a notification appears on my laptop, new grade from Ms.Garcia. shrugs and groans rung throughout the lecture hall, clicking on the notification a website pops up onto my desktop.

what were people so upset about, i thought to myself. my shoulder gets tapped by the person beside me.

“oh my god this old woman just hates me,” madi cries from beside me. i peak over at madi’s screen seeing a whopping 54%. i dont understand how that happens to a girl like madi, she was so smart and didn’t deserve that grade. i knew she didnt deserve that, i read her essay myself !

my hand lands on hers, “ okay that’s actually insane for you to be getting a 54, your essay was so good?!?”

everyone's head shoots up to the women below the many rows of seats, “so as you see at your grades only ms y/n got a good grade. i'm willing to let everyone else rewrite their exam and hand it in by next week if you do not like your grade.” the decrepit woman just packs her bag after saying that and begins to leave the room. everyone replicated her and began to pack up their belongings, including me.

madi and i leave the large space and stand in the hall just outside. “oh fuck, i promised nick id meet him after our class, ill see you later babes.” she ghosts a kiss on my cheek as i do the same to her greeting her goodbye. i grab my phone to check the time but to mostly look busy before i head somewhere else.

large footsteps creep up behind me and i hear my name being called. “y/n? thats your name right?” a man around 5’8 is standing in front of me. a little startled i take a second to reply.

“uhm yes that's me” i say replying to him. i notice his outfit, simple black cargos with a baggy sweater over it saying RANSOM with angel wings projecting off of the word.

“s-so i was wondering if you were willing to help me with the essay, you know, maybe study the material more?” he says while slightly looking down and looking very nervous.

“oh yea! of course i’ll bring over my notes and materials that i got from Ms.Garcia. does friday work for you? i have work tomorrow so i’ll be busy after class…” i cringe at my own sentence.

i knew who matt was, he was quite the popular guy and a social media influencer who made a lot of money. he didn’t have to exactly work a normal job like i did. although i don’t blame him, i’ve watched some of their videos and if i’m being honest they are pretty funny. i’ve slowly started to keep up with them ever since i was introduced to them by madi at an influencer party where she and the triplets got invited.

“mhm friday works, you can swing by my house, my brothers won’t be home that night. thanks for this by the way.” he says with his face softening, he definitely seemed more relaxed after i said yes.

“okay then! it’s a date- oh well not really a date, but i mean date as in like… oh you get it.” i trip over my words and finally take in his features. he has a beautiful jawline and scruffy that would feel so good on my-

he chuckles at my mishap “yeah it’s a date just lemme give you my number i’ll text you the address soon.” i present my phone to him as he begins to type out his phone number into his phone, naming his self matt s with a panda emoji next to it.

he’s still typing a little after he names himself, thinking nothing of it i just let him place my phone back into my hand at him as i wave to him bidding him goodbye.

i let my shoulders relax after i see him turn a corner and is out of my line of sight. god why am i so bad at talking to guys, that was straight embarrassing, i thought to myself.

thursday afternoon

madi and i met for coffee after our classes were finished, we caught up ate some small pastries and drank coffee, the usual. but once i told her about what happened yesterday….

“YOU WHAT??” madi says, nearly snorting out her coffee from her nose.

“i agreed to help tutor matt so he can pass this class” i repeat to her seeing zero problem with this.

“so you wanna tutor him, at his house, without his brothers home, at night.” madi tells me in a “matter of fact” tone

“well if you say it like that it sounds like i’m dancing with the devil over here.” i say sarcastically still not seeing the problem.

“you. matt. alone. even after what happened at the party?” madi retorts bringing up the party again.

“okay i still have no fucking clue what you mean by matt was eyefucking me at that party, i was enjoying myself and he was more or less just observing everyone at the party.” god just hearing myself make me realize what is happening.

“you know, just good luck and please don’t be so naive, i don’t want you to get hurt.” madi says in such a sincere tone.

“i’m glad you are at least okay with the whole idea of it, but i gotta go, i have a shift in an hour.” i tell her collecting my things, she stands up and ghosts a kiss on my cheak.

“kk love ya girl, i’ll see you tomorrow.” madi says waving me off before i become late for my shift.

let’s just hope she has at least a little bit of faith in me.

Since rewatching the guardian drama after reading the novel has made me mad about how bad and good both of them are I am Obligated to write out a list of what I think the perfect merger btw both versions of canon are. This will be in list format otherwise I’ll end up writing like 6k words again.

TLDR: the genre stays as supernatural from the novel and not Sci fi, bc that was rlly not fleshed out well. Shen Wei is a ghost king, and all the dixingren are ghosts or demons like originally intended. The ghost race naturally exists and wasn't born from kunluns shoulder fire or anything. They just exist separate from humans. Not all ghosts are former humans, some people are just born as ghosts, like Shen Wei. Zhao Yunlan has the guardian whip and all the cool stuff that comes with the Guardian order. Overall, i’d keep the novel’s plot and relationship progression and ending without the backstory. Instead the backstory is a merger of both canons. From the drama I’d keep the characterization and themes as well as like half the extra cases and omit the other half.

I’ll be elaborating much further on my ideal backstory and other stuff under the cut bc the rest is 1.5k and I don’t wanna clog the dash

Okay SO In my ideal backstory there are two timelines just like the drama but the mythology of the book. The god Kunlun is actually zyl that went back in time and became a god. But the one that went back isn’t the current Zhao Yunlan. There has to be an original timeline where the god Kunlun never existed. Thus the great seal nor the separation of the three realms don’t exist either. Zhao Yunlan must go back in time to become a god, meet Shen Wei in the past, and create the current timeline where the separation exists but isn’t perfect. The current timeline is the one that the majority of the series takes place in.

In the original timeline, Zhao Yunlan is just some dude living in a world where ghosts, fairies, and all other beings just live in a giant free for all and it's kinda just a mess.

Like there’s government in modern context and all and all races live with each other but there's constant tension. ZYL works at some equivalent of the SID (same staff and side characters, but novel vers. Lin Jing is a monk, CSZ a zombie, etc) to protect people and all that and their job is rather hard. One day encounters the thousands year old ghost king Wei (who isnt shen wei yet bc zyl gave him that name in the future) who works alone as like a rouge cultivator of sorts. He lives on the surface undercover as a professor still bc he’s trying to not catch Yezun’s attention but does all the stuff he normally does as Heipaoshi. The two ally together for a case and bc they both have the same goals of getting all races to live in peace. At current, there are forces working together to decimate the human race, all lead by Yezun

As they work together they become closer and all that. Shen Wei tells him about how he was unable to prevent the great war 5 thousand years ago and neither could the gods so he’s spent the past 5 thousand years trying to make up for it. As they search for ways to stop Yezun, they gather the 4 hallows and learn how to use them to manipulate time so ZYL can go into the past and stop the great war and separate the three realms (living, dead, ghost). Shen Wei wants to go back with him but he can’t because he was alive all those years ago so if he goes back it will create a paradox. ZYL promises he’ll find Shen Wei in the past and create a timeline where they could be together in peace (that is the current timeline)

When goes back he becomes the god kunlun because there needed to be a new god born at the time to prevent the war. Also this time traveller looked promising to Nuwa, Fuxi, and Shennong. And I know in the guardian universe gods are usually born and ppl don’t become gods. EXCEPT this can happen when a god passes on smth from their body onto them bc that did happen in the novel with Kunlun making shen wei a demigod. And since fu you and ma gui are supposed to be gods Nu Wa and Fuxi I think that when they die, they should make ZYL a god and that's how this stuff happens.

So like ZYL explains to the gods the time he came from and how he wants to save everything and they make him a god and he works to save everything just like he did in the drama but this time with the novel plotline. During this time he meets young Shen Wei (he’s still like a hundred or so years old) and they get close and all the stuff from the backstory happens. He gives him his name, all that good stuff. The entire time doesn’t let him know that he’s from the future or that his real name is ZYL. He just poses as kunlun.

The two of them alongside the other gods (who still die at the times they do in the novel) work together to end the war and establish the great seal and set up the cycle of reincarnation, per the current timeline. Although the seal and cycle of reincarnation aren’t perfect. Gods can’t reincarnate, and ghosts still don’t have souls. And just like the novel, doing all of this kills ZYL bc it takes a lot of energy to create the seal even though it isn’t perfect.

Shen Wei of course doesn’t want ZYL to die and zyl says it's alright because he fixed the timeline so there must One day they will meet again and ZYL reveals the truth about the timeline to shen wei before he dies. This becomes the promise that Shen Wei mentions to meet again. Before he dies, ZYL gives him the shoulder fire as a memento ( i still like the candy wrapper necklace deal but i’ll take this too. Maybe both.. The pendant is still just rlly cool.. Gay ppl)

Shen Wei knows gods can’t enter the cycle of reincarnation and still makes the deal with Shennong to strip Kunlun of his godhood and let him reincarnate. This sets us into the novel timeline where isn’t allowed to meet any of zyl’s reincarnations before he becomes zyl otherwise he will die and also fuck up the timeline. The same 5 thousand years of pining still ensue bc Gay Ppl and i love making Shen Wei suffer but he doesn’t have the shrine room thing bc i think thats weird and yea.. Bad.

In the meantime Shen Wei does a lot of things mostly just protecting the great seal and working for Hell to keep the peace but still does other stuff. He still watches out for ZYL’s reincarnations but doesn’t do much besides make sure they don’t die a premature death. They meet again finally at the beginning of the series and the timeline resumes like canon. And that's my master plan that merges both drama logic and novel logic while making a much better timeline. (I hope that makes some sense)

Da Qing is still Kunlun’s pet cat and important. Novel backstory applies to him. And I already mentioned him kinda but as for Yezun (Gui Mian in the novel) his deal is similar as in the drama but just a ghost. And he is a big player in the great war, he thought Shen Wei abandoned him as a kid but they were just separated. Shen Wei doesn’t know it's him till the end of the war and couldn’t stop him in the OG timeline and vows to bring him to justice and make amends. Shen Wei continuously tries to explain things to him but he just won’t listen and is imprisoned in hell bc yk… war criminal stuff and yeah he’s the main antagonist trying to break the great seal bc he’s still made about the past. Idk. Yezun wasn’t well written in the novel OR the drama so like… honestly he just needs to be completely rewritten and I don’t care enough about that. He can just be a weak villain idk

the drama characterization stays the same for everyone else bc found family go brr. However for Lao Chu i… hmm… i think he should still be a zombie but the reason he killed someone should be related to his brother. I like that addition and then shen wei realized his sentence was unjust and exempted him. i like that storyline merger. bc the brother thing and him admiring Heipaoshi was drama only. in the novel lao chu just murdered some kid for a rlly whatever reason.

uhhh in terms of the cases… id make adjustments to most of them. i think the li qian case should be like the drama bc the novel just had her as a murderer and it was boring.

For the mountain river awl one was fine… novel version was funnier and more interesting action wise tbh… rip zyl and his exorbitant flirting. uhhh the whole reveal that shen wei was the soul reaper thing was kinda… ehh in the novel but i did love the comedy of afterwards Shen Wei pretending he went into cardiac arrest when he actually just… has no pulse bc he's a ghost.

ID KEEP THE WORTH IT SCENE AND RAIN SCENE… THOSE FUCK SO HARD… I love the drama for adding those every damn day. the novel version of zyl losing his sight sucked and was sooo boring. Keep the drama version on that.

also id keep dr. cheng. i'm very pro dr. cheng and her friendship with shen wei it adds so much to his character imo. keep the fruit seller man and his wife for the merit brush..omg it adds SO MUCH the way the drama did it.. like the drams build up with the novels pace of that arc.. mwah. it felt like it dragged a bit in the drama but if it went faster and without the hospital ep and with sha ya (sorry sha ya) that would've been so good. tho keep novel version of da qings memory loss and lao li. that was rlly impactful.

id say keep some of the cases like the mirror one, the eyes doctor one, etc. just to like.. yk have more to fill in general.. novel pacing but drama characterization without the bs that wasn't fully realized. and novel ending ofc. And that’s it!!

I hope most of this makes some amount of sense but it probably doesn’t. In my head it all tracks but like ik most of u don’t know anything about the novel so this sounds like gibberish. Also I know this would literally never happen but this is MY ideal merger of the two canons that I feel compelled to expand on for some reason. Anyways, as io said,, we need to rebuild guardian. Like literally let me and the mutuals write Guardian and it will be 500 times better.

this show was one of the first times that i really felt like a piece of media "got" me, like something about it spoke to me personally. if i try to put my finger on it id say that its the really positive attitude it has on personal developement, like you may be a disaster of a person and a nervous wreck right now but if you identify what parts of yourself you want to change or improve and then seriously do your best on changing them.. things will work out. along with that its also important to me because thanks to it i formed some of my first real online friendships and that aswell is a source of many happy memories. mp100 is really precious to me

Hoshiai no Sora

fscshfj if youre following me rn then its probably because of hns and you probably already know how much i love this anime. a sports anime which i like mixed in with realistic character drama which i LOVE and has not only actual lgbt characters but ACTUAL DISCUSSION OF LGBT TOPICS which is like surprisingly rare even in shows that have lgbt characters and has a wonderful cast and deals with different types of families (some are happy, some are abusive, some are seemingly happy but have different problems, some are negligent etc..) and even without the second half this show has always been 10/10 for me I REALLY LOVE THIS SHOW

High Score Girl

i have consumed a... sizeable amount of romance manga/anime and this is one that really snuck up on me in the way that i didnt super love it right away but as it went along i began to realize how much ive started to genuinely give a shit about the characters themselves and not just their romance. anyway high score girl is about 90s arcades and two kids who love gaming having a very hardcore VERY onesided rivarly who eventually fall in love and then.. in short.. reality insues for the entire rest of the series. even tho this one is a bit too cartoony and slapsticky for me, beneath that it has a golden core of heartwarming moments, really true to life portrayals of kids and teenagres and a genuine love for gaming and AAA i adore this show

Yama no Susume

cute girls doing cute things HIKING EDITION!!! this one is definetly more chill and fun and less drama and character developement than the others up til now but still i really do consider it one of my favourites, the subject matter is something i actually enjoy doing myself (more casually ofc hdhd), the character interactions are really fun ESPECIALLY between the main 2 girls (my favourite running gag is them literally talking fo each other like an old married couple) and the artwork and animation is really beautiful. yea more simple than the others but i love it so much

(last one is a manga because while i do have other anime that i love and consider favourites i just couldnt decide which of them would go in my Top 5™... meanwhile this manga is something that i genuinely consider my favourite ever so it definitely needs to go here)

Yugami kun doesnt have any friends

ONCE AGAIN i have a big ol boner for realistic characters. the main character of this manga, described in 2 words, is "literally me", described in more words... yugami is the class weirdo who sits in the back all alone and is content being a friendless loner and is always doing things his own way and obsessing with his many hobbies and his behaviour generally just comes off as bizarre to his classmates. this isnt stated in canon but yugami is literally autistic like theres no denying it, and honestly his portrayal is just delightful to me. really the gist of it is realizing that there isnt anything fundementally wrong with yugami and he doesnt need to change in order to fit other people's idea of a "normal person", hes the nail sticking out that refuses to be hammered down. IM REALLY BAD AT SELLING THINGS BUT GOD I LOVE THIS MANGA SO MUCH

Her fingers bunched in Glynda’s shirt. They were drenched and cold and Glynda hurt so much inside for her—whatever had happened to Cinder this night had destroyed her, that much was clear.

The shower was a collaborative effort; Glynda inspected for injuries while Cinder sat in the tub, warm water pelting down on them both.

Glynda gently roused her own, pressing a tender flow of it through her palms, offering it to Cinder.

Cinder’s Aura was hollow and hungry. Her soul lapped up everything it was offered. Cinder leaned back slightly, like that would help the boost go through faster; or maybe like all she wanted was a kind touch. She didn’t look back. Slowly, the various cuts and scrapes that littered her body erased themselves.

She turned off the shower and stepped out, gathering up the biggest towels she had found, bundling Cinder up in one and fluffing her hair again. This time the white towel came away clean. Cinder peered out owlishly, her face a far healthier color despite the purple bruising that remained around her eyes, telling plainly of her weariness.

There was a gulf between them in the hotel bed.

It wasn’t at all like their nights at Cinder’s house. This was closed off. Distant. A thousand questions and answers hung unspoken in the air, heavy like the rain clouds themselves. The two of them were warm and dry, but not much else. There was little comfort to speak of.

Cinder, in her sleep, started crying again. It came and went in disconnected pieces, until she finally cried herself awake, startling out of her dreams.

When Cinder didn’t answer the question, Glynda held one arm out, lifting the blankets between them. “Cinder.”

Glynda didn’t know which surprised her more: that she had offered, or that Cinder accepted.

She settled quietly, face pressed into Glynda’s collarbone, her breath flitting warm over scar-marked skin. Glynda’s arm, curled around her back, weighed her down. Cinder did not hold on to her in return. She was folded up around herself, fitting into the space Glynda had made for her, taking to warmth and shelter like an abandoned child.

The fear was eating her alive, and bit by bit, her skin seemed to unravel, every layer of her body sloughing off into just meat, rent through by that light—it felt like teeth, like destruction, like being twisted apart in some giant’s hands like an insect having its wings pulled out. It held fury like she had never felt. She quailed before it, and it bared its teeth, black tar and grave-rot spilling from between yellowed fangs.

Glynda tried to close her eyes, to look away, to run away, but it seized her like a bear trap sinking its jagged teeth into the wrong prey, snapping a much more fragile deer bone with ease. It sieved her being out from between her ribs, drinking only the cacophony of her soul, lapping up every part of her inheritance—all the while she was fighting, struggling helplessly in its grasp, her mind mere shatterings of bright-red pain, with only slivers of meat and fragments of bone remaining of her body—torn apart by lances of sunlight, burning like fire, a dawn that came with the sound of a scream.

secondly: do i gotta say how i love how visceral this fic is? i say it like in every liveblog. BUT IM SAYING IT AGAIN FOR GOOD MEASURE. IM SAYING IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SasuHina Month Day 8- Mermaid

Hey guys, sorry i was inactive for a while, to be honest i struggles with this cuz i had a pretty meh idea in my head and i just didn’t feel like writing it but like 1 hour ago this idea came to me and i wrote it and boom i feel pretty good about this.

Also August has been so full for me, the first 5 days i was at that music festival as i said i spend like 20 hours a day there and 4 sleeping, if that, so after that i slept a full day. i didn’t even come home cuz i went to my friend and Uni colleague’s house for 4 days, i did most of my planning for what and how to write on the train to her house cuz it was a 4h ride. and after those 5 days at her house we came back to my house which was a 9h train ride woho...and she just left today. Before going to the music festival i changed the furniture in my room and now i feel so wierd being here alone. it just feels like she should be here as well and i miss her so much already. Oh yea and in 3 days i’m going to the beach for 2 weeks. Like i said August is hectic, but u still wanna write everything because i have a plan for most days. so i’ll post all 31 of them even if they are a bit late..

ANYWAY, that was a an update on my life i guess xD I hope you enjoy, Love Dia ~

Fantasy - Part 1

Sasuke

Everyone does thing they don’t particularly like, you wake up early and go everyday to school with people that you can’t wait to become part of your past, you sit thought awkward talks and weird situations cuz you can’t see an escape route. This last one is the case I am in, a weird situation, I am with my parents, my brother, his wife and their small daughter at Disney world because it is Kara's 7th birthday and she wished for the past 3 years to come here. Mom and dad got tired after the first 2 hours of wandering around; Itachi started feeling unwell and pucked twice after riding about 12 times the rollercoaster so he and Anko went to the pharmacy to get something to ease his stomach and they’re taking a small break so here I am stuck with my u year old niece who is dressed like a princess walking around the amusement park. Kara qas so excited for the first hour and she kept running around but got tired quite fast but Itachi carried her around in his arms princess style for almost 3 hours so she is once more full pf energy. Who thought that leaving a 22 year old male with a 7 year old girl I don’t know.

I am holding her hand as we walk around and all of a sudden she stops and screams so loud my ears start ringing; I can’t even find my footing and see what is happening because Kara starts pulling me to the far right and I do my best to steer her from hitting and tripping people over.

We walk through a tunnel that painted deep blue and as we get to the end the temperature drops and I haven’t realized how hot it was outside until this moment when it finally feels cool. The song ‘Under the sea' from the Little Mermaid is playing on repeat. I only know the song because Little Mermaid is Kara's favorite Disney movie and whenever I babysit her or just go by Itachi's the movie is permanently on.

“Sasuke look!” she says and pulls on my pants leg; she is behind me now and hides, looking shyly at a group of kids that stare at an aquarium tank. I don’t notice anything unusual until one small girl screams on top of her lungs ‘mermaid’ and a lot of kids move around and looks at her and I see it, or more like, I see her. In the tank is a real life mermaid, with blue hair and beautiful liliac eyes, she swims around and waved to the kids, smiles and them and when a mother holds her daughter a little higher over the aquarium she comes out for air and holds the girl’s hand.

“Can we do that? I want to hold hands with the mermaid…” Kara is bit a shy kid but now she looks overwhelmed, anxious and a bit scared yet very excited. She looks into my eyes waiting for my reply so I only nod. We walk to the tank and as we get closer a large group of kids pair off 2 by 2 and follow a lady who I assume is their teacher and another teacher is behind them so we are pretty much the only ones at the tank. Kara is still behind my leg, the mermaid is under the eater and swims around putting on a really cool show. Just the fact that she can hold her breath for that long is impressive. She looks towards us and smiles and waved at Kara.

I look at my little niece as well and I pick her up like the mother did and the mermaid comes up for air, crosses her arms over the glass wall and puts her head there and smiles big at Kara.

“Are you a real mermaid?” Kara asks and shyly touches her cheek. The mermaids smile boardes and she looks absolutely stunning, I feel lightning bolts shoot up my spine, she is so much more beautiful up close.

Hinata

I enjoy it more when there are smaller groups of people at my tank, I like talking to the kids and playing my character, so being alone with this little girl and her...father, older brother(?) is pretty cool, she’s so cute dressed as a princess and her eyes are big and full of innocence. She's also old enough to have a conversation with. I'd give her 7 or 8 years and I'm quite good at guessing children’s ages. She asked me if I'm a real mermaid, that is one of the most frequent questions. The tail I wear is very well made and it truly looks authentic and I take pride in my swimming skills and in the amount of time I can stay underwater without having to come out and breath, also behind the rock where u can’t see, on the other side of the tank you can go and breath air and the kids can see only tour tail so I tend to do that unless there is someone who wants to talk or hold my hand.

“Yes princess, I am a real mermaid” her smile is shy and so cute. She nods like what I said makes sense. I look from her to the man holding her and I have to stop a sigh, he’s so good-looking and he is staring right at me. I give him the same smile because I can’t break character, but his grin makes my skin tingle and I really want to touch him.

“Is this your home? Are you a prisoner here? Do you want us to save you?” She looks up worried at the man and he chuckles lightly at her questions. I'm a bit startled, I have been asked before if I live here but no one offered to help me escape.

“Can I tell you a secret?” I tell her and pull myself even more out of the water. She looks at me very serious and nods so I lean in and whisper in her ear. “You can’t tell anyone, but this isn’t my house, nor am I prisoner. I work here. When I get out of the water and I'm dry I have legs just like you do but when I'm in the water I am a mermaid, so I am here to help little girls like me and to talk with beautiful and kind princesses like yourself” after I finish my little speech I still don’t back up because I can feel the heat coming from the man and I also can smell him, he smells refreshing, like ice and mint but with something else that I can’t put my finger on but I'm willing to bet it’s just him, he smells delicious and very manly.

“I’ll tell you a secret too” The little girl says “My name is Kara and I'm not a princess” she looks at me carefully, waiting for my reaction. I only nod and smile.

“Well Kara, I am Hinata and I have to disagree, you are a princess. Being a princess has little to do with royal blood or fancy clothing, it is all about how you act, if you are kind and friendly, loyal and loving and good. I can see into your soul and you are a princess deep inside, never doubt that” Her eyes widen, and she smiles at me.

“Sasuke did you hear? I'm a princess” He smiles at her. I take in what she said, his name is Sasuke. She didn’t call him dad and he is too young to have such a big kid so I doubt he is her dad. “Can you see in his soul? Is he a prince too?”

I make a show of looking at him from head to toe like I'm considering her question when in reality I just want to check him out. After I've taken everything in I look back up at his face, narrow my eyes and look at his chest. I pull myself out even more and I lay my hand flat on his chest and close my eyes. I only now realize that I probably wet his shirt, but I can’t stop the show now. After a couple of seconds my hand can’t take it, just from touching him I feel a bit dizzy so I open my eyes and nod very serous to myself before looking back at Kara, I don’t look up at Sasuke because I am scared of what I'll see there.

“Yes he is a good soul, he is also a prince” Kara’s eyes light up and she looks at Sasuke with a lot of love and admiration, I finally look at his face because I expect him to stare and smile at Kara but instead his stare is on me so intensly, a lot of feelings hit me all of a sudden and I feel overwhelmed.

Sasuke

When she put her hand on my chest to “feel if my soul id good” I thought my heart will jump out of my chest. I can’t help but stare at her. I want to ask her when she finished work because something tells me we’ll still be here when she’s done, and I want to meet her. Or I want to ask her for her number, but I can’t do that in front of Kara, it would ruin the image Hinata painted for her character. Hinata...even her name is beautiful. Kara looks at me and asks me to put her down and says that she wants to take a picture in front of the tank as Hinata floats behind her. I take a few pictures of the two of them posing. I look around and see a smaller tank with lots of fish inside that is just a bit to the left, but far enough that Kara won’t hear what I talk about with Hinata. I also take a quick look around and see that it’s not very crowded so I don’t think new kids will come to Hinata.

“Why don’t you go look at the fishes for a moment, I want to talk to the mermaid about how I should act now that I found out I'm a prince” I tell Kara lamely, thankfully she believes me and goes to look at the fishes. I return to the tank and softly knock in the glass to get her attention; she is once again swimming around. When she looks at me and sees now kids around, she rises a brow and I just shrug. She comes out to talk to me anyway.

“You’re not supposed to it the glass. It says that there. She points to a piece of paper that is on the wall next to her. “Not respecting the rules is not very prince-like of you”

“Sorry I just needed your attention.” She smiles, for real this time not the fake-princess one she shows every kid; and for a moment I forget how to breath. “Thank you for talking so much to Kara, she loves mermaids whenever I babysit her for my brother Little Mermaid is all she wants to watch” I intentionally made it very clear that Kara is my niece so she wouldn’t think I was her father or anything.

“It wasn’t big deal. She's very cute” I nod, and silence falls over us.

“When do you get out of work? And can you give me your number?” I cringe internally. I'm better than this, I have mad game with girls but this one makes me feel a bit weird, like I'm off balance in some way.

She chuckles “I get out in an hour and half. And as for my number...how about we meet when I get out and I can give it to you then? Would that work?” she asks and I try really hard not to jump and pump my fist in the air in a “i-did-it" pose.

“Yea that works, cool.” I try to pretend like she doesn’t affect me at all but that’s a failure. “I’ll meet you here in about 2 hours?” I take into consideration that she probably has to shower and change.

“Yes, 2 hours is perfect. Bye bye Prince Sasuke” she says and goes back to swimming. I go back to Kara.

“What did she say about being a prince?’ she asks looking up at me and taking my hand to hold.

“She said I have potential but I need some help, so she offered to give me classes on hoe to be a good prince”

there’s not a lot I can say about s3 that hasn’t already been said (and articulated 200x better) but! here are some of my (albeit dumb) thoughts :~)

ep1 -isak leaning against the bathroom wall gets me EVERY time its such a powerful scene esp introducing you to s3 and tarjei..... spare some talent for the rest of us please -LiTeN gUtTeN fRa StRaNgEr tHiNgS -isak rly ties his pants w a shoelace...... -isak noticing even for the first time bc of his laugh.. whew.... also. i love this intro SOOO much bc its so non-monumental? theres no dramatic music or whatever but its not subtle.... like you know right away o shit love interest!! hello sir!! bc isak’s expression watching him :’) i could go on -isak is a bad liar HOWEVER this only applies to stupid nontrivial things e.g. the black sweatshirt. but when you look at him lying about like, his sexuality, he hides that shit well -”c00l” isak. i hate u so much -honestly all u have to do is look at even for .2 seconds and u can tell this boy has had a crush for a solid month bc he just looks awestruck (HOWEVER henrik’s acting is *chef’s kiss* bc its subtle enough to go undetected b4 you actually know eVEN SAW HIM ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL) -even isak and emma all sitting on the bench together is funny enough on its on but then a song called threeway comes on and like. julie sdshjsfdjfkjskd ep2 -there’s something so endearing about even’s handwriting idek what -i LOVE even’s video w mikael it reveals so much about him to us- how weird (ok we saw how weird he was w the paper towel thing but) and dorky he is? and his love of film! his view on love stories and how he sees the world :( but it also shows a lot abt isak because he saw even making stupid jokes about vladimir putin and was like yeah we about to fall in LOVE love -isak not using headphones to watch even’s video or r+j?? bde or general incompetence what’s the verdict guys -the isak watching r+j scene hits so hard like yall ever think about isak lying in bed at 3am staring at the ceiling probably thinking about how he’s never gonna get a beautiful world-shattering romance like that like ..... also him changing positions skam get out of my life go away ur too realistic -not to make this even more self-projection-y but isak simultaneously being the least emotionally vulnerable person ever but crying during r+j > -i made a post abt this already but even’s INTENSE staring vs isak’s “i have never looked anyone in the eye in my life” gets me it says so much about their characters -even said i see your bde move (asking me to buy you beer) and i raise u with my own (inviting you to my house after faking not having my id) -”if you listen to music” even is such a dick fsdjhsdff -when the message comes on...... i rlly do owe julie my life huh -”have you heard about my rapping?” “I have actually” have we talked about this enough????? 1. isak finally feels comfortable enough w even to flirt and his first move is to RAP for him jesus christ. keep in mind this is the same man who pulled that smooth af ibuprofen line w emma like...... 2. even has heard about isak’s rapping. either this means im-not-on-social-media even went out of his way to go thru homeboy’s instagram OR isak’s rapping is actually talked about. i- -the group chat messages. cant believe i forgot about the 2016 clown epidemic

ep3 -mahdi is a good friend and i love him. thank u -even wearing isak’s cap until he chucks it at him sjksfjsdjsd -how much yall wanna bet isak’s been listening to illmatic on repeat since last friday thinking abt even (even tho meeting sonja shattered his heart a lil) [also kinda an aside but i think a lot about how isak n even bonded over rap and how some homophobic lyrics in 90s etc rap might have impacted them? or how that little detail ties into julie’s story? e.g. halftime by nas, which is on illmatic] -whats worse. even staring into isaks soul wearing a size xs see-through white t shirt or isak staring at even for five (5) seconds before chugging his beer and immediately making out w emma. OR even crashing that party before it can start “i think you guys are bonding too much” cheesy ass shjhfsdhskdf -yall act like evak didnt invent hands. did even shaking isak’s shoulder telling him his apartment is nice mean nothing to u -im convinced robyn wrote call your girlfriend for this scene specifically bc how could anything fit so perfectly by coincidence -is anything better than egging isak on- even bech naesheim (2016) -idk if yall have read the scripts but i love the sock thing so much bc its soo true to how isak thinks and it makes everything so much more interesting and !!!

ep4 -i will never get over even sending isak bad seinfeld memes -even smacking open isak’s locker. first of all whew second of all u think as soon as he got into the stairwell he lowkey cried bc ow -parallel of isak saying “it’s 2016, why are you religious?” to sana vs. emma’s “it’s 2016, get out of the closet” to isak anyone :( -”takk sanasol!!!!” thank u isak for my life -I wanted to be with you aloneeeee -even’s face when he sees the pool like we get it youre a director -how many times do i need to say even is such a dick sjkfsd “does it look like i care about my hair?” “usually but not right now” like this would only work on isak i love soulmates!! -even just.. fully choking isak out ssdhgfd got em -when the first notes of im kissing you start ooh boy -even going in for the kill kiss and isak going from huh to oooo shit and pushing his lips out at the last minute. phenomenal

ep5 -ngl as soon as im not in love comes on my heart goes uwu bc like!!!! that song the meaNING.... them......... i jus love this scene sm like theyre in their own little bubble and they both feel so comfortable and at peace :(( -even leaving isak comics about an inside joke of theirs like yall mind if i scream -isak feeling left out from the conversation and his friends whew i felt that... and having them talk about how gross it is to makeout with a girl w facial hair?? blease :( -taking stock of isak’s nicknames: issy k, isabell, izzy, baby jesus, -im not even gonna bother trying to articulate thoughts on Pause bc it’s a literal masterpiece. thank u tarjei henrik and julie for inventing television with this one -MAGNUS SDFKJSDFJKDSHK "oooh my name is Jonas and I love idealism and reading klassekampen and I don’t like plastic and I skate on a skateboard made of sustainable wood and wear old clothes because new clothes are bad for the environment and I only drink recycled water” screAMMM -what i said abt pause also applies to pride ugh its such a powerful scene and!! the beginning of kicks to isaks stomach. honestly what i fucking love about this episode is how it goes from hell yea best day w even ever to crying in the street within one week (s3 had the best balance of angst and payoff thanks) -even’s Soft Party Flannel... forever tainted by this scene rip -not knowing why even kissed sonja keeps me up at night -speaking of. how used and stupid isak must’ve felt when he saw even completely unbothered, hooking up w his ex at this party?? whew :( -bros is one of my all time favourite clips solely bc of the music?? lift me up gives me chills and when hold my liquor starts i LOSE it -ep5 and 6 remind me of that quote “to see what your characters are really made of you have to break them” because julie rlly goes all in and god it hurts so good

ep9 -ive already screamed enough about cherry wine but god it fucks me up -cannot put into words how much I love eskild and how good of a person he is, he just has so much love in his heart -”wait they have waffles here? see ya” -this convo is why i love skam so much!!!! magnus giving insight and good thoughtful advice to isak was such a brilliant move by julie (also truLy heartwarming) bc like. magnus is a flawed layered character! he’s dumb and ignorant and not very careful with his words BUT hes also such a sweet guy. i genuinely dont think he would hurt a fly and him talking about vilde (in ep10) is ;-; bc he really likes her and respects her and wants to be a gentleman! hes so loving and just. yeah. also i wonder if isak and magnus (and vilde) ever talked about having mentally ill parents and lent on each other for support bc like....<3 [sidenote- this is why i HATE b***** like they absolutely massacred magnus’s character and magnus did not deserve that!] -det er bare slutt........ very cool of tarjei to invent acting here. also the character development makes me WEEP like at first isak lied and told his pappa it was over bc its easier to brush stuff off and say you were joking than be vulnerable especially about 1. having a boyfriend and 2. saying youve already broken up?? but then isak was like hey im done with lying about who i am bc i want my life to be REAL and he told his dad the truth even if it was hard and even if he was trying rlly hard not to cry -isak reaching out to even<3 standing up for even<3 -o helga natt. another scene i genuinely cannot comment on bc u cant really put into any written language how magical and breathtaking and heartbreaking and powerful and brilliant this scene is. so. -jk. obvs i cant say anything intelligent enough to give this scene justice but probably the most stunning piece of television i have ever had the privilege of watching. even’s text breaks my heart every gd time (esp since we never really see this side of him before finding out he’s bipolar? his guilt, insecurity, feeling like a burden, being scared of losing everyone in his life because he thinks he’ll hurt them). the music is SO beautiful i cry real tears as soon as the strings start. also the brilliance of JUST o helga natt playing and no dialogue except for isaks one line? isak’s realization when he sees the cross. him RUNNING across oslo to go to even. the FLASHBACKS all going backwards in chronological order until them smoking on the bench. isak looking at the bench and not seeing even and u can feel his heart breaking and urs breaks too! but then he remembers the bathroom and he turns and theres even and whewwww. du er ikke alene<3

ep10 -minutt for minutt is THE most healing clip im telling u. and like.. seeing even depressed really is hard and as someone who was very very depressed for 4-ish yrs of their life it rlly hits me? like when youre in an especially bad funk and you cant get out of bed and youre just numb and exhausted and feel so shitty and u want to be alone but you really dont???? could go on but literally i owe henrik holm my life for his portrayal of even -not to be a soft bitch on main but when isak tucks the blanket over even and it keeps getting pulled off his back so isak just. covers that spot with himself? -i do love that call between sonja and isak bc once again! a flawed (realistic) human being -and isak thinking its his fault even is depressed? it means a lot that sonja told him its no ones fault, even is just bipolar. and i wonder if isak felt that way about his mamma as well, guilty for her being ill, and if what sonja said made him feel better about that situation too :( -lowkey random but when isak is rambling really fast and he goes “maybe we’ll get bombed tomorrow and talking about all this is a waste of time” it continually punches me in the throat bc that is /exactly/ how i ramble and think like tarjei........ pls -like eskild said. there really is so much love in isak’s little grumpy teenage body<3 -isak no longer just passively accepting life as its given to him, now he fights for him and even!!!!! -isak is such a forgiving person and seeing him able to just accept things and move on? incredible -i remember when i first watched ep1 i was like oooo even and isak are gonna be kosegruppa partners and thats when theyll first get together, cooking food or smth!! but lmfao after episode 3? kosegruppa whomst???? also hilarious vilde thought isak of all people would willingly sign up for kosegruppa just to go to revue parties -even and linn friendship!!!! -cannot articulate how mf heartwarming it is to see even smiling and being more himself after being depressed (also thank u julie for having ups and downs coming out of his depression- its so true to life having one day when youre feeling awesome and then the next you feel awful again for no reason and its SO frustrating) -I had to stop watching passe pa meg cause it made me toooooo crazy! it would just be like: “I like seeing you laugh” and I was like: *SCREAMS* -im the fucking master of lying 😤 -literally don’t know why isak and even ragging on kosegruppa is so funny but “did you think I joined to have fun” gets me every time -I SAW YOU THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL -also even literally radiating love @ isak watching get snarky w vilde on the phone bc it reminded him of the first time he saw him! even rly is that boyfriend who thinks isak being pissy is the Best Thing he has Ever seen -halla boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiz -literally the glo up of isak telling his friends the order in which he’d bang them -No filter! wow I love symbolism -so nice to see the girls together for a lil bit :) -the boys hyping up mags while also telling him to be respectful awwwwww -take desperate to a whole new level- Confucius -who’s going to show isak how to properly hold a beer can -literally evak banter gets me thru the day. thank u tarjei and henrik for having phenomenal chemistry + improvisation skills + making isak and even the dumbest nerdiest boys i have ever seen -biology partner. and friend. ;-; -even literally is the biggest stoner blease -isak’s talk with eva is just sooooo<3 and not to be emo on main but every single word of the last few sentences he says hit me so gd hard because i feel the exact same way in my BONES -livet er nå 💛

final thoughts :( <3 -this season is so special. it feels like one really long oscar-worthy movie or smth?? i cant even exblain, its just magical. ALSO very dear to my heart. -julie really said you guys have seen isak sad and alone and repressed for the past two seasons so heres him falling in love with the best person in the world and coming to terms with who he is and being brave and opening up and finally being happy and living a real life -this season definitely feels different from s1/2/4 to me editing or production or music smth wise? as in, its got a lot fewer aesthetic shots and the cinematography seems a bit different if that makes any sense???? I also think this is the season most focused just on the main (i.e. not many- if any? sideplots going on) -literally will never get over the thought, love, and detail put into this season. when i say there is literally nothing i would change about it, i mean it and coming from my nitpicky ass??? means a lot lmfao. the acting, directing, music choices, symbolism...... sublime -s3′s cold rainy autumn aesthetic makes me ACHE for fall and also nostalgic for a highschool experience I never had lmao?? also. all the nighttime clips >>> -don’t know what else to say except thank u skam for my life

“Hey!” He cheers, a smile obvious on the other end. “Um, I was wondering if you could come over-like, right now...” He asks.

“I cant, Josh! Do you understand its 1 in the morning!”

“Its actually 12:57.” He sasses. I laugh at his response, wondering why he would want me to come over. “Please come over, Y/n. My parent’s aren't home and it’ll be worth it.”

“Oh, um, ok. Yea I’ll be over in a bit.” We say our goodbyes and hang up. His parent’s aren't home I wonder, my heart skipping a beat at the thought. No, no, no he’s too innocent for sex. Is he?

I shrug, slipping on a jacket and my phone in my pocket. I close my computer down by holding the power button, not caring to exit out of the windows still up. I slide my feet into my shoes and carefully sneak out my bedroom door, making sure not to wake up my mom. I tip toe my way to the front door, hesitating when I heard a creak.

I successfully sneak through the door, slowly closing it. I begin to walk down the sidewalk, looking forward to me and Josh’s night out.

As I approach the young man’s house, I text him, alerting him that I was outside. In less than a minute, I see the door swing open, revealing a cutie in a cat muscle shirt.

“Y/n!” Josh cheers, smiling brightly. “Come in, quick.” He hurries me, motioning his hand to me. I hurry inside the house, hearing the front portal shut behind me. I observe the house, wondering how Josh’s parents let me come this late, or should I say early, at night.

“So,” I begin, turning to the handsome boy. “Why did you bring me here?” He chuckles, happiness and excitement obviously in him.

“I’m glad you asked.” He runs into the kitchen, my curious personality following him. I see him dig around in the fridge, glass clinking together. Suddenly, he pulls out a 750ml bottle of Iceberg Vodka. I choke on my breath, finding myself laughing. He smiles as he holds the bottle up for me, presenting it.

“Josh,” I shake my head, smiling like a goofball. “We cant drink this!” I say, beginning to take off my jacket. “We’re literally 19. And we’re both not turning 21 anytime soon.” He chuckles, putting down the bottle.

“So? I know you’ve told me before about stealing alcohol.” He grins, fishing through the cupboards for glasses.

“I know, but what are your parent’s gonna say?”

“They aren’t here.” He winks, already pouring us a drink. I roll my eyes, walking over to the soon-to-be-drunk Josh. He pours us both short glasses, one that’s pink and the other red. I hold up the pink glass and study it, the words ‘Twerk Queen’ imprinted on it.

I laugh, “’Twerk Queen’? Really?” He chuckles, picking up his own shot.

“My mom is a freak when she isn’t at church.” We both share a giggle at his remark. “Ok, enough chat; I wanna get drunk.”

“You better not become an alcoholic after tonight.” I warn, watching Josh down his shot. I bring the glass up to my lips and slowly drink the liquid, forgetting it’s a shot. I make a sour face as the vodka buzzes through my veins and up to my brain, making me cringe.

“Y/n!” Josh chuckles, setting his glass down. “You aren't drinking a can of beer. Its a shot. You have to just down it.”

“Yea, yea, I know. I forgot.” I shush, the strong taste still in my mouth. “ I’m a first time drinker you know, right?”

“Yea, I am too. I just thought it would be logical for you.”

“Shut up” We both share a laugh as Josh pours another shot for both of us. He hands me my filled shot as he takes his own.

“Remember, its a shot.” He giggles, raising the glass to his lips.

“I know, dummy.”

As time went on and more and more alcohol was consumed, we became more and more unaware of what reality was; In other words, we got drunk as hell. After shots became too strong for us, we moved to regular beer, Corona specifically.

I laugh at a joke Josh slurred, covering my mouth with my hand. We were smashed as fuck.

“Hey, I got a question.” Josh suddenly says, wiping a tear from his eye. I nod my head, telling him to continue. “Are you a virgin?”

“No, far from that.” I giggle. “Once I turned 18, I went crazy.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“Well,” I began, setting my drink on the counter. “I lost my virginity to Tyler.” I hear Josh silence a laugh, an apparent smile trying to be hidden. “What?”

“Nothin’, just continue.” He takes a sip of his beer, watching me intensely as I went on.

“I also fucked Zach, to get payback for Tyler dumping me.” I chuckle, now remember the scene. “And recently, I fucked my old childhood friend, who we can just call Cody.”

Josh holds a hand up to me, stopping me. “Out of all your fuck buddys, who was your favorite.”

“I said ‘I bet you’re a bottom boy’.” I repeat, making sure to emphasize the B’s. I smirk, hoping to ignite something inside him. He nods his head, chuckling.

“That’s funny,” He straightens up his posture, staring directly down at me, making me feel small. I feel his hand, snake up my torso, suddenly gripping my neck. In hindsight, Cole really shouldn’t have tried to run through a pitch black alleyway when he has literally no sense of direction.

Now, don’t get him wrong, he can be a Ninja just fine, there are land marks all over the city, and he can navigate buildings just fine, but if you were to throw him in an alleyway in the thick of the city before he had time to take in his surroundings, and said alleyway was pitch black (ha, black), he was screwed.

Which conveniently is what just happened to him.

He could hear the shuffling of clothes and whimpers in front of him. He could also hear a calm set of breathing in front of him, maybe a unconscious person? He couldn’t hear the sound of any guards, which was mildly concerning, and other people were there, so if he had to guess, he was a hostage.

Cole slowly peeled his eyes open and scanned his surroundings. There was a little girl, preteens maybe, crying to his left, as well as an elderly woman. There was two gruff looking older men to his right whispering to each other, a plan to escape from the sounds of it. In front of him was three teens. The one on the left was a girl with Blue hair? And the one on the right was wearing baggy sweatpants and a hoodie with the hood on, so he couldn’t see their face, but he did spie a lock of black hair. In front of him was a male teen of maybe 14 or 15 with platinum blonde hair. When Cole made eye contact, their strikingly familiar green eyes wided into saucers. Cole could feel his own follow suit.

“G-!?” It took all of his will power to snap his jaw shut before things got out of hand. Green’s shoulders visibly sagged with relief. Cole let out a controlled breath.

Shit.

It’s a good thing Wu told them to practice lip reading on their own time, or else they would be screwed.

“Are you okay?” Green asked. Huh. Okay. Nevermind then. This can work. Probably.

“Yeah.” Cole winced. “Okay, maybe not.” The Blue haired girl and Hoodie laughed. Green frowned.

“Physically or mentally?” Hoodie asked, snorting, they definitely sounded like a girl. Cole thought to how completely discombobulated and so not okay he was when Jay first ran into him. And the the wound on his hip and on his shin, and the dull ache in his head. Oh yeah, and there was also Green, unmasked, sitting literally a few yards in front of him.

“Both?” Cole shrugged nonchalantly. “I mean, I’ve been going through some shocking stuff lately, it’s quite similar to what’s happening right now actually-”

“What?!” Green interrupted. Cole rolled his eyes.

“Gee, dude. Don’t get your skinnies in a twist.” It took a second for what he said to click.

“Did you just insult my skinny jeans? How dare you.” Chuckles all around. Cole barked a laugh as he shifted to get more comfortable.

“I’m assuming you two know each other?” Blue hair asked. Green bobbed his head.

“Yep. Have for years.”

The girl grinned. “Sweet. I’m Katelyn,” She introduced.

“Solana.”

Okay. Blue hair is Katelyn, and hoodie is Solana. Good to kno-

“Lloyd.”

Hoo boy. Green’s name is Lloyd. Cool. Definitely remembered that. Definitely didn’t expect that. Like how he didn’t expect Blue’s name to be Jay or Red’s to be Kai or Gray’s to be Nya. Sweet.

He really needed to get his thoughts in order.

“Cole,” He grinned. “I’d shake your hand buuut, y’know.” Katelyn and Solana laughed. Lloyd gave a small amused smile.

“Yeah yeah that’s great all, but did you ever stop to wonder what the hell is going to happen to us?” Grumpy guy one snarled.

Cole shrugged. “Nope!” He flashed an award-winning smile. “Because life is all Cupcakes, Rainbows, and Unicorns!” Grumpy guy two rolled his eyes.

“Jeez, you have major issues. Go see a therapist.”

Yeah, Cole probably did need a therapist.

“He does have issues,” Lloyd agreed. Cole gasped at him in mock hurt.

“What? No! I thought we were friends?!” Lloyd rolled his eyes.

“Yeah, right.” Cole gasped again.

“What do mean? Has four years meant nothing to you?” Lloyd bit his bottom lip to prevent a smile breaking across his face. A feat in which he ultimately failed as he burst into giggles. Cole smiled.

“I just don’t understand. How are you kids so calm?” The elderly woman, oh hey she was there too, asked. Lloyd gave a tight smile.

“This isn’t the first time.” The woman gasped.

“Oh my! Are you alright dear?” Cole chuckled.

“He’s fine. He just has a knack for getting into these types of situations, like, waaaaay too often,” he explained. “It’s unhealthy how often he gets kidnapped, really.”

“Oh my…” The woman whispered, eyes wide. Lloyd sent a glare towards Cole, who grinned in response. Katelyn frowned in his direction.

“Uh…Cole, was it? Are you okay?” Cole smiled at her.

“Oh, I am just fine and dandy! Like a dandelion!” Lloyd narrowed his eyes at Cole, trying to come to some conclusion. Suddenly, his eyes widen.

“Shit.” Everyone gave him a look.

“What..is it?” Solana asked hesitantly.

“I think they drugged him or something. Look.” The group of hostages stared at him in disbelief. Cole giggled.

“Don’t do drugs kids!” Grumpy guy two rolled his eyes with a chuckle.

“Yep, he’s definitely got something in his system.”

Well, at least it explained why his brain was being so weird. And fuzzy. Could your brain feel fuzzy? Like, when it felt fuzzy, if you were to take it out of your skull would it feel fuzzy to the touch? Or would it still be slimy? Do brains feel slimy? What do brains feel like? If you have a headache and you were to take your brain out of your skull, would it hurt if you touched it? Wait, that’s not how the world works. Is it? Pretty sure it isn’t, but magic shouldn’t be real, so. Is magic real? Did their powers count as magic? And why was he thinking about this? Instead of something productive like….. waffles?

Yeah, safe to say, Cole’s brain was fucked up right now.

It also was tired of having Cole conscious, apparently.

“.. Cole…an…ou..ear….e….ole!” Cole had time to briefly wondered if that was supposed to be concerning before succumbing to the darkness of his mind.

Lloyd was having an….off day. First, he gets kidnapped (again, which was so not cool), then because of that kidnapping Black’s identity got compromised, though rather silently so, and then apparently they had drugged Cole (He was 99% sure his last name was Brookstone) and then he had passed out!

Safe to say, this day was not going how he planned.

“Cole? Bud? You wanna…wake up? Or…no? Okay. That’s cool!” Lloyd gave an experimental tug at the ropes binding his wrists together. A grin crossed his face when he felt them loosen. Working quickly, he had his hands untied in record time. He paused midway through the rope around his feet when he was suddenly addressed.

“Wait, Lloyd? How the hell did you get your bindings undone so fast?!” Katelyn exclaimed, bewildered. Lloyd shrugged, pulling the rope from around his ankles free.

“They weren’t on too tight,” He replied, moving to untie the bluenette. The girl in question scooted away from him.

“Nuh-uh! You deal with Cole first!” Lloyd flushed.

“Yeah, I probably should’ve thought of that first.” He crawled over to Cole, only to blink in surprise when he was met with a half-lidded gaze and a dopey smile.

“H-Heeeey, Lloydy-Lloyd~,” Cole smiled drunkenly up at his friend. Lloyd, in turn, began to undo his bindings. “Why are you always getting kidnapped?” The Black Ninja asked, in such a serious and innocent voice that it took all his unknown will power and then some to not burst into uncontrollable laughter.

“I don’t know, Coley. I don’t know,” Lloyd replied as he began to undo Solana’s ties, smiling at her when she thanked him.

“Why are we so unguarded? Shouldn’t we be worried?” One of the older men asked. Lloyd threw his hands up in frustration.

“Gee, chill! You’ve done nothing but be angsty since we got here! And sure, we have a basically drunk Cole, an old lady, a child, three teens and two grumpy grown men, but we can still do this! Okay, now that I’ve said that out loud I realize that we might be screwed! But! I believe in us as much as I believe in my ability to not give good pep talks!” Lloyd exclaimed. Everyone laughed at that.

“Haha! Oooh, we’re so gonna die,” Solana chuckled nervously, running a hand over her neck and pulling her arm up into a stretch. Lloyd (lightly!) punched her shoulder.

“Hey! Don’t think like that, we’ll make it out fine!” Lloyd assured. She nodded hesitantly. Working quickly, he soon had everyone untied and standing (Cole was leaning on him).

“And if we don’t make it out unscathed?”

“We’re probably going to die anyways.”

He snapped his head around.

“Seriously guys? You’re supposed to be the adults here! I thought you were supposed to leave the angst behind as a kid!” Lloyd threw his hands up, slowly letting them fall down in defeat. “Ugh! I’m so sick and tired of you two!” Lloyd takes a controlled breath. “Listen. If we want any chance of survival, you two are gonna have to get your shit together,” He growled. They stared at him in surprise. “And collectively, you two have a lot of shit. And said shit is currently strewn about all over the place. And, if you want us to live, and if you want your own hairy asses to live, I’d highly recommend getting said hairy asses in gear and start getting your fucking! Shit! Together!” Lloyd snarled, his voice rising in power and volume towards the end.

To Lloyd’s left, Cole giggled. “Here I was thinking Jay was the one to make witty and snarky remarks in tense situations like this one,” He remarked. Lloyd felt his blood run cold. Jay. Witty and snarky remarks. Tense situations like this one.

Fucking hell Blue’s name is Jay.

And Cole somehow knew that.

“Though, he did get better after he and Kai started dating,” He mused. “I mean, they had some issues to work out beforehand, obviously, but they managed.” Cole straightened suddenly and turned to his self-proclaimed pillar. “Hey, did you know that Skylor placed bets with Nya on how quickly Kai and Jay would get together? Those two girls are crazy, I tell you. Craaazy.”

No.

Fuck no.

Lloyd wasn’t having an off day because he got kidnapped.

He was having an off day because Cole just fucking revealed the identities of all his teammates but White right here right now.

Jay was Blue.

Kai was probably Red.

Which meant Nya was most likely Gray.

Holy shit.

Was it possible to go through midlife crisis in your teens?

Because that’s certainly what’s happening now.

At least Cole have the decency to look apologetic.

“Oh, sorry man. Should I not have said that?” Lloyd shook his head.

“No, more like shouldn’t know that. At all.” Shaking his head once more, Lloyd cautiously approached the door leading out of the trapezoid shaped room. Testing the knob revealed that it was unlocked, and the door swung wide open, accompanied by a grunt and a thud. Instantly, a guard turned around the corner, gun raised. Lloyd’s Ninja instincts kicked in and he moved, disarming the guard and putting him in a chokehold, letting go on only when he fell unconscious.

“Wow..” Solana breathed. Everyone was in shook, save for Cole, who just giggled.

“Man, can I have your number after this?” Katelyn exclaimed. “No romo though,” she hastened to add on.

“Same, same. I want-no, need, a kick-ass friend in my life,” Solana said, a grin slipping on her face. Lloyd grinned.

“Oh please, that’s the least I can do.” Cole giggled again.

“It’s true!” Cole, guess what, giggled, again.

“Okay, but let’s cut the chatter, we don’t know what’s up ahead,” Lloyd commanded, slipping into his leader persona. Slowly but surely the group made its way forward down the hall, Lloyd in the lead. Up ahead was another door, this time though, Lloyd was prepared. So when he threw the door open, he was ready for the two guards that came rushing in. He had them disarmed and unconscious and no time, and looking past the door revealed another hallway with a door at end, a staircase barely visible beyond that.

“So, do these people have like a, hallway fetish or what? Cuz I’m like 99% sure they do,” Cole said, and, you guessed it, giggled. Again. Lloyd snorted.

“Maybe,” He replied softly. Cole suddenly turned to him with a serious expression on his face

“Look man, I sorry I outed the team-I mean, our friends like that. I know you really really didn’t want to know, and Skylor and Nya made me promise not to tell anyone but… y'know, things happen, amiright?”

So, that was his team confirmed. Good to know.

“You are right.”

As they neared the top of the stairs, Lloyd held a hand out, signaling the group to stop. Creeping forward, he didn’t see anyone. After looking around for a bit, he realized that no one was standing on the roof. It was completely abandoned, and completely suspicious. Stand up straight (hah), he took a moment to admire the sky.

So engrossed in his task, he didn’t notice the new and brightly colored arrivals until Red landed literally right in front of his face, which prompted his to scream-

“HOLY SHIT!”

Yeah, today was so not his day.

session 12 & 13 - It’s been a very long day

Picking up again moments later, the group inquire into what exactly the proposition Orin has is. Orin goes on to detail the deal as such, Vorde will lend the group his aid in apprehending the Letterheads in exchange for their help on a later job of his. Apparently he noticed their escape from the palace, thinking them either extremely lucky or skilled considering the circumstances, he became interested in the group and their skills subsequently.

Orin states the job in question is in Vorde’s home city of Antessa and would require the group to travel, hiring them as mercenaries of a sort, before saying he cannot say much else about it for the time being. He also states that the group would be compensated for their cooperation as well. As the group converse Orin then moves to the large hole in the wall of the building and calls out to someone, before a small strangely cute looking bat lands upon Orin’s shoulder.

Orin: “You met him at the ball too right?” he cracks another smile before poking the bat slightly “in person would be great pal”

Orin: i figured its better to have you out here than sitting in the shadows, makes us look less...nefarious? Psalm: what's nefarious about turning into a bat am i right Finn: He's been fidgeting with his cape for a moment, bringing it up to his face to hide for just a moment. whispering to himself. "i suppose so yeah.” Psalm: not that it's a bad thing 💦 Plum: nice one hahahahaha

Rokka: rokka this entire convo

As the conversation continues Orin tells the group that Vorde will give them all the information he’s currently gathered on the Letterheads in exchange for their cooperation. He also states they’d loan them Finn to their party to help out, Orin stating he is quite skilled in his own right and that it should be a help towards their endeavours. Asked by the group, he then goes on to speak of what they saw him doing earlier, and why Vorde wouldn't come and give them this proposition himself.

Orin: “ I was trying to interrogate that assassin, but after a time he just wouldn’t listen to anything I would say, I had him pinned with my sword however and he was trapped" he huffs

"So I suppose he decided to lean forward and take the stab in the chest voluntarily. I don’t know if it’s a thing with corpses and death and their leader or if he just didn’t want to risk blabbing, but I wasn’t intending to kill the man at least.” He folds his arms in front of him

“a corpse is less useful than a talking man, and I kind of shy away from murking’ strangers”

Finn: "my uncles expertise lies more in gathering information and dealing with it. hes also already wrapped up enough in this." he doesn't have the time to be happy or depressed over Orin beaming by mentioning him.

"i'd appreciate it if you stopped throwing baseless accusations around like this though." a cold aura surrounds him once again.

The group then turn their attention towards the passed out man in the room before them, tied up in ropes across his top and middle section. Orin states he was sent here with Finn to investigate the man and that they found him like this curiously enough. He states he’s going to wake him up to question him but psalm tells him to gag the man first, orin asks if he wants to do it but psalm refuses to get involved. Though as Orin's about to poke him, Psalm decides to quickly gag him anyway beforehand.

Finn: finn is unsure what to think of psalms .. skillful rope tying Psalm: PLOL PLEASE I'M JUST DOIGN MY JOB

Orin wakes the sleeping scruffy man laying half on the floor and he quickly snorts and shoots up, sitting on his knees, eyeballing the group with a dirty look because of the gag in his mouth. He gets up on his legs and stamps around angrily before Finn tells the man they're here to just ask him some questions and to not scream or they’ll be very sad about it. Orin removes the gag and the man states there’s nothing for them to rob if that's what they're after.

Orin asks the man if he knows anything of the Red Letterheads, he quickly reacts with fear and strange laughing stating he’s not letting them nab him again.

Finn: are you the so called foot folk? marvellous. I’ve always wanted to see a peasant with my own eyes!

At their statement that the group is looking for the letterheads the man seems to calm down ever so slightly and tells them what he knows of the group and why.

Sammy: "i was minding my own business as i always do, down there just outside the front this place, weren't many people around.." he stamps his feet "doesn't mean i was asking to get grabbed by weird bastards!! about two weeks ago it was....they knocked me out and before I knew what was going on I was in this horrid looking place, locked up with all these sacks around me” His eyes grow somewhat frantic “all I could hear was footsteps echoing, but every now and again I heard a scream come from all around the walls, I thought I was gone get skinned alive but i was so tired... just kept going in an out of consciousness haha...” his teeth start chattering

Psalm: so how'd you end up back here? Sammy: “whatever cage they locked me in for the time wasn’t that securely kept together, i was able to pull myself together at one point and I bashed my head on it a few times and it rocked open" he gestures at his head with his knee "I never saw anybody actually the entire time I was there so I booked it as fast as fucking possible” he stamps again

Sammy: “when I found the exit and burst out I found myself running into the middle of the business district in broad daylight” he shakes from side to side his bound shoulders shifting “I was so stunned I just stood there dumb jaw lying open, when I turned round the door behind was completely different to the one id come out of, building even, I thought I was still underground somewhere” his teeth start to chatter

“I made for the sewers as quick as I could, the city up there scares the piss out of me and being covered in blood is a good way to get hauled off by the crooked guards”

The group ask him how he knew who took him to which the old guy states he saw a symbol carved on the wall and recognised it as their moniker. Apparently dwelling down here he’s catches wind of all sorts of unsavoury types and their ilk, though not enough to avoid them apparently. When he describes the symbol the group realises its the same one on the small tokens they grabbed from the assassin's bodies.

Psalm: hey what's your name? Sammy: he stares at you for a moment psalm suspicious "....you tell me yours first...." Psalm: you're not really in the position to be asking for my name now are you? Plum: psalm's his name, i'm plum, that's rokka Psalm: .................................

Plum: why are you tied up Sammy: THIS kind stranger is how I sleep, makes me feel good and secure, who are YA'LL anyway? Coming into my house? Criticising how I get to sleep at night huh? Psalm: * under breath * "no wonder you got kidnapped" Plum: ..............................alright Finn: kinky Plum: how do you get untied...

Plum: turning to orin "weren't y'all the one on a job to ask this guy questions" Orin: he looks down at you "but you guys seemed to be having such a fun time of it" Finn: finn flashes a polite smile "you're doing a good job!" Finn & Orin: ^_^

The group then question the man as to why he was yelling about the letterheads a week back to which Sammy responds to with utter confusion, he doesn't remember doing that. The group stare at each other confusedly before stating a few theories, Plum bringing up maybe this guy has a doppelganger too or if they controlled him somehow while he was in their care

Orin seemingly satisfied with the questioning then makes to leave with the information Sammy’s told them. Plum throws a random pillow on the ground at Orin but he dodges it and it instead goes sailing out of the giant hole in the wall. Orin goes to reassure Sammy before leaving that they’ll take care of the Letterheads, somewhat awkwardly, before telling the group to think on Vorde’s proposition and meet them on the other end of the cavern in three hours should they agree to work with them. Finn and Orin then hop out of the hole in the wall, disappearing from view, leaving the group and a confused Sammy in their wake.

As the four consider what to do afterwards they hear a knock at empty door frame to the room and a man they’ve never met before poke his head inside.

Meanwhile a small time before the group question Sammy the other half of the group make their way back to Renny’s and subsequently over towards the East Dive. Once they arrive they seemingly spot Plum staring up at the derelict looking building and come over to speak to them.

Han: i walk over like “HEY LIL SIR” smack them on the back Plum: they jump somewhat and whip around but let out a “oh it’s all of you” while raising a brow and looking around. Han: yea i mean. you guys told us to come here, so whats up what did you guys find Plum: uh...nothing yet the others are…around, we got separated I don’t know where they ran off too… Keva: wait. what were you doing at the night of the ball? Plum: they stare at you for a moment "i was with all of you?" Han: ah.

The group seem to suss out this isn’t their plum and Han and Keva quickly move to act, Han quickly trying to grapple them but this plum seems to be able to snake their way out of their grasp quite quickly

Plum: what the hell ?? Han: just giving u a hug bro Plum: a very aggressive hug

Han falls to the floor failing to tackle them, quickly after Keva strikes them with her dagger, hitting and cutting them, though strangely she doesn't see any wound appear on plum’s visage despite their cry of pain.

Quickly after Plum runs off into the building the group give chase, albeit the other three a little confusedly at the sudden bolting. They make their way running through the definitely-not-safely-traversable building chasing after where they spot the fake plum skittering away. Eventually they come across a long haphazard beam between corridors on the second floor. Cimmorro and Vinny quickly make their ways across though Keva has a bit of trouble, Han and Cole stumble falling off completely back onto the ground floor, landing atop a pillow groaning in pain.

Vinny and Cimmorro are close but arent sure which path in front of them the fake plum ran down

Cimmorro: vinny please your huge BRAIN needs to work here Vinny: "UH IM NOT SURE WHAT WERE EVEN DOING" he looks about confused "should we just pick at random?"

Cimmorro: bro u got any magic to track stowaways or sumn Vinny: “uhh" he thinks for a moment while you two are running "no but i can make us float?" Cimmorro: ??????? i don't think we need that right now... do we??? Vinny: probably not but i mean its there if we need it??

Keva heads up a floor higher once she’s crossed the beam, sighting plum at the far end running into a room and slamming a door behind them, she gives chase hopping over a large hole in the ground. Underneath on the floor below, Cimmorro and Vinny see her leap over their heads. Cimmorro shouts at Vinny to use his spells now frantically climbing and grabbing him to which he quickly complies, hurtling them a floor up and landing them at Keva’s feet in a heap. In the meantime Cole and Han make their way quickly back up the flights of stairs.

Cole: han you pull u and cole's asses off the ground and round to head back into the building, she tries to cheer you up a little on the way Cimmorro: plz tell me cole pats hans bum :/ Han: ye she does

Cimmorro: HGJFKHG climbs on top of vinny like a cat and screeches Rokka: i imagined vinny t posing while floating and cimms just clinging onto his back Cimmorro: JGKHSBXC<BX<MCBN<B

Keva manages to get the door open but finds herself looking out into an empty derelict room, large holes in the rickety wooden walls, the fake plum seemingly nowhere to be found. Keva huffs and informs Han, the two then head back to the ground floor and try and angrily search about for them while the other three watch them from up in the empty room tired from all the running.

Cutting back to the other group for the moment, the new man who’s entered the room appears to be a tall drow, wearing a hood and an eyepatch. He remarks that he didn’t know Sammy had friends over to which Sammy then complains about him being 6 hours late for something.

Before the two can can discuss whatever it is though Plum quickly tells Sammy that they want to check him first before they go, to see if he has any weird symbols put on him by the letterheads. Sammy is suspicious at first but seemingly relents after Plum tells him of the weird symbol they saw on a corpse before. In the meantime Psalm speaks with the drow, who introduces himself now as Nickel, apparently a friend of Sammy’s.

Rokka: waves Nickel: he waves back at you rokka Rokka: WOW SOMEONE FINALLY WAVES BACK

Ezra from the corner of the room he’s been situated has been giving the drow a stare since he’s walked in, to which Nickel comments on, Psalm also inquires into the look.

Ezra: "I've seen you before, just making sure where from.." he pauses before walking up to stand next to you psalm "you wouldn't happen to run with a group called the blue hoods" he cocks a brow Nickel: he laughs and raises a brow "the dark blues actually, got a little confused there pal?" and he smiles Ezra: ezra's eye narrows "right..." he looks back at where plum is poking sammy "strange for you to show up in a place like this is all i think"

Ezra informs Psalm that the dark blues are a group of underground traders who deal in all sorts of items across this city though he finds it strange that sammy would be a customer.

Psalm: you wouldn't happen to have any connections in the west would you Nickel: he raises a brow "why ya asking?" Psalm: just some insurance i guess, call it paranoia if you want, but your uniform looks too similar to someone i know Nickel: he raises a brow "haha got plenty of enemies do you, always good to be prepared huh" Psalm: i wouldn't say plenty :psalmface:

Psalm: if any, let's say shady organisations from the west come asking though just pretend i wasn't here Nickel: nickel looks at you and shrugs "if i have a reason too sure, maybe if you buy something off me later" and he laughs Psalm: you'll be the first person i come to if i need anything then Nickel: oh too kind sir

As the conversation ebbs on Plum finally finds an old looking brand on Sammy’s back and informs the others, calling them over to look. As they inform the two strangers and tell them he ought get the brand checked out, Psalm looks out the large hole in the wall of the building, and in the darkness spots Han and Keva grumpily searching around.

He calls out to the two of them beckoning them to come upwards. They make their way back inside swinging by the other three and heading up 7 flights of rickety stairs, meeting back up.

Rokka: BROOOOOOOOO Han: BROOOOOOOOOOOOO Keva: wait have we done the password HAN

Keva immediately asks the secret question while holding her dagger but the other group heckle her over saying it first thing, she quickly gets fed up from this and the plum debacle earlier and stalks out to wait in the hallway fuming slightly.

Psalm: oh look what you did plum you upset her Cimmorro: i love drama!

Vinny: vinny looks at keva leave the room before looking at you plum "....whats your favourite colour" Plum: pink? Vinny: he nods "real!"

Han quietly informs them they just ran into plum’s doppelganger hence her apprehension. The group then turn and ask who the two strangers are to which the other group explain a tip on the letterheads led them here, they also tell of Orin’s appearance, Keva listens intently from outside the doorframe on that. The group inform them of the proposition they were given before telling sammy he should be good probably if he doesn't die so be sure to not do that. Sammy grumbles with his head in his hands.

Before the group scuttle off Han quickly asks Nickel what exact services he provides as she’s heard of the dark blues before in passing.

Nickel: “underground trading yes, we provide typically illegal wares that we smuggle into the city here" he smiles "illicit herbs, concoctions, materials, weapons, armour, all sorts of things, we take on requests too should our customers desire something specific" he clasps his hands in front of him "should you find yourself in need of our lovely groups' services you can find us down near the docks, our inventory changes quite a bit" he smirks happily

Satisfied the group then quickly take their leave of the place, heading back to Renny’s where they can safely discuss their next plan of attack.

SESSION 13 - 4/14 🦇✨

After arriving at Renny’s the group begin discussing the various things they learned while separated as well as what transpired right before they met up with one another, Keva keeping quiet for most of it.

Han: right so. outside that building we saw a copy of plum, keva kinda saved our ass by remembering the code so props to her Psalm: for safety's sake we should change it next time, but yes good job keva Han: like its obviously going to sound awkward but that’s the whole point, we just need to hear the actual words

Plum: so where’d my doppelganger go? guessing they ran off Han: yea we lost sight of them Plum: wow sure hope they aren't robbing a fucking bank right now! Han: they already killed a person as you Plum: why do you guys take me so seriously for crissakes Rokka: u look serious plum Plum: fair, that’s just my face Cole: its the furrowed brows Han: its a very serious face

Han: wait why are you calling them plum Psalm: plum is their name? Han: no its prune? Plum: what, no it's my name, prune is my sister's name Rokka: YOU.................LIED? Han: ............did you lie to us about ur damn name? and it wasn't even that good of a lie? Plum: did i.................. Psalm: you lied and you don't even remember amazing

The surface group detail the things they heard above ground, and who the guard are apparently looking for. They also mention gossip they heard about this maybe being a coup or assassin's sent by Talornia as well as the victims of the attack. Upon hearing of SIlversoul, Rokka’s mood visibly dampens and he sulks somewhat in a corner of the room.

Psalm then brings up something he thought against telling Han in the room in the East Dive at the time, that they came across Rickert while looking for information in the cove earlier. Though Han doesn't seem to take much interest.

Psalm: i just thought you'd be interested in the bounty is all Plum: oh were you not interested in ripping him in half? guess we read you wrong Han: no i. [sighs rly deeply] ye listen that was. an embarrassing moment of weakness going all crazy, i dont ... like doing it and i dont want to be like that.... new page and all that. i took a nap, meditated, calm down. thought about my bad decisions. s'all good now Plum: oh so that’s not your usual mood? glad to hear it Psalm: no need to be embarrassed Plum: nothing speaks new page than probably having to change our identities now that were wanted am i right Han: LAUGHS WEAKLY

The two then heckle Psalm for clearly being on the lookout for something or someone to which he replies he was just kidding about actually having to change his identity before this.

Han: you do give off a vibe of wanting to disappear Psalm: i just try to leave as little of a footprint as possible Han: yea that sounds like somebody who is on the run Psalm: yes well can't help what it sounds like can i

Psalm: that's why you shouldn't go giving out my name to strangers plum 🙂 Plum: sorry i didn’t know you had some kind of hitman after you 🙂 no seriously sorry, we weren’t getting anywhere Psalm: *visibly agitated* i suppose it was the only way

Plum then asks Han about whether or not they got the stuff they asked for from their room, to which Han replies they did, handing it over easily enough. Psalm asks what plum’s big pink potion actually is, they tell the group that its a medicine for themselves.

Plum: if i don’t drink it then i get this awful pain in my stomach, every now and again, but how it actually helps i don’t know, well that’s just one of the symptoms. As you would imagine i haven’t tested out not drinking it. Psalm: oh, that's more serious than i was expecting Han: han just looks at you like ????????? Plum: also would i carry around a bottle this large for a trivial reason

Han: i like u plum, u helped me up in the basement n stuff :( Plum: also i like you more han now that i know you're not actually as bloodthirsty the day we met Han: aw thanks Psalm: when you're not pinning people against walls that is Han: u deserve that one Plum: yeah Psalm: well Han: i dont know if you think the rest are stupid but its pretty obvious when you start talking in whatever language to someone its more than a little creepy Psalm: if you ask nicely i'll explain what that's all about some other time maybe

As the group continue conversing with one another, Vinny who has been seemingly studying his spellbook for a time next to Cimmorro, seems to pipe up about something and turns to him.

Vinny: he eyes the book before suddenly turning right at you “sir cimmorro!” Cimmorro: cimm tilts his head slightly towards vinny going "yes????? hello?" Vinny: he leans in towards you a little, his eyes intent “remember ah…during the ball when you asked my compatriots about an affliction you had, how we said it seemed to sound like a curse or sorts?” Cimmorro: yeah i remember... what about it? Vinny: he pauses "after your kindness so far i feel very grateful and uh" he taps his spellbook briefly “and well, im not sure if it would work at all but I do have a spell that can remove curses, smaller ones, and yours well, it does sound a touch more serious than that! but I figured we could try it out? See if itll work- I figure why not!” Cimmorro: cimm's face beams and also falls kinda nervously as vinny shares his ideas with him and kinda darts his eyes around "like, you mean, now? try it here??"

Vinny continues to happily detail the process, though cimmorro seemingly doesnt jump at the chance to be cured, instead asking if he could teach it to him somehow, though Vinny replies that he doesnt think it'd be possibe for him to learn at the moment. Cimmorro then reveals that its a friend of his who's cursed and not him dejectley.

Vinny: he tilts his head "ohhh, i see...well good to know you dont have such an affliction at the very least!" and he pats your shoulder jovially "would you mind if i asked who for?" Cimmorro: "friend back home." he said hesitantly "so it's pretty important... though if you say you're not even sure if it works, then it would be a waste of time to go back there and head out again in case it fails, ye?? which is why i'm trying to 'collect' them..." leaning closer to vinny "i might just have to drag you back with me at some point : )" Vinny: he nods through your explanation "my heart goes out to your friend then, id imagine it'd be worse for someone without your uh....scaly constitution" as you say that last sentence he gives a loud laugh "well depending on how this ends up we might need to leave shorewater soon anyhow, i'd be a willing enough kidnapping victim at this point" a smile "ill try and keep this in mind then for you" Cimmorro: "ah well," cimm visibly relaxes before continuing "i'm relieved i'm getting somewhere with these at least... and you certainly owe me big time!" chimed in a jokingly tone and sticks his tongue out at the end "oh don't worry, i'll be sure to tell your wife before taking you away" he laughs a little Vinny: he laughs as well until you say the wife bit and pouts "i told you she's not my wife! augh i would never dream of courting such an uppity woman" a beat passes before he groans and points at you "if you ever meet her you better not say it to her face, most of the upper accord already think of me an idiot i dont need people to give them ammunition" Cimmorro: "an idiot huh.... is that why someone's out to kill you"

Their conversation ebbs on to discuss if Vinny has any theorie's as to why he was targetted, though Vinny states he assumes it was someone trying to get back at the Accord or something along those lines. He doesn't have much fondness for the group.

Vinny: he tilts his head at your last comment "....am i really that dim...." Cimmorro: cimm just smiles but in like. an 'are u for real' way before saying "though it still could be them trying to kill you because you DO want to leave?" he shrugs "in any case, i dunno what kinda shit you get yourself into but this is whack.... maybe you really are that stupid damnnn" he looks at vinny and shakes his head Vinny: he sighs "augh getting into this situation somehow maybe i am that stupid, though if Berryl was trying to kill me i think id brain the man the next time i saw him for being so roundabout with it, why bother with blackmail at this point" he huffs another louder sigh before turning his head back towards you "it is whack" Cimmorro: i just imagined him saying "it is whack" like he's one of those middle aged people who's trying to get in with the youthful lingo "it is, indeed, what the kids call, Whack™"

Cimmorro: cimm pats his back in attempt to cheer him up "on the bright side, being stupid doesn't necessarily make you a bad guy though. so you're okay in my book... from what i've seen at least." he flashes a big grin "though i do have to request you to tone down the idiocy a bit. don't want you dying since now i need you too, yea?" he nudges vinny with his elbow Vinny: he gives a laugh at cimms big smile "thank you its appreciated, and the same for yourself sir!" before giving you an incredulous look, smirking after the nudge "i'll do my best to stay alive then, though i think you're just poking fun at me now on purpose"

They continue on before cimmorro broaches one more question, to ask Vinny if he knows of any Jasidian high priests to which Vinny responds that he doesnt, as there arent many worshippers in the city outside travellers. Though there was a group of them who came through the city a year ago which caused a bit of gossip. Locals wondered aloud why they were there as they always do with the rest of the roving population, a few rumours including: them looking for some strange artifact, speaking to the church of Heiron, or raising the dead. They left within the week as well, upon hearing this information Cimmorro seems to deflate while Vinny tries to cheer him up.

As the conversation ebbs on eventually the group discuss what they’re going to do about the proposition Vorde has given them all. The decide they ultimately dont have any better options for the moment, though Han states she trusts Vorde as far as she can throw him.

Cole: as you say that han cole stares intently at your arms Han: THE IMAGE OF HAN THROWING VORDE PHYSICALLY IS RLY GOOD

Han brings up that she’ll look out for the group and that they should be able to rely on each other in turn since they cant really trust Vorde. Everyone else agrees to try and keep each other alive to the best of their abilities and to not backstab one another in the future, and that they dont have any real reason too either.

Partway through their conversation however, Vinny seems to spring to attention looking about frantically before putting a finger to his lips to shush the group. He hops up from his spot in the room and quickly scuttles out into the hallway, pressing himself against the farthest wall while keeping the group in his eyesight through the doorway.

As the group all spring to attention wondering what on earth is going on, across the hall he seems to be gesturing to them to stay where they are while mouthing a word. Keva reads his lips as the word scry and says it outloud, though not knowing what it means, Plum picks up on it and its meaning and informs the group.

Realising Vinny is probably being scryed on, the group decide they should probably leave and ask Vinny if they should, who anxiously coughs once for yes. Ezra suggests he and Cole stay behind so he isn’t alone and the group agree and quickly make their escape from the Inn.

Ezra: ezra sighs "we know where you will all be for a time...if we can regroup we'll head over" Han: i just. do a salute cole waves at you all, vinny kinda does a shrugging motion at the suggestion of heading back to shorewater, ezra gives you all a nod

The group make their quick escape, heading over to the designated meeting point Orin gave them on the other side of town. They make quick enough pace however on the way over Rokka feels eyes on him for a moments time before they dissapear, unnerving him. Psalm asks Rokka what's wrong after he crowds behind him, to which he apologises and responds he felt he was being watched for a moment.

Plum: yo weren't we supposed to be careful of lupine traders Psalm: oh for fucks sake.

The group decide to disguise Rokka for the time being, ducking into a small alley with Han giving him her Ring of Self Alteration. Rokka changes his form to that of a human man, with similarly coloured hair and no shirt (though he does have a cloak on)

Rokka: everyone w/ rokka

you are all stunned by this sexy man Han: have to wait a round to unstun Keva: i am uncomfortable with this feeling Rokka: how do I look? Han: great bro

The group quickly make their way to the meeting point, spotting Orin, Vorde and Finn standing at the end of a deserted street, Orin holding a lamp to provide light. The group slowly make their approach taking sight of the men before them and their surroundings as they do.

As you come closer they all turn to face you as they spot you. Vorde eyes you all with a cool gaze, Orin giving a small smile directed towards you first Keva before eyeing the rest of the group. Finn gives you all a small nod of acknowledgement Vorde finally speaks up

Vorde: “And so we meet once more, intrepid party-goers” he brings a hand up to his chest “an honour ”

Vorde says they must have questions before they strike their deal and to ask them now as they wish. He specifies he was tasked by his family to take out the Red Letterheads which he says hes loathe to do but he also states that it seems to be in his best interest to do so for the moment. He does not speak much more about the job in Antessa outside what Orin has told the group, though he states the fact that it will not be a short job. He states he needs their cooperation before he can tell them anything else about it.

As the conversation progresses Han inquires into Orin’s supposed ‘death’ to which Keva immediately bristles towards.

Psalm:

The group dissolves into an argument about questioning their employers to their faces or the point of it, Keva particularly upset that Han is seemingly is prying into her old friend’s and her own business. Though Han simply seems to want an answer about whether or not the men across from her are undead are not, not caring about any of the other details of it

Finn: finn slowly tears his gaze away from vorde, dread overcoming him ever so slightly. he looks distressed. he eyes the group. "im undead yes. some of you have already seen me .. transform. are you satisfied now?"

Orin: He looks at you for a moment before getting what your implying "oh!" he pauses "not me"

Satisfied with these answers Han backs off ready to go through with the deal and the rest of the group frustratedly sigh to themselves. With that the group agree to cooperate much to Vorde’s peace of mind. He pulls a blank paper out from a case hanging on his side and a quill, asking each of them to sign their names on what he calls a contract. Each of the party make their way up and sign their names one after another.

Rokka: i grab the quill and write my name first with a smiley Psalm: i'll sign my name next might as well Plum: i also go write mine Keva: after i hold the quill awkwardly and just do a squiggle > cimmorro.txt also writes his Han: i write "Han." still grimacing

with a flourish as you complete each of your signatures the ink glows a slight purple before settling back to black. Satisfied Vorde pockets the parchment placing it back within the small wooden case

As Psalm eyes the procedure he recognises it from things hes seen before, the contract seems to be a modified alarm spell, altering Vorde that should the gang stray from its terms he would be immediately be notified.

Satisfied Vorde restates the terms of their cooperation, he shall give them the information he has on the letterheads and once they have been dealt with, they shall accompany him to Antessa and do as he asks, with compensation. Vorde then moves to detail the group with what he has discovered about the Letterheads so far, stating:

🔶 Firstly their leader goes by the name Theyord but it seems it was previously ‘Ansam’ and though there were only 6 assassins at the ball, he has a number of others working under him at his base of operations. He also has reason to believe that the recent sets of missing’s persons in the withered bone can be attributed to the group. He’s still looking into Ansam’s background for the moment.

🔶 Theyord seems to desire bodies, corpses, for some sort of purpose, at the very least he is strictly opposed to established groups of power in Shorewater. Vorde also seems to be currently working under the assumption that he has made a deal with a devil of some sort to attain some kind of powers of necromancy or reanimation.

🔶 Vorde continues to detail through a long serious of spying sessions and bribery that they’ve ascertained that their base of operations is somewhere deep in the withered bone or its caverns, the changing building was the tip off, its somewhere on the far edge of the watery cove along the water, deep in one of the tunnels.

🔶 It is guarded by an enchantment of some sort that allows its position to warp, though there has to be a way for his assassins to find it to report to their boss correct? Vorde then moves to pull out a small token from his pocket, the same one you all nabbed from on top of one of the bodes, the symbol of the Letterheads.

🔶 Vorde thinks that carrying this will reveal the entrance where a simple wall or dead end would appear to the average passer-by. A plan he figures will work is to get a boat and row by the edges of the outer tunnels until they notice something.

After this Vorde seemingly satisfied turns to make his exit with Orin, leaving Finn in the groups care. Before he can though Han and Psalm bring up that there’s some things they want to tell Vorde that they’ve seen in the time they’ve been running about by themselves. They describe the ordeal they experienced with the corpse coming back to life and speaking to them, Orin ponders why they dragged a corpse back to their room as Vorde listens.

In the meantime Plum begins questioning Finn bout his undead status and what exactly it entails, as the conversation ebbs on Psalm also hears Ghester pipe up in the back of his head. He briefly splits off down the end of the street to speak to him as the others talk. Watching the group split up into separate conversations for the moment Keva walks up to Orin and drags him down the street where the others can still see them, but not hear what they're saying

Plum: you said you're undead, wtf does that mean Finn: he breaks eye contract briefly, sorrow written over his face but he tries to keep it Not Personal. "im a vampire." Plum:oh izzat so? that means that our new boss is one too? Finn: my uncle is not undead, no Plum: huh... could’ve fooled me Finn: really? i guess we do share the same aesthetic. Plum: yeah he definitely looks like one, though im no expert considering i didn't know they actually existed til just now Finn: "ah...yeah we aren’t exactly common i guess." hes frowning a bit. "but i assure you my powers will be of good use to you sir plum” Plum: oh im not worried about anything like that? i just dont know much about them, are you gonna be alright walking around in the sun and all that shit. also just plum Finn: im sensitive to sun light and i wont be able to travel with you during day time. im not sure how we should go about that yet Plum: even while you're a bat? Finn: yeah, even as a bat. when ive been with my uncle closed carts have proven to help with it. i need to be shielded properly from the sun.. then it should be okay

Ghester: “I feel I should note this since it feels applicable but that the brown one… I feel an almost similar presence to that of your own” a beat “though the purple one….im trying to place his ilk exactly Psalm: the purple one being finn? he's a vampire right? Ghester: “yes! vampire thats what he is" and a chuckle “I haven’t seen a being like this in millennia, you do well to entertain Psalm, all sorts of kinds of people to befriend” Psalm: haha because that's absolutely what i want from all of this, back to 'the brown one. You're saying he was on the brink of death and some god swooped in and saved him? so what is he warlock? Ghester: you hear a humming noise psalm "perhaps, if he isnt undead, i feel something on him, reminds me of myself, but not exactly" he pauses "curious" Psalm: vague as ever Ghester: you hear a laugh "im old theres quite alot for me to remember sometimes" he pauses "youll see when you're older” Psalm: so you're saying your memory's gone bad because you're old ? some excuse. I guess i'll keep an eye out though. in secret so keva doesn't kill me anyways.

Psalm moves to rejoin the group after his conversation with Ghester, sidling up to Plum and Finn’s conversation while Keva and Orin have their conversation with one another out of earshot.

Keva: i eye orin carefully "are you okay? are you hurt anywhere" Orin: as you speak to orin he smiles "im fine but i can see why youd be worried hah" as you observe him this close you can clearly see now some old scars on his face he did not have before Keva: I GET ANGRY AGAIN AND SLAP HIM UPSIDE THE HEAD [Orin yelling OW here] i'm hissing "are you- are you fucking- do you even know- do you have any idea what you put me thru and THAT'S what you have to say to me oooooohhhh my fucking gods you're lucky there are other people here or i'd beat your face in so hard it would come out your ASS" also i hit him a couple more times while i say that Orin: he puts his hands up to brace against your hits but regretfully, but he seems to understand "i did look for you yknow! but when you were nowhere in the city..." he sighs "i was little glad for it though, meant those thugs wouldnt find ya"

Psalm: psalm like hmm maybe i'll keep what i just learned to myself while watching this don't want keva to brain me

Keva: i'm breathing harder while talking "so what the fuck did you get yourself into now? GODS i thought you were fucking dead i thought i was- and i wouldn't even be able to bury you and-" keva tryin not to tear up Orin: He looks sadly at you as you say that "im sorry" he glances back over at vorde "boss vorde over there helped me out when i was running about the city, when i uh...well..." he thinks "to cut it short i dont have memory of what happened to me after you left...when i came too i could well" and he thinks "i could use magic? is how i would put it Keva: i look at him confused "what do you mean you could use magic? what happened?" Orin: "i was also confused! i also didnt know how to use it at all" he pauses "it was kind of scary, few days later boss vorde over there found me in the city, he offered to help me figure out how to get a grasp on what was going on, he hired me to work for him too" he starts to smile, very sincere Keva: i rub my eyes partially to wipe tears but also bc i'm trying to piece things together [he puts a hand on your shoulder reassuringly] "okay so, you permanently work for him now" i say with my hands still on my face Orin: "i mean, for the moment" he thinks "i was a bit suspicious as well at first, he does alot of uh..spying and such" a beat "but i dont have much of an issue with what he does, and he keeps me informed and most of the time he seems to be investigating real bastards too." he huffs "feels like get to enact a little good sometimes" he turns back to Keva "half of why i joined him too is because he seems to travel alot" and he pauses "well i figured maybe id come across you too eventually" a smile Keva: i eye him for a bit considering how happy he seems with his new situation Orin: he eyes you back keva "at any rate...glad your alright" he pauses "and were coworkers now" he laughs a little Keva: i eye him a bit longer while thinking before sighing with acceptance and as i do so i let my head fall forward until my forehead hits his chest Orin: he envelops you into a big bear hug Keva: my voice muffled in his shirt "i can't believe you're goin to leave me with these chodes again"

Orin: he laughs "they seem...interesting?" a pause "its always good to meet new people" he ruffles your hair Keva: i hold on a little longer before letting go "i think we have to go" i eye his scars and gently touch one of them "don't do anything stupid again" Orin: he smiles at you keva "ive been in safe hands so far, same to you" he looks back at vorde before giving you a noogie and walking back over to Vordes side Keva: i "rrrrrr" a little at the noogie and i join the others too

As the two reconcile, Psalm, Plum and Finn try and come up with ways they could carry Finn around or allow him to travel with them during the day, brainstorming with one another, eventually they call over Rokka for his input on the topic. In the meantime Han continues detailing information to Vorde that seems pertinent.

Han: we know one mans been branded but he seems alive and well, albeit a fucking weirdo Vorde: "i see, the man i sent orin and finn after then" he pauses "guess he failed to look that closely" and he kind of sighs in a very subdued way "i wouldn't worry if he's alive but...it is good to know in any case, ill keep him in mind" Han: we also know the red letterheads are definitely still using our faces to get around. at least plums for certain. Vorde: i assumed they would, why drop your faces now that your wanted fugitives. If people recognise them they can drop it easily enough in the moment

Han: "actually, we nabbed one of the assassins from the ball... most info are things you already said just connected better, but they also mentioned theyord speaks to his "disciples" in their minds, if that helps any." han looks away awkwardly "both of those people are dead now." Han: "another thing of matter... you know we left with one of the victims. vildristin. he is a store keep up in shorewater and also a member of the berryl accord. i dont know the exact things the berryl accord does but i cant imagine they are going to make things easier. we believe they were scrying on him when we left him." Vorde: he taps a finger on his crossed arms "i know of the man yes, he seems powerful if a little simple" he ponders your statement "I caught wind a wizard of theirs arrived earlier in the day, i suppose shes already gotten to work" he thinks "you knew he was being scryed on? how"

Keva: vinny sneezes from the hallway Psalm: the one scrying on him "bless u"

Vorde: vorde seems to furrow his brow slightly "people who are being scryed on typically do not know that they are, hence why it is such a powerful spelll" a beat "this Vildristin is curious indeed" Han: just keep an eye out on him, for your and our sakes Vorde: he considers that for a moment with his cold gaze "kind of you. If you know where he is, it would be possible for me to keep tabs on him for periods at a time at least" Han: "currently he is holed up in [rennys inn] with some friends, otherwise his shop is on [street name goes here]"

Han: and han would like to whisper "im not here to start a fight, but i want to make my position clear. i dont trust you, and you have done very little to make me trust you back. however... it would be silly to think that you trust us any more then we trust you. and... if not now, then later, i would insist on telling me where your loyalties lie." Vorde: he eyes you as you go his expression of distaste not shifting in the slight "I would find you stupid and blind if you trusted me at this point in time and vice versa, i feel that was quite evident from our earlier conversation" he eyes you cooly "If you want to build a rapport than i suggest you do not approach people you are negotiating with with such denseness" Han: "i have no interest in playing pretend or making nice here, so i thought i would state the obvious" and smiles mockingly sweet Vorde: he continues to eye you his face going neutral once more "apologies for assuming you would require dignity then madam" he turns, ending the conversation

As this happens Finn briefly plays around with transforming and turning into a bat, hiding underneath Psalm’s cloak as the others watch.

Finn: psalm, rokka and plum are briefly flashed by a light. before them a little bat is flapping around. he swiftly takes to flying under psalms cape, hanging himself upside down, around where psalms back is.

Finn: okay im squeaking then,....positively? its comfy, after a few minutes of comfyness i emerge again...... the flash blinds everyone again for a moment and im back to normal! zalgo! "i think that could work.. thank you for the offer psalm." Psalm: alright, glad i could help for now Ghester: finn for a moment you also hear a voice suddenly pipe up in your head "good to meet you " and laugh before it fades away Finn: i look around to look for the voice. "???" visibly written on my face. Psalm: :psalmface: something the matter? Finn: "nothing at all.." he doesn't know wtf that was but better not to look senile rn. "did you hear anything or was that just me?" Psalm: no. maybe it was just the wind?

Pondering what just transpired Finn turns and notices Vorde making to leave, he moves to give him and Orin a quick wave. Vorde states he’ll be leaving Finn in the groups care before giving Finn a small bow back, turning and heading down the opposite end of the street. Orin gives both Finn and Keva a quick wave and follows him, the two eventually disappear from sight.

The group discuss what to do next, deciding they’re in need of some supplies, making to head towards the docks where Nickel had pointed out his base of operations was earlier. Rokka laments his form as a human for the moment which Finn reacts supremely confused towards hearing until the party fill him in on the whole Lupin thing. As the group make their way down Psalm also sidles up to converse with Keva about the things he gleaned from Ghester about Orin.

Psalm: keva can i talk to you for a second Keva: no Psalm: your decision, it's about your friend but if you would rather not speak to me i understand. forget i said anything then Keva: i give a tired "what" Psalm: oh so you're interested? Keva: i can change my mind if you don't get on with it

Psalm details that he may have made a pact with a being of some sort, and that his situation sounds a little similar to something he’s heard of before. He implies it’d be a good idea to keep an eye on him anyway since this is mostly conjecture.

Psalm: it's not like i know why he isn't dead for real

Keva: yyyeeaaahh okay Psalm: good! great talk!

The group all eventually make their way to the docks and sus out where Nickel’s base of operations is. As they peer about they watch alot of people around here come and go moving items off of boats and ships lit up by lantern lights. They all quickly come across a wooden building half covered by a large grey cloth tent, people wearing similar outfits to Nickel coming and going periodically.

The group head inside and find him in a cluttered looking space, things hanging from the ceiling of the tent and crates abound, Nickel himself behind a busy desk before he looks up and warmly regards the group before him.

Psalm: i did say you'd be the first person i'd come to if i was ever in need Plum: sammy good? not dead yet? hahaha Nickel: he eyeballs you psalm and laughs "always love a faithful customer" he looks over at you plum "doing well, not come back as a corpse as far as i know?"

The group ask about for items they desire and things of interest, Psalm subtly eyeballs the inside of the storefront seeing if he can spot any Lupin claws as well (he doesn't) though Nickel does eyeball Rokka in his human form for a moment. After finishing up their shopping spree and lamenting how poor they all are, Nickel gives them a warm farewell, thanking them for their patronage and the group exit. Finding themselves once again back in the empty cavern of the Withered Bone, the group ponder what to do next, the weariness of the day finally starting to fill their bodies. The late evening has finally come, though down here it's hard to tell when the day ends...

Once again, the ‘mystery customer’ was striking.

That sounding pretty ominous, it was nothing that serious. It was just that every week, always on a different day, they’d get that girl coming in. And she’d come at times it was pretty dead, most likely to get the same barista. There she always went, leaning on the counter, giving these soft eyes and these sweet words, and she’d leave with her order. It was never the same order either, she just… drank of everything, apparently. Your fave could never.

Somehow, she was indeed having an effect on that barista she was messing with, but that didn’t make her any less frustrating to deal with. Yeah, the flirting was nice, but if she had a set name it’d just be so much easier, wouldn’t it ? Because giving a different name every week was getting a little old.

Of course, the barista would get quite frustrated after some time, how couldn’t she ? It’d been going on long enough. And the list of names… were similar, for some. Sometimes just complete unrealistic jokes. She could remember them all - Race, Racer, Racetrack, Antonio, Anthony, Tony, even Edmund and Ed,… Pretty Girl, too. Maybe this one was fitting, but Berta absolutely refused to believe any of these other names were that “pretty girl’s” name. For one, some of these weren’t names, and well… the others were masculine, and judging by that last nickname, she wasn’t a guy.

Either way, the redhead had a hard time staying calm as the blonde began babbling, her oddly squeaky voice fitting so well with her messy accent and pronunciation, her tripping over words and her obnoxious giggle sounding somewhat endearing… Okay, maybe she totally wasn’t paying attention to what she was being told and she got too busy getting lost in thought, but who could blame her ?

… Right, herself.

Once she woke from this kind of weird daydreaming phase, she tried to harden her expression a little. “Okay, yeah. And the order ?” She said, maybe a little harshly. But it didn’t bother her customer, whose grin widened despite her cheeks perhaps darkened a tad.

Quad venti blonde breve latte, extra hot, no foam, four pumps vanilla, three pumps cinnamon dolce, two white mocha, stirred, light whip, extra cinnamon topping.

This was ridiculous. Once again, the girl’s order had to be ridiculous. Maybe that was one time too much, and that “one time too much” the barista didn’t bother waiting for the girl to give her a name. No, she was choosing it herself. It was obvious to see on the blonde’s face that she wasn’t exactly expecting that, but did she really have a choice ? No.

“Look at it once you’re outside,” Berta muttered, groaning quietly when the girl smiled again and poked her cheek before making her way out, whistling pretty loud - and getting looks from other customers, although admittedly there really weren’t that many. It still grabbed some of them’s attention, enough for them to notice the barista quickly yet quietly following after her, letting her coworkers take care of the place if even just for a few minutes.

Keeping sight of the blonde wasn’t the hardest task. She hadn’t gone far, just walked a few metres away and was now reading the name written on her cup with some sort of surprise.

Endearing, the shorter girl would tell you.

Casually enough, she made a few steps until she was close enough to the girl, before pausing and more or less working up the courage to talk. She wasn’t all that good at communication all the time, but she still tried. “So, Foxy,” she called out, causing the other to jump and turn around. Her gaze was always as captivating, perhaps due to how obviously emotional it was - reading her mind was impossible, but her state of mind was all too obvious at all times. What really got Berta though, it surely was how evident the blush on her face was. Striking, such a contrast with her blue eyes and her blond curls, that pink really fit well. Made her look softer, and maybe a little less insufferable.

Her lips moved incoherently for a few seconds before she frowned, and pointed at the cup. “Y'ain’t wrote that, it’s ‘Vixen’ on it,” she protested, getting the other to raise an eyebrow. Maybe it’d been easy to guess making that flirty girl flustered wasn’t hard at all, but it still gave her some satisfaction. Oh, and also it was cute.

“I know what I wrote and I know vixens are foxes.” That sure wasn’t the answer that girl had hoped for. Berta could see her bite down on her lip as she thought of a reply.

“… Yea, but– still. Why’s that anyways, I 'on’t look like a fox !”

“Reminded me of one.”

Could the girl make it any more obvious that she clearly wasn’t used to being teased ? Or, flirted with, depending on how she took it. Either way, just one more endearing, sweet thing about that cute fellow, and it kind of made the former more confident.

This time though, maybe she actually put some thought into what she was about to say. Nothing crazy, but she’d always worked on that “speaking before thinking” basis, pretty much ; having to really work out some sort of appropriate response, or even question for the situation. Because in the end, that barista had ended up following her outside, there must’ve been a reason. Yes, that’d be her question.

“So… What’s ya doin’ here ? Ain’t ya workin’ ?” She uttered, her accent somewhat worsened. Oh, maybe because she was chewing on the… the cup. Was that a stress reliever ? Whatever.

“I wanna get your name.”

“What, I gave–”

“Your real name, so I don’t sob to my friends about a cute girl named Anthony,” Berta insisted, almost mockingly - although that was all light-hearted. The poor girl seemed to whimper after “cute girl”. Haha, she found her cute, she could die happy was what the whimper meant.

“Well… 'f ya want my name, then I bet you should invite me for a sleepover some time !” The blonde tried. It probably came off as silly, even if Berta just thought it adorable.

“A… sleepover ?”

“Yea, like… the best kind'a date.” She continued, managing to sound genuine about it. “It ain’t too fast if I’ been comin’ to your shop for two months. We can totally have a sleepover.”

“But I could be a murderer an’ kill you in your sleep.”

“Bitch, wha’s the issue here ? I’d die a happy death.” She retorted - maybe a little too quickly. A chance she hadn’t pulled out the whole “oh, crush me with your arms” or any sort of stupid stuff she looked like she would totally say. And the redhead clearly wasn’t wrong about that, that kind of answer had definitely come out of that girl’s mouth a few times… Maybe she shouldn’t be thinking about it.

“So, name ?”

She seemed embarrassed to say it. “Anya.”

“That’s a real pretty name.”

“Yea, shut ya’ trap, spare me the compliments.” Anya groaned, her gaze wandering elsewhere. “ ’S just a name.”

“Sure, Anya,” Berta answered with a chuckle, shaking her head. “So you said a sleepover ?”

“Yea.”

“Then gi'mme your phone number or something.”

“Ya wrote yours on the cup.”

“… Ah, I did that.”

“Yea.”

It was her time to be embarrassed again, it seemed. Had she really forgotten so easily ? That was a shame for sure, but Anya wouldn’t be too bothered by it, she could tell.

“Anyway, I’m… I’m gonna need to go back to work. Maybe come more often. Oh, and you don’t have to run away everytime, you can drink it at the shop,” the shorter girl offered. It's either them, or no DJs at all, so Temmie reluctantly agreed to help me find some other DJs to help us.

So we did! We found a pair of sisters who've been running a radio show ever since, according to them, the old DJ got fired for being too abrasive and rude to the callers. Things are looking up for us, so far!

He does not know that we are the same person, and I intend to keep it that way. It is absolutely paramount that I prevent him from finding out that the brunette, pigtail-haired human woman, and the skeleton monster wearing the bunny hood, are one and the same."
