the dream with the metaphorical knife-twist-to-the-heart ending

had a dream where like, i was trapped in some facility and me and bunch of other people were about to be sacrificed to some demon in a demon ritual. but because the demon was being summoned via a TV, i decided to try diving toward the power cord to see if unplugging the cord would stop the demon and thus save everyone's life. it somehow did, and then i went unconscious

when i wake up, i'm on the facility's campus but the main building is gone. i then see a nearby hub for the phoenix area's bus system. so i decide to go to the apartment i once lived in, except vaguely knowing "but i don't live there anymore, so why am i trying to get there anyway?" but of course being a dream, the bus routes didn't make any sense

while on one of the buses, a group of people were like "we finally found you" and slapped this weird purple thing on my arm, which transformed me into spyro the dragon for some reason.

i’ve never really played spyro in my life (like, a few minutes of one i think it was one of the ones on xbox 360?) so no idea why my dream decided spyro of all things lmfao

anyway, so now that i can fly and these people can also fly, they lead me to this big rectangular complex outside of the city. they reveal that back when i unplugged the tv, it transformed everyone into various anthropomorphic animals, and me into spyro, who then teleported and restructured the facility into a safe haven complex for the transformed, and then i guess disappeared afterwards with no memory that that happened.

anyway, so i'm having a tour of the complex and liking it because "finally a place i can belong!" but then i check this monitor that has the like, complex's discord server and see that like the community leader is a huuuge harry potter fan (and more specifically, the main villain of harry potter WHICH MAKES IT EVEN WORSE) which was just like "oh no. hhhhh nope i don't think this is going to work. the real me isn’t welcome here either. guess back to being lonely."

(for context, uh, harry potter's author is known for being hugely transphobic and ugh. this and other bigotries are very woven into her writing. so you can see how this end of the dream was basically a massive "fuck you")
