I just came up with this slightly angsty but sweet idea about the platonic yandere madrigal family obsessing over a reader that's the child of Bruno.

-Pepa, Julieta and Alma would all be the most protective over them, especially if they looked identical to Bruno.

-Dolores and Mirabel would without a doubt be the best friends of them, Mirabel would know what it's like to feel like an outcast since the people most likely aren't treating the reader very well due to their relation to Bruno. I imagine Dolores would definitely be a great best friend too, she hears everything people say or murmur about them so I imagine she'd be painfully aware of how the people treat reader. Since she's also a platonic yandere in this like the rest of the family I can totally see her blackmailing people with stuff she's heard about them whenever they talk crap about reader.

-Dolores would definitely also be the one to comfort Reader as she can hear their crying from how they're treated every night.

-Bruno would definitely watch over his child in secret, he'd never want to miss even a second of their life

-Julieta would definitely fuss over their injuries, even if it's something like a paper cut. So would Alma and Pepa.

-Isabela would without a doubt nonchalantly roast the crap out of anybody that dares to to think it's a good idea to talk crap about you to her. She'd do it with a tone in her voice that says "I'm better than you and you should know that" all the while subtly roasting them in the process. They'd never recover from it lmao

-Camilo would definitely do his best to make them laugh whenever they're feeling down, he'd shapeshift into various people and do funny impressions of them

-Antonio would be absolutely adorable, he'd totally get his animals to comfort Reader whenever they're feeling down, too.

-I can see Luisa just randomly picking up reader whenever there's a puddle so they won't have to step in the puddle lol.

Yandere Bruno Madrigal Headcanons (Platonic)

Bruno never wanted to leave you, that was the last thing he ever thought he would have to do but in his eyes it was for the best. So, he left. He left for Mirabel, for the family, but most importantly he left for you. He didn’t want you to have to grow up with the stigma of having him as your father. But that’s what would happen anyway.

He couldn’t actually bring himself to leave the family, especially not you. He loved his family after all and he loved you the most. So, he stayed in the walls; living, watching, wishing. He didn’t want to miss a second of seeing his child grow up and be their own person. He just wished he could have been right by your side all the way through. He knew your mother would be watching over you, just as he was. As much as he missed and wanted nothing more than to hold his child in his arms again, Bruno believed that this is what needed to be done. He just prayed that he was still making the right decision.

Bruno would secretly love to see some of his traits in his child. Whether it be them being overly superstitious, or having interest in acting, or maybe even a liking of rats. It would really show just how much they were like him. You were his, through and through.

It would really hurt him to know that the villagers treated you differently all because you’re his child. Even if you didn’t share a similar gift to his own, it would sadden him that the people would still throw you into the same category as him. He would blame himself entirely for everything, regretting ever leaving you all the more. But he would be so unbelievably proud of his child for baring with and not letting all the whispers and avoidance of the rest of the villagers get to them. Even if he did witness how truly affected they were when alone in the comfort of their own room. Seeing his child breakdown would shatter his entire being.

He would send his rats to comfort his child when they’re sad or upset. Or even just to check up on and keep an eye on you. They would come baring little gifts that Bruno had found or made himself. It was his own way of being able to interact with you and showing that he was still around. If anyone were to really upset you or hurt you in anyway then they would be getting a visit from some very angry rats and maybe, possibly, Hernando.

As tempted as he is to use his gift to know whether he and his child would ever finally be reunited, Bruno is too scared at what he’ll see. He doesn’t think he’d be able to handle the outcome, whether good or bad. Instead he would take to drawing little pictures of him and his child reuniting or him, his child, and the rest of the family all together. He’d rather have those then to know the truth.

It wouldn’t be all that surprising if Alma, Julieta and Pepa were very protective of you due to you being the last thing they have of Bruno. As much as they don’t like talking about him that doesn’t mean they ever lost their love for him and you just remind them so much of their Brunito. They weren’t going to lose you either. No matter what.

Julieta would be the one most likely to talk to you about Bruno, if you were ever wanting to know about your father and or your mother. She would be more inclined to take you in as her own in Bruno’s stead. She’d make sure you were well taken care of and that you felt wanted and loved. She feared you losing your way in the family too and that was the last thing she wanted. Julieta didn’t want to lose anyone else, not now, not ever.

Maybe Dolores takes up a close attachment for his child. She knows full well how affected they are by the way the other villagers act towards or around them, she can hear everything after all. Besides, she also knows that Bruno is still very much with them, staying as close as he can given his circumstances. Given her knowledge of everything going on, Dolores would want to help them as much as she can without giving anything away. They’re family and nothing would change that, not even them being Bruno’s child. When the rats aren’t there to comfort you, then Dolores will. That’s what family’s for, right?

When he is finally brought back into the family the first thing Bruno wants to do is apologize to you. He’s so sorry for abandoning you, for leaving you to deal with his stigma all by yourself. He hopes you can forgive him. He hopes you and he can start again, together, as father and child.

💚 Bruno was never blessed with children, unlike his sisters. They were lucky ones. Happily married, with their own little - well, not-so little, anymore - bundles of joy. Bruno couldn't help but feel a bit jealous. He'd always thought himself pretty good with kids. He could forget about all of his worries for a while as he told them stories, played pretend, partook in games. And despite his age, he prided himself on still being limber enough and quick on his feet to play tag with the younger residents of the village. Though, perhaps it had been for the best. Before his return, (could he even say he returned if he never really left?) he was a ball of neuroses and paranoia and anxiety. He wouldn't - couldn't - allow himself to raise a child while his mental state was in such disarray. It wouldn't be fair to them.

⏳ Now that he reintegrated back into his family and the village, Bruno had… Well, remained pretty much the same. But, he was getting better! He and Luisa had been helping each other learn to relax, Pepa had taught him some of her anti-anxiety techniques, he and Antonio collaborated with the rats to make new telenovela ideas - which helped take his mind off his worries for the future, and his other sobrinos (well, mostly Mirabel and Camilo) would drag him around the village, introducing him to the residents if the village and their friends. As it turned out, before she saved Casita and it's magic, Mirabel didn't really have many friends. Her lack of a gift left her overshadowed by her cousins and other family members. Upon saving the miracle, becoming her own miracle, she was revered and much of Camilo's friends became her own. It made Bruno well with pride. Mirabel deserved friends. She deserved it without having to save their family's magic and home, but at least now they could all see it. Surprisingly, Mirabel and Camilo didn't mind having their uncle hang around them and their friends. Bruno supposed it made sense. He still felt himself very much a kid at heart, never really "growing up" in the same way Pepa and Julieta did. And it was easy for him to relax and have fun, playing with and hanging around his sobrinos and their friends - acting as a older, responsible figure while also being someone easy to talk to and relate to. He knew very well what lots of kids go through. Feeling different, feeling cast out, not knowing your place in the world… And all at once, it hit Bruno. He did it. Somehow, he managed to fumble his way into being The Cool Tío.

💚 As he became more and more like the younger villagers' surrogate tío, Bruno promised himself to never have any favorites. Well, no favorites outside of his family… Well, okay, maybe one. You were one of Camilo's closer friends, almost always at his side, like you were his shadow. And for some reason, you began to really look up to Bruno, vying for his approval. You'd volunteer to listen to his ideas for his telenovelas and were there for every show. You'd try extra hard to be funny around him, trying to make both him and Camilo laugh. You came to him for advice, or to just talk… And you and Camilo liked messing with him, too. You had gotten him a few times, he'd admit. Camilo pretending to be you, the two of you running around him, laughing, pulling on his ruana as the two of you told him to guess who was who. The first couple times, he'd gotten it wrong - making Camilo rather smug and you burst into laughter, the two of you ribbing Bruno and poking fun. But, over time, Bruno knew you better. Your quirks and intricacies. The things you did when you were happy, sad, lonely. The shape of your smile, the way your eyes shone with emotion, the way you clasped or fidgeted with your hands. The small things that make you you. The small things that Camilo, no matter how good of a mimic he was, couldn't replicate. And he felt so happy, so full of pride as he looked between you and his sobrino pretending to be you, and was easily able to tell the difference. Which made Camilo switch back and stomp his feet, swearing that his tío had to have cheated somehow! But, it was your reaction Bruno focused on - the smile that erupted on your face and how you launched forward, pulling him into a hug.

⏳ And it was then that everything shifted. Clicked into place, like the fragments of his visions. You weren't just Camilo's best friend. You were like a member of the family. Like one of his sobrinos... But, that wasn't quite right. He had to share his sobrinos' attention with their parents and his mother. He had you all on his own, like you were his own- wait. Your parents. Where were your parents? Bruno hadn't recalled meeting them, seeing them, and he couldn't recall you ever mentioning them. Maybe they kept to themselves? It'd make sense, considering you never accepted Camilo or Mirabel's invitation for a sleepover… Butttt, just in case, Bruno figured he should ask Camilo himself. And the boy's answer was simple, "They don't have parents. They don't like to talk about it." And it broke Bruno's heart, knowing you had no one to look after you, living only and having to rely on the village as a whole to help you… But, it also made Bruno buzz with excitement, with happiness, with relief - you didn't have anyone to claim you! You… You really could be like his own child. His kid, and nobody else's. And despite it being late in the evening, darkness surrounding the Encanto, he set out to find you, in the small house (if you could call it that), that you lived in. Alone. He knew what it was like to be alone.

💚 In times like these, it was easy for Bruno to forget that not everyone had a family as big as his own. Not everyone had a family. The idea seemed impossible in a place like Encanto, but he was wrong. His whole body tensed with nervousness as he walked in the darkness. His fingers twitched with the need to cross for good luck. His hands itched, wanting to knock on the nearest wooden object, or to toss salt, or sugar, or sand over his shoulder. Or, maybe… Maybe he could get a quick vision. It'd be real fast, and he had everything he needed outside. Just to check. Just to be sure. That you'd agree and be his kid and you'd you'd happy and a part of his family, officially … But, no. He didn't need to. He didn't need to check. Clear skies. Clear skies. He doesn't cross his fingers. And when he knocks on wood, it's on the door to your house (so small, so tiny, so lonely, like his living space in the walls) to get your attention. Confusion filled your eyes when you opened the door, but he can see the smaller flecks of emotions. Tiredness. Loneliness. He pulled you into a hug, asking why you didn't tell him, that you were all alone. Well, you didn't want to be a bother. Why didn't you come over some time, they had plenty of room. Well, you didn't deserve to. And that made Bruno pull back, eyes wide and almost hurt. You explained that you weren't magic like him or his family. You didn't deserve to step foot in Casita, the home of the Magical Madrigals. Didn't deserve to take up space there, to eat their food, to sleep in their rooms. For a moment, all Bruno could do is stare. And then, he pulled you into an even tighter embrace. That you did deserve it. Mirabel didn't have a gift, but she was magic all on her own. Just like you. You deserved it. You deserved the world and more, he promised.

⏳ Bruno coaxed you to his home, gentle and reassuring when you hesitated to step onto the property. Until you do, waiting for… Something bad to happen. But, it never did. And Bruno was all smiles as he guided you inside, greeted warmly by the rest of his family. You have a full meal, and Bruno adores the way you lit up with joy at the company, the feeling of love and family from the entirety of the Madrigals. And, of course, Camilo is at your side the entire night, practically attached to your hip, overjoyed that his best friend had finally come over. Still, you couldn't believe it was true. You asked if Bruno was going to walk you home - but Bruno sternly insisted that this was your home now. In fact, he had the perfect place for you to stay. He guided you, hand in hand, up to his tower. You couldn't believe it, shaking a bit as you stepped inside the room of a Madrigal. Past the curtain of sand, Bruno's room had been changed since the morning. It was brighter, somehow more homey. And, not to far off, was a side room with knickknacks, and a 'welcome home' sign hung above a bed that was perfect for you. Casita had been busy. You let out a gasp as Bruno hugged you tight, cradling the back of your head. Tears escaped his eyes as he let out a shuddering breath, "Welcome home, mi tesoro."

✧General Yandere Headcanons✧ — Bruno Madrigal

Warning(s): Slight Self Loathing (from Bruno), Hints of Stalking (I guess?), Slight Clingy Behavior, Slight Manipulation (from the family)

He’s a pretty soft yandere compared to others and is not much of a threat to you if we’re being honest here. Bruno is, however, very conflicted with these growing feelings he’s been having. He knows he has immense love for you, but he noticed that something else is there besides that; and it scares him.

He has a debate with himself whether or not to look into this more with a vision in order to figure things out. On one hand, Bruno desperately wants to know if any danger will be present or not so he can just put his worries aside. However, as the townsfolk has whispered and muttered, his gift might just bring more chaos to the table. What if the vision is something you’d hate or it revolves around him somehow? Then you would end up distancing yourself from him. But maybe that would be for the best…

Like other yanderes who believe that staying away from you is the better option, but can’t seem to let you go (i.e. Qrow Branwen, Julian, Shane, Blake, just the self loathes in general but not Nagito because he’s a different case), Bruno tries to keep some space between the two of you. However, since he is regarded as the black sheep of the family and others are wary of his gift, it leaves him yearning for admiration/affection; which only gets worse when he leaves the Madrigal home to live in the walls. Isolation would take a great toll on this as his only company are the rats and the voices he’d hear from his family.

Bruno’s approach towards you is an endless amount of what ifs and some do scare him a little. The thought of you hating him at first made him think that he might be immune to after the comments about his gift, but it he learns after dwelling too much on it that something like that would break him. He lightly taps him fists against the walls to ensure he doesn’t jinx himself of the possibility. There is just so much going on in his head and he feels like the simplest of tasks, which is connecting with you, requires stepping over eggshells. Looking from a distance is enough for him.

Approaching him instead would certainly startle the man. Bruno does not expect this, but it’s not unwelcome in the slightest, especially since you chose to do so on your own. Perplexed, he wonders why you’d even come over to him and he does his best not to drive you away; pushing away any visions that race through his mind.

This man screams clingy yandere, but he’s not going to be too forceful about it since Bruno isn’t too selfish and respects your personal space. Once he had you, there will be lots of cuddles, hugs, and hand holding. Just… Any form of affection is enough for him and being away from you leaves him a little distressed since his mind isn’t the nicest person to him in terms of worthiness. There will be times where he will ask if you still love him even under these circumstances just to give him assurance that he’s doing okay.

Sooooo, I’ve seen hcs on his family probably keeping you with him just as a means to make up for the years without him. Honestly, though, I really like that concept!They want him to be happy and he clearly loves you, so why not give him this opportunity of happiness? So, they try to convince you to continue staying with him because why not. Bruno is a charming, loving man who will work so much to keep you beaming with life. Also as a bonus, you’ll be a member of the fantastical Madrigal Family and honestly, who could say no to that? A wondrous family that will make sure your healthy, content, and safe along with a delightful man that loves you with all his heart! What more could you ask?

The Cursed Prince (Royal AU Yandere Prince Bruno Madrigal x reader)

The kingdom of Encanto was a prosperous and magical land that was blessed with three magical future rulers. The first was a princess that was said she would heal any wound, the second was another princess who could control the skies and the third was a prince who could tell the future.

Then strange events started to happen, it appeared that anything bad the prince said was going to happen did. Now the townspeople know that he could see the future but could so many bad things really be happening? There had to be a cause? Was there a curse on the town? Or just someone?

Rumors spread that all the bad luck had to be because of someone that was cursed and who else could that be but the one that says what will happen? The more the rumors spread the stronger they become until the townspeople demand something be done. So, the family decided to send the prince away to show that it would still be the same.

However, that was not the case, to the townspeople things really had gotten better now that the ‘cursed prince’ was away and slowly his family believed the same. Steadily the visits they made to his far away tower became less and less and soon he found himself all alone.

Years passed and the prince had become nothing more than an old wives' tale meant to keep children in line. However, the tale didn't stay in just one kingdom for the tale traveled to many lands including a small kingdom that was said not to be too far from the tower that kept the prince.

The royal from that kingdom grew curious as to if the tale was actually true or just another fairy tale. So, one night they went to the tower staying hidden in the shadows they saw a glowing green light in one of the windows. For the next few nights, they visited the tower until they finally mustered enough courage to call up to the window where the green light was.

The first time they called there was movement with the light growing stronger.

The second time was met with the light going out.

The third was met with more silence.

“I know someone is up there!” they finally called “I just want to know if you are real or not. If there really is a prince imprisoned here.” the last part they said more to themselves then the person in the tower.

Silence.

Just as they were going to leave a voice came from the window above.

“And what if he was?”

They looked up to see a figure poking their head out from the window but with the darkness of the night they couldn't make out anything.

“What would you do then?”

“To be fair I didn't think I would get this fair but I would start with a chat.”

The only answer they got in return was a chuckle.

For the rest of the night until the sun was barely over the horizon was filled with chatter of everything and anything the pair could think of and before the pair knew it almost a year had passed. Every night the pair felt as if they had known each other for their whole life. Each one started to hate the sun that made everything stop until it fell once more.

That was until one night when the royal came the prince could tell something was off. When asked they stayed quiet for so long, he thought that they had left.

“I am to be married and sent away with them.” they said, it was so filled with sorrow that it was as if they had lost someone dare and in a way they had.

“When?” was the answer after some time.

“In a month's time.”

One that night when the pair parted there were two things left behind. An ache and a need for what those two feelings would lead to no one truly know but one person.

It was the night before the wedding when the prince asked if they would like to come up. The royal was confused.

“But how? And why now? Why not before?” there was no entrance to the tower as far as the royal know for, they had looked for one many times.

“I… was scared of what you would think of me… if you saw me…. I know of the rumors and I know that's what brought you here.”

As the royal placed their hand on the side of the tower as a sort of comfort there appeared a door. Opening the door, they stepped into a large room with nothing but a staircase across from the opening. The door closed behind them as they made their way to the stairs. After all this time they were finally going to see their confidante.

They could hear their heart in their ears as they made it to the top with nothing but a single door in their way. Taking a breath as they pushed the door open there in the room was nothing but a bed, a night stand and shelves full of books and a lone figure looking out the single window.

He didn't turn around immediately nor did he have to for the royal to embrace him. When he did face them, they both stared at each other for the longest time. They spend the night talking and holding one another. The royal was so caught up in finally being able to touch their late-night secret to noticed that the night ran much longer than it was meant to.

Of course, to others it was still the same and when word of the royal going missing reached the other lands everyone blamed it on being so close to the tower. Yet when they went to search for the tower it was nowhere to be found. The royal was never seen or heard from again and so became just another tale just like the prince had.

A warning to listen and not go out at night for you could be the next one that gets locked in the tower with the cursed prince.

Bugs Bunny (The Looney Tunes Show)

Although he is much more composed than Daffy, Bugs teaches the kid to prioritize fun over duty. Work and school play second fiddle to games and recreation. Bugs is adamant about telling off anyone who protests against his parenting style, taking a condescending approach to these people and hinting that his kid is happier than theirs.

Bugs is the type of dad who plays dress-up with the kid, and while he is at it, he gives lessons on how to trick others via different costumes. The kid is taught how to subtly manipulate and turn conversations, a fact that Bugs applauds and encourages. He is happy to assist in many of these schemes as long as they do not physically hurt anyone.

Lola thinks of herself as the kid's mother and acts like she and Bugs are a married couple with a child. She argues with strangers about her legitimacy as a mother and Bugs' legitimacy as a father, leading Bugs to salvage the situation by agreeing to take Lola and the kid to a family dinner.

Bugs is comfortable being seen alongside the kid in public, as he considers himself the father and a superb one at that. However, if the kid insists on a solo mission and Bugs gets concerned, he tends to follow the kid in drag and masquerade as an ordinary worker or civilian throughout the trip.

If Bugs were to meet the kid's birth parents, he would demean them and make it obvious that he does not care for their presence in the kid's life, for there is no possibility of Bugs renouncing his role as a father figure. He makes room for the kid to stay in his house and is more than willing to kick Daffy out of the spare bedroom to the couch.

Daffy Duck (The Looney Tunes Show)

Daffy did not have much of a father in his youth, and the few times that the man was around, he was neglectful and emotionally unavailable. As a result, Daffy has little to no idea what he is doing in terms of fatherhood but will act like he is an expert on the topic.

He claims that the kid's birth parents or legal guardians are hopelessly inept and should just hand the kid over to him. If a custody battle breaks out, Daffy relies on the collective funds of Bugs and Porky to pay the legal fees and refuses to drop the case until he exhausts the opposition.

Daffy is a bit of a deadbeat dad, as he spends most of his days lazing around Bugs' house. Many of his friends, such as Lola and Porky, are happy to watch the kid for a night or two or three, leaving Daffy with virtually nothing to show for his status as the kid's father figure. He sets a bad example and does not mind that the kid may follow it.

He lets the kid eat, say and do pretty much anything unless it inconveniences him. If someone tells him to better discipline his kid, Daffy throws away these criticisms like a pile of trash and insults whoever said it. To prove his superior parenting style, Daffy then gives the kid money that was first given to him by Bugs and says to go wild with it.

If the kid requires it, Tina finds herself doing most of the caregiving. She hounds Daffy about his lacking sense of responsibility and argues that he should abdicate his fatherly title if he is unwilling to put forward the effort. Daffy responds with the assurance that he is a model father, not caring to realise how much he is mirroring his own father.

Bruno Madrigal

Until he is welcomed into the family again, almost everyone thinks Bruno is unfit to be a father of any kind. They say he is dangerous, that he brings nothing but doom and gloom to those around him. It takes months before people on the street quit glaring at him every time he is seen with the kid in public.

Bruno himself believes that he is unsuitable for a long time and does not understand why a kid would form an emotional attachment to him. He approaches fatherhood with palpable awkwardness and hesitancy, often requiring the kid to initiate interactions beyond a simple hello and goodbye.

He becomes more open and responsive to the idea over time, and eventually, Bruno gathers the courage to introduce his rats. Bruno is overjoyed if the kid likes them or at least learns to like them, sending the rats to watch over the kid in his absence and offering to have the rats perform the kid's favourite program whenever the urge strikes.

If people continue to give him trouble for acting as a father figure, Bruno takes on a bitter attitude towards this prejudice against him. He complains about it in private and claims that he does as fine a job as anyone else. Bruno puts his foot down when someone discriminates against the kid because of him.

Bruno is willing to adopt the kid, but as for the kid's birth parents or legal guardian, he struggles to talk to them. If he or his rats discovers that they are mistreating the kid, Bruno declares that he is the new father and will not take no for an answer. He looks to Alma and the rest of the Madrigals for support if this evolves into a greater dispute.

You had been scared of what the future might of had in store for you, who knows what could happen? You could get killed, be homeless for the rest of you life, there could be many horrible things.

You had thought about seeing Bruno Madrigal many times, but you had heard some of the horrible tales about him. How a lady's fish had died because of him, a man losing his hair, a man growing a gut, and also he made it rain on his sisters wedding day. You didn't like the thought of something like that happening to you, you just couldn't risk it.

Unknowingly Bruno had been stalking observing you, for quite some time. He knew everything about you, and honestly it hurt you didn't want to see him, because of these stupid untrue story's. Bruno wished these things would just fade about him, but no, it was always going to be like this. Him always being the bad guy.

Bruno had to somehow get to you, he needed to prove that your were safe and only with him. All he wanted was you to be with him, to be loved for once in his life. And that was it.

So, he done the next simple thing, kidnapping borrowing you. He didn't have any choice, Bruno needed you. He needed to reassure you that you were safe. Your vision was faded and blurry, someone had knocked you over the head, and took you. "Are you awake?" You heard a innocent male voice say assuming to you, you groaned, "w-where am I?" you asked your eye lids only half opened, "you are in the walls of Casita!" was that who you thought it was, Bruno Madrigal? You knew something was going to happen, now you have been kidnapped by Bruno Madrigal! "Y-your the man that made all those curses happen!" you blurted out, "look kid, all those stories, they were accidents!" Bruno replied seeming slightly offended. "Now, I have heard about your little problem of being scared of your future and what might happen. But, i can fix that!" suddenly the scrawny man created a circle out of sand, and then he held your hand. Bruno's eyes turning a bright emerald green, making you feel a bit uneasy about the whole thing, things started to appear. W-wait was that you and him getting married? No, it can't be. The rest of the images, only showed you and him, wait n-n-no this can't be right can it? But unfortunately for you it all was gonna happen, and you couldn't do anything about it. Bruno suddenly spoke, "see, your fine nothing bad is going to happen to you, and your with me and safe only with me, " he told you in a possessive type of tone, but a hint of reassurance. "It's all going to be fine" Bruno repeated. Eventually you fell asleep, but you should still be worried.

So I'm not sure if you wanted either a platonic or romantic Pepa soooooo I made both but I hope you enjoy

Romantic: In this, the reader is the same age as Pepa, you both grew together in Encanto and while everyone had thought you would not get along due to how contrasting your personalities were, you got along incredibly well, while you had always been reserved with your emotions, the way that Pepa was so open with them helped you come out of your little shell, that is until Pepa got her gift and had to start controlling her emotions and hiding them away, so it was your turn to help her, this dynamic made you closer as the years passed and made you both rely on each other in some kind of way.

You both became incredibly possessive of each other, one couldn't talk to anyone with the other, especially strangers, who knows what they wanted from you of her, you honestly could never take it when she entered in a relationship with some new guy, and you had to admit it irked you that any time you got any kind of interest towards someone she would not only give you the silent treatment and get angry at you as you had betrayed her until you apologized and cut off any communication with the person, all while she went in and out of so many relationships, but of course, you didn't sit still during those relationships, you were the main reason most if not all of those relationships failed and when Pepa came running back crying, you would receive her with open arms.

But there were punishments, many, when you "betrayed her" and she was in a previously bad mood, she would stop seeing you altogether knowing that this was torture for you and even if you didn't know her entering so many relationships was another kind of punishment, although if she could get away with it she would give you some bad food to sicken you.

As for you, you would always console her after another relationship burned down at your hand, but you would also begin to tell her how it was all her fault, how only you could tolerate her, and stuff of that nature which if it wouldn't bother that many others, it was as if stabbing her in the stomach multiple times, and you would threaten her with the fact that one day you won't tolerate her anymore.

This became a routine for the both of you until a certain young man came to Encanto and managed to unintentionally charm both you and Pepa, he never even mentioned Pepa's cloud or anything and he never pushed you or demanded brode shows of emotion that so many even your family demanded of you, one night you and Pepa began talking about this charming young man and the way that you both not only thought that he would be good for each other, but to the both of you, the mere thought of him going away or ending with someone else was unbearable, but it is easily fixable.

Felix Madrigal, it has quite the ring to it, he will fit in just wonderfully.

Platonic as friends/siblings: For this part, I decided that Pepa will be younger than the reader by like three years, so you will have met little Pepa since she was a tiny little baby and due to both Alma and your mom being friends, you were both raised not only together but you would take an older sibling role for not only her but Bruno and Julieta too, but even so Pepa had always been attached to your hip to the point where you would have to ask Alma for help since you still had to get home.

You helped her when she started any relationship and was always supportive even if you thought the guy was a jackass, if only this behavior had been reciprocated, any time you began any kind of romantic relationship Pepa would throw tantrums and go as far as dirtying the person's image for you to stay away from them, even your friendships were not safe from her jealousy since she would take as much time as you had, making it hard for you to have any kind of social life, and even if you tried to explain to her that you would never leave her or even tried to set boundaries she would guilt-trip you like there was no tomorrow until you thought you were the bad guy of the situation.

Her punishments wouldn't be many, since you were her big sibling and she didn't want to hurt you, but breaking your things was another story, she once even teared the skirt that your late granma had gifted you for getting a bit to close to a guy and for trying to distance yourself form her.

You are HER big sibling and NO ONE is ever going to take you away from her, no matter what.

Platonic as mother figure: She met you when you had been playing with Camilo and she immediately fell in love with the brightly smiling child that you were, of course, she didn't snap for a big chunk of your life, but even then there had been small glimpses of not only a sort of obsession and overprotectiveness but also she slowly became very controlling of what you did, she always thought that a child should enjoy their youth and explore their surroundings, but she didn't want to see you hurt EVER, so the fact that you were not only prone to small accidents since you were always looking around for adventure, you loved flying away from the safety of her arms so much, she almost felt you were actively searching for danger, and the fact that one of your friends encourages you doesn't help, she will make you stop seeing that friend altogether and give you something that will sicken you and made you bedridden so that she can take care of you.

This won't do, even if she loves you curiosity for everything, you need her to keep you from danger, so she will, even if that means having to cut your wings, it is for your safety, can't you see that this is only because she loves you?

Yandere!Bruno Madrigal x Reader Headcanons

💚 Bruno treasured your friendship. His gift often felt more like a burden than anything, something that severed ties and burned bridges rather than strengthening them. He didn't know why he had been given this gift. Perhaps his inclination to superstition had led him down his path. Either way, his gift had, more often than not, inspired anger and fear from those who asked for his visions. Bruno understood. No one liked receiving bad news - but, hey, don't shoot the messenger, you know? Still, over time, Bruno could feel the resentment building within his family, within his community… But, at least, Bruno had you. Your friendship. Your… Love.

⏳ As the stressors pile up, Bruno knew he could turn to you. A shoulder to cry on, a warm human body to cling to. Your warmth reminds him of how little affection he'd received, dwindling over the years as more and more people turned away. Sometimes, he'd hold you and just break down, sobbing against you. And yet, it was nice. Nice to decompress. Nice to be with you. It was nice, more than nice, to sit atop Casita and watch the clouds or stars and talk about everything and anything. Or when you'd take his hand and run through the village together, laughing until you're out of breath. And, sometimes, he'd take you into his room - with you there, it didn't feel so empty. So isolating. In spite of his fear, you'd urge him to read the future - and every time, you'd react with awe and wonder, even when the prediction wasn't positive. Your excitement and happiness was infectious and Bruno couldn't help but feel overjoyed. He always felt like that around you. It was… Almost intoxicating. Addicting. Soon, he never wanted to part with you. But, that was only natural, right? You both made each other so happy…

💚 He doesn't go into hiding, at first. Not when he receives the vision of Mirabel, no. It didn't look good, of course, but he'd never think this future was the fault of his favorite niece (don't tell the others!) There had to be some other explanation. He'd… He'd keep it to himself. And you. Yes. You always helped him spin bad situations and predictions into something positive. You could help him. And… And, well, Mama had been encouraging him to settle down. If you felt the same, you could help Mirabel together, as a part of the family. For the first time in forever, Bruno was excited to seek out a vision. His hands shook with excitement and nervousness as he began to burn the branch and leaves, smoke forming and twisting around him and…! It's… It's horrible. Oh, God, it's horrible. How- how could he do this to you? He… Oh, they were all right! They were all right! He was a monster! He couldn't save Mirabel, he couldn't save anyone! But… He could save you from himself. He could, at least, do that. And when the sun rises in the morning, Bruno is gone.

⏳ Or so it seemed. Bruno still lived in the house, within the walls, now only having the rats as company. But, this was for the best. He'd protect you from himself and be able to save Casita from the shadows. After all, he's the one who received the visions. It was his responsibility to fix this, right? It would have been easier, though, if you stopped visiting the house. Stopped looking for him - around the village, around the house, in his room. Him following you around didn't help, watching you through the cracks in the walls… But, he couldn't help himself! Being in your presence, without being able to touch or talk to you… It was suffocating. His entire body itched to reach out and touch you. But, he could hold out. Could hold out until you gave up hope, gave up on him. Or, so he thought. Because you never did. You practically became a member of the family with how much you stayed at Casita. Being around you so often, depriving himself of interaction with you… It was enough to drive him mad.

💚 Days stretched onto weeks, then months, then, years. There's only so much Bruno can do to distract himself. He can talk about his woes to the rats, but it's not the same as talking about it with… With you. He tries spending his time making telenovela plots, one plot he particularly likes is about two star-crossed lovers who seemed like they were made to be, but one knows that he can't be with love because of his hidden monstrous nature and goes into hiding to- er, maybe he said too much, heh! It's so hard to think of anything but you. He had been good for so long. But, one night, he stops next to your room. Hears the sound of your breathing. His entire body burns from the lack of your touch. Still, after all this time, he wants you. Needs you. He lacked your presence for so long… He just wanted something. Something to sate him. Just this once, and never again. So, Bruno pushes open the painting in your room, stepping and ducking through the crawlspace and crossing his way over to you as quiet as he can. He kneeled beside you, slowly, carefully. He cups your face, thumb caressing your cheek. He leans down, burying his face into the crook of your neck, breathing you in. He trembles as he begins to cry. He missed you so, so much. He places a soft kiss to your lips… Before climbing back into the walls. Where he belongs. Best not to overstay his welcome.

⏳But, just as the walls of Casita keep cracking, the night was the beginning of the end. He allows himself to do it again. And again. And again. Just once more, he tells himself. But, it's a lie. You notice things going missing. You have odd dreams of someone looming over you. You awake feeling watched. An air of tension fills the entire house, only added by Mirabel's claims that something was happening to the magic. So, one night, you pretend to sleep. And you wait. You don't hear him coming. Silent as a mouse, and you didn't have Dolores' hearing. When you feel hands on you, your eyes snap open - and it takes you a moment to recognize the man above you. Bruno? Bruno was alive? You… You had assumed the worst when he hadn't reappeared. And… He apologized. Before his eyes and voice go dark, saying he can't take it anymore. He has to have you. His hands cup the back of your head as forces you into a deep kiss, groaning against your lips. He rambles and raves, telling you about how badly he needed you as he drags you into the walls, hand over your mouth. Within his living space, you see your missing clothes, locks of hair, knick knacks and keepsakes. It was all him. And the man before you, unhinged, tells you that he knows he's become a monster. The one he was terrified of becoming… But, now, being a monster doesn't feel so bad anymore. It's funny. All this time, he thought he was running from fate, only to be hurtling toward it… And that night, along with the cracking of the walls and the twitching of Luisa's eye, Dolores hears her tío's mad ramblings and your muffled screams for help. And she can't sleep, grappling once again with the moral struggle of doing what's right, or keeping secrets for the sake of the family.

Alma: I’m actually very fond of Alma’s daemon being a butterfly just because of the candle association? May just be me though.

Dolores: A bat! Bats have some of the best hearing in the animal world, I think they’d be a very fitting little dude for her

Julieta: Honeybee, I mean really now.

Camilo: I actually think a peacock fits Camilo better, they’re very showy and flashy (especially males) which fits with his more theatrical personality

Pepa: Some kind of frog or toad unfazed by her weather powers, perhaps?

Mirabel and Bruno: I actually really like the thought that Bruno and Mirabel are so family oriented that they both end up with unintentionally the same daemon form, maybe a wolf for both of them? Wolves are very pack oriented and will break off if they think they’re hurting their family

Luisa: Perhaps a lioness? They do tend to do most of the work in the pride, but they’re also gorgeous and sleep a lot when given a chance

Isabela: A doe, perhaps? Something elegant and graceful but also incredibly skittish, belaying Isabela’s underlying anxiety about her role in the family.

Ooh a butterfly for Alma! That would be a nice symbolism hey like some representation of her and Mirabel's connection. A paralel of sorts. And there may also be some symbolism regarding Isabela as well? Because butterflies depend on flowers and whatnot. Idk maybe i'm overthinking it.

And a bat for Dolores works SO WELL. Because they are cute, but also creepy, and imo Dolores is a bit of a creep (affectionate). Everyone is like yandere camilo this yandere isabela this but lmao Dolores was the one stalking and falling on love with her cousin's fiancé without ever talking to him lol. I love her.

As for Camilo, yeah I can see him as a peacock, but most daemons in the books were the opposite gender to their humans and female peafowls aren't nearly as flashy. Plus i mentioned parrots because they can imitate voices. Though maybe a crow/raven would fit better, then? And if we take into account the whole genderfluid Camilo headcanon, then a daemon of a especies with important s.exual dymorphism may be an interesting concept to play with.

Mira and Bruno... Mira and Bruno mira and bruno mira and bruno 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 ok anon so i LOVE the idea of Mirabel and Bruno having the same daemon i LOVE IT SO MUCH. But also Idk i got an idea:

what if, instead of settling between puberty and early adulthood, the Madrigal daemons settle when the children get a door at 5? Which would be VERY WEIRD because settling is associated with adulthood and, on some level, sexual maturity, so seeing a little kid with a settled daemon is pretty fucked. Alma has to make a point that her children are still children and should be treated as such. Their early settling is solely a result of inherited trauma and having to grow up too fast in order to keep themselves safe. Even if the danger is now gone, the fear and trauma still haunts the family and forces their daemons to settle early. The town quickly accepts this as yet another Madrigal thing, nothing to worry about. But Mirabel didn't get a door, so what if her daemon doesn't settle until she turns the doorknob at the end of the movie? THEN she gets her settled form. This represents 1) Mirabel being allowed to grow up normally, without settling unhealthily young to protect her family from a long gone danger, 2) Mirabel not having a clear defined identity, which gives her the freedom to be whoever she wants to be, and 3) Mirabel's daemon shifting around to match her family's whenever they feel like it. I imagine her daemon imitating Luisa's during Surface Pressure, Isabela's What Else Can I Do etc.

And yes her daemon could settle as the same animal as Bruno's but seeing as the point of the final song is about Mirabel seeing herself for who she is - wouldn't it make sense for her to have an entirely unique daemon? So i guess it depends on where we focus - Mirabel's individuality and the new beginning she represents, or her paralels with Bruno as the family scapegoat. I can REALLY imagine Alma (and everyone else) seeing Bruno in her and her daemon and feeling uncomfortable with it. They could even keep it a secret from her! The fact that she and Bruno have the same daemon 😭

As for Bruno's daemon... I raise you this, anon: The maned wolf. They look normal to us yeah but apparently everyone else thinks they look creepy and weird, a mix of fox and deer on stilts, oddly skinny with unnaturally long legs. Maned Wolves are associated with bad omens, when you hear them cry at night in the forest, and with witchcraft and the devil. There's also the tale of the Lobizón, a werewolf-like character: the youngest of seventh sons turning into an evil giant wolf every 13th of every month and needing to be put down. No joke a lot of seventh sons irl were killed because of this belief. But in reality, maned wolves are such sweet and gentle creatures. They are quiet, shy, elegant and graceful little guys i love them. Very skittish and fearful, too. They'd fit just fine in an alternative universe iteration of WDTAB.

BUT i don't think they'd represent Mirabel very well. So if she and Bruno have the same daemon, it may have to be something different, more associated with the scapegoat role? Maybe a rat 👀 Idk Mirabel just seems much more outgoing and confident.

Lioness Luisa :O i actually love that! Luisa with a lioness daemon. Though then again, there's the matter of daemon gender and SURE Luisa is quite gnc it wouldn't be unreasonable to think she may have a female daemon. But Idk if I want to bring it up in her case for reasons i will address in the following part:

So, Isabela. I DO like a doe for her. But - and this is an idea i just came up with - hear me out: Isabela hiding the fact she has a female daemon. Other than her parents and grandmother and MAYBE Bruno (and possibly Dolores because you can't hide shit from her), nobody knows. I'm thinking about her daemon being very quiet and submissive - both in species and personality. They literally never talk. Isabela is terrified of this secret coming out bevause same-gender daemons are associated with queerness, or at the very least, with something odd and strange and "unfitting". Not belonging in the image of the Perfect Isabela, the Perfect Granddaughter, Perfect Bride. Mirabel only discovers the truth when Isabela's daemon snaps at her. But in order for that to work, her daemon should be of a especies with little to no s.exual dymorphism. So YES i love a doe for her. But I also like this idea. Idk. Maybe some sort of rabbit/hare? A bird? But ahhh the doe is so beautiful. It seems so fitting. So aesthetically pleasing. So PERFECT. I cannot choose 😭
