tumblr's obsession with "problematic ships" really changed the way older fans interact with media. You guys were really on here straight up attacking each other over fictional characters. Voltron was a good show. Because you didn't like a ship someone else shipped, y'all really started associating those people with sexual predators.

In the bnha fandom, if someone as young as a 20 year old said a student was their favorite character, y'all were pouncing left and right. If that same person said an adult was their favorite, you did the same thing.

Meanwhile, in the supernatural fandom, despite the fact that we didn't have the same ships, we were writing gift fics and drawing each other fan art.

You so-called "fans" would NEVER have survived the superwholock days of old. You never would have been able to handle the Teen Wolf days.

If you don't remember the Naruto roleplay guilds, you don't have a right to police other people and their fandom preferences. Some of that shit was DARK. DARK DARK.

Tumblr, home of Fandom? Not anymore. Fandom isn't fun anymore. No one WANTS to post anything, out of fear of being labeled something they're not.
