dress really nicely. Mu qing can attest to this, as he was in charge of all of xie Lian's outfits: great robes made of the softest silk and the most detailed embroidery, gilded head pieces and coral red earrings. Once upon a time he'd been a prince, and for many years he'd looked the part.

But then came the war. And then came the plague. And then came the homelessness and the poverty and his parents' double suicide, the loss of both his best friends. Then came 800 years of living in the streets, collecting garbage and eating scraps of whatever he could find because more often than not it was all he was gonna get. He busked and begged, and he slept on the cold, hard dirt for eight centuries. Even if he'd been able to keep any of his old clothes, his way of living would've destroyed them long ago.

He is content with his thin white robes and the bamboo hat across his back. It is all that he needs, and if there's one thing that he's learned it's that he doesn't need much. He is content with the way he appears.

But sometimes, he'll visit the heavens, and he'll hear ppl whisper as they watch him walk down the street: about the dirt on his hem, or how threadbare his sandals are. How he certainly looked the part of a scrap-collecting god.

Xie Lian doesn't care what the other gods say. He's 800 years too old to change himself due to a few whispers, especially because there's not really any point in doing so.

But he'll come up to heaven sometimes and greet Jun wu, and there's a tightness in his smile and in the corner of his eyes that makes xie Lian's stomach twist with dread. He feels Jun Wu's eyes look him up and down with thinly veiled disgust, hears his disapproval in the way that he says, "ah, don't you want to dress up a little? You're a God afterall, you should look the part". Xie Lian knows that he's embarrassing Jun wu, and it makes him feel sick.

One day, he buys a cheap ribbon in exchange for work. He ties it in his hair, looks at his reflection in a lake. He's still the same, dirty robes, threadbare sandals, bamboo hat resting easy on his back. But he thinks the ribbon looks nice. It's cheap, bright red and hardly even the length of his hair, but maybe,,maybe this will be enough. Maybe Jun Wu will like it, and be a little bit less embarrassed of him.

"What, is he trying to look good now? I think it's a bit too late for that, do you think he dug that out of the trash?"

Xie lian once again ignores the whispers. But when he finally greets jun wu, jun wu takes one look at him and pulls the ribbon out of his hair. "Such cheap material," jun wu says, handing xie lian back the ribbon. "Is unworthy of a god".

Xie lian goes hungry that night. He never wears the ribbon again.

But then Hua Cheng comes into his life. And all sorts of stuff happens and Jun Wu is exposed and dealt with, and finally there's peace. And xie lian is HAPPY, so unbelievably happy to have hua cheng by his side, to have his best friends back after so long, to lay in a comfortable bed and eat good food and know that this was here to stay, and he didn't have to do anything in return.

Xie Lian is so, so happy, and he can tell San Lang is too. And ultimately, people seem happy for them, and though it wouldn't matter much to xie lian if they weren't, it's still so unbelievably nice.

Sometimes though, xie lian will see handsome men and pretty women, and he looks down at his robes with a crease in his brow and a sinking feeling in his gut. He isn't sleeping on the ground anymore, he sleeps in a nice, warm bed with the love of his life and he can afford to bathe regularly and have his clothes washed now. In comparison to how he used to be he looks a lot better, even he can tell.

But there's always that voice in the back of head, telling him that "you're a god xie lian, you need to look the part" and "your clothes are quite unbefitting of your station, xie lian. You need to look more presentable."

And for the most part it doesn't really bother him. But then he'll be walking alongside San Lang and he'll see handsome men and pretty ladies walking down the road or passing in carriages. And he looks at San Lang beside him, and he tries to remember how he looked on that fateful day, when he'd first met San Lang even if he wouldn't remember until much, MUCH later. He tries to remember how he looked when San Lang and him first met, then looks down at himself. "I don't care what people think of me, really," xie lian thinks to himself, stomach twisting with nerves. "But I'd like to be someone worthy of San Lang."

So he asks San Lang one night, while they're tangled in the sheets at Ghost Manor, "should I Dress better? My robes are rather old and raggedy, and they've seen quite a bit of time. And I know that I don't really look the part of a god, maybe it's time I start."

San lang hums at that, and slowly sits up. He straddles xie Lian's hips, lightly stroking his hands up and down xie Lian's abdomen over his sleep clothes, and leans down and kisses him. It's soft and sweet and so full of love.

“Gege is gege no matter what he wears. His natural beauty makes anything he wears look divine.”

Xie lian huffs a laugh, eyes sparkling as san lang takes one of his hands into his own and presses. Kiss to his knuckles. "We could go and pick out some robes tomorrow if gege wishes? If gege wants to dress up then I'll take care of it, just let me know what you want and I'll foot the bill."

Xie lian worries his lip. "Don't you want someone who's a little more, I don't know," xie lian says, gesturing to himself. "More conscious of how they look? I'm sure I don't make a very pretty picture, especially when compared to San lang."

San lang presses kisses to the junction of xie Lian's neck, right where it connects to the shoulders. "I was struck by your beauty when you first caught me as a mere child. I was just as caught by your beauty when you acknowledged me every moment after, and always will be." San lang pulls back and looks into xie Lian's eyes. If gege wants beautiful robes and jewelry, then I will make it so. But to this most devoted believer, gege has and always will be the most beautiful thing."

And then san lang strips a giggling xie lian of his clothes and shows him just how much he's overwhelmed by xie Lian's beauty.

So they go out into town and buy some nice robes. Not a lot, nothing too gaudy, just,,,nice. And xie lian buys some rouge and some paint for his lips, remembering how it had looked when he'd been undercover as a bride so very long ago.

"Okay, you can come in," he calls to San lang, when he's ready. And when San lang comes in and sees xie lian in silks, with his hair done up in a hairpiece and with the faintest hint of rouge on his cheeks and paint on his lips, his breath catches in his throat. Then he moves to xie lian and he can feel San Lang's admiration in the kiss, can feel San Lang's awe in the shaky breath he takes in when he pulls away. San lang calls him Dianxia and gege and with each call he pours his devotion into it until xie lian breaks away, laughing happily.

When he takes it all off that night, stretched out in bed bare-faced and in his sleep robes, san lang kisses him again, and it still feels the same.

So essentially xie lian doesn't change much, but he finds that he loves making hua Cheng's breath catch in his throat, loves to feel pretty or sexy or just good depending on the outfit. So every now and then he'll dress up, and is content in the knowledge that regardless how he presents himself there'll always be at least once person who will stay by him for infinity, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

She and Lianzhu were on a little date which is why Xuezhai was so standoffish and displeased at Lianzhu offering for 'San Lang' and Xie Lian to come sit with them like ? Hello? I have plans to kiss you under the fireworks?? Maybe more than that if you want?? Why are you inviting these fucking guys??? They've been friends for a while and recently trying a little dating. Lianzhu also had kissing plans but she was fully expecting Hua Cheng to reject the offer and was purposefully shit-stirring. Can confirm though that smooches were had ;)

i mostly conceptualize fxhc within a larger xianle quartet polycule because i have trouble seeing fxhc gravitating towards each other without some other factor bringing them together. so i think the xianle quartet gets together and everyone has their dynamics, like each of them is in love with xl and xl loves each of them. fxmq love each other even if theyre weird about it. hcmq are essentially hatefucking to work through their issues (2/6)

but then fxhc just really have…nothing. like they’re not particularly fond of each other, but they also don't have as messy of a history as hcmq so there isn’t that emotional charged aspect. and i think theyre both aware of this, so they just never hang out, or go on dates, or have sex unless xl and/or mq is there (mostly xl though. i think at the beginning of the polycule’s relationship, they run into some issues because theyre all depending on xl to facilitate most interactions) (3/6)

anyway, so then at some point xl and mq are off investigating some ghost/monster and it turns out to be more complicated than they thought, and suddenly fxhc are left on their own for a week. and like, on one hand they could both just fuck off back to their respective homes, but neither of them really wants to face xl at the end of the week and admit that they were avoiding each other. so instead they stick around and are expecting it to be the most awkward week ever (4/6)

but then…they actually have a good time like idk they just kinda chill around ghost manor and maybe go out to a restaurant. and its really nice. like, they've inadvertently gotten to know each other and now they have things to talk about and theyre able to banter and the sex is still bomb even when its just the two of them. and theyre both just kinda bewildered cause they’re like. huh. when the fuck did i start enjoying your presence???? Personally speaking, Adult Lan Wangji is my most favorite Male Lead.

While Hua Cheng is another favorite Male Lead of mine. I like every setting about him. Mature, communicative, proactive, and gentle.

But when I think from a 3rd perspective, I guess Adult Hanguang-Jun is really good, since he not only kind to Wei Wuxian but also kind to others. Hua Cheng was nice to Xie Lian only, so from a 3rd perspective, I can't choose him as the best Male Lead.

We can't see adult and mature Bingmei, so I don't know, but the present Bingmei is very much not my cup of tea.

Teenage Lan Wangji is cute, and perfect to have for a date, but sorry not sorry, I really did prefer Adult Hanguang-Jun thousand times over, lol.

Some people may say being in the presence of the two strongest and revered people creates a lot of pressure. It's never been a problem for you. You've always enjoyed being in the presence of your two lovers. Xie Lian, a powerful and elegant martial god. While His Cheng is a powerful and suave ghost.

You love them very much.

But you lied, it is kind of pressuring. There's nothing wrong with your lovers of course! It's just that they're so strong and popular on their own. You aren't a very powerful god and you aren't a very powerful ghost. People don't know you. Most times your name is "That's the crown prince's lover, or that's crimson rain's lover"

You could live with this, it's not like you had a desire to be seen by the world. People just tend to forget about you. A lot of people don't like you exist so most of the time they accidentally exclude you from your own relationship. It just seems like an impossible place to reach. What could you do to seem important as well?

Xie Lian and Hua Cheng say you do plenty of important things by loving and taking care of them but it doesn't feel like that. You don't really do anything for them either. Neither of them needs protecting. They can protect themselves and each other just fine, and they go out of their way to protect you too.

Xie Lian is kind and keeps you and Hua Cheng calm. Assuring the both of you, and making sure everyone feels loved. The level headed of the three of you. Hua Cheng is very protective, and goes out his way to do things out of devotion or love. You can't do anything to compete.

Your relationship doesn't go as deep with them either. Hua Cheng and Xie Lian are just so wrapped up in each other it doesn't seem like there's room for three. They're already perfect by themselves and it doesn't look like they need you at all. You don't have a clue on why they even love you.

You've tried to make yourself more outgoing in the relationship? Trying to help them on missions or, help them with daily activities. You've tried taking over household chores like cleaning or cooking and yet it seems fruitless.

They always tell you that it isn't necessary. Someone else will take care of it. Hua Cheng has other people clean the manor, and Xie Lian would gladly cook by himself. They obviously don't need your help in missions, you'd probably just get in the way more than help.

You don't have a very outgoing presence in bed either. Very often Hua Cheng and Xie Lian do everything for you. Sometimes you try to give them pleasure instead. It doesn't matter if it's something little or big, your lovers shake their heads and say that it's a silly thought. You don't need to do anything they'll do it for you. Your lovers give you pleasure, they give each other pleasure. You want to give them pleasure too though.

These thoughts have been at the back of your mind for a while. That Xie Lian and Hua Cheng don't need you. These thoughts make you a little more clingy, a little more desperate. They haven't changed how they act towards you though. You just don't want to feel useless.

"A-n, me and San Lang can do it. We won't be long, promise. Just stay here" Xie Lian smiles at you and kisses your head. But you don't want to take this for an answer. You want to help! With something. Anything! It feels awful to just sit around while your lovers do every little thing for you.

You huff softly, watching your lovers get ready without you. "A-Lang you don't agree do you? Please tell A-Lian to let me tag along. I'll make sure not to get in the way!" You try persuading your ghost lover instead, gripping onto his arm to make him look at you.

You already feel humiliated. Begging like a child to join your lovers in something even though you're a grown man. San Lang shakes his head, " Getting in the way isn't our concern baobei. Gege is right we'll take care of it and be back home soon." He kisses your cheek.

You're left in Paradise Manor alone while your lovers leave off somewhere. You should be happy, you feel selfish actually. Anyone would be happy that their lovers do everything for them. Anyone would be happy to be taken care of all the time for the rest of their lives. You just can't...

Soooo you decide instead of sitting at home why not just follow your lovers out! It's not like you would be harming anything, maybe they'd even be delighted to see you. It's a better idea than sitting here doing nothing.

That's exactly what you do, you follow your lovers. With quite a bit of distance and making sure to be careful. You eventually find them, of course not in a good situation. They're busy fighting off wrathful ghosts and you make sure to stay far back. You don't want them to get hurt or anything so you'll just wait over here until they're finished.

That doesn't go well either. One of the ghosts notices you. It strays from the fight without notice from Xie Lian or Hua Cheng. Instead it comes for you, it's not like you're weak! You yelp from the surprise attack from the ghost, but otherwise you easily slay it down. All you were left with was a few deep scratches on your face. Whoo, It nearly got your eye!

You're feeling pretty proud of yourself until a pair of hands are gripping your face, and you notice Hua Cheng looking over your wounds. Even though you have some deep scratches you're smiling anyways. You just killed a ghost! A wrathful one at that!

Before you can exclaim your celebrations Xie Lian is dabbing medicine on your wounds with a furrowed brow. "What are you doing here y/n! We told you to stay home!"

Your smile falls, as your lovers both frown at you. You don't understand you did great! It was only a wound, everyone gets wounds sometimes! "I-I wanted to help" the word mumble from your lips, and Xie Lian finishes dressing your wound.

"How did that fair for you? We were doing just fine without you y/n, but now you're hurt" Xie Lian exclaims, flushed by nervousness and frustration. He had only wanted to keep you safe. He didn't mean to say it like that. It was a slip of the tongue. He hadn't meant it in hostility but you take it as such anyways.

"You two do seem just fine without me" you purse your lips, and back up. You're just upset, obviously Xie Lian would never mean such a thing but right now you can't help but take it as such. You've been suffering with these thoughts for weeks!

You quickly use what powers you do have to make a quick pathway and teleport away. Running away? Classic move but it feels better than sitting in front of your lovers disappointed faces. You just need time to get your feelings together so you decide to visit a friend's place.

You and Mu Qing know each other pretty well and you're great friends! Even though Mu Qing won't admit that. He's actually loved you for a while but you love Xie Lian and Hua Cheng and Mu Qing would never break up your happiness. He's been working on moving on so of course you can still come over and complain to him.

This time you just lie in his arms for a while. You spent some time just getting your thoughts together and stop crying. Then you tell Mu Qing what happened. He calls Hua Cheng stupid and says Xie Lian is oblivious with an eye roll. Mu Qing is actually good at advice and comforting you.

On the other end your lovers are very upset with themselves. Hua Cheng wanted to immediately come find you but Xie Lian told him it was better to give you space. They know you inside and out and Xie Lian knows you need time to get your emotions in order.

After a few hours Hua Cheng decides time is up though and breaks into the heavens again. Just because. Does it count as breaking in if Xie Lian let him in? Nah. They know where you are, unfortunately. They know you're with Mu Qing. Hua Cheng doesn't like that one bit. He's very capable of jumping to the conclusion that Mu Qing is trying to manipulate you while you're vulnerable but Xie Lian assures him otherwise.

Xie Lian makes Hua Cheng wait outside of Mu Qing's palace. Things would only blow off the hinges if Hua Cheng and Mu Qing fought. Xie Lian goes in by himself. He eventually finds you, not like it was hard. He isn't too happy to find you in Mu Qing's arms. Happy and comfortable. He hasn't seen a smile like that on your face in a long time.

Xie Lian ignores the lingering prickles of jealousy and walks into Mu Qing's room without invitation or notice. "A-n t's getting late, let's go home? Please?" He's relieved when you take his hand. Honestly it's nerve-racking. He hadn't meant to say such a harsh thing and then you went to someone else who is obviously much more capable at making you happier than they are.

Xie Lian and you join up with Hua Cheng again. You spend most of the journey back staring at the ground. You're ashamed, you feel like you overreacted. You were being dumb. Maybe they're angry at you and yet all three of you still hold hands. And yet when you get back to Paradise Manor, you all get ready for bed. And yet Xie Lian helps you disrobe and Hua Cheng checks your wounds before you lie down. And yet all three of you end up in the same bed, entangled in each other's limbs. Just like every night.

You all talk about it, words mumbling quietly in the dark room. It's a long conversation of "I'm sorry" and "I love you". You want to talk about your feelings more. Xie Lian and Hua Cheng want to make sure you don't feel left out or they're being distinct. The night ends with kisses and cuddles.

So maybe nothing was really ever wrong, and it would all turn out just fine. Because they've always loved you and you always loved them. Something like this isn't a big enough obstacle to take you away from them.

Part of the vibe of Jun-ho I love so much is that not only does he get really offended and protective whenever someone talks shit about Young-woo or the idea of them dating, he also is like ???? I'm confused why wouldn’t I date her??? She's amazing??? He legit thinks she's just the coolest cutest best person and he enjoys her existence so much like a cat that's obsessed with watching a fish tank. So like everyone has been everywhere already about how amazing Porsche is as a bisexual character who is manly and masculine and a very tall fit dude and yet he's allowed to be emotional and vulnerable and cute and flamboyant and sweet and in general kinnporsche never treated him like he needed to be one way or another to fit a certain mold as a man (or a man in a gay relationship that is the bottom which is also a whole can of worms)

But can I just say specifically how much I love that they made it really clear that when they have sex Porsche likes being picked up. He likes being picked up and held, he likes being in Kinn's lap, he likes Kinn actually physically lifting him up, they show this multiple times, and I don't think I've ever seen it shown you don't have to be a physically small man to enjoy having your partner do things like that. Just... god I love Porsche.

I love his confidence because he knows he is the strongest. I like how complex he is. Sometimes overfriendly, sometimes savage as fvck. I guess I do like him the most when he is fighting. I know how overpowered it may look like but I'm still at awe how strong he is

If you have not heard of this anime, better give it a go. The thing that got me to like him is his drumming skills. The animation really did justice to his parts of killing those drums.

Because he is a badass when it comes to fighting 👌🏻💪🏻. And he's so charming when he shows how he cares for Eren and the gang. Though not so obvious at times, hehe.

4. Hua Cheng - Heaven Official's Blessing

Waiting for your beloved for 800 years. Protecting him even he doesn't know it. How could I not like this man? I just recently finished the novel and damn, it hit me like a storm. Surge of emotions. Aside from he's good-looking, I just really love his devotion for Xie Lian. Loyalty award goes to him.

3. Cain - Dear Door

He is a damn walking green flag!!!! If we're only talking about the manhua and/or BL world, he is easily my Top 1. Just thinking of him makes me tear up a bit. Because why such a man is only fictional. waaahh! 😫🥺 But for real, I love how goofy he is. How he fool's around with Kyungjoon but also knows how to be serious at certain situations. Him being protective of Kyungjoon is really a good example of how you don't want to lose the one you love over someone/something. It doesn't feel he is overbearing and being toxic. And one more thing, I like his built and package haha. Well, who doesn't right? 😏

2. Gintoki Sakata - GinTama

Ohhhhhh of course I'm not only for romcom hahaha. I actually felt bad that he's my number 2 hehe. But overall, I like him for being one of the baddest samurai out there. I love how funny and hilarious he is. And mostly, I love how he is so caring with Kagura and Shinpachi.

1. Kazehaya Shouta - Kimi ni Todoke

Out of all the shoujo I've read and watched, he's the closest to reality of how a man should be (at least for me hehehe). Whenever I'm asked about my top 1, Kazehaya will be the first one on my mind. He really made an impression on me. I really like his character, he's not like other's who is super tsundere or will walk away at the first sign of jealousy. I love that part in the anime wherein he saw Sawako and Ryu talking with each other and there's Kurumi, getting him riled up and get mad at Swako and Ryu. Instead of being violent or being overly jealous, he run towards Sawako and took her away. Such a man! 😊

What is your favorite thing about Hua Cheng and Xie Lian?

I'm going to assume you mean as a couple because as individuals this answer is different but:

Its the trust. ITS THE TRUSTTTTTT!!!! I have very long had a thing for the undying loyalty trope, I'm a fucking sucker for it, it hits so so hard but tgcf decided to utterly decimate me by making it returned in equal measure?

Because while Hualian only get to properly be a battle couple (also a sucker for that trope) once, they really embody what GETS me about battle couples.

Its about the Trust, like I said. That constant feeling that the other is Safe and Reliable. Hualian had so many moments where they could have had stupid arguments, I read a lot of YA growing up and I've read SO MANY mangas and manhuas and consumed quite a bit of romcoms. It is a STAPLE of the romance genre I immerse myself in (though I suppose I don't know for danmei since tgcf is my only one) for couples to have AT LEAST one stupid misunderstanding/argument but Hualian DOESNT!!! THEY DONT!!! Because when issues come up they always trust each other and think about the other person's side of things and talk about it. Sure they have things they don't perfectly communicate about but they don't let it become something that keeps them from trusting each other.

Its about the Understanding. They're in sync. They're on the same page. Its why they can flit around perfectly beside one another in battle. Its the easy and simple insertion of someone else into your life. The knowing how to move around the kitchen without bumping into each other. The noticing small mood shifts or anticipating needs.

Its about the Vulnerability that trust and understanding breeds. Because Hualian's entire relationship arc is about them learning to rely on someone else. Its about XL learning that forever does still exist and someone wants to be there for him and he doesn't have to save everyone but if he does he can at least have someone who WILL listen when he calls out that it hurts. Its about HC learning he doesn't have to constantly be strong and capable at all times because he is loved even when he brings nothing but himself to the table. It's about getting to be childish and finally being enough even with all your past mistakes.

And that undying loyalty trope that I adore so much in many a romance I have consumed? I've never minded that it was a little unbalanced most times. I've never minded that it can have a little bit of a power imbalance. But by the time Hualian gets married its NOT unbalanced. HC has loved for 800 years, truly undying loyalty with no expectation to ever have that returned. But XL loves in equal measure. He trusts HC to near stupid degrees. We know from the birthday extra that his heart races every time he so much as thinks of his husband (AND THAT HE CANT STOP THINKING OF HIM!) It's undying loyalty returned in equal measure with so much trust and desire to understand each other always and cultivating a space where they can be vulnerable around each other even if only for a little bit while the rest of the world is burning down around them.

Hualian is an insufferable mall couple, constantly clinging to each other and being overly cute all the time and they're SO FILLED WITH JOY! They are unabashedly in love and its not in the big grand gestures or the dramatic plot that that love is found. "Hualian makes everything a date" because their love is found in small places. It's found in cooking poisonous food and having calligraphy lessons. It's found in fixing up the shrine or talking about nothing at all. They are a sweeping, larger than life fantasy romance that is based on the small ways people can love. That is based on trust. That thrives in domesticity.

Hualian are both convinced their greatest accomplishment in life is marrying the other. They are both convinced they are the one who married out of their league. There is just so much joy that radiates from their relationship and it brings me joy to see that.
