Yearning Allegations
Tumblr media
Pairing: Paige Bueckers x reader
Word Count: 1.3k
Genre: Friends to lovers slowburn
Summary: You've liked Paige for the longest time. Is there any chance she likes you too?
Paige Bueckers was your best friend.
She was also one of the most popular players on the Uconn Huskies.
Although many loved her, none of them knew her like you did. Most certainly, none of them loved her like you did.
You had known her since the first year of high school, where you two hit it off in English class, teasing her about how slowly she read. She had just shot some stupid comment back at you, and from then on, you two were inseparable - which is why you were sitting courtside at this very moment, happily watching her play.
"And that's time, another win for Uconn!!"
The announcer shouted loud as Paige threw the basketball at the last second, arcing perfectly into the net. She beamed wide as she turned around, her cheeks pink with pride, scanning the crowd for you. Her eyes seemed to shine a little brighter, or so you thought, upon landing on you.
She grinned in your direction, nodding slightly at you, as she ran past you to congratulate her teammates. They tackled her, nearly knocking her over. The crowd's roar was racious in your ears, their shouts nearly as loud as yours. Uconn had won again. You smiled to yourself, Paige was gonna be absolutely insufferable after this. She always was after games like these.
You waited patiently outside the change rooms, scrolling mindlessly on tiktok, waiting for Paige to finish up. Usually, she stayed a few extra minutes afterward, yapping with the team about whatever, and then would come out with KK, jokingly bickering about some nonsense. You hadn't been waiting more than 5 minutes when Paige came bounding out alone, grinning proudly. You grinned back, amused. She was like a 6 ft tall puppy.
"Yooo y/n, did you see me out there??!" Paige threw her arm around you as you guys started the familiar walk to her dorm. After wins, she'd refuse to let you get any work done so you didn't even bother going back to your dorm at this point.
"Yeah, I saw!!" You say, unable to stop yourself from smiling back. Paige's smile was genuinely infectious.
"Dude, I'm the best hooper at Uconn for reallll hahah." Her laughter echos around the hallway.
You roll your eyes and pat the hand she has draped over your shoulder.
"Ehhhh, I think you're alright"
Paige scoffs at you, eyebrows raised.
"Come on, just alright?? You love me, don't lie. " Her eyes are alight with happiness and you fight the corners of your mouth, looking away.
"That play at the end was eh, I've seen better"
Paige rolls her eyes, scoffing yet again before holding the door open for you, leaning against it.
"You're a terrible liar y/n"
Before you can reply, Paige ruffles your hair, and you bat her hand away, complaining. She grabs your hand, and you bodycheck her, but to no avail, cause she takes off running to her dorm just to annoy you on purpose. But you laugh anyway, cause it's so typical Paige.
---
It's only a few days later when you find yourself at an infamous Uconn house party, and the alcohol in your system is making your cheeks feel warm. Your red solo cup of vodka is half empty, and you peer at it, wondering if you should leave your comfy spot on the kitchen counter.
You're admiring Paige from across the room, watching her talk to some fans.
She looks hot as hell tonight, dressed in a black cropped tank top and low waisted baggy black cargo pants. Her middriff is on display, and a tiny bit of her boxers peak out. For a second you wonder about what'd it feel like to put your hands there but you force yourself to stop thinking about her, nails digging into your palms as you take another sip of your drink.
Your feelings for Paige had only intensified over the years, becoming harder and harder to ignore as you two got older. In high school, you could just explain it all away because she was your best friend, but now? You guys had only become closer since starting at Uconn, and these days resisting the urge to make a move was becoming nearly unbearable, especially with the looming fact that everyone and their mother wanted Paige.
Normally, you'd just go over to her and yap her ear off, but the amount of alcohol you've had tonight makes you feel like being around her might be a bit dangerous.
So instead, you just stare from afar, watching her put her arm around the girl who's exclaiming she's "her biggest fan." You roll your eyes, inner monologue already snarkly thinking that Paige gets told that at least once a day.
You're so engrossed in watching Paige take pictures- she's now laughing with the fan over some stupid joke- that you don't notice KK's slid over to you.
"Damn girl, you really ain't beating the yearning allegations huh"
Her voice shocks you out of your reverie, and you glance over at her.
"Huh!?? What do you mean-"
KK's eyes are knowing, and she just raises one brow as she pours herself a new drink.
"Boo, we all see the way you look at her"
You roll your eyes, trying to play it cool. Although you're pretty sure the whole team already knows how you feel, you still refuse to admit it cause what if that got back to Paige? You want her, but not more than your friendship. You could never forgive yourself if something happened to you two. You resist the urge to do anything about how you feel solely to protect your friendship.. but also because you're scared. What if she doesn't like you like that? It'd probably just make everything awkward anyway.
"I don't know what you're talking about- Paige's just my friend." You keep your voice steady, but your expression darkens as you see the girl is STILL talking to Paige, her hand lingering on Paige's waist as she draws back from a hug.
"Uh huh.. whatever you say, " KK says, leaving the kitchen with her refill.
A few minutes later, you're busy answering some texts when Paige comes over.
"Hey, KK told me you're being all edgy and hiding out in the kitchen instead of having fun at the party. You're scaring off the hoes, dude. "
Paige is always more affectionate than normal when she's drunk, and tonight is no different. She places her hand on your thigh, grinning as she peers at your face, and you look at her for a few seconds before you move off the counter to stand.
"I'm not hiding, I was dancing a bit ago I just got tired-" This is technically not a lie, considering you did dance for a few minutes before deciding to become the next Joe Goldberg.
"Rightttt..." Paige towers over you, an annoying fact that hasn't changed since high school.
You're about to reply with some smart ass answer when some girl walks into the kitchen, cup in hand, her jaw dropping open as she spots Paige.
"Oh my God, Paige Bueckers?!?" The girl's voice raises practically 3 octaves, and you feel so annoyed you resist the urge to just sigh at the sight.
"I love you so much! I was watching you the other day - that final score was so good you really clutched the game-" The girl gushes, her hand resting on Paige's arm. Paige is, of course, grinning broadly. She loves the attention - and you can practically feel a headache coming on from the sound of the girl's voice.
"My head hurts real bad, gonna go back to my dorm-" You murmur as you pass Paige to leave.
"Oh, are you okay?" Her attention is momentarily distracted by your leave, and you try to inject some pep into your voice.
"Yeah, I'm fine."

Authors note: Hope yall don't mind a slowburn! Thought it'd be cute to make a short series <3

sweet nothing . . . eren yeager x reader
y/n gets food poisoning, but luckily her knight in shining armor (sweatpants) is there to save the day
sickfic, modern au, emetophobia, hurt/comfort
by @cinnamon-girl-writes!
Tumblr media
You flushed the toilet and watched the former contents of your stomach disappear.
Pushing your h/c hair out of your eyes, you sighed heavily. You had had a miserable past two hours, being able to keep nothing down, not even soup.
It had all started that afternoon when you and some of your friends (not including your boyfriend, Eren) had eaten at a taco truck on the beach that Armin had sworn would be delicious. You mentally cursed the blonde man as you rinsed your mouth out in the sink.
“How’re you doing?” you hear from behind you. You turn to see Eren leaning against the doorframe of the bathroom.
“Terrible,” you respond gloomily. As you try to pass him to go lay back down, he pulls you into a bear hug.
“I’m sorry, mama. Do you want something to eat?” Eren said apologetically. You shook your head, burying your face in his muscled chest. You absolutely hated being sick.
“All I really wanna do is sleep,” you said plainly. Eren could see the exhaustion behind your eyes, so he helped you to the couch so you could lie down for a while. You turned on your favorite movie, Howl’s Moving Castle, and promptly fell asleep twenty minutes in.
Eren was by your side the whole time, giving you enough space to breathe but also being there to comfort you. He sat beside you on the couch (you decided that sitting up was the best approach due to your queasy stomach) with his arm slung across the back of the couch behind you to support your head. Once he noticed you were asleep, he pressed gentle kisses to your forehead, whispering sweet nothings even though he knew you couldn’t hear them. Maybe they would help you have peaceful dreams, he thought.
After a few hours you started stirring. You woke up drowsily, asking what time it was and how much you had slept. Eren informed you that it was five thirty and you had been out for three hours.
You grumbled, laying your head against your boyfriend’s chest.
“You need something to eat, mama. It’s almost time for dinner and you haven’t eaten since you’ve been sick.”
After a drawn-out sigh, you agree. Eren tucks you in and gives you the remotes as he goes to the kitchen to prepare you some food.
He’s decided to make you miso soup since it’s one of your favorite foods and it’ll be easy to keep down, hopefully. He carefully prepares the dish, adding in just the right amounts of each ingredient how he knows you like it.
Meanwhile, you sat on the couch idly watching the evening news, your movie having ended long ago while you were asleep. Not much has happened lately in your city; a new restaurant opened, another class of seniors graduated from the local highschool, there was a parade downtown this weekend.
Finding yourself bored, you turned around to see what your boyfriend was up to in the kitchen. You found him shirtless, wearing only a pair of gray sweatpants with his long dark hair pulled into a bun behind his head. You smiled to yourself, hiding your face behind the couch cushions. Silently, you admired Eren from afar: his chiseled abs, defined arms, and-
“Enjoying the view, babe?” Eren teased as he turned off the stove, pouring hot golden broth into a bowl.
You blushed, turning back around. He came around the couch and set the steaming bowl in front of you on the table.
“Y’know, I’m beginning to think that you don’t hate being sick after all . . . “ your boyfriend joked, pulling you in for a hug. He pinched your sides playfully, pressing sweet kisses to the side of your head.
“I hope you feel better soon, baby,” he said solemnly.
“Yeah, me too,” you dejectedly responded.
You ate your soup, opting to lay in bed after you were done. Eren stayed by your side, as always, pulling you close and smoothing your hair as you fell asleep.
“Sweet dreams, baby.”

Look at the end of the day this isn't an "eat the rich" situation, watcher IS an indie studio, but they made a terrible financial decision. Only a fraction of their most loyal fanbase is going to subscribe to their streaming service. And getting new subscribers is gonna be virtually impossible. In my opinion, this is because:
1. Currently, the general market is NOT happy with the overabundance of streaming services so they are cutting back and not getting new ones.
2. Even if the market is against streaming services, they are subscribirse to the ones that they view, like it's worth their money, which means not only quality products but also a good amount of them. Historically, watcher produces maybe 8 videos a month? Not all of the fanbase watches all of their series.
3. They missread the fanbase. What made watcher fun was them. It was their banter and interactions, it wasn't because they had THE best tech in the market or THE best studio and graphics and effects.
So yeah, they missed the mark, they are human tho so it's not like i will completely boycott them and spread hate and all, I'm jjst enjoying the funny comments about this objectively bad decision, i won't subscribe, and i will keep my eye out to see if they decide to roll this decision back (in which case i would continue watching them)

i honestly really dislike the palace rulers being treated so drastically different from akechi in the fandom. even though there's still people who refuse to say anything positive about akechi because he's a terrible guy, the majority of the fandom still treats him like a character and read into his backstory, behaviour, and motivations.
but when it comes to the palace rulers, there's not a single ounce of that attitude for them. it's so strange because not even the story itself has such a crazy bias; the same amount of sympathy towards akechi is given towards the palace rulers too. madarame and okumura are my most obvious examples, with yusuke often expressing his conflicting feelings on the matter, and haru learning about her father's motivations through takakura during her confidant.
in that sense, joker and akechi's relationship parallels that of haru/yusuke and the respective father figure; the two mutually love and care for each other, but unfortunately, one cares more for themselves and it causes their bond to break.
the cut backstories for the palace rulers add a lot to their character, and maybe that's why i like them so much. it makes them feel as rounded out as akechi was (in vanilla, i know he's much more humanized in royal's third semester. that might add to the bias, actually) and it makes me feel kind of bad for those sick, twisted bastards.
but obviously, that content was cut, and it's not very widespread knowledge, unlike akechi's backstory which he explains in-game, right in your face, unavoidably.
there's also this thing i've noticed that i call "fandom activism" where any deep analysis into a good-written character that is a genuinely bad person is seen as condoning their actions because WE ALWAYS HAVE TO SHUN THE EVIL GUY!!! WE CAN'T TALK ABOUT THEM IN CASUAL CONVERSATION!!! WE NEED TO HOLD A FICTIONAL CHARACTER ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE NOT REAL AND...... the way we treat them makes no difference in the world? huh.
personally, i was informed that the way i talk about kamoshida makes people uncomfortable. it's not like i said anything creepy about him, all i do is read into him the same way one would with akechi. he's a genuinely good villain, the same way akechi is! and his mindset is really interesting to look into!!!!! i think they're all missing out!!!!!!!!
my last line of defense is that the palace rulers are unfortunately made way less conventionally attractive than akechi is. that's something i don't like about them, and the fact that everyone lets that sway their opinions of them even less. i know atlus pulls the "make the unsympathetic character ugly" shtick a lot and it's suuuuuuuuuuck.
yeah. i'm kind of peeved about this and i thought you were the best person to send this to. kaneshiro isn't a cute twink but i'm still going to love him with the little attention he gets........... :')
FRICKEN NAILED IT THERE! NICE JOB!👍👍👍😭😭😭 AND I CAN RELATE TO YOUR PAIN AND STRUGGLES!

A Not-So-Disastrous Romance (Book 1) Chapter One
Kusuo Saiki x Reader
Chapter One: Girl Problems and Beach Woes
Summary: Saiki tries to avoid Yumehara since she has a crush on him and gets dragged to the beach.
“How do you get a girl to stop liking you?”
“I thought Teruhashi was just confused about how you don’t react to her,” said (Y/N). They weren’t offput by the sudden conversation. Saiki wasn’t one to beat around the bush. And, hey, it was nice to have people get straight to the point.
            “It’s someone else.”
“Well, aren’t you popular!” teased (Y/N).
Saiki gave them a look. “I don’t want to be.”
“Alright, I understand,” said (Y/N). “The best way to get a girl to stop liking you is to stop giving her hope, get her a different guy, or get a partner yourself. However, there are some girls who will never lose hope. In that case, it’s pointless to do anything. Only time would solve that one.”
“So if her attempts to flirt with me or get to know me don’t work, she might lose interest?”
“Yeah, unless she’s a determined one.” (Y/N) shrugged.
I already know what Yumehara is planning, but I can’t let (Y/N) know since it wouldn’t be normal. “What might a girl do?” asked Saiki.
“Hmm, she’ll probably use classic tropes like bumping into you from around a corner. She might ‘drop’ books or papers to make sure you have a reason to stick around,” explained (Y/N), “She might use a slight variation of that by dropping something of hers by you and pretending not to notice.” They smiled. “Those are some of the common ones, at least.”
            “Alright,” said Saiki.
            “Good luck!” said (Y/N).
l
The day had ended, and (Y/N) stood out in the rain. The students passed by them with umbrellas, but (Y/N) paid them no mind. The downpour was rejuvenating. It made them feel alive. They spun around, feeling the rain on their skin. Was it a little manic-pixie-dream-person? Sure. But it was also “Singing in the Rain,” which is classy and not a terrible cliché.
Yare yare. They’re going to get sick from that.
They held their arms out wide, tilting their head to the sky and closing their eyes. At that exact moment, a beam of light struck the sky. A circle of light fell down, hitting (Y/N) at just the right angle. They seemed to glow.
If someone saw them, maybe they’d say “oh, wow.” If.
The moment ended as the sky cleared, and Saiki teleported down, walking out to where (Y/N) was waiting.
“Hey, Saiki, solve your problem?” asked (Y/N), pushing their damp hair back.
“You look like that and you’re asking about me?” Saiki deadpanned more than usual.
“What’s life without a bit of romance?”
“What does dancing in the rain have to do with being in a relationship with someone?” questioned Saiki.
“Romance is also about the feeling of excitement and separation from the everyday,” said (Y/N), smiling. “I like to enjoy the little things in life. Some people like to be serious—” they grinned at him teasingly “—but I like a little fun. And anyways, you haven’t told me whether or not you solved your problem!”
Saiki looked back to where Yumehara was standing under an umbrella with a boy and blushing. He could hear her thoughts, and she was already into the new guy (although Saiki was slightly insulted about how easily she got over him). “Yeah, it all worked out in the end.”
(Y/N) followed the pink-haired boy’s gaze and saw the pair. They found it strange that the pair were under an umbrella since it was sunny outside now, but it was sweet all the same. “Aw, what a nice ending. She has happiness, and you have one less bother.”
            “Finally.”
l
A couple days later, (Y/N) headed over to Saiki’s. They were bored, planned to go to the beach, and wanted someone to go with. Coincidentally, Nendou had the same idea and was going to Saiki’s house. Together, they knocked on the door.
Yare yare. I can’t read either of their minds, so I didn’t realize it was them before opening the door. Saiki sighed inwardly.
“Hey, pal!” said Nendou, “Let’s go to the beach!”
“It’s so sunny and beautiful! You can waste tomorrow inside,” said (Y/N), knowing exactly what Saiki was up to. They put their hands on their hips and grinned. In their pink swim-shorts and white swim shirt, they weren’t very threatening.
“A-a-are they Kuu’s friends?” asked Mrs. Saiki in complete shock.
“He’s not my friend.” Then, realizing what he forgot, Saiki added, “Neither are they.”
“Wahh! This is the first time any of Kuu’s friends have come to our house to visit.” Mrs. Saiki was nearly in tears. “I’m so happy!”
“We’re best friends,” declared (Y/N) proudly, and Saiki deadpanned.
“To think that Kuu has finally gotten a best friend!” Mrs. Saiki dabbed at her eyes.
“Hey, pal, I didn’t know you had a big sister,” said Nendou.
“He thought I was his big sister! I’m so happy!” Tears continued streaming down Saiki’s mother’s face.
“Just how many times are you going to make my mom cry?” asked Saiki.
“Yeah, I’m starting to feel kinda bad, even if they are happy tears,” admitted (Y/N).
“What? What? You’re his mom?” Nendou was surprised. “Me and pinky here are off to the beach and came to ask him to join us.”
“Why am I pinky?” wondered (Y/N).
“You wear a lot of pink,” said Saiki matter-of-factly.
“Oh, that sounds nice,” commented Mrs. Saiki happily.
“Obviously, I’m not going. I’ll spare myself the pain,” said Saiki.
His mother suddenly had a scary look on her face. “Your friends went to all the trouble to come and get you. You’re going to the beach, Kusuo.”
“Oh,” said Saiki. He wasn’t going to argue with her. He may be a psychic, but she was still his mom and quite intimidating at times.
l
They had arrived at the beach finally. Along the way, the group had picked up Kaidou as well, who was now being teased by Nendou since he didn’t want to get in the water (it seemed he couldn’t swim, though he denied this).
Saiki sat down on his beach towel. (Y/N) spread theirs out beside him. They lay back and closed their eyes, basking in the sun’s warmth. A nice moment of peace was just what they needed before they started swimming.
            “Kaidou’s drowning.”
“Huh?!” They sat up suddenly, and sure enough, Kaidou was floundering on his back in three inches of water. (Y/N) breathed a sigh of relief. “You almost gave me a heart attack, Saiki!”
“I’ll save you!” came an energetic cry. A lifeguard dove into the water, sliding on his stomach because it was shallow. Unfortunately, his swimsuit got stuck in the sand, revealing his bare bottom. It was, of course, Hairo.
“Oh, it’s you, Hairo!” said Nendou.
            “Great job, Hairo!” cheered (Y/N).
“Why are you congratulating him? Kaidou wasn’t in danger.”
“Because it’s nice,” answered (Y/N). They were there to encourage their friend.
“Oh, Nendou, (Y/N)! You, too, Saiki?” commented Hairo.
Saiki didn’t answer. He was too busy reading.
“What’re you doing here?” asked Nendou after they were out of the water.
“I volunteer as a lifeguard,” explained Hairo.
“Ahhh! I’m drowning!” screamed a swimmer.
“I’m coming!” yelled Hairo. He dove into the water and swam out to sea.
“Volunteering when it’s this hot? That’s amazing,” said Nendou. “Hey, pal, pinky, aren’t you guys gonna swim?”
“Just forget I’m here,” said Saiki, not looking up from his book.
“I might in a moment,” said (Y/N), smiling.
The tall boy looked disheartened until spying a group of girls. “Okay, then!” He put on shades. “I’ll go hit on girls.”
“Do you have any idea what you’re saying?” commented Saiki.
“He lost interest in swimming pretty quickly,” said (Y/N), amused.
“Hey, have you ever looked in a mirror?” cried Kaidou from behind Nendou, “Why don’t you try walking on walker?! You have better odds of pulling that off!”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. Guys’ looks aren’t important.” Nendou gave a confident thumbs-up. “It’s all about attitude.”
While Nendou walked off and was (inevitably) rejected by multiple girls, (Y/N) turned to Saiki.
“Sorry you got dragged here,” said (Y/N).
“Weren’t you the one who invited me?” questioned Saiki.
“Well, yeah…” (Y/N) rubbed the back of their head sheepishly. “But I wanted you to come by choice. I didn’t expect your mom to be so scary.” They smiled at the pink-haired boy. “So anyways, feel free to stay here and read. If you need me, I’ll be swimming.” They stood up and headed towards the water.
“Yare yare. The other idiots are just going to come bother me, so I’ll join you.” He glanced over to where Nendou was chasing after girls. “And I don’t want people to think I’m with him.” He took off his jacket and t-shirt, stole Nendou’s floatie, and began walking to the water.
“That’s fair,” admitted (Y/N), cringing at poor, clueless Nendou.
Soon enough, the pair were swimming in the ocean. No words were needed; both enjoyed the soft sounds of the waves (Saiki was plagued by people’s thoughts, however). Saiki decided to give (Y/N) a turn in the floatie so they could relax their muscles from swimming (and so he could swim down to the bottom of the ocean to try to avoid thoughts). (Y/N) was bobbing on the waves watching the shore, not paying attention to Saiki, when something caught their attention. A young girl seemed to be floundering in the waves.
“Is that girl in trouble?” they wondered, concerned and stressed now. There was no response. “Saiki?” They frowned and turned to where their friend should be, but he was gone. Worried for the girl, (Y/N) left the floatie and began to swim over. They tried to drag the device behind them, but it was cumbersome and slowed them down. They let it go and swam to the girl, who was already sinking. (Y/N) held their breath and dove under. They dragged the girl to the surface, gasping for air. Struggling to support the unconscious woman, (Y/N) started to pull her to the shore.
Luckily, Nendou, already carrying Kaidou, arrived and helped hold the girl. “All right!” said Nendou. “You doin’ good, pinky?”
“I’m fine,” panted (Y/N), relieved to have some of the weight lifted from them.
“Hey! What happened?” asked Hairo, swimming up to them energetically.
“Oh, Hairo! Great timing,” said (Y/N).
“Give us a hand!” said Nendou.
“Sure, I’ll h—Ahh! My leg’s cramped!” Hairo began to fall below the waves.
Oh, boy. (Y/N) sighed and pulled Hairo up. They and Nendou were now holding up three people between them.
            “You, too?! Geez,” said Nendou.
            “Sorry,” mumbled Hairo.
“It’s fine, let’s just hurry to shore,” said (Y/N).
Yare yare. They’re so high maintenance. Saiki swam up from underneath them.
“This is too much for you guys! Let go of me!” said Hairo.
“Shut up!” said Nendou, but he was starting to fall underwater.
(Y/N) wasn’t fairing much better. They had already been swimming for a while before doing this, so they were exhausted. “Crap…!” They fell below the waves with Nendou and the others. Nendou grabbed them, but they continued to sink. Suddenly, they were lifted above the waves. (Y/N) felt something was support them from below.
“A-Are you standing on water?” gasped Hairo.
No, I’m holding them up, thought Saiki. He began carrying them to shore but made it appear like Nendou was running across the waves.
“See? Didn’t I tell you that you could pick up walking on water faster than you could pick up girls?” said Kaidou.
Just as they were about to the shore, (Y/N) slipped from Nendou’s grasp and fell into the water. Nendou was close enough to walk everybody to the beach, so Saiki let go of him. He dove deeper into the water and grabbed (Y/N)’s wrist, pulling them up with him. Calmly, he carried them out of the water and put them down on the beach gently. (Y/N) coughed up water but seemed unharmed.
            “Are you okay?” asked Saiki.
“I’ll feel better after some rest,” said (Y/N), smiling. “Thank you for saving me.”
Saiki sighed. It seemed to be a sound of exasperation, but it was really a sound of relief. He didn’t like his friends (acknowledged or not) being hurt. “It’s getting late. Let’s go.”
(Y/N) grinned at him. “Good idea.” They decided not to harp on Saiki helping them. They’d not tease him like that.
Saiki and (Y/N) gathered up their stuff and began walking back with Nendou and Kaidou, who had been talking to the girl who was saved.
“Knowing you, I thought you’d demand something in return for saving you,” said Kaidou to Nendou.
“Humph, I wouldn’t do something so lame,” said Nendou, “Of course, if she fell in love with me, well, I guess I’d have to live with it, right?”
(Y/N) sweat-dropped but was amused at their dramatic expressions. They doubted that in particular would happen. After all, just saving someone’s life wouldn’t make them fall in love. That being said, it was a rather nice thing to do.
And I guess it is a nice fantasy, thought (Y/N). And being saved by Saiki was fun, like a fairytale.
…Huh? That was a new thought.
            “That won’t happen,” said Kaidou.
            “What’d you say?!” demanded Nendou.
(Y/N) began laughing at their antics. They could put those thoughts on the backburner.
“You never got thanked by that girl, aren’t you upset that Nendou gets the recognition?” asked Saiki.
Huh, I thought he wasn’t around when that happened… thought (Y/N). They shrugged. “She was saved. That’s all that matters, right? I imagine that if you were saving people you wouldn’t care about recognition.”
Saiki blinked. Am I sure they aren’t a psychic?

The Yamada Family's Special Curry: Hypmic Curry Drama Track TL
Jiro: A curry battle huh…? They sure came up with a weird idea this time around…
Ichiro: I also think it’s a strange concept, but I still want to prove we’re the best. Will you two help me out?
Jiro & Saburo: Of course!!
Ichiro: Glad to hear it!
Saburo: We’re used to making curry so I think we should get started immediately!
Ichiro: Ah, about that… *places down a plate* I actually went ahead and made a prototype curry!
Saburo: As expected, Ichi-nii, you prepared something beforehand!
Ichiro: If we’re going to win over everyone, we can’t just use our usual curry. I was hoping you guys could help me perfect the ultimate curry!
Saburo: Then we’ll try the prototype so we can start ameliorating any flaws it may have!!
Jiro: A-Ameli…?? I don’t get what he just said but you can leave its flavour to me!!
Ichiro: Thanks, you two! Then, why don’t you go ahead and give it a taste?
Jiro & Saburo: Absolutely! *eats*
Jiro & Saburo: Mmm??
Jiro: This isn’t the flavour of our usual curry…! Did he really forget the most important part…??
Saburo: It’s greasy and tastes terrible…! I don’t want to say something Ichi-nii made is unpleasant but…!!
Ichiro: So how is it??
Jiro: I-I’ve never had anything like it before…
Saburo: W-what did you put in it?
Ichiro: *starts bringing out ingredients* So for the roux, I decided not to use anything you can buy from the store and made a completely original spice blend! I also used domestic A5 graded black beef and fatty mackerel!
Jiro: Yeah…?
Saburo: I see…
*phone rings*
Ichiro: Sorry, I gotta take this, it’s a work call. …Hello, how may I help you?
Jiro: *downs a glass of water* Hey Saburo, what did Nii-chan do to this curry??
Saburo: How am I supposed to know?? I can only assume he was so focused on beating the competition, failed to give it any rational thought.
Jiro: Damn it…! Even though Nii-chan’s usual curry is already the most delicious…!
Saburo: My thoughts exactly! He didn’t need to use these fancy ingredients, Ichi-nii’s curry is already exquisite…!
Jiro: We gotta bring Nii-chan back to his senses!
Saburo: As loathe as I am to work hand in hand with incompetence, there’s no other way…!
Ichiro: Sorry, guys, I’m back! So, what should I add to improve the curry?
Jiro & Saburo: *nods at each other*
Jiro: Aniki, I’ll give it to you straight. No matter what you add, this ain’t gonna be our curry!
Ichiro: What??
Jiro: I get where you’re coming from, but you shouldered this by yourself without even talking to us… Isn’t that messed up?
Saburo: I feel similarly to Jiro. If we’re going up against the other divisions, shouldn’t our bonds as brothers shine through?
Ichiro: Our bonds as brothers…?
Jiro & Saburo: And so, we should use our usual curry!
Ichiro: But, if we use our usual curry, wouldn’t you be able to tell the roux uses store bought curry and ingredients that were on sale? If we want to beat the others, then—
Jiro: But that’s what makes it our curry!
Saburo: Just like with our rap as the Buster Bros!!!, there wouldn’t be any point to winning if it’s not who we are!
Ichiro: You guys… *eats the curry* …Yeah, you’re right, this isn’t our curry. I understand what you mean!
Jiro & Saburo: …!!
Ichiro: Okay, let’s head out to the store to buy the stuff we usually use in our curry!
Jiro: Yeah! Once we hit up the shopping district, I’ll find the best bargain after a few rounds around the shops!
Saburo: According to my research, the type of roux that’s favoured across multiple age generations would be one that’s a bit sweet and hits the medium range in spiciness!
Ichiro: Thanks! I’m counting on you guys!
Saburo: Oh, there’s one more thing…
Jiro: What? We’re about to head out.
Saburo: No, it’s just, since we’re going to have to sell it, doesn’t that mean we need to come up with a name for our curry? I think the usual naming conventions revolve around the main ingredients used in the product.
Jiro: We got vegetables, fish, meat… If we go off of that, we’ve just got a variety curry.
Ichiro: We don’t even have to worry about that! No matter the ingredients, this is the “Yamada Family’s Special Curry”! And with it, the three of us will beat all the rest!!

Georgia talking about staged again and now their…… flirting? Is that what you would call putting a heart on Anna and her calling Georgia a flirt?? Radio silence from the both of them and now randomly there’s this.
Hi there! Well, I'm not sure it's really random. But let's get the visual up here first, for those who haven't seen Georgia/AL's Insta stories today:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So this seemed to start with Georgia posting the story about Staged playing on BBC iPlayer after she finished watching OFMD. The second story is the one with Georgia drawing the heart around AL, followed by the story with her drawing a heart around the glass of wine Michael is holding, and then Anna shared Georgia's story and called her a flirt.
The reason I don't believe this is random is because for the last several days, all everyone has been talking about online is Ineffable Con and Rob/Gavin's comments about the kiss between Michael/Aziraphale and David/Crowley. And as we've seen before, just when the conversation gets too focused on Michael and David, Georgia and AL post a story or photo to bring the attention back to them. It's actually fairly predictable at this point, since it's happened multiple times previously (though I would say this seems a bit more blatant than other instances, given that there isn't any reason for either of them to promote Staged right now).
My thought in regard to the "flirt" comment is that I agree with you in not understanding exactly how that reads as flirting (as it didn't come across that way to me). I do wonder if this is another attempt at Georgia and AL trying to be the female analogues to David and Michael (which we've also seen before), but it again doesn't work because they don't have that same chemistry or flirty dynamic that Michael and David have. Also, if this actually was "flirting," what was the purpose in GT circling the glass of wine? Is she flirting with the wine as much as AL? Once you look past the straightforward promotional aspect of these stories, it just seems very weird.
Weirdness is apparently the theme for the day, however, as there was also this reply from AL on Twitter earlier:
Tumblr media
If you look at the timestamps, AL replied to this tweet/Michael's tweet exactly one minute after Michael replied. Going back to the idea of predictability, there's been nonstop discussion for the past several days about Michael and David kissing, and my first thought was that she seemed to just be looking for a reply that she could jump on and insert herself, to where I would not be surprised if she has notifications set up for his tweets for just such an occasion.
Upon further consideration, I did get the feeling that her "Where can I get one?" was not at all sincere in the way that Michael's was. It came across to me as a passive-aggressive way of reasserting her position (i.e., "I'm the only one who actually gets to love Michael Sheen"). It also makes it seem like she is fighting with the fans for Michael's attention, on top of already competing with David (although let's be honest, there is no competition there). More than that, however, I also got the feeling that AL copying his comment was her way of mocking him for wanting the t-shirt at all (i.e., "Look how stupid he is for wanting this stupid shirt"). Which of course is not something she would actually say, but the copied text along with the reply coming only one minute later makes it seem a bit circumspect. And it makes me feel sad for the fan who made the original post who may not realize what is really going on.
In any case, those are my thoughts on GT and AL's social media posts today. As I've always said before, I know I could be completely wrong in my interpretations, but the timing is just too strange for me to believe it's a coincidence. I'm happy to hear others' thoughts, though...

i am not sorry for the Carmine reblogs, she has fully taken over my brain at this point.
A mixture of her being so unhinged and neurodivergent that it feels like she was made for me to like her and her very unfortunate dynamic with her little brother make her a character that I was just made to get attached to.
I want to study her under a microscope and get her help with the Kieran stuff, I want to make things worse between the two siblings, I want them to blow up at each other in a way that will make them unable to reconcile, because she failed to do everything right for her brother, because he took everything so personally and lashed out, because the two just can't fit together nicely, they're just not made for that. no matter how hard she tries to be a perfect sister, no matter how much she cares about him, I want things to go so wrong between the two. I want the pain to be so gut-wrenching it tears them appart.
but I also want them to reconcile; in another world things could be saved. carmine could recognize the way she acts hurts her little brother that she loves so dearly, she could try to reach out to him and be better, and he could accept it and they'd be able to rebuild things together.
it's a tale of two siblings that struggle to coexist. Carmine's technically the one in the wrong because she hurts Kieran, but she doesn't intend to. she struggles to realise how he feels an just tries to do it her way because she's the older sibling and knows best. she loves him and wants only the best for him, that's why she made the player lie to him, but it backfired alomst immediately.
she failed and that's the real problem. now let's hope that the Indigo Disk lets them reconcile (in a satisfying way)

The biggest recommendation I can give on writing dialogue that sounds in character for the character to say is, not to read the quests they are in, but to listen to the English dub whenever you get the chance. This may seem difficult especially if you are used to playing it in another language, but listening is key to getting the vibe of a character down. What you pay attention to is, not what they say, but the cadence in which they say it. Pay attention to the emotion in their voice, the speed at which they say things, the volume, etc. Once you get this down, it becomes easier to get an idea of what “sounds” right and what doesn’t. Cadence is an especially powerful thing. By training your ears to a character’s cadence, you can get a better idea of which words they would prefer to use, the lengths of their sentences, and things of the sort.
For example, reader asks Zhongli to dinner and he accepts. How would he respond? “Hmm, I’m not busy this evening, so I accept. Thank you for the invitation.” But that doesn’t sound right, does it? Is Zhongli the type of person that uses many contractions? I don’t think so, so let’s fix it. “Hmm, I am not busy this evening, so I accept. Thank you for the invitation.” But would he say “I accept?” Perhaps, but it still doesn’t sound right. How has he accepted proposals in the past? A bit of research shows he has said “sure.” How can I mix that in? “Hmm, I’m not busy this evening, so sure. Thank you for the invitation.” But hmm… the second sentence doesn’t sound right. What else could he say instead? “Hmm, I’m not busy this evening, so sure. It would be my pleasure.” That sounds a lot better.
Some people may ask why you can’t do these things while listening to another language. Personally, I don’t believe you can. If you are not fluent in those other languages, your ears are not properly trained enough to understand the nuance of the ways they speak. The correct emotion and tone will come through, yes, but you still won’t be able to intuitively know what sounds right and what does not. You only will get this sense by listening to it in the language you choose to write in.
The only downside to this is that your writing will become based upon the English translation of the game. As many people know, the portrayal of characters in English often does not completely match the portrayals in Chinese. This is especially so for characters like Zhongli, Xiao, and Kaeya. A lot is lost in the translation and dubbing process. Characters do not vibe the same. Thus, your portrayals will be more true to English, but not how it technically is “supposed” to be. Personally, I don’t necessarily believe this is a bad thing. However, it is something that can bother people. The only way I can imagine getting around it is by playing the game with the Chinese dub and by following accounts that speak Chinese and can give insight on the literal translations and what they mean and imply.

also i have to say there's smth consistently eye-rolly about the idea of going "oh you can't blame me for leaving her there !! i thought they were good people !! i didn't think they would do anything bad to her !!! that's why i left her there i thought she was safe !!!" as if "they" even broke that trust. according to literally all accounts the incident in question happened before you left and nothing progressed further after you were gone. accusing "them" of being horrible nasty people when again, the only wrongdoing alleged at all was on the part of one of them ???? like you can just say that while drunk you didn't make the right judgement call and once you woke up sober you checked in with your friend because thinking back you were worried abt her comfort levels without crying wolf about how you simultaneously "thought they were good safe people" and they took advantage of that after you left (by doing nothing after you left, because the whole incident being described here happened with you in the room) and also knew she was uncomfortable which is why you checked on her immediately (which is somehow being used to blame two people who had zero access to the texts asking her if she was comfortable at all and therefore made the assumptions that she was comfortable based on what they themselves saw)
