i couldn't stand to lose you

pairing: momo yaoyorozu x gn!reader

summary: after you save momo's life, you finally find the courage to confess to her!

"momo–!!"

you rushed towards your classmate, a hand stretched out for her. just a bit closer. just a little faster. you had to reach her before the villain did! you had to save her!

momo had just turned her head to the side and spotted the villain, when you finally reached her. in the very last moment, you tackled the man onto the ground, activating your quirk and piercing through his chest.

you stared down at him, breathing heavily as you watched his eyes widen one last time, before he stopped moving. for a moment you just stared at him, realizing what you had done. but then momo's voice snapped you out of your thoughts.

"y-you… you saved me..!"

momo seemed shaken at what had just happened. she stared down at you and the villain, as you quickly got up and took her hands.

"don't look at him…"

you didn't want her to see that.

"just… look at me instead"

your hands wandered up and you now gently cupped her cheeks, smiling at momo. perhaps it was the adrenalin that was still rushing through your body that had made you this bold, but you didn't mind it. you probably should've done this a long time ago.

"i'm so glad nothing happened to you… i couldn't stand losing you..."

you slowly inched closer to her. momo blushed, realizing what you meant by that and what you were about to do next. she smiled nervously before closing her eyes. and just a moment later, your lips met hers.

when you pulled away from her after a few seconds, you knew you had to tell momo how you felt, while you were still feeling bold!

"i love you, momo. i have for a very long time now and i can't keep it to myself anymore. not when i almost lost you today!"

momo smiled and pressed a short kiss against your lips.

"i love you too, my hero~"

Momo x Fem! Reader

- Momo and you had been seeing each-other in secret for a few months now. Nothing serious, at least not yet. A couple of dates here and there with a bit of nighttime debauchery sprinkled in was your norm, and something you were both comfortable with at this point. It’s not like you didn’t want the rest of your friends knowing, but Momo had asked to keep it quiet until she was ready for them to know, well, that she was into women. You understood, fully ready to keep her secret until she felt comfortable. Which led to the two of you awkwardly acting as friends during training.

- It was a typical day with class 3A training at gamma. You had been paired up with Todoroki, and Momo was paired with Ashido. Occasional glances thrown toward you had your cheeks pinker than usual. Of course Shoto caught on, teasing you about being out of breath. (Ignoring Bakugo shaking his head and muttering something obscene under his breath)

- Momo and Pinky finished up their session, and took to the sidelines while you and Shoto took your places in the training circle. The more you flexed, the more Momo’s face was tinged rose, almost giving you away immediately. You had a shit eating grin on your face, knowing you’d hear it later on.

- Sometimes, you just really liked teasing her. Because she sure knew how to tease you, too.

- It was Bakugo who figured out your little situation long before anyone else. He’d agreed to keep your secret, and you would keep him to it otherwise his ass was on the line. You’d do anything to keep your princess happy, right?

Just to twist this a little - the old boss of the Yakuza is a blood relative of Overhaul, making Yaoyorozus related to him and Eri!

To be totally fair, Momo was pretty sure she'd have managed to graduate high school and become a pro hero before anyone realised who her family was. She would have - were it not for Midoriya Izuku. Her classmate wasn't top of the class academics wise (though, he was close) but he was incredibly good at synthesising information and making connections. It was a little intimidating!

So when asked to meet her behind the school after class, she probably could have been forgiven for being kinda confused. Todoroki, Uraraka and Shinsou were looking at her like they wanted her to spontaneously drop dead and Jirou and Kaminari were giving pinched looks to Midoriya. She was almost 90% sure he didn't have a crush on her - the 10% of doubt was caused by the fact that if literally any member of their class said something nice to him he went as read as a strawberry. Wiggle room.

When Izuku looked her dead in the eyes and said "I know Overhaul is your cousin - I won't say anything, but if you ever need help, I'm here." she almost had a heart attack. When she calmed down enough to reply, she couldn't help but marvel.

"Midoriya - you've looked into my family, haven't you?" He nodded, not at all embarrassed to be caught. "Then you know that were aren't. Unconnected."

"Your family has never expreimented on children and has largely kept to themselves. The Yakuza didn't survive this long by being flashy. I meant it when I told you I wouldn't say anything - you aren't villains." He gave her a sheepish smile. "Criminals are for the police, vice rep." She was, for once, really grateful for Midoriya's flexible sense of morality. She probably should have expected it when she heard about what he'd done to Overhaul, but. Eh, he was terrible anyway. Couldn't have happened to a better guy. Worse blood relation by far.

I think Shouto will eventually master the art of reheating food with his fire in a way it doesn't stay cold in the middle and goes toasted outside.

If you're still in U.A, then her love for you doesn't change. She still will be commonly seen with you.

But if you ever have a relationship with anyone, you'd best be prepared for some teasing on Momo's part. Of course, you'd get revenge when Momo has her crush.

When it comes time for her hero costume design, you make sure to help her out with creating it.

You're on MEGA PROTECTIVE MODE whenever Mineta's nearby.

If you ever got injured, then be prepared for Momo to be by your side with medical supplies and comfort at Flash-like speeds.

After the war arc, you and her stick together closer to make sure the other's OK. If one of you got injured, then the other one ain't leaving the hospital until they're OK.

Whenever your parents argue, you always make sure to help her through it in any way you can.

1a girls monopolize shouto time when they're on their periods because he's a personal heat pack but can also keep them from getting too warm. it is not at all uncommon to see shouto with his hand on one of the girls' lower stomachs to ease cramps in the dorms. because of this they're all really close to each other so he's always invited to their girls night. he really likes when they do his hair or paint his nails during those nights where they all pamper him like he does them. just. shouto being close friends with people outside his usual group <3333 he deserves the world. also whenever he's not around when they need a personal heater, momo will make heating packs and give the girls massages because she's the best class mom anyone could ask for

Will work on my Izuocha ask. But here lets talk about Momo. She had a powerful OP quirk and so much potential but is shafted bc she has to be Mineta's target and also an "eye candy" for the fans. I say this as there many, many nsfw works of Momo where...well you get the gist.

1) Momo can create anything as long she can visualize in her mind. She could have been s great ally and friend to Izu as I think she would have to analyse her quirk (would be nice Izu having someone who does analyses too and isnt seen as "creepy")

2) Momo is rich. Extremely so, so why is she a hero? I know is an unfair question as we dont even get the answer for the mc(yes we got a generic "I want to help" but like come on this could have been more explored). But like if she is not doing for the money...then why? What is the endgoal? "I want to be a hero bc...bc!" Every kid, to me, seems to just want to be a hero bc yes (makes make me think: is the mkt in this world is that strong?)

3) Why she is wearing that uniform? While I get the intention of Izu having a costume that is "cosplay for poor" Why Momo used that? Did someone made her mind?(can see Midnight here but I admit I prefer her as a dark figure rather "she is the best woman on earth") like I know Hori did for fanservice but is a fanservice that hurts the character

4) is it canon she has meet Shoto before? Fanon seems to say in fics "Momo and Shoto are rich kids friends" which I mean, make sense as she is a heir (we dont even know what her family does) I ask this bc...IF this is true, did Momo had any positive thought about Endy?

5) Her quirk is super OP...and while I dont think she needs a quirk awaken I do think she, a minor in possession of such quirk needed more protection ...which makes me think if she was to have protection...would be bc of her op quirk or money?

1. I would love to see Yaoyorozu and Izuku interact more! I think they'd mesh well, especially since they're both intellectual people. Could have made for some fun scenes.

2. Yes, she needs a goal! Some have brought up that she could be the result of a successful quirk marriage that wasn't as abusive or dysfunctional as the Todorokis and tbh I think that's my headcanon now. They do imply that every kid wants to be a hero, but the kind of person she is I feel like it should go behind childhood dreams.

3. According to Horikoshi, this was Yaomomo's decision. Apparently, she wanted to show even more skin to make her quirk more accessible, but they restricted her (realistically, it's Hori being a perv). The theme of her suit is supposed to be "functionality" I'm guessing due to the kind of person she is. But the way her costume is, is more of a hindrance than a help. I said this to @anti-katsuki-lounge but she has no chest protection and the bookcase on her back could easily break her spine if she falls on it. I also always thought it would have made more sense for her to have an open back instead of an open chest since her back would be bigger space than her chest and she ends up ripping her shirt to make things out of her back anyway.

4. Yeah fanon is gonna have to take the L here. It's implied that Todoroki was completely isolated. Endeavor didn't even let him see his sibling let alone other kids. I'm almost sure he was homeschooled and even if he wasn't, Izuku was his first friend. And him and Yaomomo don't act like they knew each other beforehand, at most they knew of each other because of the recommendation exam.

5. Yes her quirk is super OP. Tbh, what would a quirk awakening for her even look like?
