Gosh, those headcanons are SO Yami. He can definitely be obnoxious in a relationship. He will tease and taunt, but that's just how he showed affection. That's his love language. I can certainly see him calming down after a while though. It surprises him when he starts to settle down and be more serious. No matter what though, he WILL always protect you!

I think Yami would also be pretty handsy. He loves having his arm around you and isn't afraid to press kisses to your temple no matter who is around.

Yami might seem like an unconventional partner, but he is husband material.

Alrighty then Lyra! Lemme dig deep into my mind for some good ol' Julius and Yami content!

It got a little lengthy so I'll be putting the headcanons under a "read more."

Julius Novachrono

Realistic Headcanon: Has probably drunk Vanessa under the table. While in disguise of course. We know he's a sturdy drinker so maybe one evening while he was exploring the kingdom, he happened upon Vanessa at a bar and they had a little competition. Julius won and delivered Vanessa back to the Black Bull base.

Not realistic but hilarious Headcanon: When Julius got de-aged, his youthful body causes some headache for his adult brain. Like his taste buds. Julius usually didn't take his tea or coffee with sweeteners but in a the body of a 13-year-old, suddenly black coffee is too strong for him. Also, it's not like he could drink any problems away with a kid's body. He'd just die again, in a less epic way. He was stuck sipping on a juice box while Marx grilled him on paperwork again. (Not totally unrealistic but I think it's unrealistic to think that Julius' taste buds would be so sensitive that he can't drink tea/coffee at all after de-aging.)

Heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends Headcanon: Julius was originally the one to want to find a way to make "perfected" humans. He and Lucius were originally wheelchair-users. Julius didn't mind needing a wheelchair but he could tell it bothered Lucius a great deal. So he proposed that they find a way to restore their legs and even extend that chance to other people. He wanted to bring peace and healing to the world. It was Lucius who took things to the extreme, believing that the only way to attain peace was to make humans completely equal in all ways and control everything. Julius just wanted to help his soul twin. He just wanted to do good. But his ideals got twisted by Lucius.

Unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own Headcanon: Julius was Yami's legal guardian for a time. Yami was a foreign orphan with no connection to anyone in Clover. So when Julius found him, he was like "you're my responsibility now." Though the guardianship was only really on paper. Until joining the Magic Knights, Yami still lived in those ruins on the beach and kept to himself. It was that way partially because Yami snuck away while Julius was caught up with something else and partially because Julius realized he couldn't force Yami to be his kid and thus just left him be. Then, when Yami was fifteen and got his grimoire, he became an adult in Clover's eyes and thus his own legal entity. Thus, Julius' guardianship over Yami was over. Still, to this day, Yami is in the records for being part of House Novachrono. The money Julius saved under that name went to Yami and that's how he's not completely broke. (Also William is part of Julius' will and gets some Novachrono cash, but it affects him less as William is already financially stable.)

Sukehiro Yami

Realistic Headcanon: Sukehiro thinks in Hino/Japanese. All his thoughts, his battle strategies and jokes and such, all happen in the Hino language. And when processing what others say, he translates from English/the Cloverian language to JPN. It's fine when he's on his own or on a battlefield and not making banter. But in a conversation, he can appear a little slow as he always takes a few extra seconds to double process what's being said. Even after so many years in Clover. But he intentionally keeps Hino in his mind so he doesn't forget.

Not realistic but hilarious Headcanon: Rather than thinking Nacht and Morgen were the same person because they're twins, I headcanon that Sukehiro refused to believe that they were at all related until he was legit brought to their house and shown that they are in fact related. There are several factors to this: -Names. Sukehiro could've confused the name order during his early years in Clover so he thought Faust was the twins' first names (like meeting two Jakes) while Nacht and Morgen were their family names. -Their appearances. Sukehiro didn't know hair bleaching was a thing. So how could pale-haired Nacht be related to a guy whose hair is black as night? -Attitudes. He can't imagine a shithead like Nacht hanging out with a sweetheart like Morgen so it clearly meant they were raised under different roofs. Sure their ki could've told Sukehiro they were related but Yami could've also been denial. And when it sunk in that Morgen and Nacht were in fact related, twins even, Sukehiro accuses them of actively trying to fuck with him. When no, Sukehiro is just dumb.

Heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends Headcanon: Sukehiro could very well develop lung cancer in the future. Like, he smokes quite frequently from what we've seen. And if the incident of Lucius showing himself and disappearing Asta is anything to go by, then he chain smokes when he's distressed. On top of that, he's been smoking for about 10 years now. Maybe healing magic can be used to treat his lungs and prevent cancer but it's not very clear. So, worst case scenario, Sukehiro develops lung cancer and whatever happy future he has is short-lived...

Unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own Headcanon: Sukehiro killed his family. I don't care if canon says Ichika actually did it. I hate that. No way a 7-year-old could massacre at least a dozen people, even on crazy demon drugs. I say that Ichika went on a rampage and severely injured the Yami clan. But then Sukehiro was the one to finish them off if they hadn't already bled to death. That would explain why Ichika remembers seeing Sukehiro carrying a sword and with blood on him, because he finished the job for her. Ichika still carries a lot of the blame but like... Sukehiro should get kills under his belt.

Hiya anon! Of course, I usually only do 3 characters but I just went ahead and did the 4th one since these are short. I apologize the only one who has an “odd” gift is Yami because, well, I couldn’t really think of anything for the other’s 😅. But I still hope you enjoy~!

Yami:

• He probably had a hard time trying to decide what he should get you for your birthday.

• On the one hand he wanted it to be something unique, but on the other he wondered if he should go with a “safer” choice such as jewelry or clothes.

• After debating for a while he finally found the perfect gift for you! Or at least that’s what he thought.

• When you woke up on your birthday and went to the common area of the Hideout you were very surprised at the gift sitting there. It was a toilet.

• Yami explained how the one in your bathroom was old and looked uncomfortable and he thought you’d like a new one that was waay more comfortable, while the gift was certainly odd and unique, you had to admit you loved it and found it amusing, and you told him so.

Julius:

• Would probably talk to Marx about what he should get you for your birthday.

• He wanted it to be unique and something “you” but he couldn’t quite figure out what exactly that was, as there were so many different things that he could get you.

• Finally Marx told him to just think with his heart and that he was sure no matter what it was that you would love it, finally Julius thought of something!

• On the day of your birthday he came to see you and dragged you out of your room, when you asked where he was taking you he just said it was a surprise.

• Finally when you arrived at your destination, you were surprised to see it was a dungeon, when you asked about it Julius explained, with that excited look in his eyes, that there was a person with very rare magic in there and that he wanted to see it and thought you would too since that was also something you found interesting. While this was an odd birthday present, you told him you loved it because you two finally got to spend some alone time together!

Nozel:

• Nozel had wracked his brain the past two days as he tried to come up with the perfect gift for you.

• He knew better than to ask Nebra and Solid about it, so he asked Noelle what her thoughts on it were.

• Noelle was surprised that he had asked her thoughts on it, but began to list off a bunch of things that you would maybe like.

• Finally Nozel, as he thought about Noelle’s suggestions, decided on something.

• On your birthday he brought you a small box, you opened it curiously and found two small statues of you and Nozel made of his Mercury magic, he explained how he would keep your statue, and you his, so that way the two of you would always be together even if you were away. It was a little dorky, and pretty unique. You found it very sweet and thanked him for it.

Nacht:

• Would really have no idea what to get you, and he probably didn’t think too much about it.

• He figured maybe a nice dinner or some jewelry would work, but his devils and the Black Bulls said that he should get you something special for your birthday!

• So he sat and actually thought about it, what would be something unique and just “for you”?

• Finally he got an idea, and on your birthday he took your hand and said he had somewhere to take you. Not explaining until you arrived at a graveyard.

• He then began to softly tell you about his past, about Morgen, about how the ritual had gone wrong and his twin sacrificed himself for Nacht. You listened patiently, as he concluded telling you about his past you wrapped your arms around him and held him, this certainly wasn’t the kind of gift you were imagining, but you genuinely loved it as he felt comfortable enough around you to show this side of himself to you.

Yami is not super possessive, but he also doesn’t like it when you’re away from him. He’ll let you go on missions and such, but you have to return to him unscathed. (You’re in the Black Bulls by the way, he made sure you transferred to his knights after falling for you. How could he make sure you come home otherwise?)

He doesn’t necessarily enjoy injuring you, but he won’t hesitate to do so if he needs to, especially if you misbehave. A broken arm will heal, right? You just gotta surpass your limits to get better according to him.

Speaking of surpassing your limits, Yami wants you to be strong. A weak partner isn’t for him, so he’s gonna make sure you train everyday. No matter how much you complain or even if your magic runs out, he’s gonna make you work. If it wasn’t for Charmy you wouldn’t be sure how you’re surviving this.

He has no problem using intimidation on you or anyone who may get too close to you, including the Black Bulls.

Since he’s a hot headed man, he gets snappy very fast if you complain in any sort of way about your circumstances. You’re in a magic knight squad with unlimited food and job opportunities, plus Yami is there with you, so what’s the problem?

He does have a soft spot for you though. Sure he lost all of his money gambling, but he made sure to buy you something nice before he did. He also makes sure you don’t get too lonely if he’s gone. If you prefer female friends Vanessa and Charmy are there, and if you prefer male friends Asta and Magna will be there (Finral is not allowed around you because of his tendency to flirt).

Anyone tries to hurt you or insult you and they’re gonna be facing Yami’s wrath as well. He’s the yandere that’s like yeah I can smack them but you can’t.

Black Clover Cafe AU

Based on a silly little post.

(Note: I’m not actually that well versed in cosplay restaurant culture. This is mostly just a shitpost. For funsies.)

Secre Swallowtail is the owner of Black Bird, a popular butler cafe.

Men in crisp, black suits. Varnished wood furniture. Fancy European style tea sets and table settings. There’s even a glasswork chandelier. It’s your typical aristocratic atmosphere for a butler cafe.

The men working at Black Bird aren’t just dressed as butlers but they also are assigned certain attitudes or archetypes to play into. Some are just kind of an exaggerated version of their normal selves while others really have to enter a character.

Sukehiro Yami is a “bodyguard” butler. A lot of his lines and mannerisms play up a protective persona. For example, he can ask to put an arm around a customer to guard them on their way to a table. He is also actual security for the cafe and has punched a guy unconscious to protect the customers. He’s the most popular butler.

Asta is the clumsy, “new hire” butler. He’s supposed to act meek and apologetic as he tries extra hard to serve customers. Also he’s not actually allowed to drop anything. At most he can bump into a chair or table (but NEVER a customer).

Finral is of course the flirty butler. Acting so suave for customers. He gives each lady a flower (never the same one twice in a row and they change with the seasons). His lines include him muttering “ah, but an esteemed lady/lord like you shouldn’t be seen with a lowly butler like myself.” Super cheesy stuff.

Gordon is the mysterious type of butler. He’s allowed very few “lines” outside of the standard “Welcome milady/master” or “As you wish.” It’s part of his charm, allowing customers to wonder what such a quiet, polite man like him is thinking. He gets extra points for being the only butler with prominent make-up (his black lipstick and eyeliner isn't as heavy as it appears in canon).

Henry is the sweetest of sweetheart butlers, the deredere if you will. He’s never failed to make a customer smile. Gives lots of compliments, similar to Finral, but with platonic intent. He’s also the one who writes the menu, making everything sound as delicious as possible.

Gauche is the harsh, “tsundere” butler. Instead of saying “it’s not like I like you” he would say “I didn’t choose to serve you.” 😆 But he always follows up with a small smile and “But I’m happy to do so now.” Also serves as security for the cafe.

Zora’s butler persona is meant to be a bit of a sadist. He gets to have a bossy attitude with customers. “You will drink this tea and you will like it” or “What makes you think I’ll take your order?” are things he might say. “Mocks” customers for how much they rely on him.

Nacht’s archetype in the cafe is basically a possessive yandere. Warns customers not to let any butler but him serve them and to appreciate all his hard work, because he only does it for them.

Fuegoleon plays an stern butler, not smiling and always insisting on his “duty” to the clients. He speaks very kindly to customers despite that. He has to fight back smiles because customers are so happy to see him and that makes him happy.

William is a straightforward gentleman archetype. Bowing and pulling out chairs, stuff like that. One gimmick he has is reciting poetry to customers. He’s the second most popular butler at the cafe.

Rill’s butler persona is haughty and a perfectionist. Always claiming his service and even those he serves are a cut above the rest. He also will occasionally play the piano to enhance the classy atmosphere.

Nozel is almost a blend of Gauche and Fuegoleon, stern like Fuegoleon and abrasive like Gauche but also displays an aloofness that neither portray. He's genuinely surprised with the popularity of his frigid persona. He was originally set in the “yandere” role before Nacht came along (and he’s very glad to be out of it).

Yuno isn’t a waiter. He’s too shy for it so he cleans up after customers (still dressed as a butler for aesthetics). Customers are really upset that he never serves as a waiter.

Magna and Luck definitely aren’t butlers either. They’re in the kitchen stacking and cutting sandwiches, as well as baking the various desserts on the menu.

Klaus and Marx are in charge of the drinks. Marx mostly works with the teas while Klaus focuses on the types of coffee they carry. There are non caffeinated drink options but the tea and coffee is highlighted as part of the aesthetic.

Jack is the head chef of the establishment. From the quiches for lunch to the pan-fried meats for dinner, Jack's got it covered. He's also got his fancy knife work which turns plain fruits and veggies into works of art.

Secre makes sure the uniforms get changed every once in a while to match the season.

Each employee actually goes by a different name while at work to protect their identities. That goes for the kitchen staff too despite never being seen in the front of house.

Nacht actually has extra identity protection by wearing a wig since outside of work, he’s actually still bleaching his hair like a delinquent.

Also, each employee has a “signature dish” on the menu based on their butler persona and a food they actually like.

• She kind of just stood there shocked for a while trying to process what she had just seen.

• After a red faced Nozel began to explain how he and Vanessa got together Noelle began to understand why they were keeping it a secret; their relationship was still new and they were still trying to get to know each other.

• Her face would get a little pink in embarrassment as she thought about her friend and her brother dating, but she gave them her blessing and was genuinely happy to see her older brother finally allow himself to be happy as well.

Yami:

• Would be kind of dumbfounded when he also witnessed Vanessa and Nozel kissing outside the Hideout.

• He, much like Noelle, would kind of just stand there and stare at them for a little bit.

• But after Noelle said her peace and gave them her blessing, Yami would give his say as well.

• He’d probably ask Vanessa what she saw in Nozel and tell her that she could do better, much to Nozel’s irritation. But Vanessa would know the Captain’s protective of his squad and its members and wouldn’t take it too seriously.

• After a bit more teasing and joking around he would tell Vanessa that, as much as he and Nozel disliked each other and had their differences, he was glad to see that Vanessa was finally happy and would offer her a congratulatory drink.

Finral:

• Would be just as shocked as the other two.

• He would have never imagined Vanessa with someone like Nozel, but then again there were probably people who didn’t see him and Finesse together so he didn't dwell too much on that thought.

• But what mainly shocked him was her dating Noelle’s brother of all people! For some reason it was like trying to imagine one of the Black Bulls dating his brother Langris. He shuddered at the thought.

• But he would congratulate Vanessa and Nozel, he would tell Vanessa that he was happy to see his best friend finding happiness with someone and would offer any dating advice or tips that she would possibly need.

• He also tried to give the best friend/protective brother talk to Nozel, y’know the one, “you’d better not hurt her or else”, but he suddenly got very intimidated by Nozel and his slight glare and ended up just saying he hoped Nozel would make Vanessa happy!
