Thinking about Halloween and that first day of October, when the sun is rising and the air is crisp and cool and things feel fresh and new.

Doesn’t it feel like an infinite doorway to the impossible?

I love fussing over costume selections that were decided months ago. I love changing my mind and then back and then changing it again then returning again.

Ever run your fingertips over the bark of an autumnal tree, quietly biding it’s time, making root, making home, making quiet, making magic?

What about that perfume, so best when caught unexpected, burning leaves far off, or mulching leaves near by, of rained upon dirt, of open windows with jack o lanterns grinning, chomping on candles?

Usable in any door, any at all, be it front or back or door in a hall. Press into the key hole, I assure you it will fit, and turn, the lock will click-click-click.

The inside of the room is not what was there a moment before, but for you, just this once, something far, far, far more.

This is a space you can sit and rest and reside for as long as you like for time does not flow here, not day, not night.

There will be lounging cushions and chair and bed if you prefer, a fireplace to light at command if that is your wish, and windows to open and allow air in (if you are feeling a bit warm, or keep them closed, if the room's feeling is a bit chilly and brisk).

Time does not flow here.

Not an hour not a moment not a day not a year not a heartbeat not a month not a measure.

Stay.

Long as you like.
