Came to the conclusion that I wanted a fursona to take the place of Red in my story thing with Nebo, Jericho, and Kikuo. It'll be easier on my brain to ship furries with each other lol-

So I made this guy! He's a black cat, ironically nicknamed "Lucky" for his absolutely abysmal luck.

March was a busy month! For one thing, I sat down and came up with my fursona. Keep in mind it is not at all based on any real species, this is pure 'I wanna swipe all the bat shapes that I think are fun'.

#fursona #bat #character design #furry #I guess technically yeah #I'm neutral on drawing animal people but I was asked what my fursona would be #and I've loosely felt that if I had to be a standard idea of a furry (aka more human then not) I would be a bat #if I was a 'more animal then human' furry then I'd be a cat #I haven't thought much of drawing furries largely bc I tend to put pressure on myself that no one else is #and for furries I felt I would need to know which exact animal I'm referencing and know my animal anatomy on top of human #and then seriously consider how the skeleton and musculature combination of both would look like #and none of that was up my ally #The friend who asked about my fursona kindly reminded me that a fursona could be for fun and not worry about all of that lol

it feels kind of weird being an artist that mainly draws animal people n anthros & that being the main kind of thing people usually come to my page for, but not being able to relate to like most of the furry community in general (specifically when it comes to art + kind of characters i draw)

#this isn't supposed to be anything negative abt furries i just feel like my characters do Not really fit the category of “furry” #or at least when you think abt what a furry “Should” look like by the community or every1 else #folks tend to find my anthro art first and like those more than anything. but find that most of my art which is just my ocs mind you #isn't just your generic furry Art bc my ocs are either very humanoid or flat faced lil guys & disappointing ppl scares me lol #i feel like they're in a weird limbo between “too humanoid-looking to be anthro” and “too many animal traits to be humanoid” #but maybe that's just me idk how to really word this correctly? #i have a few reasons why i don't rly call myself a “furry artist” or my ocs “furry” & this is one of those reasons #but i'm not getting into those other reasons cause. yeah lmao??? #yadda yadda my art + ocs are too niche to belong in the community but it's not like i ever called myself part of it anyway & don't want to #wolfe.txt #vent-ish post this got a bit long here sorry o_o

Of course! :D (Also hiii followers. Yeah I'm a furry and I adore fursuits!) This will be FULL OF LINKS so enjoy!!

So this is a hypothetical team-up, I don't think these artist have collabed in the past. And yeahhhhh it would be WICKED EXPENSIVE. We can all dream, though!

My first two IMMEDIATE thoughts were TheBeastcub and Radula Castion.

TheBeastcub is known for absolutely crazy precise work, engineering marvels, and of course, QUADSUITS. You know, fursuits that allow people to walk on all fours!

The Conductor/Engineer isn't a hyperrealistic character, we all know this but! TheBeastcub's range is truly incredible. Seriously, peep their media tab on twitter for a treat! Here's a lava phoenix they made! They make super cool bird talon gloves! They work with real feathers! This one speaks for itself!

But one great thing is they make suits for disabled clients. They made this MIND BOGGLINGLY BEAUTIFUL SUIT for a wheelchair bound client! I was at a loss for words when I saw this.

So we have this versatile, incredibly talented maker. But animatronics, who would add those?

Look no further than Radula Castion, who makes the most lifelike movements I've ever seen in a suit. (TW for their twitter for some spooky things!)

Look at this! And this! The snarling, the ears move, the eyes blink... Here's a wireframe WIP of a dinosaur I think! A WIP of that first suit... And more of them!! And even more :)

But my favorite is this lion! Look at these EXPRESSIONS!! Just BRILLIANT!! Look at that ear movement!!

Other makers that I think would be brilliant in a project like this:

Crystumes! Another maker of incredibly realistic suits! Makes great hinged jaws and BIRDS!

A total 180 switch, but ElkCraft! (Tw bright colors!) Well knows for never shying away from the most complex characters, this maker is toony to the max!

And last but not least! Not a fursuit maker but a stellar cosplayer, WillowCreativ! Fantastic at using LEDs, makes legit ANIMATRONIC WINGS, and made quite possibly the coolest werewolf costume of all time.

So if we could somehow get most/all of these artists to collaborate on one big project for you, and had a ton of money, your idea for a suit IS within the realm of possibility!! :D
