Beauty and the beast au where Mirabel was rejected by Alma after her ceremony. She's sent to live with Agustin's parents, who live on the outskirts of the Encanto because they don't like the gifts. Julieta and Agustin didn't get much time for this but agrees to just let her stay there for a while, intending to take time to try and talk with Alma and also build Mirabel a new room. They were going to send word for Mirabel to return when they were ready.

The candle however was pissed that Mirabel was sent away and when Alma suddenly declared that it was what was best for the family that mirabel not return and that they shouldn't bring her up anymore, it lashed out. Casita closed up and Alma was cursed, and the Madrigals we're by association either because they hadn't resisted enough or just because they've been influenced too much. Everyone was turned into a creature associated with their gifts or partners and a part of the Encanto all forgot those trapped inside.

A growth surrounded the Casita locking others out and the curse will only be lifted when Alma truly understands what she did wrong and apologize to the one she wronged

Years later, Mirabel has been living, aware that she was left there by family but remembering nothing about them. A boy in town has been bothering her and all the kids know of Casita as a haunted region of the town.

The boy steals something important to mirabel and throws it over to the Casita forcing her to have to approach and possibly enter

They Fr got dogged in lie that by Casita…Casita fr didn’t let that slide 💀💀 Jokes aside though, it sounds really cool! Probably makes the family realize just how f’ee up Alma’s decision was, and how they really should have stopped it, but ultimately didn’t. I do have two questions though:

Does this take place before or after Antonio is born? If it’s before than Mirabel is rather young huh 😩 if after then Antonio is not very old.

What would be the rose in this scenario?
