I do not believe 9/11 was an inside job and frankly, people who do are certifiably wackadoo.

But the government's (in)action is a large reason it was able to happen. Clinton had constructed a pretty solid anti-terror apparatus during his two terms, and the result was that the threat -- from bin Laden specifically -- was kept at bay. Plots were caught before they could really start.

What did Bush do when he became POTUS in 2001? Begin to dismantle the anti-terror apparatus because you know y'all... terrorism isn't a really big problem it doesn't happen! (it's kind of like deciding to stop taking an anti-depressant because you feel fine, this sort of reasoning, but W famously sucked balls). There were lots of warnings about Al Qaeda, about airplanes being used as weapons. A dude even reported it when a student at his flight school just wanted to learn how to operate the plane in the air, but didn't want to learn how to land or take off. All these signs were there, given to the government, where they were shrugged off.

And then 9/11 happened.

The parallel of right-wing incompetence when it comes to handling intelligence the right way to prevent terrorism is very sadly striking with this information coming out about 10/7. And it's a ghoulish right wing government in control here, too. The major difference is for some reason Americans gave Bush a VERY high approval rating immediately and it lasted a long time, while Israelis hate Netanyahu. His approval rating is in the teens, I think? That's incredibly low.

A terror attack can still be the fault of the government that failed to prevent it, an evil far more ordinary and banal than something like an "inside job." You don't need conspiracy theories to recognize poor governance. But what do you expect from the right wing that has an open resentment for a functioning democratic government as a fundamental guiding philosophical principle?

Since I'm only slightly insane today, I will be stating a series of my hottakes that I at best kinda agree with(some language is bolstered for effect).

-What MOGAI did to the queer community was ultimately detrimental to the queer community, as it reganised identity; identity is meant to be a tool of unity toward common liberation and not a series of self describers. Those are what adjectives are for.

-The west is Hella mid. It is mad hypocritical for the US to preach about "spreading democracy" when it has played a massive role in undermining it(See "Chilean Coup D'état"). It is hypocritical for the US to go after other countries for beyond abysmal HR record on when a significant political current (sometimes called Y'all Qaeda) is looking to mirror that record. It is similarly critical for US and EU political figures more broadly to criticise China on grounds of the persecution of Muslims when most of those same people will extol and praise 'Israel' for "self-defense"(blowing up hospitals and daycares) with more unambiguous violations of the UN genocide clauses.

-How liberals can go from Condemning Russian Imperialism(as they should) in Ukraine, to going on to repeat some kremlin talking points almost word for word when defending the genocide done by 'Israel' is baffling, if not for the fact I regard most liberals in the same vein as any other imperialist and WS. The common factor between Ukraine and Israel is not some vague concept of right to their home, It's whiteness, and being friends with the white world. Why else would 'Israel' be in something like Eurovision when it's not in Europe?

-(Probably the hottest take here) While I consider the attacks on civilians by Hamas deplorable(of course), and I would not trust them with their anticommunism and probable anti-queer policy, both of which would mean I have trouble, I will remain adamant in saying that there is no hamas if there is no 'Israel', no occupation of land, and no nakbar; remove the occupying force, and the resistance fighters have nothing to resist against, and thus cease to be. If your enemy has committed their full energy to waving their Jewish identity about in front of the people they kicked out of their homes, of course you would develop anti-Semitic attitudes (of which were removed in the 2017 edition of the charter). In summary, their policy and popularity are the consequences of the material conditions they face, and that 'Israel' is the main culprit; Eliminate that, and the grounds for Hamas' Existence Collapse.
