Totsuka: How's it feel, a little warmer now?

Saya: Yeah. Senpai's flame is useful.

Totsuka: It's helpful in situations like this.

Totsuka: …But I don't have much endurance.

AU where Fushimi actually IS a ninja. Munakata would love him so much more for it.

If Fushimi was actually a ninja Munakata would have wanted him even more, like as soon as he becomes King and learns that Homra has an actual ninja in the clan Munakata is like 'no, mine.' Imagine Fushimi is from like this long line of ninjas, Niki doesn't care for doing ninja things but his kid still learned all the skills (somehow I imagine him having a long running challenge with Niki where Fushimi keeps trying to ninja assassinate him and Niki keeps escaping death). No one knows about it until he tells Yata, Yata thinks this is super amazing that his best friend is really a ninja. When Fushimi joins Homra Yata probably ends up telling everyone but mostly the Homra guys are just like 'huh that's interesting' and no one really thinks much about it beyond that, Totsuka maybe tries to get Fushimi teach him ninja-ing for a week or so before getting bored but that's about it.

But then when he joins Scepter 4 the first time Fushimi is called into Munakata's office to discuss his current duties and give him his uniform and all that, just before Fushimi leaves Munakata's glasses shine as he's like 'oh yes...and Fushimi-kun...'. Fushimi's like 'yes?' and Munakata's glasses shine again as he says he has heard Fushimi is a ninja. Fushimi's like yeah so, maybe thinking Munakata will be disapproving or something, slightly nervous that he's going to be kicked out just as he's joined. Instead Munakata is like 'perhaps...you could show me?'. Ten minutes later Fushimi has showed off multiple ninja skills and he's starting to get the impression that Munakata is way too excited about this.

So of course now Fushimi is really Munakata's favorite, he always wants to see Fushimi doing fun new ninja tricks. I bet he gives Fushimi an alternate ninja S4 outfit, just in case he needs to use his ninja skills during missions or something. At first Fushimi thinks he's being mocked but eventually he figures out that Captain is just a giant ninja fanboy who gets giddy like a child every time Fushimi uses his ninja skills. Munakata probably even asks Fushimi to teach him some skills and Fushimi's like those are family secrets Captain, Munakata's all 'I see' with the saddest little sparkle. Munakata also likes to be sure that everyone knows he has a ninja in his clan too, like somehow I can see him talking to Mikoto and mentioning 'my ninja, Fushimi-kun' as if this is very impressive. Fushimi tries to get Munakata to stop bringing it up all the time but Munakata is just too excited, he can't stop himself from praising his ninja Fushimi-kun all the time.

Hey . I really love your fanfiction about mikosaru. and I would like more of these. can you make a story where fushimi realize that he is pregnant from mikoto and they gave birth to a girl? I know this is very stupid .

Hmm so are we talking Omegaverse or trans!Fushimi in this case, since he's still a guy but can get pregnant? Just gonna go with Omegaverse here since I feel like it ^^ Like say Fushimi's an Omega and he super hates that, being told ever since he was a kid that he's 'lesser' somehow because of his genes. He also hates Homra and how it's full of alphas, Fushimi probably hides his status as much as he can by taking suppressants and such and only Yata is really aware. When Fushimi joins Scepter 4 he knows it isn't necessary to hide what he is but he continues to do so anyway, even if Munakata says it doesn't matter what a person is designated as Fushimi himself still dislikes being an omega. Of course then he starts having this whole secret not-quite-dating thing with Mikoto, Fushimi continues to act as though he hates Mikoto but he's also drawn to Mikoto in a way completely different from that of a clansman to a King. In some ways it's easier for him to deal with Mikoto now that he's not in Homra, like without that fear hanging over his head that he won't fit in here and that he's going to be kicked out he's suddenly able to speak his mind more and talk back to Mikoto in a way that Mikoto clearly finds more amusing than irritating. Things have been getting slowly physical and then one day Fushimi forgets to take his heat suppressants and ends up stumbling to Bar Homra sweating and with knives out between his fingers, not allowing anyone near him. He does allow Mikoto to touch him though, letting Mikoto take him upstairs and put him in the tub and Mikoto holds out as much as he can until Fushimi pushes the issue, desperate for the only thing that can ease the ache inside of him.

Unfortunately for Fushimi he's also not been taking any kind of contraceptives so soon after he starts to realize he's showing signs of pregnancy. I think Fushimi would totally hate being pregnant, especially knowing that it's Mikoto's child – for one thing there's no more hiding his omega status and now he gets to have all these idiots in Scepter 4 gossiping about the Homra traitor who can't keep his legs shut. And having Mikoto be the father, like look he's managed to find his kid two worthless parents instead of just him. I feel like Fushimi would at least seriously consider having an abortion, I think his childhood was traumatic enough that he doesn't trust himself to raise a kid and he doesn't want any of this, the responsibility for another human being and what if he does to this kid what his dad did to him.

He doesn't intend to tell Mikoto either but Mikoto sees him one day in the aftermath of some mission and Mikoto can smell it on him, Fushimi clicks his tongue and says he doesn't expect Mikoto to do anything stupid like try to marry him or anything like that. Mikoto just tells Fushimi that what to do is completely his decision, but if he doesn't want to deal with the kid he can always drop the baby off at Bar Homra and Mikoto will make sure the kid's taken care of, if it comes to that. (Ooh okay and then Fushimi does have the baby and decides he doesn't want anything to do with her so he really does drop her off at Bar Homra to be raised by the Homra trio. But then Mikoto dies some time after that and now Fushimi's all conflicted because he can't admit that this kid is now the only thing of Mikoto's he has to hold onto but at the same time he still can't get over that voice in his head that says if he raises this kid he'll just be another Niki and ruin her life like his was ruined.)

So this time lets say that Yata's dad is not a bad guy but maybe some powerfull strain who works for a goverment that's why he must dissapeared when Yata was a child. He suddenly come back and the truth is he sill loves Yata's mom, and she loves him as well. They spend a night together. After that Yata and his dad meet each other and mr. Yata said, that he was always waching Misaki and he is proud of him. Then it's come out that Yata's dad and Munakata are good friends.

Wouldn’t this just lead to a torrid love triangle between Yata’s dad,Yata’s mom and Yata’s stepdad XD Actually I’m just imagining all thisadult drama going on with poor Misaki on the sidelines trying tofigure out what the hell is going on. Or maybe Yata’s dad can onlycome back for like a day or something because his position is soimportant and secretive that he’s normally forced to stay in theshadows (oh imagine he’s not just a powerful Strain but what if hewas like a member of the Gold clan too and he’s their most powerfulsecret weapon, he provides intel to Kokujouji and is kinda likeKokujouji’s Fushimi). Yata and his mom never knew about any of thisthough, when Yata’s mom met him Yata’s dad was this normal guy whowas maybe only just discovered his Strain powers and was tryingreally hard to keep them hidden from his wife and infant son. Hispowers are really strong and probably involve like mind reading ormaybe invisibility, just something that would be really good for spywork. One day he comes home from work when Yata and his mom are outand the Rabbits are there, they take him to Kokujouji who explainsabout these powers and how people will try to target Yata’s dad andit might put his wife and son in danger if he stays with them. Yata’sdad ultimately makes the difficult choice to leave his family inorder to keep them safe but he always missed them. When they returnto Shizume after a long absence he stops by and watches them fromafar every now and again, just keeping an eye on them (and if we gowith Yata’s dad becoming a member of the Gold clan, maybe once Yatajoins Homra any time Kokujouji needs to contact Mikoto Yata’s dadgoes to the bar with one of the others in order to request Mikoto’spresence, Yata’s dad doesn’t say anything so that his voice won’t berecognized but he watches Yata silently the whole time from behindhis mask).

Then some time post-ROK Yata’s dad has to like leave the country tohelp round up people who were affected by Hisui’s releasing of theSlate, ones whose powers didn’t fade after it was destroyed (likewhat apparently happened to the Prime Minister). He’s still someonewho’s very wanted by various criminals because of all the spying hedid for Kokujouji but without the King there he’s able to get leaveto visit his child and the woman he loved one last time. Yata’s momis all shocked to see him, like he knocks on the door of the houseand when she answers she almost drops the tray she was holding. Theyend up just like walking together outside for a while, talking,Yata’s dad admits he still loves her but he might not see her againfor a long time while Yata’s mom says that she has a husband sheloves now but that also doesn’t mean she ever stopped caring aboutYata’s dad. She gives him one last kiss before he leaves, telling himto visit at least every now and again from now on.

After they part Yata’s dad goes to Homra to meet Yata. Maybe he wearshis rabbit outfit and Yata initially wants to know what one of theGolds is doing so close to the bar, that’s when Yata’s dad takes themask off and smiles at Yata as he says it’s been a long time. I thinkYata might be upset initially, like he was without his dad for solong and had all those issues feeling like he didn’t fit in with hisnew family and here his dad was alive all this time and never saidanything. His dad apologizes and admits he did keep an eye on Yataand that he’s so proud of his son, like he knows what Yata did tohelp destroy the Slate and defeat jungle and he knows how Yata lostone King and became a support for his new King and Yata’s dad saysthat his son became so strong while he wasn’t there. Yata’s all upsetwhen he hears that his dad has to leave again but this time maybe hisdad promises to write, saying he’ll leave his letters with a trustedfriend and Yata can stop and pick them up the next time he’s byScepter 4. Yata’s like wait Scepter 4 and that’s when his dad is likeoh yes Munakata-san and I are good friends, we have tea every otherweekend and Yata’s just staring blankly like what the fuck (and thenwhen he goes to pick up the first letter imagine Munakata trying tobond with him because as it turns out Yata’s dad is a very proud papaand has told Munakata a whole bunch of embarrassing tiny Yata storiesand Munakata wants to chat with him about it).

The Swan Princess AU! Saruhiko as Odette and Misaki as Derek :D

So say we have the neighboring kingdoms of Homra and Scepter, ruledby King Mikoto and King Munakata respectively. Munakata decides thatas a genius plan for uniting their kingdoms he has his son Fushimibetrothed to Mikoto’s kid Yata, Mikoto just goes with it because whynot and anyway his adviser Kusanagi was not totally against it so hejust went with it. Munakata and Mikoto decide to have their childrenhang out together every summer, hoping they’ll fall in love, exceptunfortunately Fushimi is an asshole and Yata has a hot temper andinstead of falling in love they spend a lot of time arguing. Severalof the members of their respective courts are concerned but Munakatajust smiles mysteriously and says he believes it will be fine, ashe’s noticed that Fushimi always gets very defensive about how hetotally doesn’t care about that idiot midget Misaki (and sure everytime Fushimi faints in the heat or gets a summer cold Yata ends uptaking care of him but that doesn’t mean anything) and Yata meanwhilealways goes back to his kingdom complaining about what an assholeSaruhiko is except maybe he’s kinda cool sometimes but onlyjust sometimes.

Finally the two are old enough to get married and Yata is instructedto request Fushimi’s hand except as he’s going to make his proposalhe overhears a few members of the court discussing weddings andkissing and honeymoons and Yata gets so nervous that hetotally botches it and tells Fushimi that the only reason he’s askingto marry Fushimi is because of the promise their parents made.Fushimi of course has been trying to pretend he’s not in love withYata for years and he takes Yata’s stumbling foot-in-mouth proposalas a rejection, which then causes Fushimi to mock Yata for being anidiot who would ever expect Fushimi to marry him because he wants to.They end up fighting, Fushimi maybe throws some kind of token Yatagave him when they were kids back in his face and then storms off tobe promptly kidnapped by the evil sorcerer Niki. Niki was once amember of Munakata’s court and is in fact Fushimi’s actual dad, whenhe tried to take over the kingdom using evil magic Munakata had himbanished but didn’t think Niki’s child should have to pay for hisdad’s misdeeds and anyway little Fushimi was so cute and clearly inneed of being doted on that Munakata couldn’t help but adopt him.

Fushimi’s taken to Niki’s secret lair, where Niki transforms Fushimiinto a swan so that Fushimi can be easily stowed away in the nearestlake and also because Niki thinks it would be funny to turn his kidinto a stinky smelly bird because Fushimi hates those. Grumpiest swanFushimi hates the stupid lake and all the stupid lake animals,including several alphabetically named frogs and turtles. He decidesto try and escape the pond, Niki decides it would be fun to mess withYata a little and leaks information to the kingdom that the one whokidnapped Fushimi was this animal shapeshifter. Yata and his friendKamamoto head into the forest trying to find Fushimi, Yata spots theweird grumpy swan and thinks for a minute that maybe it’s the evilguy who kidnapped Saruhiko and goes chasing after him. He followsFushimi back to the lake where Fushimi is transformed briefly backinto a human by the light of the full moon, Yata’s all thrilled thatFushimi’s alive except Fushimi is still hurt by what Yata saidearlier and the failed proposal and they end up fighting again.Fushimi chases Yata away and Niki just laughs because the only way toundo Fushimi’s nice new curse is a vow of everlasting love. Nikispends some time teasing Fushimi about how no one will ever love himwhile the alphabet frogs try to encourage him to go after Yata andadmit his feelings.

Meanwhile just for kicks Niki transforms the nearest toad into a fakeFushimi and sends him to the castle where Yata can make a confessionof love to the wrong person. Yata realizes his mistake too late andruns back to Niki’s hideout just in time to see Fushimi apparentlydie from the curse. Yata gets pissed and attacks Niki, with help fromall Fushimi’s animal friends he manages to defeat Niki at last andalso probably punches him in the face repeatedly. Then Yata runs backto the lake and cradles Fushimi’s body as he talks about all thethings he actually likes about Fushimi, about how Fushimi’sthe only one he feels like he can really talk to sometimes and howFushimi has the best ideas and is really cool and Yata actually doeslove him even if Fushimi’s an asshole. This confession is enough tobreak the spell on Fushimi and bring him back to life, Fushimi actslike Yata’s confession was going overboard but he’s totally blushingand soon Yata’s blushing and they’re both adorable dorks who proceedto live happily ever after.

Ok now I reaaaally wanna know (because I'm Sarumi trash I have no regrets) what if Saru isn't the only strain kiddo? What if Misaki is a kid strain too that Homra comes across trying to defend some kids against big bad strains and Homra adopts him. ((And maybe he meets kid Strain!Saru in a meeting between Mikoto and Munakata and oops Yata likes him now better look forward to some play dates with S4 in the future)). *whispers* I love all your content. All of it. Ahhh.

So say Yata’s a Strain and he likes to think of himself as asuperhero, like he can create energy blasts from his hands orsomething and he was all excited when he discovered it because itmeans he’s special. His mother is really worried though because shethinks if people find out about her son’s powers what if he getsimprisoned or kidnapped by someone bad or experimented on and shetells Yata never to use his powers in front of other people. Yatadoes try but he’s young and filled with ideas about heroes andjustice. One day he sees some kids being bullied and uses his powersto save them, the kids are all amazed and Yata makes them promisenever to tell about him. Kids being kids though it comes out soonenough and eventually these strong criminal Strains come looking forYata to force him to work for them. They start shaking down randomkids looking for Yata and that’s when Homra starts getting involved,this is happening in their territory and they aren’t gonna let peopleterrorize their neighborhood. Mikoto’s wandering around the streetswith Totsuka when they spot some kids being menaced, Mikoto moves tohelp them just as Yata jumps in and uses his powers against theStrains. The Strains are too much for him though and it looks likehe’s about to be killed when Mikoto steps in and saves him.

Afterward Totsuka suggests they take Yata back to the bar, Yata’s alittle traumatized by almost dying but keeps staring at Mikoto likehe’s this amazing hero from a book come to life. Back at the barKusanagi’s not sure what they should do, he figures if Scepter 4finds out about Yata they’ll take him in somehow or do something tobind his powers, Yata doesn’t want that but Kusanagi tells him theremight not be a choice. That’s when Yata’s worried mom shows up, shewas told her son was seen being taken to the bar by some suspiciouslooking people. Kusanagi is trying to calm her when Scepter 4 appearsoutside the building, demanding they release the Strain child intoScepter 4’s custody. Mikoto ends up going outside himself,confronting Munakata. Munakata calmly states that as the child is aStrain he’s under Scepter 4’s jurisdiction, Mikoto glances back at aterrified Yata huddling in the bar and tells Munakata that Yata’s oneof his and as long as he’s under Homra’s protection Munakata can’ttouch him. Munakata gets this mysterious smile like is that so butagrees to leave. Kusanagi apologizes to Yata’s mom, in order to keepYata safe so that he can continue to live freely he has to joinHomra. Yata’s all upset initially at being separated from his familybut soon he starts seeing Homra as his second family, like Mikoto ishis hero and everyone’s always nice to him and plays with him andKusanagi’s a lot like his mom anyway.

So then one day some months later maybe Yata’s out shopping withKusanagi and gets a little lost, he ends up running into tiny Fushimiwho got separated from Awashima. They start to talk, at first Fushimiwants Yata to leave him alone but Yata’s all ‘if we’re both lost weshould stay together!’ As they walk Yata can see Fushimi’s upset(because Fushimi’s worried that he didn’t just get lost he’s beenabandoned) and tells him a secret, that Yata has powers. Fushimi’seyes widen a bit and Yata assumes that’s because Fushimi is impressedwith him, being all proud of himself. Maybe they end up gettingattacked by some bad guys who recognize Fushimi as Scepter 4’s kidand both Yata and Fushimi use their powers to escape. Yata’s amazedto find someone like him and he thinks Fushimi’s so cool, he keepstrying to get Fushimi to come to the bar with him and he just wantsto be bestest friends with him. Fushimi’s a little bewildered becauseno one’s ever liked him this much before. That’s when Awashima andKusanagi show up, having joined forces to find their lost kids.Yata’s like this is my new friend Saruhiko and Kusanagi’s just likeof course our Yata would befriend Scepter 4’s kid. They end upsetting up play dates between the kids, initially Mikoto’s wary andmakes it clear that if Yata doesn’t come back from visiting Scepter4 there will be trouble but Munakata’s willing to allow Homra to havetheir way this time because Fushimi’s face just lights up every timeYata comes to see him.

So how about Oiran!Yata and Client!Fushimi? I think it'll be even more heart-broken because Yata is too pure to do this kind of job...

Maybe in this AU Yata’s like the child of a disgraced samurai and hisfamily’s really poor, Yata’s desperate to help his starving siblingsin any way possible and that’s how he ends up working as an oiran.Like he originally tried to find a job as a bodyguard or somethingbut because he’s short most people assumed he had to be weak and ofcourse everyone knows how his dad ran off with another woman andbroke his vows as a samurai, as that person’s child Yata of coursecan’t be trusted. He’s starting to fall into despair when he ends upin the pleasure quarter, the owner of one of the higher end brothelsnotes that Yata has strong muscles and a nice face and with sometraining might make a decent oiran, if he sells himself to that housethey’ll pay his mother a large enough sum that it will keep hissiblings fed and clothed for a little longer. In desperation Yataagrees, not telling his mother where he’s really going, and from thenon he works as an oiran. He’s not terribly popular because he’s a bittoo rough around the edges, like most oiran try to be refined and toshow off a variety of skills for the pleasure of their customerswhile Yata’s a bit more blunt and not as good at things like poetryor playing a shamisen, but there are several regulars who find himcharming. Yata probably develops something of a complex about thewhole thing too, like I could see him feeling ashamed about what he’sdoing and how he has to let all these strange men take advantage ofhim for money, but at the same time he’s able to send half ofeverything he makes to his family and knowing that he’s keeping themalive is enough for him.

So then enter Fushimi as Yata’s customer, dragged to the brothel byfellow members of the special police force that he belongs to.Fushimi has no interest in spending time with his coworkers andespecially not at a brothel, I can imagine him just cringing ifanyone tries to touch him and he’s glaring at the oiran all night inbetween glaring at his irritating coworkers. Hidaka thought thiswould be a great idea for team bonding and has no idea how close todeath he actually is, Fushimi can’t understand how he got draggedinto this. Then maybe Doumyouji gets a bit drunk and decides that youknow, maybe Fushimi-san would be less pissy if we got him laid andasks who the cheapest oiran in the place is. That’s how Fushimi endsup being shoved into a room largely against his will, mutteringirritably to himself as he waits for the oiran that was bought forhim to make an appearance. He’s acting annoyed but he’s actuallyreally tense and nervous, like thinking about letting a stranger runtheir hands over him makes him shudder. Fushimi’s still on edge whenYata walks in, looking as demure and obedient as he can manage. Yatastarts by pouring Fushimi sake and maybe Fushimi makes some snippycomment about how Yata’s awfully short for an oiran, Yata immediatelysnaps back at him like what the hell did you say asshole. He slaps ahand over his mouth, realizing what he just said to a customer likeoh shit I did it again but Fushimi just laughs and starts tauntinghim again, like are you an idiot who always argues back with peopleno wonder you were so cheap. They end up squabbling for a bit beforeFushimi states that the whole thing is stupid, tossing down a handfulof cash as he gets up to leave. Yata’s all confused because Fushimi’scoworker already paid and besides they didn’t even do anything,Fushimi darkly says that he has no intention of doing anything with avirgin prostitute as he moves to leave. Yata’s like oh yeah I bet I’mless of a virgin than you are asshole but then he realizes just howmuch money Fushimi gave him and is a little speechless, staringblankly out the door and wondering who that guy was.

Fushimi probably wouldn’t go back to the brothel again of his ownfree will so maybe say he meets Yata again the next time on thestreets, like Yata’s sent to run some errands for the owner and he’sin plain clothes so that Fushimi almost doesn’t recognize him untilhe hears Yata yelling at a shopkeeper. Fushimi normally doesn’t likedealing with people at all and at first he’s going to keep walkingbut he finds himself stopping and going towards the sound of thevoice, putting in some kind of snide comment once Yata finishesyelling. Yata’s like what the hell wait you’re that jerk from theother night. They start arguing and maybe at that point there’s sometrouble from like this rival military force that Fushimi’s group isin opposition with and Yata and Fushimi end up fighting side by sidefor a bit before making a run for it. They have to hide at one pointand happen to be near where Yata’s family lives so he takes Fushimiover for an impromptu visit, Fushimi (whose own family are a bunch ofdicks) finds himself all mesmerized by all the love Yata’s mom andsiblings have for Yata though he figures out pretty quick that theydon’t know Yata’s working as a prostitute. Afterward they’re bothwalking back together and Fushimi ends up asking Yata why he decidedto work as an oiran, not even really meaning to but the words justcome out. Yata’s quiet for a minute before he admits that he hatesthe work but if it keeps his family safe he’ll do it.

So then one night later on Fushimi gets injured on like a secretassassination mission and he needs a place to hide and heal, he endsup slipping into the brothel and into Yata’s room, having no ideawhere else to go. As Yata’s staring at him all shocked some imperialguards show up at the door to the brothel stating they’re looking forsomeone, Yata lies and says he hasn’t seen anybody while Fushimihides under his mattress. Fushimi doesn’t get why Yata would lie forhim but Yata just shrugs and says they’re kinda friends aren’t theyas he cleans Fushimi’s wounds. After that Fushimi starts going to thebrothel just to see Yata and he’s always very aware that everyoneelse assumes he’s just buying Yata for sex. Fushimi starts findinghimself thinking stupid things, like how maybe he could save enoughmoney up to buy Yata away from the brothel somehow, and even thoughhe knows that’s probably beyond him and that Yata could technicallybe taken away at any time he can’t stop himself from constantly goingto see him. (Then this lord named Mikoto who’s on the other side ofthe military conflict that Fushimi’s police force is embroiled inshows up at the brothel and takes an interest in Yata, Yata gushes toFushimi about how cool Mikoto was and how Mikoto might buy him andmake him a swordsman instead and Fushimi’s fists clench slightly,thinking that of course there’s no way someone like him could matchup to a lord.)

How about a Chobits AU? Like Yata finds persocom!Fushimi in the trash one night and brings him home and takes care of him and stuff. Munakata, the landlord just so happens to have all these cute costumes that are Fushimi's size, how lucky!

So maybe in this AU Niki was like a robotics engineer who worked fora giant tech company and designed persocoms in general but he foundmost models boring, like he thought it was amusing how many peoplegot attached to them as if they were normal people but they can’treally have emotions or show reactions the way a regular person can.Since Niki’s wife Kisa is too busy working to want to bother with achild Niki decides to make his own kid just for kicks, and just forfun he can do some experimenting on this program he’s been wanting totry so that he can make his robot child feel real emotions. It worksbetter than expected and Fushimi ends up having real human emotionsthat Niki can toy with freely. Fushimi is never allowed out of Niki’slab and as a result all of the painful emotions he’s going throughact almost like a computer virus to the point Fushimi’s starting toshut down. In the meantime though maybe Niki falls sick and ends upin the hospital, his workplace sends one of their other topscientists, Munakata, to check on Niki’s home and see if there areany corporate secrets that were left lying around. Munakata findsFushimi on the verge of shutdown and feels pity for the poor guy,while also being fascinated at this robot that can feel. He ends uppartially erasing Fushimi’s current memories, saving them in a cornerof Fushimi’s programming, and then shuts him down for the time being.Munakata then looks through Niki’s research and finds all this stuffabout being able to make persocoms feel emotion and he’s fascinatedbut at the same time Munakata can see that there are ways this couldbe abused and other persocoms could end up like Fushimi. He decidesto leave the decision in Fushimi’s hands, if other persocoms shouldbe able to love, and leaves the program sleeping inside Fushimi’sbody before dumping the deactivated Fushimi in the garbage andwaiting to see who will find him, if that person will be the one whocan teach Fushimi the real way to love without all the pain Nikiinflicted on him.

Yata meanwhile is this NEET who works a bunch of part time jobs inorder to afford rent at his apartment building that just so happensto be owned by Munakata. Yata’s on his way back from his job workingat Bar Homra when he comes across Fushimi lying abandoned in thetrash and he thinks he’s hit the jackpot, like Yata can’t afford afancy persocom and he’s not great with computers anyway so he figuredhe’d never be able to have one of his own and here he just ran acrossone abandoned in the trash. Yata drags Fushimi home and is all readyto wake him up and start using him, as soon as he finds Fushimi’s onswitch which I guess Niki put somewhere really embarrassing as a joke(wait if this is like Chobits with the ‘sex will trigger a reset’thing does this mean his on switch has to be in his ass XD). Yatapresses the switch and Fushimi’s eyes slowly open, he stares at Yatafor a long moment before clicking his tongue and asking who themidget is. Yata’s immediately like who are you calling a midget youfucking bag of circuits and aren’t persocoms supposed to obey theirowners. Yata quickly finds out that Fushimi is not like otherpersocoms and has a mind of his own, he’s constantly refusing to doanything for Yata and spends half his time just hanging around theapartment complaining. He also refuses to cook or clean but he’salways watching Yata do everything with weirdly intent eyes, likehe’s never seen anyone do this before. At first Yata thinks hesomehow got the world’s only asshole persocom but he slowly startswarming up to Fushimi too, like when Yata says that he doesn’t knowwhat model Fushimi is Fushimi admits that he doesn’t know himself andmakes a post to some persocom forum all on his own with all his specsand everything. Also maybe one day Yata takes Fushimi along with himto his part time job and one the way back Yata almost gets mugged,the guys want to grab Yata’s fancy persocom too but Fushimi glares atthem and the two of them end up fighting back together, Yata’s alsonever heard of a normal persocom who fights and beyond that they’reperfectly in sync, him and Saruhiko (Yata gives Fushimi his namebecause Fushimi’s only program that comes up when he’s turned on isunder the name 'MONKEY’).

Yata slowly finds himself getting used to his roommate/persocom, tothe point that his friends at Homra are getting concerned becauseFushimi’s just a persocom after all but Yata keeps talking like hehas real emotions. Yata’s certain that Fushimi does though, like heknows persocoms are only supposed to do what they’re programmed tobut Yata swears that Fushimi has a mind of his own and can feel, andthat sometimes Yata feels like Fushimi’s hurting and he’s not surewhy. Plus maybe Fushimi has flashes every now and again, especiallyif someone tries to hack into his programming where he turns reallybitter and nasty, laughing evilly as he threatens anyone who comesnear him. Yata’s boss Kusanagi sends Yata to talk to one of hisfriends, Totsuka, whose persocom Mikoto died saving his life and whoagrees with Yata that persocoms might have emotions and that hethinks if Fushimi and Yata start to understand each other that may bea start. Meanwhile Yata feels like Fushimi should at least be helpingout with the rent but Fushimi initially refuses to work because hedoesn’t feel like it, that’s when Yata’s landlord Munakata shows upfor an unexpected visit and is all 'oh, Yata-kun, you have aroommate, that’s extra you know.’ Yata states that a persocom doesn’tcount as a roommate and Munakata agrees to waive the extra fee ifFushimi helps him out with some programming work and oh as it just sohappens he has a bunch of cute clothes in just Fushimi’s size thatYata may now outfit his new persocom in. Fushimi glares at Munakataall 'I hate you’ while Munakata just smiles back.

So then one day Yata’s at his job when Fushimi gets kidnapped by somemen from the syndicate known as jungle, who are interested in rarepersocoms and saw the post Fushimi made wondering about his model.Jungle initially contracted Niki out about making a persocom thatcould feel and they want to take Fushimi apart and find the program.This activates Fushimi’s hidden memories and he goes all episode 5Saru, attacking them all with these knives that he has built in tohis body. All the persocoms in the city start sparking on and off andYata’s worried because he just knows that this is because of Fushimiand that Fushimi’s hurting somewhere, despite what everyone saysabout persocoms not being able to feel. That’s when Munakata tellsYata the truth about Fushimi’s programming, that he can feel emotionsand that maybe there are two programs locked away inside his heart,one that can bestow the ability to love on persocoms and one thatwill only give them negative emotions like fear and hate and ifFushimi feels betrayed or upset he’ll activate the latter one, onlyby meeting his soulmate and feeling love himself will he be able toactivate the good program. Yata runs to where Fushimi’s being heldand he finds Fushimi like suspended in the air by hundreds of cables,glaring down at him with cold eyes and asking what Yata wants. Yatadramatically declares that he think Fushimi’s an asshole sometimesand he’s picky and he never does what Yata asks him to…butFushimi’s also amazing and can do so many things and when he smilesit makes Yata’s heart skip a beat, and that Yata doesn’t care ifFushimi’s a machine or if they can’t ever have a 'normal’relationship, he still wants to be with Saruhiko forever. Fushimi’sbody suddenly drops to the ground into Yata’s arms as all thepersocoms begin to reboot themselves with the new program installed,all of them now able to feel real emotions like love and affection.Yata just holds Fushimi close and says he loves Fushimi and wantsSaruhiko, his Saruhiko back. Fushimi’s dull eyes sputter tolife and suddenly he’s looking up into Yata’s tear-stained facewondering what the hell Misaki is crying about this time and Yatajust yells his name and hugs him, repeating over and over again thathe loves Fushimi and isn’t ever letting him go again.

I love your blog so much, I've always wanted to send an ask but I've never thought of a worthy one before now. I love the idea of Saru smoking, and it'd be cool if he and Mikoto were secretly smoking buddies up until his death. Then maybe Reisi replaces Mikoto?

Imagine smoking being just like this random nervous habit Fushimipicks up early, like Niki leaves some cigarettes lying around andeven though Fushimi doesn’t want to be anything like that assholehe’s also a bit curious so he tries one out. He coughs and chokes alittle but he ends up getting used to it, like whenever he just needsto keep his mind or his hands occupied he can go have a smoke and ithelps clear his head a little, he can forget about all his millionsof issues for a minute and just watch the smoke curling from the tipof his cigarette. Yata thinks the habit is really cool when theyfirst meet and he probably tries to smoke too but maybe Yata’sactually no good at it, he just hacks and chokes and decides that hedoesn’t like smoking anyway, he needs his lungs clear forskateboarding. Fushimi still smokes from time to time though, usuallynot in the apartment or where anyone else can see him. Nobody inHomra is actually even aware that Fushimi’s a smoker until one dayFushimi’s just hanging out by himself behind the bar, like he wasbeing smothered by the family atmosphere and couldn’t take it anylonger so he slipped out unnoticed and pulled out a cigarette,figuring that maybe a smoke might help him forget the way Yata’s facelooked as he stared at Mikoto. He’s just standing there leaningagainst the wall when Mikoto suddenly appears in the mouth of thealley. Fushimi freezes, almost choking on his cigarette as hestutters out Mikoto’s name but Mikoto doesn’t even say a word, justpulling out his own cigarette and settling himself next to Fushimi,smoking. The two of them don’t talk at all but for once Fushimi findshimself feeling like this isn’t so bad, like that oppressive fear heusually feels when he’s near Mikoto seems almost dulled and there’snone of that nervous feeling like he should say something (like inSide Red on the park bench where Fushimi’s just scrambling forsomething to say), paradoxically it’s only when there’s smoke in hislungs that he feels like he can breathe around Mikoto.

From that point on the two of them are basically smoking buddies,whenever Fushimi goes back to the alley for a smoke he knows thatmore often than not Mikoto will join him eventually. SometimesMikoto’s already there and offers Fushimi a light and maybe Fushimieven goes from using like some cheap brand of cigarettes to usingMikoto’s brand because he gets curious as to whether there’s anydifference between those and his usual brand. After he leaves HomraFushimi figures he’ll have to curb the smoking habit but he can’tentirely so he just tries to find places to hide out and smoke insecret. He’s wandering the streets of Shizume one day gatheringinformation on a Strain when he spots Mikoto just standing there neara store or something having a smoke and Fushimi finds himself goingover there wondering what Mikoto’s doing there, like maybe the spotMikoto is in is also where Fushimi’s informant was supposed to be andinitially Fushimi assumes that Homra’s disrupting theirinvestigation. Mikoto shrugs though and says he’s having a smoke,offering Fushimi a light. Despite himself Fushimi takes it and theyend up going right back into the old habit, smoking side by side incompanionable silence. Somehow this becomes a semi-regular thing,that every now and again they meet outside of their respective clanterritories and just have a smoke. No information is exchanged and nohostilities, few words, just a cigarette and silent companionship andthe whole time Fushimi can’t quite bring himself to admit that healmost likes it, that maybe he (almost) likes Mikoto.

So then Mikoto dies and in the aftermath Fushimi’s just standingthere on the bridge watching everyone below while the rest of Scepter4 starts rounding up the rest of their members to go back toheadquarters. Fushimi starts to walk away though, making his way tothe far end of the bridge and lighting up a cigarette as he stares atthe fading red lights in the sky. He’s just standing there in thecold and the silence when he hears footsteps coming up behind him andbitterly asks if Munakata came to collect his wayward child and don’tworry, I haven’t gone back to Homra. Munakata smirks a bit and sayshe thought nothing of the sort, he simply came to tell Fushimi thatthey would be leaving soon. Fushimi nods and Munakata notes that hedidn’t know Fushimi smoked. Fushimi doesn’t answer but then whenMunakata moves to stand beside him Fushimi admits that they smokedtogether sometimes, him and Mikoto. Munakata doesn’t say anything fora long moment before finally saying “Myself as well, as ithappens,” and he pulls out his own cigarettes, asking Fushimi for alight. Fushimi raises an eyebrow, surprised that the Captain smokes,and Munakata just laughs and notes that he does indeed have hisvices. The two of them stand there in companionable silence afterthat, just sharing a cigarette and a memory and Fushimi feels itagain, that weird sense of comfort and companionship that he can’tquite name. After that he and Munakata end up smoking together everynow and again, Munakata notes that it’s a good bonding exercise andFushimi just rolls his eyes but he never turns down the cigaretteeither.
