A Xiyao prompt for you if I may dear writer: so like, LXC is the esteemed first jade of gusu, perfectly composed and poised, most would assume that even if he did get laid he'd still be Respectable and Proper about it right? Except JGY doesn't account for what 20+ years of pent-up sexual energy does to a person and he's surprised(and delighted) at how Horny LXC is after the first time, and how little it takes to goad him into Sex Now mode. Queue: JGY having fun with how responsive LXC is and-

-enjoys making him Squirm(in a very elegant LXC way) in public when they have their double-meaning flirty conversations. Basically: horny-mess-LXC rights! So this ended up being like TWICE as long as I thought it would be, and then I decided that I might as well roll it into a Xiyao Month theme (Day 10: Longing) because that’s what this is all about anyway hahaha. This was such a delight to write. And I loved the potential of both POVs so much, I did something I RARELY do and included a few POV shifts lolol. As he flew along beside his uncle and brother, Lan Xichen could practically feel his heart in his throat, the organ all a flutter with anticipation, excitement, and a gently repressed arousal. It would be his first time seeing Jin Guangyao in nearly three months, and after their last few exchanges... to say Lan Xichen was eager for it was a massive understatement.

It had started in the days after Wen Ruohan’s death. They had traveled together in a slow pace towards Qinghe and Lanling beyond, spreading the news of the fallen leader to as many as possible, the inevitable end of the war fast approaching as the remaining Wen forces fell beneath opposing blades and scattered to the wind. In those days, the man who was still Meng Yao had just escaped a long period of undercover work, where he’d spent his time playing as Wen Ruohan’s right hand, witness to months and months of Wen Ruohan’s enthusiastic torture methods in the Fire Palace--and Meng Yao had survived it, he’d buried his humanity and focused on practicality, he’d used his position to attain the information their side had needed to turn the tides of battle... but he hadn’t survived it unscathed.

Once free from Nightless City, travelling by Lan Xichen’s side, it seemed Meng Yao had... trouble coping with what he’d done for the sake of victory. Lan Xichen had stayed close to him then, had seen the exhaustion in his eyes that led to him noticing the way he tossed and turned at night and the next chance he had, Lan Xichen had invited Meng Yao into his tent. He played sweet, soothing melodies on Liebing to help calm Meng Yao’s spirit, and when Meng Yao asked if they could lay down together on Lan Xichen’s bedroll to sleep... the very idea of it left him breathless with the depths of his desire for it.

On the third night of this private time together, Meng Yao kissed him--and while part of Lan Xichen had been expecting such a thing, he still found himself overwhelmed with surprise and delight to finally, finally feel Meng Yao’s mouth against his own. Neither of them had slept much that night, both too enraptured with memorizing the texture and heat of each other’s mouths, their bodies pressed close together and their pulses rushing, to find any need for it.
