Aghhhhh hello anon! Im glad you enjoyed my silly little post, that’s so sweet of you! Yea I feel like there’s so much going on with Idia (frankly with both of the Shroud brothers and their whole deal) that gets kinda bogged down by tropey perceptions. Like yes Idia is introverted and mostly opposed to interacting with people, but there are a lot of layers there. He’s agoraphobic, under-socialized, and painfully anxious. he’s scarily smart and prefers to scheme behind the scenes until he’s positive whatever he’s cooking up is fool proof (which I don’t think is an inherently bad trait) because things are easier and require less effort when there’s a script. freeballing social interactions with people and a broader environment you have no interest in connecting with is both taxing and in no way gratifying (in Idia’s mind, and in most cases). Its inefficient, which I also think is a good way of summarizing his attitudes towards social interaction.

He considers it pointless for everyone involved since he’s just going to disappear one day. Not to mention his upbringing and that hot mess of socialization, I think anybody would be fucked up from that. Plus his whole complex about his appearance and the fact that it’s not exactly been pleasant to just exist publicly. With all these factors in mind It’s important to remember that he’s the one who has decided he MUST be alone and that his fate is predetermined. In the name of efficiency/practicality and his sanity (while ironically undermining both) he just gives up before he’s even started. The world doesn’t end for the people around him, but he’s miserable and would be regardless. I mean he outright says so in book 6. The worst part is that he’s really self aware about it - he just doesn’t think he can change his circumstances or himself. I think the rest of his character really relies on that point. Honestly that’s what makes him so tragic and why I think his overblot is so interesting. It calls into question this focus on efficiency because it’s really just a bluff- as smart and rational as he wants to be, he’s quick tempered and honestly very emotional. We actually get to see just how far he can go with this almost martyr like philosophy because it hinges on his low self worth, but once someone he loves is brought into the equation, he completely jumps the gun. He may not see himself as worth saving, but for the one person he cares about/who understands him??? Who he believes he failed? Rationale goes out the window.

Anyways sorry for the little tangent there, I just think he’s so interesting and the incel trope really downplays the nuance there. He’s so smart but so emotionally driven despite being emotionally stunted and tbh I think that’s his downfall.

it just makes no sense, is extreamly anti-recovery, and to be honest it makes u a really insufferably annoying person. because when u aestheticize them and turn them into a cultural identity with a shared experience that is a fundimental part of who u are, u completely fuck ur recovery. because the goal of recovery is to lessen and get rid of as many symptoms as possible and learn to cope with the ones that remain. but if ur symptoms are what make u who u are, then losing them means losing a part of urself or even ur entire self. so instead ppl will steadfastedly hold onto those negative symptoms that are causing them and everyone around them harm and will attempt to justify them by saying "these are good actually because they're a part of this shared aesthetic identity of who i am and therefore are an innate part of me that can never change" and thats just a fucking lie. u are deluding urself in order to justify the easier or more "fun" option, even when its clearly wrong

autistic people can be on the aspec (sincirely, an autistic aroace with autistic aroace friends), like literally being autistic doesnt mean you automatically cant be aro/ace/apl just because theres the autistic stereotype about being "cold and unloving"

saying a canonically bi character is aspec doesnt erase their bisexuality, there are literally real life people who are both bi and on the aspec out there (one of my aforementioned friends is autistic, aroace AND bi) and i feel like theres a couple of people forgetting that and treating aspec people as if we all fit in this specific box of complete inability to feel any attraction at all

I think this break gave him the oppurtunity to focus more on his personal life and I think tom wants to have a balanced work and personal life (or even more focus on his personal life). Hes said before about dropping everything and getting married/having kids n disappearing, talked about doing another job and coming back to acting, talked about being more BTS in movies/shows (and seemed to enjoy being a producer and have aspirations of being a director) and talked various times about having kids. His comments, atleaat imo, tell me no, he may nt be as "active" as certain fans want cuz he wants to do other things or just chill. Could also be that he is doing stuff for a role rn that we dnt know about or he is chilling more sincr his gf will b filming n he wants to spend time with her, her family and bothh have time with his family.

Timmy/his team seem to b trying to transform him into a indie boy into a more mainstream, blockbuster type actor. Honestly, their doing a good job (project wise) with Wonka and the Dune movies. JE was known primarily for TKB, then his relationships, and now he seems to b doing well with his movies. Zendaya is actually in a league of her own....which is an honor and an accomplishment in itself. She goes by one name for goodness sakes. I mean, she got the LOUDEST screams of all during the Dune: Part 2 press in Brazil lol. Like, she's in a totally different stratosphere fame-wise than MOST people who are her peers in Hollywood. That's just a given.

But you're right, she's definitely had to work hard for it, and has dabbled in several outside "gigs" as well in order to supplement her income and keep her busy while she looks for roles that are worthy of her as a WOC in Hollywood. WE all know that HW doesn't give the best roles to WOC, so it might take longer to find roles that aren't so stereotypical, or "fluff" pieces, or those that want to "low-ball" you. 🥴

So yea, she's played the Hollywood game in her career VERY well so far imo. 😉
