since I joined this community, I've always disliked the liars here, who put false hope into ppl and cause extreme scepticism. so, I'd decided to manifest the ability to tell whether ppl are lying and make a huge exposé list on all of them.

with my void entry nearing, I'm wondering whether I should still carry this out or just never take a second look at tumblr after i post my success. obviously, I can't do that bc allowing y'all to live like that (especially as someone who used to doubt in successes a lot) feels criminal to me , but idk.

new for this event: sharing your other work if any of you have old cowboy-ish zines of any size, please submit a post about them (or a link to an existing post for reblogging)! they won't be part of the gallery/prints/download collection for the event, but we'd love to reblog them and share the cowboy zine love. additionally, if you're a zinebash alumni (ie, you've participated in a previous event) and have any other non-zine cowboy art or writing, you are also welcome to send those posts to us.

also new for this event: limits and cost, sorry :( to make things a little easier for myself, this time around there's going to be a limit on how many print copies I make available. but you all get to decide which method of limiting you prefer

if we go with the first option, i'll continue printing them myself at home. cost will be upped slightly (probably $2-3 instead of $1 depending on number of zines) if we go with the second option, i'll have them printed elsewhere which means we can do color! but it also means they'll be a little more pricey (around $5 for 10 color zines) the cost increase is still just covering the expense of printing them -- with the second option I'll know exactly how much it is and price accordingly; the first is a rough estimate but if anything I'll round down

I'm trying to think which of my idiots would be the most tumblr-bound lol out of my current OCs. V would run a helluva shitpost blog. Like you know the Heritage Post level shitposts? That is absolutely something she would be fantastic at. But she'd constantly be night blogging: "V, why are you posting at 3:43am?" "Don't worry about it".

Era, on a completely different note, if she was given the time would have a beautifully formatted, gorgeously aesthetic blog showcasing her paintings, her painting set up, scenes around Dromund Kaas (especially the floral gardens) with everything carefully curated. Theme? Moody pastels. Photosets? Color coordinated.

I have SO many fond memories linked to my characters, especially ones I've made since joining tumblr back in...*checks notes* 2016ish as I've really built myself a fantastic community of mutuals that are so supportive, have engaged me with my characters all the more, and created some truly stunning joint worlds. I'll highlight a few that I've stumbled back across while digging through tumblr (though its absolutely NOT an all encompassing list):

The entire Fictober 2019, where I wrote Moments in Time will forever be special to me; it was my first attempt at fictober and the outpouring of love and support and excitement to follow ficlets of Wulfwryn and Raenor (who were NEW) was so inspiring and as we've seen they've become some of my most written characters <3

Emeldir's Traffic Cone Jacket Saga aka the series of in game shenanigans, fics, and prompts that @greyias and I clowned about a few years ago but keep resurfacing every once in awhile :P

Co-writing fics and writing duo fics with mutuals, especially the Idan and Terrance Odessen Reunion that @lumielles and I wrote pair fics for. There's something so beautiful about writing together with friends.

The enabling you all do >:D the Dream Team of Five, Roslynd, and Rhys wouldn't exist if @tiredassmage hadn't encouraged my tomfoolery with pulling Five off the shelf and breathing new life into a character I didn't think I'd feel inspiration for again and that truly is the story with so many of my characters. They wouldn't exist without y'all! Not in the way they currently do.

48. OC who is a perfect cinnamon roll, too good for this world, too pure?

Its a pretty solid toss up between Raenor and Tucdela. Hmmm...nah, I'll go with Tucdela because Raenor has his super saucy side which while that DOESNT mean he isn't the most perfect, cinnamon roll, it does mean he's a little less "pure" :P

Terrance has been on my mind a lot lately (hence the stumbling back on the fics) and I really really need to talk more about him because not only is his and Idan's dynamic fantastic, but I actually really popped off with him when I created him. The idea of a miraluka who struggles really really hard with using the Force to "see" as he gets overwhelmed extremely easily, especially on high population planets (like Coruscant) or highly Force attuned planets (Tython, Odessen) is something I want to explore more. That, and I need to write more JediSon and JediDad because Idan really comes through and extends a kind hand to a young kid who has not been shown that. The simple things like a cup of tea, or some spare soft fabric for his eye covering. I need an excuse to go wild over Terrance lol

So I've been using the Queue feature of late to ensure that I can keep y'all in premium BJR content steadily over time, and also just Scheduling posts more to space them out when I want them to go at certain exact dates and times. Great, right? Really mastering the whole "Tumblr smarter not harder" thing after nearly yeeting it out the wardroom window like a certain bottle of claret for constantly borking my Notifications and hiding the exact stuff I most wanted to see. And you know, giving me that many more intrusive post-traumatic stress thoughts in the process about "failing" people who send me nice things.

Score! After a solid couple months in the blender, my brain emerges victorious and I get serious about simplifying my Tumblring. More guys, more sick delights sprinkled with interstitial whimsy, less sporadic effort throughout the day. Everyone wins.

I'm moving right along. Doing the hippo meme thing where I'm in my lane and reasonably unbothered even if my arid and snakelike skin is never sufficiently moisturized. I am enjoying functional Notifications. My Tags feed is showing me untold treasures from long ago when I scroll back through #black jack randall and this is correct. I am Queuing mass quantities of previously un-reblogged him. Birthdays, holidays, massacres, you name it. He is there, being awful. I am constantly having to Shuffle in other evil Redcoats and weird random shitposts and art. I am going severely HAM in the tags as usual.

Anyway, all excellent until Everyone's Favorite Hellsite decides to ignore my carefully curated timestamps for a string of posts earlier today and release them all right on top of each other instead. Apparently I blasted y'all with a whole bunch of guys at once like a damned fire hose. Some of you may not have needed that much evil Redcoat content within the span of five minutes, but you certainly got it!

So ah. As you can see, I am. A bit behind on reblogs.

What is my excuse, you ask??? Did you make an event and then fall behind on your OWN EVENT??? Did you know you are going to fail at being a Hiccanna month administrator, tumblr user fuckyeahhiccannamonth, something that is both fair to fear and possible to achieve????

So, in no particular order, here are my three very flimsy reasons I will give when sternly asked why I am So Very Behind on my own event:

I spent a whole-ass month-long event working on Week 1 prompts. Y'know. Like a terrible planner?

I fell victim to a terminal case of Brain No Worky. I wish I knew why! My neurodivergent brain simply went "time to do prompts extremely slow!" and despite all my protests of how I Did Not Want To Do That, it was to no avail. Brain No Worky is a very serious condition, you see. I do, however, feel like this is in keeping with the spirit of a ship that is so insanely and ragingly ND4ND. Like this is something that could and would happen to both Hiccup and Anna and I have to respect that.

IT TOO DAMN HOT OUTSIDE. Climate change my beloathed. I get home from work and collapse onto my bed with the AC on and there goes like an hour or two. I've been running on like 60% battery since the stupid heat dome got here. I also work outside, which!!! Does not help!!! Call me an astrology bitch the way I blame the stars for my problems (or one star in particular. Hey sun can you tone it down a notch. Please)

SO. Because I acknowledge this is mostly my fault (although a solid amount of blame falls on oil executives, my natural brain chemistry since birth, and celestial bodies), I'm determined to make it up to y'all. Since many of you have not yet gotten the adoring comments you deserve on your submissions, we're going to pretend that Hiccanna month is on a month-long time loop!!! That's right--y'all now have until the end of August to get in any prompts you didn't get to, or wanted to expand on!!! In return, I will reblog all of your lovely submissions by the end of August, or be extremely Cringefail.

I myself will probably not get in any more submissions than what I originally had planned (which is still a few more, don't worry!) because I'll be busy with another writing event in August. So I'm possibly just throwing this into the void. I'm not sure which of my friends still use Tumblr. I made a solid transition to Twitter soon after the nsfw ban in 2019. Sure, I've rebloged a few times and posted a couple Inked announcements (not even all of them), but it stops there.

I'm an nsfw content creator, and kink is a significant part of my life outside of the internet. After the purge, Tumblr felt like a space where I could no longer be my true self. I had to censor myself and curb my words, which was exhausting. It was compounded by the fact that most of my friends left.

Now, the future of Twitter is questionable too. I feel like I'm running out of places to be myself, if that makes sense. And I miss what Tumblr used to provide. My Facebook is sterile because I need to keep it work-safe. And Fetlife? Don't even get me started. I can hardly utter a word or post a pic without a random cismale "dom" expounding on the many things he'd like to do to me. Makes me want to wear a bag over my head sometimes, because it's just so gross.

Anyhow, I'm not just here to bitch about social media. I met some of my best friends on Tumblr, and a ton of my readers were on this site. If any of y'all are still on here, send me a like or a dm, would you? It's been a crazy 3 years, but I miss you all.

Updates, I guess? (Part 1)

Well here I am. It's been quite a while, hasn't it, tumblr? Last post I'd posted was in November, and those were just mindless reblogs that I don't even remember. Last actual post was in April, where I had actually written about what I was feeling. Made it private because it mentioned my friend by name.

Well, a lot of things have gone down since the last April. Where to begin? I think, the chaos started with my GRE getting postponed because I did not realise that they had stopped accepting Aadhar as an identity proof, and were back to only using the passport. And well my passport had been expired for like.. 7 years lol. So yeah, that meant I had to reschedule my GRE, run around for the whole passport process, and just get stuck in a bureaucratic mess that I'd be untangling over the next few months. I didn't know the chaos had only begun.

Around this time, I also started a casual thing with my ex? We started getting closer again and were both clear that this was temporary since she was moving to the US in a few months for her masters. (That's right y'all I was dating a senior 😎). We got pretty close and actually sexted for the first time? (Both first time with each other and first time in our lives) and it was really nice for a few days. Then she freaked out and just pushed me away, which really hurt. She said some pretty hurtful things, honestly, and we barely kept in contact after that.

I think around this time I gave my TOEFL as well? It's honestly pretty blurry at this point. But sometime around this time, I gave my TOEFL. I wasn't home for a solid month and just hopped from one relative to another. Once I was done, I finally came home and started trying out for internships.

A little detour here - suddenly my college was like oh you'll have to come back because we won't be allowing a credit conversion that we had previously said we would. That got resolved, I didn't have to go back to college after everything I'd done to finish my credits early and get out of there.

Anyway, back to internships. Tried out in a few companies. Most weren't willing to pay because I was looking for something in the software industry (machine learning, to be specific) and the market at the time was horrible. Hell, it's only now starting to get better. These were mostly referrals, though. I remember trying out for a paid internship in Jan-May 2024, but their test sort of glitched out on me and I couldn't even begin the test. And that opportunity was gone too.

My ex had also given me a referral at the company she interned at. But it wasn't machine learning, and I really wanted to keep it as my last option. But seeing no other way out, I interviewed for them. The interview process was a little harrowing, but I made it through and got the offer.

Suddenly my uncle came in and said do you want me to ask at my company? It was a manufacturing company so their focus was not software at all, but they still had use for data analysts. This was a better overall fit for me than the offer I had in hand. I sort of fumbled rejecting the other offer, but in the end, I joined the company my uncle worked at.

initially i disappeared cause my internet was mostly down for a whole month! and then i felt guilty, and then i got very sick and burned out, and then i got COVID lmao and that kicked my butt severely, i still have a leftover cough from it (my self isolation days end tomorrow tho :D i wanna go outside so bad)

i was having a very hard time finding motivation to draw dipcifica, despite having a solid number of asks that i could have referenced. nothing was really working out tbh, and then tumblr also decided to not let me know that i got any further asks or messages in the time i was gone until i opened it right now on my laptop (i'll answer to some of them after this) so i didn't know people were actively looking for me lol

i'm very sorry for being gone for this long! i don't think i'm going to be able to go back to daily posts, but someone in my inbox suggested monthly doodles and y'know what, that i can do, that's possible JDSFKDSJ so mayhaps i'll change the url to fit that :O

i'm also wondering if it'd be a good idea to like, open up submissions? if people wanted to showcase their own dipcifica doodles? or just dm me so i can reblog their work :O so that could become a more regular thing - it's just an idea for now but! just putting it out there, if there's any interest let me know!

We try to keep positive stuff in the main tags (in general tags), occasionally there will be stuff about Twitter or negativity about them but generally, as far as I've seen, they aren't heavy, or they are but they're pretty solid arguments that aren't like, loud, yelling, or gives off that vibe, I suppose.

#cw!__ / #tw!__ / #neg!__ / #__ crit+ more can be tagged if needed or requested (as in, if the tag isn't already there). Depends on who runs the blog. Whether you need to send in a ask, or just reply to the post, or DM. Up to the person to runs the blog.

Filtering, now, this isn't for other people to find your stuff and save them time of scrolling. It's somewhat related to the tagging system of Tumblr but it's for yourself this time, very cool.

Two options : tag filter and content filter.

Tags filter is self-explanatory. You enter the tag you don't wanna see, and done. You'll never see that tag, or any posts that have that tag again.

Content filter filters posts with certain text content. Certain- as in the text you've entered, and decided you never wanna see em.

Juneteenth is about Black people who were officially technically supposed to be freed from enslavement. Nobody else. Nothing else. It's not a POC day. It's not a "freedom for all" day. It's Black folk, Black culture, Black emancipation, SPECIFICALLY. Any other observation for Juneteenth is gentrification.

Y'all need to actually take a moment and consider that something could be ableist when someone says it is rather than dismissing it out of hand and then laughing at the idea something could be ableist and hurt disabled people.

If someone says, "x is ableist," take a fucking minute to listen and think about things beyond your immediate understanding of the world.

y’all. please. I’m begging you. don’t fucking smoke indoors, and don’t smoke at bus stops or near doors. I’m allergic to both cigarette smoke and marijuana smoke.

I get ear infections. I couldn’t hear out of my right ear for a solid six months last year because of a roommate who smoked marijuana and the resulting ear infections. I get sinus infections. It makes it hard for me to breathe. It triggers my migraines.

There are other people who have other reactions. I’m sure there’s medications that really shouldn’t be mixed with it. People also have pets and birds are very susceptible to smoke in the air and can get sick/die from it.

Like. I know cold weather is setting in and all that and I get it, going outside when it’s cold especially when it’s wet and cold sucks. But PLEASE, if you are in any type of public or communal space, go outside or find an alternative indoor space. Especially if it’s an apartment or dorm because doors don’t block everything. The smoke doesn’t stay in just your room or unit and will spread. Also when you do go outside, be aware of how close you are to windows and doors because the smoke can go inside through those.
