Yo' withdrawal symptoms suck so bad. I got my Wellbutrin dose all fucked up-

OG dose 450mg (1 300mg & 1 150mg) then I ran out of the 300mg so I was only taking 150mg & occasionally doubling up on it to make 300mg. I've been off my normal dose for like a week or so and I just got back on my normal dose this past Friday and I've been hit with a wave of withdrawal symptoms. I'm so nauseous, fatigued, I have the brain zaps & I have the sweats and chills. I am just not doing well folks.

But unfortunately I still have to work. So I'm just going to be pushing through each day this week until I get my brain chemistry back on track 😩

My favorite sketchbook is the Canson XL Mixed Media sketchbook, I HIGHLY recommend it and I am not gatekeeping it because queens never gatekeep. It holds up really well with all types of media with no warping!!! I also use Liquitex acrylic ink because you can paint watercolor over it and it doesnt smudge!! I have no idea what watercolors i use though sorry, they are so old!!!

my worst quality as a student is that if i think an assignment is not worth my time i just dont do it. like thats not to say if i think its annoying or dumb i dont do it bcoz i still do some of those but if the net gain to my education and me personally isnt substantial i just wont do it! like what is the value here. what does this teach me like actually. like girl shut up

disabled trans person need help paying for food, necessities + shipping supplies for shop after being homeless for 6 months

hello, my name is equinox, i am severely disabled autistic trans person dealing with schizophrenia, PTSD, arthritis, hypermobile ehlers-danlos syndrome, degenerative disc disease and gastroparesis. i am a wheelchair and cane user. i am recovering and stabilizing after being homeless for 6 months; i just spent 2 full months living in a hotel paying $38/night. i have relocated into my apartment that i was waiting 6 months for due to the subsidized housing program taking forever to calculate my earned income

i just paid $307 for my deposit + prorated rent in order to move in, as well as a $20 electric bill and a $35 bill to get internet set up, which is required for my jewelry business. i also had i also currently need a lot of things in order to make my house livable including a bed and food, and being able to get to the pharmacy for my medications. right now i have no food in my home due to having to spend money on uber XLs to and from my motel and storage unit in order to get the few possessions i have like blankets and personal belongings. i lost a lot of my kitchen supplies when transitioning between staying with friends for a while

I've been taking Wellbutrin for a while now & I have seen it help me a lot but my social anxiety is still really bad. So I'm going to ask for an increase of that.. I've gotta say though that my side effect has been weight loss and that makes me feel so fucking good about myself.

Like about a year ago (more or less) I went from 220lbs to 215lbs since being on Wellbutrin I've gone from 215lb down to 202lbs and I've only been on it for a couple months, I'm asking for an increased dose because of the anxiety still being so bad but the fact that the side effect is weight loss is so great to me. It makes me feel so good to see myself losing weight & if I could just get down to 175lb I'd be beyond happy about it. Like it would make my mood so much better and hopefully it would decrease how much I hate looking at myself. Also my social anxiety being more controlled would help me so much as well 😩 I talk to my psychiatrist next week so let's hope she doesn't mind increasing the dose! ☺️

Chinese Measurement Units Guide

At first glance the Chinese clothes sizes make little sense (they still make not that much sense even at the 15th glance as well to be honest). And the fruit and veggie prices are also no odder.

Then I realized that China has its own local measurement units, so here are some unique measurement units you should look out for plus an odd one out.

1. Weight

Kilograms are used (confirmed this during my medical exam, which is a story in itself), but for things like fruits, veggies etc. 公斤 is used, which is basically kilos divided by 2.

一斤 (yī jīn）= 500g

两斤 (liǎng jīn）= 1kg*

*Even though 斤 is translated to as pounds sometimes, it's actually kilos.

This is also used for clothing sizes (on taobao at least), so if you want to get an accurateish estimate you need to convert your weight to kilos, multiple by 2 and then select a size that fits within the range.

For example: if you weight 70 kg, you then multiple that by 2 = 140斤. Clothes will usually have size ranges e.g. 120-145斤, so that could fit into the L (Large) category.

Note: Sizes vary across stores, so an L in one shop can be an XL in another store or an 2XL in a different store so be ready to contact the seller asking for more specific measurements if not too sure.

2. Length

Usually kilometres and metres are used, but there's also a local system.

0.5 km - 1里 - lǐ

1 km - 2里 - lǐ

3. Area

Same as the previous one, the western measurement units are used but there's also a local system. Not very common from what I've heard, but still pretty handy and interesting to know.

1 km² -15顷 - qǐng

4. Volume

Volume is the same as the metric system, with it's own name so no surprises here.

1 L - 1 升 - shēng

The only major issue I've had has been with the weight measurement and its conversion, but other than that there aren't many issues.

5. Contact lenses

Maybe it's a location thing, but the eye diopter thing here is slightly different.

If your prescription is -4.00, then here it'll be just -400 or just 400 without the minus if buying on Taoboa. It should be obvious (farsightedness of +4.00?? with people studying and working that much??), but it threw me off the first time I had to get my contacts here.

They range from 0 to -8.00 but with one value for the entire package, so if you have significantly different diopters in each eye e.g. -2.00 in your right and -3.00 in your left, then you may have to buy 2 packets, 1 for each eye.

This technically could be considered a follow-up on this little story featuring an unconscious Scott and an exasperated Mechanic. But it could be read as a separate story. Scott is unravelling into a self-destructive spiral over finding Dad. Virgil and John share a quiet moment of worry, apprehension and mitual comfort about it.

PLAN B

Virgil gave himself a moment to lean on the sink edge and to linger. Just a breath in and out, before stepping back into the infirmary. Scott was still out cold, hitched on IV, since the Mechanic found him unconscious and feverish on the Zero-XL rigging and brought the biggest brother back to the island. Virgil exhaled through the mouth against a bout of nausea and forced his mind to NOT go down the line of thinking what would have happened, if the Mechanic hadn't. Virgil didn't particularly like the man and was always apprehensive how his necessary presence riled Scott up, but that time Virgil was about ready to hug the daylights out of the guy.

John was hunched over by the side of the medical bed, still in uniform, completely still, Scott's IV-free hand clasped in his own, skin dry and warmed up by fever, brought up all the way to John's lips. The ginger's eyes were squeezed shut.

Virgil hesitated to interrupt the revery. If he knew John at all, he could be sure their space-case genius definitely went all the way down the avenue of conclusions Virgil forbade himself. But John spoke first, without moving or opening his eyes, before Virgil even moved from the bathroom doorway.

"We need a plan B, Virg."

John's voice was thick with threatening tears. The turquoise eyes that finally opened were red-rimmed and haunted. It was now obvious John was shivering. Virgil debated offering his brother to change out of the uniform into comfortable sweats, or maybe to don his own flannel shirt over. But there were more immediate ways to offer warmth and comfort. John's tremor was not from cold, anyway, but from the dread they all shared - the extent of Scott's latest spiral of self destruction laid so bare. Virgil moved across the infirmary to sit on the edge of Scott's bed, so that his and John's shoulders were touching, his other palm landed on Scott's blanket covered shin, automatically, to complete the circuit. Scott was so still and lifeless. Virgil gave his ginger brother a soft nudge.

"A plan B for what?"

John was busy fidgeting with Scott's limp hand in his own, eyes trained down.

"For Scott. If Dad's not there..."

Virgil's heart sank. They all were carefully fighting the cruel ghost of that estimation, but Scott? Scott was obviously being dragged under by it, drowning, weighing himself generously with more guilt than ever. More guilt than Virgil dared think about. John clasped his fingers tighter around Scott's, who didn't even stir, finally looking up at his brother. The anguish there splintered Virgil's heart. It's been a while since John appeared so young, and so scared.

"We're loosing him, Virg! If Dad didn't make it, Scott's not gonna... We need a plan B! We need a contingency to get him back! We need a failsafe!"

Tears were finally spilling over pale cheecks and Virgil felt his own eyes sting. Their ginger genius had hit the nail on the head of Virgil's own deepest, most secret fear. But right now his bigger little brother needed a reassurance. Virgil more than needed a reassurance himself. He'd normally turn to Scott for that, but Scott was still gossamer pallid and unresponsive, more unnervingly close to slipping beyond the veil to chase Dad's shadow, than he was even at the time of their memorable conversation in the arctic tent. There was an all too real chance of no Dad on the other side of their ambitious endeavor. Virgil was sucker punched to see up close what loosing Dad, loosing a battle with guilt, was doing to their eldest brother. Loosing Dad a second time around...

"We have a plan, Johnny. We're gonna find Dad and bring him home."

"And if we don't? We'll loose them both!"

It was a testament to the depths of his brother’s despair that the ginger didn't habitually correct the childhood moniker. Virgil acted on instinct, lifting his arm up to wrap around his brother, but giving John enough room to reconsider. John all but threw himself into Virgil's side, leaning on the larger man's shoulder. Virgil's nestled his cheek against the fiery mop, disrupted by a hasty return from the orbit and a hand raking one too many times through it in desperation.

"If we don't... we'll do what we always do. We'll hold onto each other, and onto Scotty, and NEVER let go."

John lowered Scott's hand, still clasped in both his own, on the sheets, letting Virgil wrap his bigger palm over thin pale fingers, one set still too warm to the touch. John didn't move away for a long while, and Virgil had no intention to hurry him. They had a plan. THE plan. The only one that would save them Scott in the end of it all and keep their world from shuttering completely. They really, really needed to find Dad.

So I just read an article in the paper about the UK government wanting to ban the (and I quote) "dangerous American super-bulldog" - the American Bully XL. Please excuse me while I roll my eyes at this bullshit.

The reason for this is apparently a man in Staffordshire being "mauled to death" by two dogs of that breed and according to Rishi Sunak it's a pattern in the breed's behaviour.

Even though apparently those specific dogs had attacked another dog before this incident and people had expressed their concern about them to the police.

That sounds to me like a problem with those specific dogs and even more so the owner. But the dogs get euthanised and the guy gets to go home on bail.

The article also quotes Bojo saying the problem in most cases is the owner and not the dog itself - and I never thought I'd say it but - listen to Boris!

I worked as a dog walker for four years and yes we had a staffie that became too much of a problem that we had to drop it as a client (because the owners wouldn't get it neutered even though the hormones were making it aggressive to us AND THEM) but we also had a dachshund that would terrorise the other dogs and tried to bite your face off if he was in a face-height crate in the bus. And we had a chihuahua who only wanted to ride in the front with my boss - and he'd also try to bite your face off if you tried to put it in a crate in the back. Same with a Jack Russell. Most of the big "dangerous" dogs were gentle giants. (my boss' wife used to walk 3 Dogues de Bordeaux when she was pregnant with their first and she'd always tell me she never felt more safe).

First it were German shepherds that were dangerous, then rottweilers, then staffies and everything that looks like staffies, and now the American Bully XL.

My old neighbours have a dog like that and I swear to god it was scared of its own shadow. It would run and hide before attacking anyone.

Banning a breed doesn't solve the problem if the assholes that own them "train" them to be fighting dogs, forcing ALL bullies to wear a muzzle in public won't solve the problem if people still don't train their dogs normally (and may cause medical issues because of their brachycephalic faces - the flat noses). Your dog is your responsibility. If you know your dog doesn't get on with other dogs, keep it on a leash and away from other dogs. If you know your dog might snap in certain situations, it is your duty as an owner to make sure that doesn't happen. To your dog and the rest of the world.

The only ones who will benefit from this ban will be the manufacturers and sellers of muzzles for dogs with brachycephalic faces.

Sorry for the rant but this pisses me off.
