So in a very unfortunate turn of events, I lost my last life in YDYD: O. I will not go into too much detail about my death, but it was by bees. Yes, bees. I was entirely correct when we started that I was there to party or die stupidly. And boy did I die stupidly.

Death history:

Was attempting to escape a zombie, skeleton, some lava, and fire while in a mineshaft. Death was probably likely to falling or a mob. (4/5)

Fell through the mob grinder (or harm farm TM) and then nearly did it again a few minutes later (3/5)

Creeper exploded through armor and a shield. It was near the mob grinder but did not originate from the grinder. (2/5)

Gained a life back! (3/5!)

Fell off the scaffolding that led to the top of the mob grinder where I was building a home at the time. (2/5)

Fell into a ravine near the shole (sheep hole/farm) (1/5 D:)

Last life: Lost to bees. No, I will not elaborate.

Because I am now a ghost, I will start taking screenshots and will try to assist in creating summaries for future sessions.

I like the directions YDYD and the Life series went

At the start it was like "we just gotta survive hardcore" but in their first seasons they started murdering each other.

In the Life series, the bloodshed just continued. It's mostly a pvp series.

But with YDYD they were just trying to survive in general lmao they live together and share resources, whether they like it or not.

YDYD Obsidian Server Interest Check!

So I commissioned a datapack to simulate the AU in Minecraft and now we’re (@thedeaddandy, @monarchisms, @lovelyachieve) putting out a poll to gauge interest in anyone who might want to play on a server.

So if you’re asking yourself: what is YDYD Obsidian? Look no further than the chronological tag list both here and here! If you don’t feel like reading all of that right now, at it’s core it’s a collaborative community AU that was started by @thedeaddandy and @monarchisms.

This will be in the style of YDYD and obviously there’s rules that come with that. Here’s a general outline:

-Hardcore Minecraft general rules.

-General Minecraft server behavior rules.

-Each player has 5 lives corresponding to a Tower of Pimps, the Tower being located at their initial spawn point and being immovable.

-Each death removes a gold block on the Tower.

-The gold blocks can be replenished by completing purple advancements or obtaining a Totem of Undying. The amount of gold blocks on obsidian cannot exceed 4 at any time.

-Once a player reaches their obsidian block, they can no longer gain gold blocks back and are now Obsidian players. They are on their final life.

-Obsidian players are encouraged to attack and kill Golden players (players with gold blocks).

-Once a player has fully died, their final obsidian piece is replaced by crying obsidian.

-(Optional) Last Tower Standing-in the event there are two players still alive (before or) after defeating the dragon, a fight to the death must happen. Players (or the dead) can decide whether or not the remaining amount of gold for each player matters. Ie, whether whoever dies first in the fight is permanently dead.

-The end goal of the run is to slay all “boss” mobs, being:

•Elder Guardian

•Wither

•Ender Dragon

yall i am a mess fr. to start with, i was so unsure about joining this. i hadn't watched achievement hunter in forever- was really only kind of attached to any content and all of this by proxy through dandy specifically. but something in me really, really wanted to play minecraft. and i really, really thought- why not?

i'm really glad i did.

i'm so grateful to have been able to play the game with yall and actually beat it (for the first time ever) with yall. this was all i looked forward to for a Long fucking time each week. this shit was so so fucking cool, you guys.
