In Islamic theology, particularly within Shia Islam, the concept of God's singularity and uniqueness is central and profound. The notion of Allah creating another deity akin to Himself would not only breach this fundamental doctrine but also raise profound paradoxes and contradictions.
Firstly, the existence of two gods inherently implies division, a concept diametrically opposed to the Islamic understanding of Allah's absolute unity and indivisibility. Such division would necessitate spatial separation between these two entities. However, Allah transcends spatial limitations; He is neither confined by space nor subject to its dimensions. This spatial aspect introduces a limitation, which is incompatible with the divine nature of Allah, who is boundless and infinite.
Secondly, the temporal aspect of creating a second god presents another profound contradiction. In Islamic belief, Allah is eternal, without beginning or end. A created deity, by contrast, would have a beginning – the moment of its creation. This temporal commencement would render the created being intrinsically inferior and dependent, in stark contrast to the eternal independence that characterizes Allah.
Thirdly, the act of creation itself signifies a relationship of dominance and subservience. If Allah were to create another god, this entity would be subordinate, having been brought into existence by a higher power. In Islamic understanding, Allah is the ultimate sovereign; there is no entity above or equal to Him. Thus, the very act of creating another god would contradict this principle, as it implies the existence of a being who is not the absolute sovereign.
Finally, the idea of creating another god would contradict Allah's own declarations of His singular divinity. Throughout Islamic scripture, Allah is consistently described as the one and only God, unmatched and unparalleled. To create a partner or equal would negate this self-proclaimed unicity, introducing a contradiction into the divine narrative.
Therefore, in the context of Shia Islam, as well as Sunni and other Islamic traditions, the idea of Allah creating another god like Himself is not only theologically untenable but also philosophically profound in its contradictions, touching upon concepts of space, time, sovereignty, and the very nature of divinity itself.

It’s the Islamic holy month of Muharram and as part of its observance fresh food is cooked daily and distributed to the devout. It’s is now close to 120F in Bahrain during the day but that does not deter these men (and women) from being part of the effort. According to the Islamic Calendar, Muharram is the start of a new year and the first month of the Islamic New Year. It is one of the auspicious months among Muslims and holds a great significance. The month of Muharram is observed with extreme grief and mourning due to the battle of Karbala that took place in this month. During the Battle of Karbala, Prophet Imam Hussain was martyred mercilessly and that is the reason Muharram is related to grief, mourning, sadness and is critical to Muslims all around the world. #muharram #karbala #shia #imamhussain #islam #yahussain #imamali #allah #yaabbas #azadari #ali #yaali #najaf #hussain #imam #muslim #labbaikyahussain #quran #iraq #azadar #ashura #e #ahlulbayt #iran #yaalimadad #hussaini #bahrain #shianeali #arbaeen (at Malkiya, Bahrain) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cg4TVZ-stHnJjDMrRWfbgV9hT_ENHiMgOvMnus0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
