Season 8, Episode 8: A Parade and a Charade
A lot happened in this last episode so there’s plenty to discuss! I’ll try to keep my thoughts...a manageable length. :)
Plotlines:
The Christopher Report
Triangle Tribulations
Bill’s Wounded Pride
Miscellaneous Stuff (FloYo, The Canfields, Dress Shop, Jesse, Infirmary)
This episode has been a little different from the others this season in that we had two pretty big plotlines going on, one medium-sized one, and a bunch of small flickers of plots. Things still managed to flow together pretty well over all, though, I think, but it was a shift I felt was noticeable.
For what it’s worth I mostly enjoyed this episode. There were a few little nitpicks (as usual) but I’ve really been feeling this season that we have a good batch of actors that work really well together and that’s been nice to see.
--
The Christopher Report
Mr. Christopher Hughes, resident Bad Boy™ and the object of Rachel’s immense and expansive Thirst™...
I’m sure his character arc is going to match that of the average Adopted Child. That is to say, I feel that his arc will follow the same patterns that characters of his archetype usually do. He hates his biological parent who abandons him but becomes curious against his better judgment. He meets his biological father and feels anger/resentment at first, but there’s something there that feels Human and he can’t ignore it. Over time he starts to care, again against his better judgment. In Christopher’s case, it seems likely that the original reason for striking up a relationship will present itself later in the story (perhaps not this season, but next); it won’t be a wholesome attempt to connect, but rather an intent to bamboozle.
Remember Rosemary’s words from earlier: she knows a performance when she sees one. But we’ll get to that.
It’s a good idea for a storyline, and I have some faith in the payoff being worth it if we keep the same head writer for next season. This is the kind of thing best explored over a period of time and they’re doing well with the pacing.
This episode, we first see Christopher when he surprises Rachel at the dress shop.
Tumblr media
He mentions they haven’t taken in the sights in town yet, and Rosemary overhears from the back room. She asks him what sights and he switches his story to saying that he was thinking that Rosemary and Lee could take both he and Rachel around town and show them everything. Rosemary says it’s a great idea and of cOURSE they can do that! As soon as Christopher is gone, Rosemary starts lecturing Rachel on the type of freedom she’s trying to experience in Hope Valley. She pretty much says she and Lee don’t approve of Christopher while Rachel ignores her and sneaks out the back door.
The very next scene Christopher surprises Rachel again, but this time with a, uh...hands on approach.
Tumblr media
He tells her he’s not afraid of her aunt or uncle, and she says she knows he’s not afraid of Lee because she saw him steal his pocketwatch when he arrived in town. He’s surprised that she didn’t say anything and he calls her “a little sneak.” She starts throwing things at him playfully and he asks, “You’re not afraid of me?” She says she isn’t and he tells her he’s as gentle as a lamb.
She says she doubts that, and he walks through the fire of her throwing hats (or whatever they are) at him and grabs her wrists. She takes the opportunity to kiss him and he laughs. They’re broken up by the sound of people coming closer so he tells her he’ll come to her house tonight and to listen for a sound at her window.
In the next scene, Henry walks into Nathan’s office where Bill seems to be...assisting Nathan? That’s my best guess as to what’s going on. Bill strikes up a conversation with Henry and Henry says they could have gotten drinks to chat if that’s what Bill wanted (it seems very Small Talky but Bill ain’t that kind of man). In fact, Bill destroys the peaceful atmosphere instantly and makes it clear that this is a business discussion, and his questions were business-related.
If I was a bettin’ man I’d wager that Bill will piece together some problems in Hamilton with Christopher, but eh, let’s not overextend my brain just yet.
Bill’s first and only real question is to ask when Christopher arrived in town but Henry gets upset and says Bill just wants to blame someone. I’m surprised Henry didn’t mention the bad blood between him and Bill leading to this, but I’m pretty sure that’ll be coming in the future. Nathan comes in and says nobody’s accusing anyone, they just turned up at the same time so they have to check everything.
Later, Christopher runs out of Henry’s office and to the infirmary yelling for help. Henry was having trouble breathing and he got dizzy. There’s a big commotion about it and Faith tells Christopher that his father has very high blood pressure and they’ve been struggling to get it under control.
Christopher hones in on Lucas and goes after him for hiring Henry back even though he knew he shouldn’t be working. Bill intervenes and stops Christopher from getting too close to Lucas.
(Aside: I haven’t lost hope that they’ll do something with Bill and Christopher, at least from the angle of Bill having raised Christopher’s (dead) half-brother (which means Henry abandoned two women and two children straight-up), but I am starting to think it won’t happen this season.)
Around dinnertime, Henry talks with Carson and is in a good mood. When Carson asks why he’s had a sudden change of heart with wanting to get better (health-wise), he says Christopher called him “Dad” when he was worried about him, and it makes him want to do better because it means Christopher cares about him.
Y’all...that scene was so good. But. BUT. I feel like Henry has a big storm comin’ as it relates to Christopher. I just hope Henry’s self-improvements don’t backslide when he inevitably ends up disappointed in Christopher for one reason or another.
Outside, Christopher is sitting on the steps of Dottie’s Apparel across the way from the café and Rachel approaches him. She asks why he didn’t come to see her and he gets sassy about it, but she actually seems to understand exactly what he’s going through and calls him out excessively gently about it. I don’t like her instant attachment to Christopher but they’re young and dumb and at least she seems to Get Him.
She tells him that he’s not having dinner with his dad because he’s scared—scared of getting close to him, scared of feeling an attachment to him. The only way to protect himself from that attachment, and from the inevitable loss that you will one day experience in regards to them, is to not let it form in the first place.
He asks her what the solution is and she says he needs to take a chance. And then she ruins it by saying “Like when you stole Uncle Lee’s watch.” ?????? This is definitely some Into Bad Boys Teenage Girl Logic right there. There is literally no connection.
She gives him his handkerchief back and when he mentions it still has her lipstick on it, she says, “I know.” THIS GIRL IS TRYING TO GET HER A MAN AND SHE IS TRYING VERY HARD. I wouldn’t be surprised if these were things she read about in her tame bodice ripper novels though LMAO.
They then share a kiss and he promises to come and see her the next day at the store.
Tumblr media
Rosemary and Lee mention to Elizabeth that Rachel’s mom wants her to come back home right away, and the next morning Rachel confides in Rosemary that she’s afraid that once she’s back in Bellingham she won’t ever be allowed to return to Hope Valley. Rosemary explains to her that she shouldn’t worry about that; leave it all up to her instead.
Christopher is busy working, digging a trench. He’s getting out some of his frustration and anger by doing this and Lucas seems a bit annoyed by him but otherwise accepting of his, uh, issues. At least...for now. Lucas seems to have come up to the worksite to suggest Christopher spend more time with Henry, as he feels bad that he didn’t realize Henry’s health was actually as bad as it was.
But Christopher won’t go and just keeps angrily digging his ditch, and in fact he’s so consumed by this he doesn’t notice when Rachel leaves town. When he’s on break, he comes back into town only to find that the store is locked up for the day.
Tumblr media
Seeing as how Rachel just found out the night before that she was leaving town, I think it’s plausible to imagine that...he doesn’t know she’s actually Gone. I almost feel bad for him.
Honestly, this young man is a whiz of an actor. He’s likable in that Fun Character kind of way where you never know if you should root for him or not. I’m not the type of person who generally likes characters like this, but color me intrigued. This show rarely has interesting characters in it that get to remain interesting. I hope Christopher gets to develop for the next couple of seasons if indeed they choose to keep him around. The guy can act! He plays funny, slimy, rude, arrogant, emotional, and even twitterpated really well, and he ain’t afraid to get dirty to sell the part. I respect that.
Can I just say how sorry for Henry I feel though, knowing—or at least feeling—that he will be blindsided in the near future with Christopher’s uh...faults? Woof.

Triangle Tribulations
There’s a huge part of me that doesn’t even want to discuss this. I just want to say, “That’s a yikes from me, Chief” and move on to the next point. It seems easier. And less awkward. And also...let’s be honest: I have no horse in this race.
I don’t care that much about Elizabeth as a character, and I care even less about what gentleman she might choose to set her sights on in the long run.
But it’s become the central talking point of the show, so let’s discuss it!
Three years is a perfectly acceptable mourning period, but I think the show’s inability to hold its horses these last couple of years is just now catching up to it in the worst way. It puts Elizabeth in this awkward position where she has men interested in her and the show has framed her as being ready ish to move on, but then a new writer stepped in and was told to make sure the triangle lasted through most of the 8th season. How can he make it last when things have been set up for her to move on? Uhh, quick! Come up with something!
Oh, realism! She’s not actually ready to move on!
I mean, I don’t blame John Tinker for this. I blame the writer for S6 and S7 that rushed through the storytelling and gave us...whatever that was, where two men showed up out of nowhere and both set eyes on Elizabeth. I blame the marketing that made sure to sell S6 and S7 for the love triangle instead of the family-friendly or heartwarming elements of the story. It’s really sad that the triangle has come to...this. It didn’t have to. If they hadn’t tried making it a central point in S6 (literally months after Jack died when nobody was ready to really move on and nobody felt that Elizabeth would be ready, either) I don’t think things would be so awful, but it’s too late to go back, now.
Don’t get me wrong, the triangle feels pretty good this season. It’s tense. It’s interesting. Lucas really has shone in this season thus far (instead of coming across as creepy as he sometimes did for the first two seasons he was in), and Nathan is learning to be a little more...forthcoming with his feelings. I guess.
But it should have been S7. S7 should have had this level of care put into it for the triangle so that S8 was a chance for the choice to get some air.
Anyway, I’m not happy with it. I’m glad it’s almost over. I just want it to end. I do not care who the choice is, I just want her to choose.
In this episode, she confronted Nathan right out of the gate, and he wasn’t exactly pleased about it. She acts like he went into the adoption ceremony knowing damn well what Allie had done, but he insists he didn’t know and seems a bit hurt that Elizabeth would accuse him of being mean to her when he tells her that Allie’s list didn’t even have her on it.
Tumblr media
Elizabeth later mentions this as a truth (the list, her name not being on it), so I don’t know what we’re supposed to think here. I’m gonna go with: her feelings were hurt and she lashed out.
Nathan’s temper is apparently done with Lucas, as he tells him to Save It at the end of the scene. I want to say I’m living for it but Lucas hasn’t really...done anything wrong, so...it feels misplaced.
(I want to say something about the fans being divided and this feeling more like fanservice/an attempt to stir the pot than anything that makes any sense.)
Elizabeth goes on to spend a little time with Lucas and it was very cool to see his office for the first time ever! Also, “pardon my French was actually pretty funny here.
Tumblr media
Nathan wants to talk to Allie about the adoption ceremony catastrophe but is called away before they can sit down and talk, which Allie is...sad about...for some reason? I guess even if it’s negative attention it’s better than no attention? That seems in line with her age. Elizabeth comments to Lucas about feeling sorry for Allie and wanting to comfort her, but in my opinion this is kind of misplaced and Lucas points out that he doesn’t mind her sharing a friendship with Nathan, but that...he doesn’t think Nathan will settle for it.
I’d probably be against Lucas on this matter but I already know that Lucas is right. Elizabeth seems to not to want to believe that but...I dunno. Part of the problem is that in a town this size, it’s really hard to have space. She wants to forget Nathan and focus on Lucas, but she’s constantly seeing both Allie and Nathan, and that makes it hard.
Around dinnertime she goes to Lucas’s office and he begs off dinner because he’s just not in a good state of mind after the whole thing with Henry, and he also seems like he’s had a few drinks. She offers to let him sit with her and it’s...uh...very cozy (probably the closest two bodies have ever been to one another on this show, hahaha).
Tumblr media
He says he doesn’t want to be impatient and that she should leave. Which she does.
Fanning herself.
The next morning, Nathan approaches Lucas at the oil derricks to tell him that he hasn’t given up on Elizabeth just yet, to which...Lucas says he can do whatever he wants, but he needs to make sure he has the best interests of Allie and Elizabeth in mind, not his own. Nathan tries to say something else to him and Lucas says, “Save it.”
Which is fair and valid. I’d respect it more if Nathan’s “save it” had felt more believable earlier, though.
Either way, I’m at a point in this series where I’m starting to think Nathan’s just being selfish. His writing took an absolute beating in this episode and this isn’t even the worst part!
Allie invites Elizabeth to dinner. I hated this scene mostly because I think it will only make the hatred for Allie worse. Team Lucas fans tend to hate her because she acts so unreasonably and this scene was the worst example of it so far. She’s a young teenage girl (13/14 years old I’d guess) but this childish illustration card? Is something a 9 year old might pull (circumstances considered).
Tumblr media
I’d find it more plausible if we just had more time with Allie, but we get so little and everything we’ve been getting hasn’t felt...quite right to me lately. I could understand the whole “inviting only Elizabeth and Nathan” because that’s actually quite clever of her, and even funny. She’s young and doesn’t understand the...bigger picture, or the Adult Feelings involved. I’m fine with it. But this? Oh please. They’re not doing Allie any favors.
I think she could have done something else that was more in line with her age. It could still be cringey, but not...like this. I’m certain it was meant to be a sassy response to being scolded because neither of them were aware they were the only ones invited (and Allie’s hand-drawn invitation makes it clear they’re the only two invited lol), but...eh.
The very next scene is Elizabeth confronting Nathan, though, which I do appreciate. This thing with Allie is so far out of hand by this point that he needs to absolutely sit her down and have a VERY serious heart-to-heart. She’s hurting and it feels like nobody is telling her the right thing.
Just before the adoption ceremony Nathan told her that Elizabeth was seeing Mr. Bouchard and Allie complained but Nathan did a great job of telling her that they should be happy that Elizabeth is happy and I LOVED THAT. So why does it feel like he didn’t mean any of it? Why didn’t he confront any of the other things Allie is probably feeling?
Like, you know...that Elizabeth can still be her friend even if she’s seeing Mr. Bouchard?
Elizabeth asks Nathan for a word, and when she tells him that she wants to speak with Allie he tells her that Allie is home and is afraid to talk to Elizabeth without him being there.
Tumblr media
She asks why Allie is afraid but the fanfare starts for Bill, and Nathan doesn’t want to be rude but Elizabeth insists on continuing their conversation.
Elizabeth tells him she was afraid it would happen if things didn’t work out between them.
Nathan says he doesn’t know what to tell her. He’s tried talking to Allie but nothing he says has convinced her that Elizabeth isn’t to blame. Elizabeth tells him that she thinks Allie should blame her because it’s Nathan she’s attached to/loves.
Their conversation is paused for a moment by Bill’s appearance but they pick right back up after Bill rides away on his horse. She says she tried to tell him at the parent/teacher conference that he is everything to Allie and he says he knows that, and that’s why he’s trying really hard not to show Elizabeth how he feels about her, and it’s why he turned down the promotion to inspector.
He wanted to leave but he couldn’t do it because Allie was so happy in Hope Valley. Elizabeth says that’s why they have to figure out how to make things okay again, because he said it himself, he stayed because Allie was happy!
He said, no, I said that was part of the reason.
And he looks away like he didn’t mean to say that, like in saying that, he’s said Too Much. And this isn’t about his feelings. This is...something else.
Elizabeth has suspected all along that he was hiding something and not telling her the whole truth about Fort Clay, but this behavior isn’t like him and she calls him out on it. She says she knows he’s hiding something and she wants to know what it is.
He tells her that at Fort Clay he was in charge of the training mission, not Jack. But he was disciplined for an earlier incident and they sent Jack instead. He says he’s sorry but there was never the right time to tell her.
Tumblr media
The episode ends there.
I am...disappointed. I was hoping it would be something small that might have still weighed on his mind, like finding Jack’s body—having never met the man, having never known him, it would be so odd to know his wife and the home he loved but to have never known him. And to never really have a right to...ask about it either because it’s not your place.
But no, they really had to go there. They really had to make it like that. We’ve been guessing this since Nathan arrived in town as a possibility and I wish it had never happened.
I agree with all the people who think that there would be no point in the love triangle without Nathan being end-game, but ugh.
I’m fine with forgiveness and moving on, but back in S5 and S6 I made it very clear how I felt about the direction they were taking Abigail and Henry. For the purpose of clarification, Henry was actively awful (he was cruel to Abigail many times over and was part of the VERY DIRECT reason her husband and son died) and that was the biggest reason I opposed it. I think comparatively Nathan is harmless. But... I dunno.
It feels to me like they really want to tell that Type of story and...I’m not a fan. You can forgive someone without hooking up with them. In fact, that’s a way better moral to be dropping on this specific audience anyway.
I’m mostly disgusted at Nathan and have to now worry how they will write Lucas next to make sure he’s on equal ground. :(
Maybe Nathan’s posting in Hope Valley wasn’t out of guilt but the way he reacted to Elizabeth sure makes it seem like it was. Like he chose to come to Hope Valley to keep an eye on Jack’s family. And if it stayed at a friendship level I could respect it. I might even like it.
But... ugh. I mean, Nathan feels guilty. He knows his actions indirectly killed Jack. No, he is not to blame for it and I don’t think he blames himself—at least not in a traditional way. But the knowledge is there. He should have kept his feelings to himself. He should have NEVER decided he wasn’t going to give up on Elizabeth after she walked away from him. She didn’t say no but she shouldn’t have to.
So he knew he was indirectly responsible for Jack’s death and he still let himself tell Lucas he wasn’t giving up on her. What the hell?
I guess you can consider me #teamstaysingle now.

Bill’s Wounded Pride
This wasn’t a long or deep storyline but I wanted to dig into it a little bit since Bill’s my favorite character and all.
I really appreciate that they are giving Lee a chance to be a good listener. He got kind of overshadowed by Rosemary’s personality a bit in the past so it’s good to see a consistent show of it now. He’s so nice to Bill. I don’t feel like they’re great buds, but there’s a kind of...mutual respect there that has definitely been earned on both sides. Lee’s offer to listen to Bill vent was really nice.
After Bill goes off on Henry (sorta? barely?) Nathan calls Bill out for placing blame on Christopher by association of Henry, since he knows he and Henry have some bad blood between them.
Tumblr media
But then Nathan kind of gets this self-righteous ramble about how maybe he’ll feel differently when he’s asked to hand in his serge, but it’s not helping Bill to prolong the process/put it off.
Which...while Nathan has a point, he’s just written throughout this entire episode like a selfish jerk. I get that he’s not that attached to his uniform (he’s younger, he’s willing to quit to settle down and marry), but you’d think he’d have a little sympathy for someone whose entire career was the Mounties and who is struggling to give up the last connection he has to that part of his life.
If Nathan was 18 or 19 I’d feel his reaction would be fully believable, but he’s probably in his 30s and should have a little more emotional maturity than this.
Again, yes, Bill should just get rid of the uniform and be done with it. But it’s not as if Bill doesn’t know that. He’s struggling! A word of encouragement might help more than telling him to rip the bandaid off. If he talked this way to Allie it’s no wonder she’s so messed up.
Later that morning, Molly greets Lee about the lumber shipment Carson ordered for the infirmary and Jesse is grumpy. She jokes that she’s dealing with that, too, but with Carson and Faith. Lee adds that Bill is also in a bad mood, because he has to turn in his uniform. They briefly discuss that nobody has ever seen him in uniform.
Tumblr media
Lee tells Molly that she’s in charge of fixing everyone else’s problems and leaves.
The next day, Bill walks into Nathan’s office to see Molly spying on his stuff...
Tumblr media
She claims she’s there to wish him a good trip and he says he’s not looking forward to riding all the way to Hamiliton. She mentions his uniform and he’s surprised she knows about it, but says only that “word gets around.”
Bill says yeah, well, he should have told them that if they want it so bad they should come and get it. Molly tells him that “rules and regulations can strip a man of his pride.” Which is. A weird line of dialogue but okay.
Bill tells her that it was a proud day when he put the uniform on—even though back then it didn’t have any of the decorations on it, of course. She says he must have felt ten feet tall he and replies with, “Ten years and three months.”
You know it meant a lot to him if he remembers the exact amount of years he wore the damn thing. Molly encourages him to try it on and he tries to excuse it by saying it doesn’t fit. She tells him he’s hard to read (probably because she thought he wanted the excuse to try it) but he’s “worth it, cover to cover.”
She goes on to say that “WE” know that turning it in means a great deal to him, so it means a great deal to his friends, too, and as he should know, the uniform doesn’t make the man.
She goes to leave and tells him it will definitely fit (HAHA maybe she was checking that while he was gone) and to do everyone a favor and put on a good show.
A short time later, Mike and a couple of others from town start playing some fanfare music outside the Mountie HQ and Bill emerges.
Tumblr media
He’s touched by it, but also maybe a little confused lol, and asks them if they know that he’ll be right back.
Tumblr media
And then...it’s off and away with Bill.
Tumblr media
I’d have liked this storyline so much more if it felt...deeper? A little extra fanfare for him is nice, but it doesn’t really...deal with any of the emotions he feels. That said, I’m almost certain this is to get him to Hamilton where he might run into Christopher’s parents and/or hear more information about potential misdeeds of Christopher to move that plot along.

Miscellaneous Short Plots
FloYo: Florence and Ned were cute but I wish they hadn’t tried to do anything with it in this episode. We didn’t really need to see Ned being grumpy about things as a like...Moment. It just didn’t feel very meaningful even though they had that cutesy “nobody can replace you” resolution. This episode was a bit of a miss for them for me because of that. And hey, don’t get me wrong; I generally like them, but trying to make everything wholesome all the time gets draining and there was so much other stuff that felt more rewarding to me comparatively.
The Canfields: Very cute, good. I need to know what Joseph’s plans are. And Angela learning braille and being so sweet... AHHHHHH I LOVED HER.
Dress Shop: I’m disappointed they had this plotline drag out for episode after episode and then die out. I guess it could be interesting if they blew it wide open by Dottie selling it at the end of the season to someone unexpected, but what bored me about this was that nobody was that stressed out about the situation and nobody seemed relieved that Dottie wasn’t selling. I’ll hold out hope that something comes of it anyway.
Jesse: FINALLY. I appreciated that he and Mike got to talk. It explains where Jesse was all that time...and Mike is a good friend. I love him. I hope he gets more screentime next season because he honestly deserves it. Also, I’m glad Jesse went to talk to Clara and asked if they could sit and talk. SIT AND TALK. YES PLEASE. Thank you. It was a simple step forward but I really appreciate it. Also, the Canfields and Bill hightailing it out of there as soon as Jesse shows up...haha.
Infirmary: GOODBYE HAM SANDWICH CARSON. I mean... I’m of two minds. Expanding the infirmary would be a good idea. It wouldn’t hurt to have a little more room for patients that might need to recover for longer, and to have a little bit more privacy for them. On the other hand, Carson’s sudden lashing out against the Hope Valley infirmary is...odd. I loved how he and Faith both got so excited but for different reasons that culminated in a completely different mindset. You can tell Carson really wants to go to Boston but feels weird about it. I love Faith’s dedication to the town.
--
My brain feels dry and crusty after typing all this up, and I didn’t proofread it at all, so sorry in advance if there are any errors in it. As always, I’m looking forward to the drama next episode, particularly with Carson and Faith (BREAK UP BREAK UP BREAK UP).
I’m still kind of stunned they went the route they did. I find it hard to imagine that Elizabeth is capable of a choice within the next four episodes, but I guess we’ll have to see what’s in store for us.
Also, for a little laugh, my husband watched the full episode with me for the first time in a few seasons. He was pleasantly surprised by Angela Canfield and said that he liked “the property brother.” I think he’s #TeamLucas but he told me later last night that actually they’re both fine and he’d take either one for himself if the opportunity arose LMAO.
What are your thoughts on this episode? Opinions?

come be a season 12 truther, baby, with me
In honor of tonight’s Berens/Glynn episode (!!!!), I’d like to take y’all on a magical journey in which I share why I think Dean and Cas got together in season 12.
Keep in mind that this post takes for granted that Dean and Cas are in love with each other and that their relationship has been increasingly coded as romantic with each passing season. Consequently, what this post does is point out some key moments in their relationship and argue why they don't get together before 12. I'll also go briefly over 13 and 14 for reasons I'll explain later in the post. First, though, let me go over seasons 4 through 11, with some pit stops along the way:
Seasons 4 & 5: this isn’t the destiel you are looking for. the ust is delicious, yes, and i, too, got sucked in posthaste immediately groped by an angel lj community style. At this point Cas is still too alien for anything beyond the development we see on screen happen. HOWEVER, season 5 is the first time we get to see Cas being human (The End) and Cas being less connected to heaven and how that affects his behavior. This will matter.
Seasons 6 & 7: the pining omg the pining. The notable things I want to point out with these seasons is a. this is the beginning of Cas doing things to spare Dean and it not ending well (Cas dies #1, soulless!Sam); b. Dean is v. sad; and c. we also start noticing the emotional toll of Cas’s divided loyalties and how human he has actually become since s4. Hurty feels all around.
Season 8: purgaytory babes aw yeah! Still lots of terrible awful pining. This is a turning point with the addition of the bunker as tfw hq: we have a home in play now, a static emotional center. Cas is still off doing his own thing, Dean still wishes Cas would just let him (+ Sam) help out. Cas going off on his own leads to disaster #2 (Angels fall, Cas loses his Grace). For all deliciously angsty get together purgatory fics and spec, there’s too much of a gap between Dean and Cas on Cas’s part due to his guilt over betraying the Winchesters in s6 & slaughtering angels & leviathan. On the other hand, we do see Dean being more emotionally open, but to no avail. Bad timing. This is a trend. [oop also worth noting we get Dean being kinda done with the one night stand thing because always with the adios and ahem also hint hint Cas refusing to stay put]
Seasons 9 & 10: aka Dean and Cas make bad decisions, but mostly Dean. The biggest turning point here is Cas being human for an extended period of time. There is still plenty of spec over the effects of being human on Cas’s Grace and his Soul. What we can say for sure, though, is that Cas is much more human once he becomes an angel again. In contrast to s8, s9 sees Cas being vulnerable and Dean pushing him away (first because of Gadreel, which he didn’t want to do really and that’s even sadder kdjfgksdfj & later because he was pushing everyone away due to the mark).
9.06 Heaven Can’t Wait: there’s been so much amazing fic and spec about this episode with its fanfiction gap, but I can’t see a deancas get together here, folks. I know, it’s terrible. The lying from Dean and the hurt from Cas, imo, make the distance between them quite insurmountable at this point. While the episode is amazing (Bobo’s debut, too! So ♥) and has some notorious subtext throughout, I just can’t see the character bridging that gap into anything physical, much less emotional. Nevertheless, this episode does show perhaps the first intentional romantic tableaux with Dean and Cas, and that’s not nothing.
10.16 Paint it Black: from the point Dean gets the mark of cain until the end of season 10, anything between him and Cas is quite impossible. But one of the reasons I’m bringing up this episode in particular is because of the confession scene. For one, it’s a rare bit of emotional honesty from Dean and for two, it tells me that while he and Cas may be well aware of the thing between them, it’s still uncharted waters. Makes sense, too, there’s been A LOT going on since s6.  Anyway, he’s the full confession, so we can put a pin on it:
You know, the life I live, the work I do…I pretty much just figured that that was all there was to me, you know? Tear around and jam the key in the ignition and haul ass until I ran out of gas. I guess I just thought sooner or later, I’d go out the same way that I live – pedal to the metal, and that would be it. [...]  Now, um… recent events, uh… make me think I might be closer to that than I really thought. And…I don’t know. I mean, you know, there’s – there’s things, there’s…people, feelings that I-I-I want to experience differently than I have before, or maybe even for the first time. [...]  Yeah, I’m just starting to think that… maybe there’s more to it all than I thought.
Do you ever see a character having an epiphany and find yourself wanting to cry because this is it right here. Dean is just blatantly admitting he wants more, which all culminates in season 11, so...
Season 11: The pining is still here, but it’s worse now since it’s the whole plot? It’s been *checks calendar* 5 years of this. How are any of us still kicking I don’t know. Your slow burns could never. Cool worth noting points: Cas says yes to Luci (bad decision #2.5, lots of mitigating effects_I don’t actually hold it against him that much but Dean is another story & not entirely rational at this point); for the first time since the early days, Dean and Cas are on equal grounds: they’ve both fucked up a lot and have hurt each other. The issues this season are outside their dynamic. Amara and Lucifer here serve as externalizing forces for Dean and Cas’s problems and by the end of the season we’re getting a clean slate. We’re also getting a new showrunner, so. No wonder. What this season does that is also super important is that it sets up the stage for the possibility of an actual relationship between Dean and Cas, something that has, up until this point, been pretty much impossible.
11.04 Baby: Y’all know what I’m about to quote here, right? The convo between Dean and Sam about having something with someone who understands the life. Here we still have Dean reverting to the idea that it’s impossible, which is a direct contrast to the openness in 10.16. It’s understandable, though, considering there’s been little reason to think anything like that would be possible (see all the mess and poor timing from seasons past). The quote in question, though, marks a continuing development in on of the things Dean is struggling with this season:
DEAN: Piper? That's awesome. Heather. One-night wonders, man. Shoot, we're lucky we still get that at all.  SAM: Really? You don't . . . Ever want something more? DEAN: I'm sorry, have you met us? We're batting a whopping zero in domestic life, man. Goose eggs. SAM: You don't ever think about something? Not marriage or whatever. But . . . Something? You know, with a hunter? Somebody who understands the life?
Compare this exchange with what we get from 11.11 and 11.19:
11.11 Into the Mystic: I’m bringing this episode as a crossreference to 10.16 and to show again that for all the closeness between Dean and Cas there’s still a marked distance they haven’t yet bridged. Thanks Mildred for the delicious exposition:
Darlin'...If there's one thing I've learned in all my years on the road, it's when somebody's pining for somebody else. [...]  Oh, don't try and hide it now. Follow your heart. Remember?
11.19 The Chitters: Continuing our trek regarding Dean wanting certain things we have this gift of an episode with Jesse and Cesar, and this exchange:
Dean: [with realization] Oh, so … [points back and forth to Jesse and Cesar] Cesar: Yeah. Dean: Okay, that’s… Cesar puts his beer bottle on the table and looks at Dean, while Jesse is being silent. Dean: What’s it like, settling down with a hunter? Cesar: Smelly, dirty. [turns to Jesse] Twice the worrying about getting ganked.
I’d like to point out, too that the fear of getting ganked is thematic when it comes to the tension between Dean and Cas. More on this when we hit s13.
Alright, now having said that, let’s take a look at season 12. Bear in mind, this is the official start of Dabb’s era, even if he kinda began taking over in 11, and the change in vibes is obvious. In fact, 12 jumped out at me as a turning point in retrospect, after getting smacked by the domesticity of 13 and 14. Under the cut because I can’t shut up, and things are long enough as is.
Season 12:  Finally, the promise land, y’all. So, what s11 was for Dean in terms of setting up the relationship stage, s12 was for Cas. In its initial beats, any way. Important to keep in mind that until the Kelly debacle, this was the longest Cas has been around the bunker. Things seem remarkably chill. Of course, we’ll notice that there’s still a lot of baggage hanging around because despite Dean and Cas being in a more stable place, they haven’t actually dealt with their interpersonal problems. I didn’t single out directly this episode, but do keep in mind Cas’s declaration in 12.09 First Blood as far as how much the Winchesters matter to Cas & how we also see Dean and Cas be particularly singled out with them seating together in the backseat of the Impala.
12.10 Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets: This episode, oh my god, the goodness. In the wake of 12.09 we have Dean and Cas in a tiff because Cas mistake #3 (killing Billie and “cosmic consequences”), this is a pattern. Twice the worry of getting ganked, etc etc. But where this episode really shines is through the contrast between Ishim’s obsession with Lily and Cas & Dean’s mutual affection for each other. Ishim sees no difference here and, to him, Cas’s feelings for Dean are a human weakness. Returning to my point about human!Cas, this episode underscores that Cas’s increasing humanity is what puts him in the place where he can want what Dean wants instead of either being too alien to get it (see s4 & 5) or unable to experience it properly (Ishim).
12.12 Stuck in the Middle (With You): Cas’s trajectory culminates here with the whole I love you (@ Dean), I love all of you (@ Winchesters). Let’s note too that Cas is dying here, in a way that is much more human than going up in light. This declaration of different types of love is entirely human. It’s also a definitive step wrt to Cas and Dean’s relationship because of what happens in 12.19. This. is. it.
Offscreen happenings: Mixtape, how Cas knows the Colt is under Dean’s pillow. This is hella suspicious.
12.19 The Future: This episode changes everything, y’all (bobo and meredith, folks, bobo and meredith ksjdhfakjshlfksd). Consider watching this episode again and pay attention to some weird things: 1. Dean’s reaction to Cas going awol. Compare it to Sam’s, who is like whoa Dean chill. Now, thought experiment, imagine something happened between Dean and Cas, and then just radio silence from Cas. Imagine how Dean would react with getting ghosted by Cas specifically after something happened between them.  2. Cas comes back to the bunker with the specific goal of stealing the Colt, which he already knew was under Dean’s pillow -- something Sam didn’t even know.  3. “He came into my room and he played me.” So, this quote right there, makes it seem like some seduction for personal gain, right? But Cas clearly knew where the Colt was already, which means something happened before  Cas came back to the bunker. Cas played Dean in seeming to have reconsidered not working with Sam and Dean wrt Kelly. This is still a point of drama, but it leads somewhere else (see s13 & s15). 4. WHEN DID DEAN GIVE CAS THAT MIXTAPE OMG 5. Dean and Cas’s brief convo in Dean’s room is clearly Dean just wanting Cas to stay, so they can work (and be) together -- because they’re better that way. Which, yeah, truth.
Sequence of events: Cas tells Dean he loves him -- Dean is clearly shook by it -- Dean gives Cas a mixtape (romantic gesture, often a declaration of feelings; in true Dean speak too lolsobs) -- Cas somehow knows the Colt is under Dean’s pillow -- ???? -- Cas goes awol -- Dean acts like he got ghosted by his partner.
Like. Y’all realize they probably had some emotionally constipated getting together moment, right? Something that Dean clearly initially thought meant things were gonna change, now. Something that Cas couldn’t allow to happen until he could give Dean a win. Y’all are seeing this, yeah? I’m not saying they slept together and were full of feelings, except that’s kind of what I’m saying. But ymmv, there are other possibilities beyond sex. The full of feelings isn’t up for debate, though, even if the whole thing is informed by ridiculous amounts of miscommunication.
Ok, maybe the narrative is still too subtle (?????), but as I said before, looking at 12 with the knowledge of 13 and 14 does offer a new perspective because of the difference in dynamic between Dean and Cas. I know lots of people look at 14, mainly, as having dialed back on the destiel side of things, but I always thought that was a strange take. Largely because they’re so domestic and their dynamic, ie, the lack of tension, reads like an established relationship. It’s a different kind of beast than we have been used to so far, so it does look alien on screen, especially since we “skipped” the conventional getting together cue that would let us change gears. Let’s take a look at 13 and 14, then.
Season 13: Ah, yes, the season of shit gets domestic. The pining? Gone? What? Deancas now reading like an established couple? It’s more likely than you think.
13.1-13.5: Dean’s grief mini-arc. Dude’s acting like a widower. We all know this. I want to gesture towards the reunion moment though with “it’s never too late to start all over again.” To. Start. All. Over. Again. I’m just saying.
13.6 Tombstone: hi this episode is pure love and Dean is so happy his sweetheart is back from the dead? He’s even ok being Jack’s third dad now? What a time to be alive. Also? apparently Dean and Cas were just having movie night together? Dates? Mutual Pining dates prior to shit going to hell in 12? Do you ever cry? What else are they getting up to offscreen? What else will they get up to off screen? MUCH TO THINK ABOUT.
Season 14: MORE DOMESTICITY. With some pining because Michael. But...heart eyes when Dean comes back? Watch that scene again with Dean going off to shower. Suspicious. But then shit hits the fan and we’re all sad again. boo.
14.15 Peace of Mind: Look me in the eye and tell me Dean and Cas talking in the kitchen about Jack doesn’t read like husbands talking about their child. Look me in the eye and tell me Cas just texting Dean to gossip about Sam isn’t coupley asf.
14.18-14.20: Ah, yes, the divorce arc. Awful. Terrible. The culmination of Dean’s problem in all this: he lashes out, he pushes Cas away, his anger is alienating. Cue all of us suffering. But while Dean is clearly in the wrong in how the deals with his feelings, let’s not pretend some of his anger doesn’t come from a long established issue between him and Cas, which had its last traumatic turn when Cas died in s12. Dean isn’t being rational here; he saw Cas doing something on his own, and he saw that his mother is dead. What else could happen? Why won’t Cas just trust they can work as a team? Divorce arc was entirely too literal.
But what about what we’re building up in 15? That seems like it could be a getting together plot, too, right? Well, yeah. It could very well be. But I’d argue the tension we’re seeing isn’t a will they or won’t they because they already have. The tension is instead will they or won’t they use their words to talk about the baggage that has kept them from truly being confident about their relationship. There’s a crucial step in their togetherness that they’re still missing, which is also the bedrock of the divorce arc that spanned TWELVE FRIGGIN’ EPISODES. Y’all. Y’all that’s half a season. And we’re not even entirely done with it yet because Dean was cut short in purgatory, and they haven’t dealt with Cas’s side of blame in this mess yet either -- that Cas keeps going off on his own and getting hurt (and getting other people hurt), and Dean has to deal with the fallout. The deep emotional understanding, the truly being on the same page is what we’re on the edge of our seats for. And, you know, that’s a whole lot more exciting than witnessing their for realsies first kiss. I’m also confident Dabb & co will deliver the conclusion to this emotional arc and it will be a whole mess of feelings on all our parts.
For the moment, though, it’s looking a lot like Dean and Cas had a rocky start to their ~involvement, then DEATH, then they got together feat. sweet sweet domestic fluff, then DIVORCE. So, yeah. Season 12, guys; it’s where it’s at.
As for the more performative aspect of Dean and Cas’s relationship…that’s a whole other thing and all I can say is they got the green light for something, but I don’t know what it is and it’s driving me bananas, but it’s definitely something and we can talk about that, too. Place your bets, etc.  I’m clowning on the “I love you” pay off because it’s a glaring missing piece in this whole story. See also: holding hands? Carving Cas’s initials on the table? Saileen endgame parallels? All supported by the narrative. Like a lot. So. *finger guns*

Hey so I asked earlier if requests were open. Could you please write a fanfic of Ango & a criminal female s/o. She’d be a drug dealer working for a drug lord (like Jesse Pinkman). She & her drug lord operate under pseudonyms. There‘s an outbreak of deaths from drug addiction in Yokohama and related shootings & Ango has been trying to hunt them down. It’s a cat-mouse game when him & is a/o are together. He’s been oblivious to his s/o’s involvement until he arrives at their meth lab. Thanks! 😊
Firstly, my sincerest of apologies for the late response on this request, I’ve just started college where I live so I’m trying to balance this blog and my schooling. Secondly, thank you so much for the request! I was so excited when I saw it! Thirdly, I’ve never seen Breaking Bad before so I really hope I did Jesse Pickman justice.
Enjoy!

Meth isn’t as terribly difficult to make than most people give it credit for. Most every ingredient can be found with items from your average supermarket for a cheap total, no need for plants or needles, you truly can’t get any easier than that. Once you’ve been in the drug trade from so many years you pick up a few things: One, if you really don’t want to get caught, destroy whatever remnant of your life you had before. Burn anything that would tie you down or be held against you. If you really want to make sure of this, just do what I did, stage your own death. Some type of terrible car accident where the car catches on fire or explodes will do fine. Two, Become a chameleon. The old you is dead and gone forever and you’ll need to blend in with the populous now so no extravagant purchases with your new-found wealth. Which brings us to number Three, hide any and all suspicious amount of money you have, and no, I’m not talking about a stupid shoebox in the closet type shit. I talking under the floorboards before sealing them tight to blend in with the rest of the ground, wooden framework of your furniture, the back of a painting in a frame, false bottoms in drawers, somewhere hidden but accessible in emergencies.
Out of everything I fabricated and lied about there was one thing I couldn’t make up, how much fun it was to keep toying with my boyfriend, Ango Sakaguchi. For over three years we’ve been playing this cat and mouse, having gotten so close to being caught and thrown in prison only made my desire to continue stronger. With each close encounter sending a rush of adrenaline through my body as a devilish smirk would spread across my lips. I know I shouldn’t keep going, I know I should have jumped ship as soon as I heard Ango was investigating the drug-related deaths and shootings that kept growing. Every nerve in my body was shouting, screaming at me to stop will I’m ahead, you don’t have to keep going, you can stop and have a normal 9-5 life with Ango, have a normal life, get married... but I couldn’t. This is all I’ve known for so long, my hands have long been stained with dirty money, long been stained with the chemicals and lives I’ve taken by proxy, I can’t imagine doing anything else. I couldn’t, I’m not leaving Kazuki. We’ve been in this game together for too long, and I intend to see it through to the end. “Hey babe, I gotta run out for a minute and help Hiroshi, okay?” I called out using Kazuki’s alias as I pull my arms through the coat, peaking my head into his office.
Ango hardly looked up from his paperwork, simply humming in response as he continued working on his mound of paperwork. I leaned my body against the doorframe, my eyes softening upon seeing the dark circles forming under his light-colored eyes. Seeing him so overworked and exhausted but still trudging on for the sake of work made me feel awful. Especially now when his desk is littered with crime scene photos, autopsies, and blurry CCTV photos of masked people, people I know, and try to protect all while simultaneously working against them. An unwilling double agent if you will. I quietly walked over to Angos’ hunched over form, placing my hands on his tense shoulder while carefully massaging them. “Ango,” I spoke again softly, “I think you need to take a break.”
“I wish I could,” he answered leaning against the back of his chair, lulling his head back to look at me. I arched my brows in worry upon seeing his face up close: eyes half open, hair slightly tousled, brown kobicha tie disheveled, his thin frames glasses slipping down his nose. “The bad guys are still going to be there tomorrow, babe” I hummed pushing his glasses up, giggling at his bashful face. I placed a loving kiss on his forehead, combing my hands through his hair making him close his eyes and hum. “You’ll be better focused tomorrow, I mean who knows? Maybe they’ll slip up while your sleeping.”
“That’s why I need to keep working,” he argued opening his eyes slightly, struggling to keep them open with each slow blink. I sighed, slightly annoyed at his continued persistence, “Please Ango, it’s not healthy to stay up for so long” I pleaded, wrapping my arms around him in a loving hug. “If you go to sleep now I’ll make you breakfast in the morning” I heard him laugh slightly at my offer. “You know me too well,” I smiled in return, knowing he couldn’t resist my cooking before responding, “You’re not terribly hard to read.” I watched him walk out of his office sluggishly while I cleaned the papers littered across his desk, my eyes catching on an autopsy report. I scanned through the sheet diligently looking at the chemicals found in the victim: Ephedrine, Ammonia, Gasoline, Toluene, Freon- my heart dropped upon reading the final ingredient.
“Son of a bitch” I cursed pulling at my phone, taking a quick picture before hastily packing up the rest of the paperwork. My shoes were hardly tied as I rushed out the door through the labyrinth of back alleys towards the lab while pulling my mask on, busting down the door to Kazuki’s office. His head shot up upon my loud entrance, narrowing his eyes in annoyance as he spat out, “you know damn well how much that door costs.”
“That door’s not gonna mean shit soon, we got a problem” I barked back, my voice slightly muffled though still carrying an authoritarian tone, slamming my fist on his desk. “If it’s about the overdoses we already tweaked the ingredients for a new batch,” he said with a bored tone kicking his feet up, “Our sales will be back to normal by tomorrow.”
“Like that’s gonna do shit, look,” I said pulling up the photo and sliding my phone towards him, “read the chemicals.” His long fingers picked up the photo, carefully reading the words before seeing his eyes expand in shock, “Fuck, that’s-”
“Catecholamine and Tolcapone, and way too much if it” I interrupted looking at his face, knowing that we were thinking the same thing, there’s a spy in our ranks. Swiftly we started scanning through the files on every older member in our group or any younger member with elderly relatives. These aren’t your typical over the counter chemicals you get at the corner store, this is regulated, controlled. Chemicals and drugs found in prescription medications you can’t simply trick a doctor into giving you. With enough Catecholamine and Tolcapne in someone’s body there a ticking time bomb of rage with virtually no impulse control. Mix that with all of the chemicals in meth, and you’ve got an adrenaline run, short-tempered, raging, and homicidal machine who won’t stop until their heart inevitably either explodes or stops altogether. My fingers continued to grow more cramped and sore with each page turn until finally finding it. “Where’s Asuka Miyazaki?” Kazuki’s head shot up so fast I thought he’s broken it, face painted in horror, “the roof!”
We both dashed up the towering flight of stairs at breakneck speed, as I lagged behind with each tripping over my own half tied shoes; letting Kazuki rush passed me like lightning up several flights, bursting through the door. Before I could take another step to join him I froze, taking a deep breath, smelling something... off. I couldn’t quite place it for a moment trying to find the right words. BO? Sewer Water? Burned-out matches? My blood ran freezing cold upon realizing the smell, rotten eggs. Methane gas. That son of a bitch is gonna blow the whole Ward sky high! My body took over before my mind could, bare feet leaping down each landing and step, feeling my ankle twist and snap once jumping onto the ground floor. I bit my lip, fighting back the grueling pain and urge to curse with each step towards the emergency alarm. I need to keep going. If I can pull it the alarm the sprinklers should help rid any gas or flames. One more, I screamed at myself, just one more-
The moment my fingers brushed against the alarm the building came to life with overwhelming heat and flame, I pulled the alarm just seconds later though it did nothing against the rapidly growing inferno. The following explosions’ shockwave hurled me through the lab walls like a freshly sharpened knife to paper; before I was slammed into something hard, knocking the wind out of me before crashing to the ground. Desperately I gasped for air, feeling my broken ribs stab into my lungs with each breath. My right eye struggled to keep open and see through my mask, my vision blurred and distorted with each moment. The only sound I heard was the deafening ringing in my ears as summoning any remaining strength to flip over to my chest; my ribs further stabbing into my lungs. I outstretched my right arm attempting to pull myself up, seeing the deep gashes littered with shards of glass and rubble bleed profusely onto the ground. The sight itself nearly made me vomit. As the ringing in my ears cleared I heard the muffled sound of breaking glass and footsteps come closer before stopping near me. I craned my head painfully towards the sound, only to find myself peering down the barrel of a gun I’d never dreamed of being on the other end of.
Angos’ gun. Cocked and loaded, his finger itching to pull the trigger and end my life right there. I could feel his harsh glare on me, reflecting all of the pent up emotions he’d been harboring for months: rage, frustration, loathing, murder, all shooting through his veins. A moment of suffocating tension mixed in the air with smoke and iron. “Who are you?” Ango asked, pure venom dripping from each word uncharacteristically, it was terrifying. His sharp glare burning into my skin hotter than the flames around us, the feeling of defeat finally creeping into my broken bones. As if on cue, the white theater mask covering my face feel onto the rubble littered ground like a loud clattered, exposing my bloodied and bruised face.
Ango’s eyes widened in disbelief, his once steady hand holding the gun now beginning to shake as his mind tried to piece together what he was seeing. His lover—the one he trusted more than anyone else—and the two drug lords he’d been hunting. They can’t be the same, they couldn’t be. I could see he didn’t want to believe it, it’s not possible, I’ve been so loving, so kind, there’s no way she would never be apart of this. But he couldn’t deny it, with each moment that passed the more I saw the gears in his head click. Every unanswered question, botched raid, failed trap, all of the missing pieces coming together. My unexpected errand runs, late nights out, surprise visits to Hiroshi, no, The Jesters place. It lined up perfectly. But there was still one question he wanted to know, need to know. “Why?” he spoke, voice barely above a whisper, salty tears threatened to run down his cheeks, an expression of unfathomable hurt and betrayal painting his face. Before he could speak another word, my head fell against the cement ground, vision fading to black as I steadily suffocated on my blood. With my final breath, I choked out the answer...
“For... him... For... Kazu...ki”

Right kind of wrong – Part 10

Pairing: Alpha!Dean x Omega!Reader, Alpha!Sam x Omega!Reader, Bobby Singer, Azaziel, OFC Mary, OMC John jr.
Warnings: angst, kidnapping, ABO dynamics, suffering Omega, characters death, Jake, demons, daddy!Sam, daddy!Dean, fluff, implied smut, pregnant reader
Right kind of wrong Masterlist
“We need to find him, Dean.” You sniffle holding tight onto your Alpha for dear life. Some hours ago, Dean and Sam wanted to get something to eat and now Sam is gone and you can’t feel him anymore.
“Can you still not feel him?” Bobby asks.
“No…” You choke out.
“He’s somewhere, I know it, Omega. Don’t worry we will find Sammy in no time.” Dean lies not knowing how to soothe you. His head suddenly hurts, and he sees a bell with a tree on it…a large bell.
“Dean?” You scream panicked as Dean is close to passing out. Rubbing his forehead, he groans and doubles over.
“Boy, what’s wrong?”
“I don’t know, Bobby, I saw an old town and a bell with something on it.” Dean pants and Bobby looks at him concerned.
“What was that?”
“I don’t know. A headache?”
“Do you get headaches like that a lot? Like Sam?” Bobby asks and Dean scoffs.
“I don’t have visions…” Dean loses track of what he wanted to say as he falls against the car in pain. He sees another image, this time of Sam.
“Dean? Dean!” You gasp kneeling beside your Alpha, trying to make him look at you.
“Are you okay?” Bobby asks.
“Yeah, I think so. I saw Sam. I saw him, Bobby.”
“A vision then?” You ask. Most of the time you avoided talking about Sam’s visions, about the things he saw.”
“What else did you see?”
“Uh… there was this bell again. Like a big bell with some kind of engraving on it…” Dean pants trying to get back up. “Damn, now I know what Sammy was talking about. Sucks having visions.”
“Engraving?”
“Yeah.”
“Was it a tree? Like, an oak tree?” Bobby asks and Dean nods. “Exactly.”
“I know where Sam is. Cold Oak, South Dakota. We should hurry then. Get your weapons ready. I suggest Y/N has one this time too. We don’t know who or rather what will wait for us.” Bobby says.
“The yellow-eyed demon, I guess.” You whisper. “Having John’s soul was not enough.”
“Omega…” Dean whispers remembering the fight after he got to know you knew about John and his sacrifice to save him.
“We need to stop him but we do not have the colt…”
“Get in the car, we will find a way. First of all, we are going to save Sammy, after that we will move on.” Dean mutters opening the door to the passenger seat for you. “I swear we will find your Alpha, Y/N,” Dean says softer this time.
“I can’t lose him, Dean.” You sniffle. “I almost lost you and it killed me. I can lose Sam…please.”
“We won’t lose him.”
—-
Sam is running, he can’t kill Jake so he needs to hide, needs to get away from him before he kills Jake as the yellow-eyed bastard wants him to.
He can hear a familiar noise and then he sees Dean and Bobby running toward him. A smile on his face he hears his brother calling for him.
“Sam!”
Dean and Bobby approaching, with flashlights, towards him. They walk toward each other, in the rain.
“Dean!” Sam sighs relieved not seeing Jake running after him a knife in his hand. He tries to lunge at Sam, to stab him but a gunshot catches his attention before he feels the bullet piercing his heart, dropping the knife Jake falls to the ground.
“Y/N,” Dean gasps rushing toward you, catching your falls as you start shaking. “I killed him…” You choke out, dropping the gun. “I killed a man.”
“He would’ve killed Sammy, Omega. Shhh…you did well. That bastard wanted to kill your Alpha.” Dean whispers rocking you back and forth in his arms.
“Sam…” You gasp holding out your hand as he kneels to move his arms around your trembling body.
“She needs you,” Dean says and Sam scoops you into his arms as you hold tight onto him, trembling in his arms. “Alpha…”
“I’m here, you saved me, Y/N. We should get out of here. He brought us here, to kill each other till only one is left.” Sam explains and Dean looks at Jake.
“Guess this makes you the winner.” Dean shrugs and Sam nods. Rain is soaking your clothes, just like Sam’s. Your body starts shaking even more, due to the rain and you press your body close to Sam’s warm chest.
“I’ve missed you, Alpha.” You whisper and Sam’s heart aches. The whole time he only thought of you and Dean. He never imagined you would miss him as much as you would’ve missed Dean.
“She didn’t stop yearning for you. Y/N needs you. Get in the backseat and hold her for a while. She needs to feel her Alpha.”
Your eyes drift toward Jake who lies on the ground, dead…bleeding. Your stomach churns but you know he would’ve killed your Alpha. There’s a moment of peace as Sam is holding you in his arms before you see him, the monster taking you Alpha away from you.
The monster killing John…
“I’m disappointed and surprised at the same time. You did not kill Jake, but he almost took you away from me. I wish I could’ve seen his surprised face as a little Omega killed the strong Alpha.” Yellow eyes chuckles. “I must admit you found a nice Omega. Sharing it with your brother is not worth a leader.” He’s circling Sam and you can feel the tension in your Alpha’s body as the demon tries to touch your cheek.
“Hands off my mate!” Sam warns and the demon chuckles.
“I only wanted to see why she is that special to you and Dean. I guess she’s one nice piece of meat. I want you to keep her, not like Jess. You need the motivation to fight. How about that…” Snapping his fingers the demon cuts your air supply off. Choking you claw at Sam’s shirt, close to passing out.
“Stop! Why are you doing this?” Sam gasps as the demon smirks at him.
“Your nice little Omega killed Jake. You are the only one left. I will give you a key and you will open a lock for me. Till then I will keep her.” The demon snickers, snapping his fingers once again and you are gone.
“Where is she, bastard!” Dean yells storming toward the enemy.
“Stay or I will kill her. You can go with Sammy, Dean. He will open the door and Y/N will return, safe and sound. Don’t worry, I’m a man of my word. Ask your daddy or your mommy.” The demon chuckles handing Sam the colt.
“What keeps me from killing you right now?” Sam spats aiming the colt toward yellow eyes head.
“Y/N will die the moment you pull the trigger, son.” He chuckles.
“If you hurt her or if you touch her, I’ll kill you…” Sam snarls and Dean puff his chest. “We are going to rip you and every demon into pieces,” Dean adds.
“Ah, ah…not as long as I’ve got your sweet little Omega. Go to Wyoming. Use the colt and open the door for me, or she will not just die, she will suffer like no one before.” The demon says handing Sam a map. “You’ve got three hours before I start hurting her…”
The demon vanishes and Sam falls to his knees, looking up at his older brother he starts crying.
“My fault…again…” Sam whispers as Dean grabs his arm, shaking his head. “No, his fault. Now get your shit together, our Omega needs us. We will open whatever he wants us to open and then we will kill that bastard.”
—-
“Here we are, now let her go!” Sam growls seeing the demon holding your arm in a tight grip, making you wince in pain.
“You will open the door on the cemetery first. After that, I’ll let her go.” The demon smirks not intending on letting you go.
“Fine.” Sam scoffs nodding at Dean who follows him as Bobby hides behind the Impala, ready to attack the demon. The old hunter only prays the spell he used to hide him from every demon will work so he can save you before Sam opens the gate to hell.
“Hurry up. I’m losing my patience.”
“Ready if you are,” Sam says smirking at the demon as Bobby attacks him with a knife, dunked in salt and holy water. Driving the knife deep into the yellow-eyed demons back Bobby smirks as he let go of you.
Dean is grabbing your wrist dragging you away as the demon tries to get hold of you but it’s too late. Sam is aiming the colt, firing the remaining bullet, killing the demon in an instant.
“That was for mom, dad and every single child you fed with your blood,” Sam pants, dropping the colt to move his arms around you.
“I guess he’s off our list.” Dean gasps, picking the colt up. “What now?”
“Sam is glancing at you and then at his brother. “Now we are going to plan our future without demons, hunting and killing things…”
—-
Around 5 years later…
“Daddy look at the picture Mary drew.” Your son squeals showing his father the latest picture his sister drew for her father.
“Daddy is proud of you, Mary,” Sam says smiling wildly at his daughter.
“My son drew the Impala. Look at it, Sammy.” Dean chuckles showing Sam the picture his son drew hours ago.
“That’s not a car…” Sam chuckles. “Looks like a turtle on wheels.”
Dean shrugs, glancing at the picture once again he shakes his head. “Nope. That’s the Impala. Have a closer look.” The Alpha insists and you shake your head.
“Guys…Alphas. Can you lift this? I would do it but being six months pregnant with twins makes it way harder to carry heavy stuff.” You mutter pointing toward the box full of toys.
“I’m on it, Omega.” Dean stammers grabbing the box to carry it back into John jr. room.
“How was work, Sammy?” You ask seeing your Alpha’s tired eyes.
“Work was work. I’ve missed you and the pups,” Sam whines kneeling to plant a soft kiss to your huge belly.
“You saw me and them this morning and during lunch, Alpha.” Smiling you move your fingers through his shaggy hair.
“Is he whining once again?” Dean chuckles looking at his brother kissing your swollen stomach.
“Your workshop is right behind the house. You can see her all day long.” Sam mutters glaring at his big brother.
“Dude, your office is about twenty minutes away. She brought you lunch and according to her status of dressing you did more than eating lunch.” Dean teases knowing about the lack of underwear.
“Uh…” Sam clears his throat trying to hide all the dirty things he did to you in his office. “I was just checking on her…”
“Don’t lie, Sammy. Her underwear was missing and one of the straps of her dress was ripped off. Damn, she smelled like you and I had to take her to the showers and take care of the problem.” Dean mutters giving his brother a dirty grin.
“You too? I thought I wore her out.” Sam says glancing at you.
“What? I’ve got two hot and potent Alphas. I’m pregnant and high on hormones, nothing wrong with wanting you both all the time.” You shrug.
Dean is nodding, giving you a bright smile. “No, nothing wrong, cause it’s the right kind of wrong…”

Yama no Kami 山の神
Rated G/T ~2.6k words McHanzo Chapter 7: All That Matters
However tired he feels, Jesse can't manage to sleep. But Hanzo knows more than his fair share about sleepless nights.
There’s a pain in my chest that hasn’t left since I met him. There’s a hole growing inside of me and I can feel the edge calling and calling and calling. I barely remember anything. I don’t even know who I am. Was there ever a Jesse McCree? Was he a man? Did I steal his place? Or did I make him up? Why did I forget everything? A god can have anything, right? Why would I - why did I - give that all up? There’s something I can’t remember and it’s eating me up from the inside out. I can feel it in my bones. And more than that I can feel the yearning to just...forget again. To go back to my blissful ignorance. To be the rogue Jesse McCree again, no home, no family, no memories to hold him back, to make him pause. But...can I really say I want that? After this? After him? He’s...nothing I ever imagined. Not even in the fanciest tale I could spin. He’s done things to be ashamed of. But haven’t I? Even if I can’t remember...I know I have. I’ve never gone to confession...no priest would have the time for a list of my sins. There’s something eating me up inside and I’m afraid if I don’t figure it out, it’ll claw its way straight out of my chest. I just-
“Still awake?”
Jesse jumped, cramming the journal he’d been writing in beneath the cushion he’d been sitting on.
“Yeah...I...”
“Couldn’t sleep? “
“No. I couldn’t.”
“God problems,” Hanzo said with a half-smile. “Once your brain catches on, sleep gets harder to come by. You don’t tire out the same way you used to. Things that should exhaust you don’t anymore. Days and nights pass but you close your eyes and nothing happens.”
“When’s the last time you slept?”
“Really slept? I don’t know. Sometimes you get pulled into the realm of gods, and it seems like sleep. To anyone looking at your body, you would seem asleep at least. But it isn’t rest. Not truly.”
“You don’t get tired?”
“Not physically, not unless you’ve been injured or spent too much of your power too quickly.”
“But mentally?”
“Every day. Time passes differently when you lose no hours to the vastness of your own subconscious. I don’t keep calendars or clocks. They lost their meaning a long, long time ago.”
“Do you miss it? Sleep I mean?”
“I miss dreams of happier things. But when I do sleep, those rarely come. No, there’s far too many memories in this mind for happy dreams. I used to try to sleep. When I was younger. But just trying to force myself into sleep became exhausting in itself, and it never worked anyway.”
“That sounds...horrible.”
“Being a god isn’t just about power. You have responsibilities. You have duties that must be fulfilled. If someone prays to you in earnest, if someone begs you for help, what sort of god would you be if you were caught sleeping? A minute may mean nothing to you. A day might feel the same as a blink of an eye. But to them, to humans with their fragile lives, a minute may be the difference between life and death.”
Jesse glanced away. The pain in his chest only seemed to grow. He swallowed.
“Fear is natural. There is no shame in it.”
“It’s not...that,” Jesse said after a long pause. “It’s just...one minute I’m Jesse McCree, the next I’m...this.”
“You are still Jesse McCree.”
“But am I really?”
“Of course you are. Just as I am still Hanzo Shimada. The life you lived before your awakening is no less real than it was when it was all you knew.”
“But I was living a lie!”
“Were you? Did it feel like a lie to you? Did you distrust your actions, your beliefs?”
“I don’t...know.”
“Whatever happened that made you choose the life you’ve lived, that life was real. All of the things you did, they happened, and you were a part of them. Whoever Jesse McCree is, that is you.”
“But what about all the shit I’ve forgotten?”
“We are not defined by our past, though it shapes us. What defines us is who we choose to be, what we choose to do. If we entangle ourselves too much in the past, we lose sight of where we are now, and where we want to go.”
“How long have you been a god?”
“Too long by some standards. Hardly long enough by others.”
“What’s that mean?”
“Some would say I have had this soul for too long, that it is time to allow it to pass on, that I should choose honourably to fade. Others would say I have not served sufficient penance for the deeds I committed in my former life.”
“But what about your own standards?”
“Longer than I ever would have lived as a human. If I had children, I would have outlived them, and their children, and theirs. But sometimes it feels like only a day has passed since I gave up mortality for this life.”
“And if this is all real, then I’ve lived even longer?”
“Longer by far.”
“It’s hard to even...think about.”
“If I said you would get used to it, I would be lying.”
Jesse closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He ran a hand through his hair as he exhaled and looked back at Hanzo. The ache in his chest was nearly matched now by the ache in his head. Everything felt like too much, and still he felt like he was grasping none of it.
“Would you like another cup of tea? Or something stronger?”
“Don’t s’pose you have any whiskey, do you?”
“Only sake I’m afraid.”
“Good enough for me.”
Hanzo smiled and nodded his head. He turned back toward the door, motioned for Jesse to follow, and headed back toward the kitchen. It felt strange to have someone else in his home. It had been so long since he last had company. But it was nice too. The house felt warmer, more comfortable even. It was hard to explain.
In the kitchen, there was a small table and a single chair. He offered it to Jesse with a gesture as he crossed to the fridge. It was nearly empty, but there were a few different bottles of sake. He picked the fullest of them and nudged the fridge shut with his foot as he turned to the cabinets to get out two cups.
“No need to dirty any glasses. I mean - I don’t mind sharin’ from the bottle if it saves on doin’ dishes later.”
Hanzo chuckled but turned back to Jesse. He blinked in surprise as he caught sight of the man sitting on the edge of the table.
“I didn’t wanna steal your only chair, but I didn’t feel like standin’ either,” Jesse explained easily.
“I didn’t think I could be surprised after as long as I have lived. And yet here you are.”
“Here I am,” Jesse said with a grin, “and there you are with a fine drink to share. So you should get over here too. I’m mighty thirsty.”
It felt safer to slip back into his usual casual confidence. It felt safer to let his fears and questions fade into the recesses of his mind. It was easier to think only about this moment. Perhaps this was what Hanzo meant when he spoke of not dwelling on the past. Jesse could only hope that it would always be this easy to set his anxieties aside. Hanzo closed the distance between them and offered Jesse the bottle. He took a quick gulp and sighed before handing it back.
“Can I ask you somethin’, Han?”
“Go ahead.”
“You…said you get nightmares. Are they…are they ever things you don’t remember? I fall asleep sometimes and everything’s crystal clear - it’s so familiar, like it’s a memory but...But I can’t recognise the people or the places but I just know that it’s all real - or it was anyway.”
“When you have existed for such a long time, memories and dreams are two threads in the same cloth. Sometimes they are woven together so tightly it’s impossible to know which is the truth.”
“What do you do then? When they’re that tangled up...How do you tell the difference?”
“Does it matter?”
“What? Of course it-”
“Jesse,” Hanzo’s hand settled over Jesse’s, steady and warm, “I can’t begin to imagine how many memories are contained within your soul. Dreams, realities - They both come from somewhere. All that matters is what you take from them.”
“Is this how it’s going to be now?”
“Hm?”
“If I’m really a god, am I just gonna...keep having nightmares - I mean when I can actually fall asleep? Will I get all my memories back? Is that even...possible? If I’m as old as you think I am...”
Hanzo sighed.
“I am afraid I don’t have answers for you. I have had little experience with such situations. Although I believe it would be difficult to find any accustomed to a case as unusual as yours. It is not frequently that an old god reawakens.”
“S’pose you’re right. I’m pretty remarkable.”
Hanzo laughed, soft but genuine, and the sound of it warmed Jesse through to his core. He did not know what would come. He did not know what the approaching dawn - or any dawns following it - would bring him, or where they might leave him. He did not know what he might remember, and he tried not to fear all that he had forgotten. But he realised for the first time in he couldn’t remember how long he was not facing the morning alone.
“Y’know,” Jesse murmured after a moment, “I really can’t believe they all think you’re a demon. Maybe you’ve got some rough edges but...well who doesn’t these days?”
“Maybe it’s just how many years have past since they last heard from me. Time has a way of smoothing edges, but they still know me for a life I have not lived in ages. I was not always so happy to live quietly in the mountain’s shadow. I was a god. I wanted my rites kept. There were good reasons to fear my forest and my wolves. I was never...”
Hanzo looked away, trailing off and letting his hand slip from where it rested on Jesse’s, and he took a deep sip from the sake bottle. He closed his eyes for a moment and tried to decide just how much vulnerability he could dare to show. Though he could not say why, he trusted Jesse.
“You should know why they call me a demon. It was...so long ago now. The village was growing rapidly. Each year, they’d extend their fields and draw closer to the forest’s edge. The more people there were, the more houses they needed. They needed more supplies for construction, and where better to look than here. At first, they were cautious. They would offer gifts before they cut down any tree. But they needed more lumber, and quickly. They  hired outsiders to begin clearing out a whole section of the forest nearest to the edge. I couldn’t allow them to desecrate this place, to take so much of what was not theirs.
I killed them. And the ones who escaped my arrows were taken by the wolves. Only one was spared - the young priest charged with tending to my shrine. But he saw it all. He saw his beloved god bathe the forest floor in blood. He was not the same when he returned to town. His faith was shaken. They left my forest alone after that. They left me alone after that.”
“You were only protecting your home.”
“Is any home worth so many lives? I can still see them in my dreams. I hear the screams, the desperate cries for mercy. But I showed them none.”
“You’re not a demon,” Jesse said, slowly, quietly. “A demon wouldn’t feel remorse. A demon wouldn’t try so hard to change my mind. Whatever you’ve done, whatever has happened, you aren’t a bad person, Hanzo. I won’t believe that. You’ve had plenty of chances to kill me, or even just to scare me off. But all you’ve done is help me. You brought me to your shrine, you…showed me what I am. You told me yourself, the past doesn’t define us. I don’t know who you may have been years ago, but I know who you choose to be now. You aren’t heartless at all.”
Hanzo’s fingers curled into a fist as he stared at the table. Jesse chewed on his lip, unsure of what to do. The silence between them grew.
“People really get the whole godhood thing all wrong, huh?” Jesse finally said after several long moments. “They think it’s all superpowers and immortality. I mean, I’m sure that shit’s part of it, but...it’s a lot more than that, isn’t it? I’ve barely dipped my toes into it and I’m already questioning my entire existence. They don’t tell you about that in comic books.”
“I have never met anyone like you, Jesse McCree.”
“I’m gonna choose to take that as a good thing.” “You should,” Hanzo murmured.
He set the sake bottle down on the table beside Jesse, and before reason could creep into his mind, the space between them had vanished. Hanzo’s hand was on Jesse’s stubbled cheek and his lips were on Jesse’s and all thoughts of anything besides this precise moment were irrelevant and far, far away. He almost pulled back when reason began returning to him, but then he felt Jesse’s arm wrapping around his waist and nothing mattered beyond this kiss. He wished it could last forever, if only so he could never feel the absence of it, but eventually he needed a breath just to steady the spinning in his head.
“You sure you didn’t break into the sake before me?” Jesse murmured, breathless and smiling.
“I’m sor-”
“Don’t even think about apologising, Han. That’s the best I felt since I wandered into this forest. Everything’s been so...weird and out of control and...surreal but...That? That felt real. That felt...perfect.”
“Are you sure you didn’t break into the sake before me?”
“I’m tryin’ to be sweet or somethin’, Han! Don’t be rude!”
Hanzo chuckled, and Jesse joined him. Jesse’s arm was still warm where it curled around Hanzo’s waist. Hanzo’s fingertips were still warm where they cradled Jesse’s cheek. And despite everything, despite fears and anxieties, everything was perfect, even if only for a minute. The warmth between them was plenty enough to chase away the cold loneliness that lived in their chests.
“We should lay down,” Jesse said slowly, almost unwilling to break the stillness. “I think the sake’s gone right to my head, and I think...I might be able to get some sleep if I have...company. Don’t get me wrong- I’m not...suggestin’ anything too forward I just...I think I’d like some company and-”
“You don’t need to explain. I understand. I think...I would be able to sleep as well with you nearby. I feel...safer with you.”
Neither of them needed to say any more. Neither of them felt like they should say any more. So Hanzo slowly pulled back, and returned the sake bottle to the fridge. And by the time he returned to the table, Jesse had stood up. He interlaced their fingers, and let Hanzo lead the way to his bedroom. They laid down beside each other, and Jesse pulled Hanzo into his chest.
“Sweet dreams, Han.”
“Sweet dreams, Jesse.”

Fictober Day 12: “Who could do this?”
Rating: Mature
Fandom: Overwatch
Characters: Jesse McCree, Lena Oxton, Zenyatta, Doomfist, Hanzo Shimada, Winston, Angela Ziegler
Warnings: Mentions of injuries and death, canon-typical violence, mild language, implied McHanzo
Words: 1536
There isn’t much that Jesse’s seen that’s bothered him. From his time in Deadlock to Blackwatch, he’s seen injuries, death from his hand and by someone else’s. The time he lost his arm ranks pretty high, because seeing the remnants of your arm on the ground is traumatic, to say the least.
And then there’s this.
Bodies litter the ground. Human and omnic alike, the attack was indiscriminate, but most definitely deliberate. A trio of bombs in this human-omnic safe zone in London went off, and initial reports linked it to a revived Null Sector, looking to recreate the Kings Row uprising to coincide with the ten year anniversary. There was no real proof other than the group had mentioned it once in a dossier, but there was something about it that wasn’t quite right. It was too dirty, there was no follow up from the group. Surely if they wanted to start another uprising they’d be in the streets, marching to Downing Street or something.
It set Jesse on edge, and he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
“Em’s okay,” Lena breathes as she approaches, hand over her heart. “Was at home at the time. I hate that she works so close to here, though.”
“She got some time off coming up?”
“Yeah, the shop’s gonna be closed for the next week at least, in memory…” Lena trails off, scans the area and Jesse sees her go paler than she already is.
“Should ask Winston if she could stay for the week,” Jesse says as he wraps an arm around her shoulders. “I’m sure he wouldn’t mind, and honestly it’ll be a load off my mind knowin’ she’s safe.”
“Yeah,” Lena replies, her voice barely a whisper. She looks down, holds her left hand out as she presumably looks at her wedding band and nods. “Yeah, that’s not a bad idea.” She then glances to her right and Jesse follows her gaze, seeing Zenyatta approaching. “Hey, Zen, how are you doing?”
“A triage tent has been set up for the injured,” Zenyatta responds. “Dr. Ziegler and I are doing the best we can while ambulances try to make their way into the area.” He stops beside Lena and looks at the covered bodies. “Is this everyone?”
“Not sure,” Jesse replies. “Can’t get into the stores, too badly damaged and I don’t want to send anyone in there without the professionals.” He glances at Zenyatta. “There’s no sound coming from there, though, so I would say we got all the injured.”
“Very well,” Zenyatta responds. “I will check in with Winston and Genji, from what I am hearing this was not Null Sector.”
“Didn’t think so,” Jesse says. “Got any other leads?”
“None yet.”
“A’ight,” Jesse breathes, nodding. “Check in with Winston, I’ll check in with Hanzo’s team, see where those guys are at. Meet in fifteen?”
“Until then,” Zenyatta responds, turning away.
Jesse looks down at Lena, gives her a little shake. “You all right?”
“I can’t believe, ten years later, we’re here again,” she answers, voice barely a whisper. “If not Null Sector, then who? Who could do this?”
Jesse shakes his head and takes a breath. “Don’—”
“The fact that you have to ask yourself that is a testament to Overwatch’s limited resources.”
Spinning around, Jesse’s hand flies to Peacekeeper sitting in her holster as his eyes settle on the hooded figure. What he can see though, is that damned gauntlet. “Talon,” Jesse spits. “Should’ve figured it was you.”
“But why?!” Lena cries, taking a step towards Doomfist. “Haven’t you done enough here?!”
“We have barely scratched the surface of what we have planned,” Doomfist boasts, lowering his hood. “But I implore you, find proof it was us.”
“You make it sound like a challenge,” Jesse says, stalling for time. He’s hoping someone from one of the other teams will come by, try to check in, anything which can alert them to Doomfist being here. And if Doomfist’s here, odds are the rest of them are, too. That very thought sets him on edge. “Unless,” Jesse says, bringing a hand up to his chin, rubbing it in thought in an attempt to not show his true fear, “you want us to waste our time looking for evidence which isn’t there, ‘cause you’re riding the coattails of someone else.”
“Look, don’t look,” Doomfist says, not taking Jesse’s bait. “Doesn’t matter in the end. We’ve accomplished what we want here.”
“And that is?” Jesse asks. “Creating more human-omnic tension? Throwing the world into conflict? Please, it’s a failed method scaling back hundreds of years. It does nothing but unites the majority.”
“But what of the minority?” Doomfist counters. “We will succeed where others have failed. This is only the beginning, I assure you.”
“Uh-huh.” Jesse tightens his grip on Peacekeeper. “And what’s stoppin’ me from putting a bullet between your eyes, right here, right now?”
“I was warned that you were the violent one, Mr. McCree,” Doomfist chuckles. “She will be very pleased to know she was right.”
It takes all of Jesse’s willpower not to take that bait. “That don’t answer my question,” he says as he levels Peacekeeper at Doomfist.
“Do you think I would physically come here?” Doomfist scoffs. “You’re worse off than I’d originally thought. You might have some strength, brute force, but the intelligence is clearly lacking.”
“I’ve heard enough!” Lena growls, aiming her pistols at him. “Taunt all you want, it won’t change the fact that we’ll be breathing down your necks!”
Doomfist merely chuckles, waves his hand, then disappears into hundreds of purple hexagons.
“Hologram,” Jesse grunts.
“I fucking hate it when they do that,” Lena admonishes. She sighs, holsters her pistols. “I’m going to check in with Angela and Zen, see if I can catch Winston on his call. I think it might be worth checking in with Hanzo’s team, letting them know what’s happened.”
“Good idea,” Jesse breathes, plucking his comm from his pocket. He waits for Lena to walk away before opening a channel to Hanzo, chewing on his lip as he waits for him to answer.
“Hanzo here.” There is a pause, and Jesse can hear the smirk on his voice as he says, “And you are five minutes late for our scheduled meeting time.”
“Yeah, sorry about that, got tied up. You see anything out of the ordinary on your end?”
“Nothing. Damage here is minimal, and the bridge is almost complete. Ambulances should be able to cross the river in approximately ten minutes.”
“That’s great news, sweetheart.”
“What is wrong.”
“Just had a visit from Doomfist—”
“Did you apprehend him?”
“Would’ve loved to, but he wasn’t physically here. Was a hologram. Went on about how this was Talon, how they’ve barely ‘scratched the surface’ of their plan,” Jesse scoffs, kicks at a piece of debris on the ground, watching it bounce into a damaged car.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” Jesse breathes. “Counting down the minutes till I’m seein’ your smiling face.”
“Stop.”
Jesse smirks; he can practically see Hanzo’s eye roll, and can definitely hear the smirk on his voice. “Never.”
“You should probably check in with Winston,” Hanzo says, bringing him back to reality. Mission first, flirting later.
“Yeah,” Jesse replies, scuffing his foot on the ground. “You stay safe out there.”
“You too. Hanzo out.”
Jesse stares at the carnage in front of him one final time before heading towards Angie’s tent. He repeats Doomfist’s words in his mind, and while a part of him wants to brush it off as Talon being grandiose, he can’t shake the feeling that this is the start of something bigger.
When he reaches the tent, Angie, Zen and Lena are around a tablet set up, Winston projecting back.
“Jesse,” Winston says as Jesse enters the frame. “Lena told me you checked in with Hanzo’s team.”
“Yep. Nothing on their end. He said the bridge should be up and running in ten, then we can start getting the injured out of here.”
“Good news. Lena also filled me in on your discussion with Doomfist. What are your thoughts?”
“I definitely believe him when he says they’ve got bigger plans,” Jesse breathes. “As for right now, I think they’ve done all they’ve planned. I don’t imagine us being in any real danger today, not if Doomfist himself isn’t here.”
“You’re probably right,” Winston murmurs, looking away for a moment before looking back. “Keep an eye on things there, report in if anything else happens. But I believe you are correct in your assessment Jesse, that they have done what they wanted to do here.”
“No problems, boss,” Jesse breathes. “See you in a few.”
“Winston out.”
The screen goes blank, and Athena’s logo displays on the front. “Angie?”
“Everyone here is stabilised and ready for transport,” she responds.
“Good,” Jesse breathes. “Zen?”
“The same for the injured omnics.”
“Good. Let’s get these folks outta here, help authorities in any way we can.” He exhales noisily, looks at Lena. “Lena, you and me will greet the ambulances that make it across the bridge, tell ‘em where to go.”
“Got it.”
“A’ight, we got a good few hours of work ahead of us. Let’s go, people.”

One Shot 26
@rejection-isnt-failure
Promt Yes yes yes yes. I've read this so many times my friend. High school aus are amazing, especially when cheerleading and other sports are concerned!! Amazing!! Can you continue doing this type of au? ❤❤ Ooooh. Could we also maybe have a prequel, where Beca gets up the nerve to ask Chloe out?! Ie. Where Beca first sees Chloe and makes an idiot out of herself because she has a crush, but maybe Chloe has a bf on the basketball team, which is why she initially tries out before finding out she's really good at it... and Chloe finds herself charmed by Beca's attempts to talk to her... One Shot 26:
Beca is nervously pacing in the locker-room. She had told the rest of the girls to go and warm up and that she would join them in a minute. She has been thinking of telling Chloe about her feelings for her but the fear of losing her forever kind of puts a hold on that. The redhead had been one of her best friends since they were little kids and her feelings had grown over the years and she always pushed them down. But she couldn’t do it anymore, she has to tell her.
The brunette is so deep in thought that she doesn’t hear the door open nor does she see Aubrey and Stacie walk in. “Beca? Are you alright?” Stacie’s voice sounds worried as she watches her tiny friend freeze in shock. “W-what are you doing here?” Aubrey rolls her eyes in annoyance. “We came looking for you when the team ran in but you weren’t with them. Chloe got worried.” At the mention of the redhead’s name Beca tenses. “What’s going on? Why are you being so weird?”
Beca mumbles something inaudible. “Ok, what did you just say? I didn’t get that.” The short brunette takes a deep breath before answering Aubrey’s question. “I like Chloe, like I like-like her.” Beca cringes at how weird and pathetic that just sounded. “Freaking finally!” Stacie shouts throwing her hands up. “What are you still doing here? Go and tell her.” Aubrey adds pointing at the door. “You really think I should?” The two girls roll their eyes. “I swear to god Mitchell, if you don’t go out there and tell her how you feel I’m going to kick your ass.”
“Relax Posen, I want to tell her but I also want to do something special?” The longer she talks the more insecure she gets. “What were you thinking about doing?” Stacie asks genuinely interested. “If I want this to work I’ll need help and I mean all the cheerleaders, I’ll talk to the team and maybe we can make it happen during the finals.” Aubrey nods. “Of course we’ll help you out with whatever you need.”
Beca puts up a nervous smile. “Relax Mitchell, she’ll say yes. Trust us.” Aubrey nods in affirmation before pushing the two brunette’s out of the locker-room. “Let’s go, we need to get to practice. And you need to train your team so we can claim another victory this year.”
The three girls walk into the gym. Aubrey and Stacie slam into Beca when she suddenly stops. “What the hell?” Stacie wants to shake the tiny captain but stops when she sees what Beca is looking at. They are watching Chloe getting hit on by Tom. He’s a senior and it was no secret that the older guy had a crush on their redheaded friend. And apparently he said something funny and Chloe is laughing out loud. The girls watch as the tall basketball player leans in and kisses Chloe on her cheek. The two cheerleaders watch as Beca tenses up right before their eyes. “Beca-“
“I’m fine… I’ll be alright.” Beca shakes her head. “Team huddle up!” Beca runs off towards her co-captain Jesse and ignores everything else around her. “Bree, please tell me that everything Chloe told you about Beca was real because if any of it was a joke I’m not sure… I’m not sure how this is going to end well.” Aubrey looks at her girlfriend, then at her best friend and then at Beca. “Chloe has always had feelings for Beca, and right now I’m going to talk some sense into our cheer captain.”
Stacie watches Aubrey walk over to Chloe. The tall brunette looks over to Beca and their eyes meet. Stacie waves her over. Beca hesitates for a brief moment but decides to join her best friend anyway. “Before you get mad or walk away please hear me out.” Beca rolls her eyes but waits for the speech she knows will come. “I have an idea, at the finals game during halftime we can plan something huge for you to ask Chloe out. She won’t be able to say no.”
“And what do you suppose we do huh? By the time we do it it’ll be too late.” Stacie groans. “Have some faith, we’ll get the teams together today after school and plan the perfect surprise.” Beca lets out a sigh. “Fine but how do we get Chloe away from the team?” Stacie smirks. “Leave that to me.” Just at that moment Jesse runs up to them. “Talking about a perfect opportunity… Hey Jesse, I need a favor.”
Stacie quickly explains the situation and Jesse and the co-captain grin at his tiny friend. “Sure, no problem, anything for my favorite girls.” Beca hits Jesse against his shoulder. “Alright lets go we have teams to train… Thank you for everything you guys.” The three high-five and Stacie quickly joins the rest of the girls. So all
Both basketball teams and the cheerleaders are sitting outside on the grass. Well, everyone except for Chloe, Jesse and Tom. “So if I get this straight you want us to get all of this ready by the finals in 2 weeks?” One of the cheerleaders asks incredulously. “If we all pitch in we can make it work.” Aubrey says. “Well, I guess it’s the least we can do for our amazing captains and friends.” A girl from the basketball teams says with a little whoop at the end.
Beca chuckles at the cheers following. “Hey what are you guys cheering about?” Chloe’s bubbly voice finds its way to the group. “Chloe… uhm-uhm-uhm…” Beca is starting to panicking and everyone is starting to notice so they try to help out by shouting anything that springs to mind.
“Nothing”
“You”
“Just talking”
“Love”
“Memories”
“The game”
Before it can get out of hand Aubrey shushes the group. “What they are trying to say is… we were talking about how amazing the final is going to be in two weeks.” Chloe raises her brow in confusion. “Uhm are you all ok? You’re acting weird.” Beca jumps up with a slightly forced laugh. “Whaaaat? Nooo,” Aubrey rolls her eyes at the high pitched brunette waving her arms around. “everything is fine, right guys?”
Chloe laughs at the brunette’s antics. “Relax, I believe you Becs.” Beca awkwardly scratches the back of her neck. “I don’t know about you guys but I need to study for a test so I’m going home.” One by one the others follow Stacie’s lead and slowly the only people left are Beca, Chloe, Jesse and Tom. “Hey Chlo do you want to go and study together?” Tom asks with an unusually large smirk. Beca’s face falls and she prepares for the hard sting that’s going to follow when Chloe accepts.
“Actually Beca and I always study for our tests together and I am having some trouble with math and she knows how to explain things to me.” Beca tries to stifle a laugh when she picks up Tom’s scowl. “I mean only if that’s ok with you?” Chloe turns around to face the brunette with a soft smile. “Of course, I would never let you down.”
Not in a million year Beca could ever say no to the adorableness that’s Chloe Beale. “Great, can we go get some take out on our way? My parents are out tonight and we have no food.” Beca quickly agrees and takes Chloe’s bag from her because she always does. All Chloe can do is smile and peck Beca on the cheek because arguing about it is a lost cause.

2 WEEKS LATER
The game is about to start and Beca is freaking out internally. She’s going over the plays with the rest of the team. “Alright, we’re going to rock this. BHS Bulldogs on 3… ONE-TWO-BULDOGS WHOE WHOE WHOE!” The team gets cheered on even more by their awesome cheer squad. That’s the last push the team needs before running out on the field.
The game has been really intense since the very beginning. The score is tight until the break when the opponents knock Beca down so they can steal the ball when the buzzer sounds. The team quickly makes their way towards their captain on the floor. “Are you ok?” One of the girls asks slightly panicked. “I’m fine but that was a dirty trick.” The brunette grunts when she gets up. “Hey I don’t want to be a spoilsport but if you want to get that surprise going you should get ready.”
“Oh shoot yeah you’re right.” Beca makes her way to the side line so she can give Aubrey and Stacie a sign. They get the clue and take Chloe down while Beca makes her way to the manager who is totally in on the plan. Music starts playing and the whole field gets extremely quiet. Chloe is just confused, she recognizes the song because it’s one of her favorites.
Her heart stops for a moment when she hears the sweet voice that can only belong to one person. The person she has been crushing on forever. The one person she couldn’t live without. “Beca?”
I wanna follow where she goes I think about her and she knows it I wanna let her take control 'Cause everytime that she gets close, yeah
She pulls me in enough to keep me guessing And maybe I should stop and start confessing Confessing, yeah
Beca makes herself fully visible so she can really see Chloe’s reaction to everything. The girls from the cheer squad make their way down and start dancing to the beat.
Oh, I've been shaking I love it when you go crazy You take all my inhibitions Baby, there's nothing holding me back You take me places that tear up my reputation Manipulate my decisions Baby, there's nothing holding me back There's nothing holding me back There's nothing holding me back
She says that she's never afraid Just picture everybody naked She really doesn't like to wait Not really into hesitation
Pulls me in enough to keep me guessing And maybe I should stop and start confessing Confessing, yeah
The boys from the other Barden University Basketball team run out and join is as best as they can.
Oh, I've been shaking I love it when you go crazy You take all my inhibitions Baby, there's nothing holding me back You take me places that tear up my reputation Manipulate my decisions Baby, there's nothing holding me back There's nothing holding me back
Beca is standing on the middle of a perfectly formed circle while Aubrey and Stacie lead Chloe toward her. The redhead is gently crying with a huge smile plastered on her face.
'Cause if we lost our minds and we took it way too far I know we'd be alright, I know we would be alright If you were by my side and we stumbled in the dark I know we'd be alright, I know we would be alright 'Cause if we lost our minds and we took it way too far But I know we'd be alright, I know we would be alright If you were by my side and we stumbled in the dark I know we'd be alright, I know we would be alright
Chloe has no idea when the girls had broken the circle – who would blame her, she’s mesmerized by the most amazing girl in the world – to come back with huge boards with the words ‘WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME?’ being spelled out.
Oh, I've been shaking I love it when you go crazy You take all my inhibitions Baby, there's nothing holding me back You take me places that tear up my reputation Manipulate my decisions Baby, there's nothing holding me back There's nothing holding me back I feel so free when you're with me, baby Baby, there's nothing holding me back
The song ends and Beca sheepishly smiles at the redhead before her. She drops her arm that’s holding the microphone. “Sooooo,” Beca drags out awkwardly. “I guess the signs kind of speak for me but… Chloe Anne Beale will you go out on a date with me?”
Chloe stays extremely quiet and Beca starts panicking. The brunette takes a few steps back preparing herself to bolt if Chloe turns her down. Aubrey and Stacie see this happening so step up and stop her. “Chloe?” Aubrey questions her best friend. “Beca I-I would be honored…” the redhead runs forward and leaps into the brunette’s arms, wrapping her arms around her neck to pull her in for a long, tight hug. The field erupts in loud cheers and the girls break apart with huge smiles.
The announcer clears his throat hesitantly. “I’m really sorry folks, I hate to interrupt this wonderful moment but we have a game to play.” Beca looks up to the booth and waves at the guy to show him it’s ok. Chloe pecks Beca on the lips whispering “Go win this game.”
With a new found boost Beca pumps her fist up. “Let’s go team.” The teams all go to their initial places. The basketball girls on the field, the basketball boys sitting on the bleachers and the cheerleaders making their way to the side to cheer even louder for their team.
-,-,-,-,-
30 seconds left on the clock and the score is 99 – 98 and the BHS Bulldogs are losing by one point. Beca is open wide and gets passed the ball.
15 seconds left on the clock. The brunette still has to get to the other side of the field but it’s going to be a very tight stretch.
8 seconds left on the clock. She decides to make a run for it but the opposing team does not make it easy for her.
3 seconds left, Beca’s far behind the three point line and the shot is risky and maybe too far away. Now or never… Beca takes the risk, and shoots.
2 seconds… the ball travels through the air.
1 seconds… the ball hits the ring.
The buzzer sounds the end of the game but no one makes a sound, no one even dares to take a breath. The ball goes around the ring once… twice… thr-
Beca’s world freezes and she doesn’t hear the loud cheers erupting from the crowd. She gets crushed by her team and the rest of the high school teams. They won only 2 points difference but they still won. The brunette gets lifted up by the boys. Chloe is beaming right up to her. Beca taps the boys on their shoulders to let her down which they quickly comply to.
The brunette gets tapped on her shoulder before she can reach Chloe. She turns around and is being offered the cup by the team captain of the opposing team. “Great game you guys are amazing opponents.”  She takes the cup and holds out her hand so the two captains can shake on it. “Not so bad yourself can’t wait to see what you have in store next year.” The two girls part with smiles and no hard feelings.
Beca finally gets to turn around to face the redhead she’s been waiting to hug. “Hey…” Chloe looks down at her shoes, looking extremely adorable. “Hey…” Beca chuckles. Stacie rolls her eyes and can’t take it. “Oh for crying out loud Beca, just  kiss her already.” Beca cups Chloe’s cheek to make her look up, straight into her eyes searching for a sign from the girl that she might not want to be kissed. But luckily her smile only grows wider. They both lean in to press their lips against the other’s.
It feels like thousands for butterflies just escaped their bodies and fireworks are being lit around them. They thought it something like this would only happen in movies but boy were they wrong. They don’t want to break apart but have too, seeing that they’re still surrounded by way too many people.
Life couldn’t get sweeter for our two high school basketball and cheerleading captains. And it would only get better.

What exactly constitutes as “oversharing” on social media? We can all pretty much agree that things like posting nudes, and sharing each other’s dirty laundry counts as part of the “oversharing” category. However, even though we all may agree, we need to consider the whole group of people that confessed to crimes they committed on their social media accounts. You may not think too much about logging out of your personal profiles and online accounts, but if you are one of the following criminals, you’ve just left the door wide open and full of evidence. The people featured in this story not only prove to us that not all criminals are the smartest crayons in the box, but also that social media, while fun to be on, gives you no sort of privacy whatsoever. Even though the majority of us are well aware that anything we post on the Internet is now part of the immense web, free for all to see, some of the people in this world just haven’t got a clue. Whether you think it’s cool to siphon gas from a police car, or you’re trying to brag about how many identities you’ve stolen, you might want to think about keeping that news under wraps if you even want a shred of hope of getting away with it. One more rule, if you think you are “getting away” with whatever crime you committed, keep those thoughts to yourself until you are dead and gone. Only after you’re dead can you really say that you truly got away with it.
#1 Troy Maye & Tiwanna Thomason – Caught Over A Steak You may not think much about it as you upload a delicious snapshot of tonight’s dinner to your Instagram account along with the hashtag “food porn,” but for some, like Troy, that post was the thing that got him arrested. Back in 2013, Troy Maye and his then-girlfriend, Tiwanna Thomason were in a restaurant called YOLO in Harlem, New York. What they didn’t know as they bragged about the 700,000 stolen identities they had for sale was that they were giving information to a person who was working undercover with the IRS. Just two days later, the pair agreed to meet with the agent at Morton’s Steakhouse for the sale of 50,000 stolen identities. Although Troy had promised 50,000 stolen names, birth dates, and socials he came up short; really short. When authorities investigated the drive, they found out it only contained the identities of 46 people, along with a name, “Troy Maye.” After calling Troy out, Troy responded that he wanted insurance that he would see the money from the fraudulently filed income tax returns before handing over the rest of the identities. Together with the drive, law enforcement used the picture of steak and mac and cheese that Nathaniel “Troy” Maye had uploaded to his Instagram account to pin him to the deal at Morton’s and both him and Tiwanna were arrested.
#2 Whitney Beall – Periscoping Her DUI Driving while drunk is a horrible idea, we all know the reasons why. Driving drunk and recording yourself driving drunk is an even worse idea, and we didn’t think that could be possible but then Whitney Beall proved us wrong with her Periscope video. In the video she, obviously drunk, is appearing to handle a moving vehicle, in slurred words she says that she’s, “Driving home drunk. Entertainment please.” After a viewer tipped of Florida authorities, they were on their way to catch her. Not only did she smell of alcohol but she failed several sobriety field tests before she was taken into police custody. To top it off, she threw up in the back of the cop car on the way to the police station.
#3 Rodney Knight Jr. – Always Time For A Selfie Back in 2011, Rodney Knight Jr. broke into the house of Washington Post journalist Marc Fisher and made off with more than some money and electronics; he got a prison sentence as well. When Rodney broke in through the basement, he stole a winter coat, $400, and two laptops among a few other things. After Rodney tried on the winter jacket and found the money, he decided to take and upload a picture to Facebook from one of the stolen laptops, the one that belonged to Marc Fisher’s son. Unknowingly or not, the picture of the robber was uploaded to young Fisher’s Facebook account which was then used by authorities to hunt down and catch Knight.
#4 Markesha Wilkerson – Livestreaming At Chuck E. Cheese Markesha was just out enjoying herself one afternoon at a local Chuck E. Cheese restaurant and decided to share the moment, as many of us do, using Facebook’s “Live” feature. Unfortunately, Miss Wilkerson along with appearing to have a good time, also had more than a couple of warrants out for her arrest. Because she had to let the world know that she was at Chuck E. Cheese, she ended up having her day cut short when the local authorities showed up to arrest her.
#5 Rashia Wilson – Queen Of Tax Fraud The self-named “Queen of IRS Tax Fraud” landed herself in hot water after taking to Facebook to brag about how much of a boss she is, well, was. In her post, she goes on to say that she is a “millionaire for the record,” and that indicting her won’t be easy. She also claims that she had the Tampa Police Department under her control. They proved her wrong when they found her insane spending habits and crazed remarks enough to investigate. She, along with others performing income tax fraud, were arrested at the conclusion of the investigation dubbed “Operation Rain Maker” which was given its name because of how suspects were “making it rain” before they were caught.
#6 Charles Rodriguez – An Ill-Planned Vacation Photo Charles Rodriguez stole two cases of jewels from a man outside of Manchester, England in 2011. After he stole the $130,000 worth of gems, he fled the United Kingdom for Colombia. The British authorities may have known where he went, but since the two countries didn’t have an extraction agreement, they had to sit tight for a few years. They didn’t have to wait forever before Charles decided to take a vacation in Britain where he took photos of himself and uploaded them to his Facebook. Those photos alerted the police force that he was back in town and after he tried giving border control a false name, his fingerprints were tested and revealed his true identity and he was taken into custody.
#7 The Reddit Confessor – Just A Nerd A guy who was known to the Reddit world as “Naratto” has since been deemed a jokester even though he once took the Internet’s front page and the rest of the world by storm. One day he made a meme with the “confession bear” that read: “My sister had an abusive meth-addicted boyfriend. I killed him with his own drugs while he was unconscious and they ruled it as an overdose.” Big words, even for a confession bear. Not only did the feed get tons of comments, but one Reddit reader tipped off the authorities to the murder confession. Later, Naratto’s sister commented online that she nor her brother knows of anyone who has overdosed, that her brother was just a gamer nerd and that the whole thing was a stupid prank to get more attention online. Naratto later came forward and admitted the same.
#8 Jonathan G. Parker – Don’t Check Facebook At A Crime Scene Just like the criminal in #14, this guy also has a problem with breaking into someone’s house and posting to the social media site, Facebook. Jonathan G. Parker broke into a house and stole two diamond rings but not before he chose to take a seat and log into his personal profile. After the owner of the house noticed that someone other than herself was logged into Facebook on her laptop, she immediately took it to police. Since Jonathan didn’t have a good reason as to why he was logged into this woman’s computer, he was taken to jail. It never pays to stop mid-crime to update your social media accounts.
#9 Jesse Hippolite – Looking For Partner In Crime… On Facebook When looking for a literal partner in crime, we would think one would lean towards Craigslist for their more shady endeavors, not a place like Facebook. However, contrary to what we thought, Jesse Hippolite must have deemed it a great idea to take to the social media website and just 45 minutes before he held up a Chase Bank, he posted “I Gotta Get That $$$$$ Man!” before he apparently asked who would like to join. He also made the mistake of wearing the same logo sweatshirt he is seen wearing in other Facebook photos in other past heists he had done. All of which became more evidence against him.
#10 Hannah Sabata – Confessed In Viral Video Hannah is the teen that named herself the “Chick Bank Robber.” She’s also the girl who, after both stealing a car and robbing a bank, made a video about her best day ever and uploaded it to her YouTube account. She got away with $6,000 dollars before she made the video which featured her confession on subtitled boards while the band Green Day played in the background. They won’t be able to wake this girl up when September ends because she’s looking at serving 10 to 20 years for the best turned worst day of her life. Hannah literally handed over her confession when she uploaded that viral video.
#11 Michael Baker – Robbing A Cop Car? Time For A Pic! Michael Baker made a monumental mistake when he siphoned fuel from a police car. The supposed “joke” got even worse when he flipped the camera “the bird” when his girlfriend snapped the picture. If you are trying to be cool, defy the police, and actually get away with it, you should be more careful to not include your face along with a big goofy grin. Michael and his girlfriend later said that it was just a joke, but the Jenkins police officials failed to find the humor in it and they arrested him on charges of theft. It turns out that stealing from the police DOES get you in trouble, who would have thought.
#12 Michael Ruse – Talked About Case On Facebook When Michael Ruse beat up a friend’s dad, he thought he had gotten away with it. Unfortunately for him, he posted that exact thought on his Facebook profile while the court proceedings regarding the case were still in process. The post he made on Facebook was printed out and anonymously turned into the court prosecutors. With the new evidence in hand, Michael had no choice but to confess to his crimes. Even if you think that you got away with it, you should never, ever be dumb enough to post that thought where millions of people have access to it. Once it’s out in the internet world, there’s no getting it back.
#13 Corey Christian Adams – Looked For A Hitman This guy really takes the cake when it comes to dumb criminals. After a woman came forward with the accusations that Corey had raped her while she was intoxicated, he sought out a person that could handle the problem. And by that, we mean a hitman. Corey, angered at the accusations, went to Facebook to offer a deal of $500 for the “girls head.” Since murder is a pretty serious crime and all, we hope that he was just kidding about the $500, that’s not even enough to throw a shoe at someone let alone bury them six feet under. Prices on the Black Market may fluctuate through the years, but we’re sure that the pricing for killing is slightly steeper than that.
#14 Steve Stephens – Murder Video Uploaded To Facebook You may have heard of the name Steve Stephens from the news reports around the country that showed his face along with the crime he committed. An unlucky grandfather named Robert Godwin Sr. crossed his path and Stephens recorded himself walking up to Godwin before the two exchange a few words and Stephens puts a bullet in the poor man’s head. He then went on to post the video to Facebook. After leading police on a three-day chase, Steve committed suicide and the story ends there. Steve’s ex says that she has no idea what caused the rampage and that she would like to think of him as a “good person who did a bad thing.”
#15 Misty VanHorn – Sellings Kids For Bail Money This Oklahoma mother of two was trying to turn back time and send her babies back. Not really, but she was trying to sell them on Facebook for a measly $4,000. They say that you can’t put a price on a mother’s love, but it appears like Misty has found a number she was willing to settle on. It’s absolutely sick to think that someone would be willing to just hand over their children forever for just a few thousand dollars. After Misty had made her offer online, the person she made the offer to went to the authorities. The authorities, of course, arrested her and put her children in protective custody. It is said that she was trying to get the money so that she could bail out her boyfriend who was in jail during that time. Mother of the year right here.
#16 Brendon Miller – Dropped Your Baby? Time For A Status Update! If you are a parent that drops their infant on its head, the first thought any normal person would have would be to go to the emergency room at a hospital, where there are professionals. Brendon Miller made a different decision when he accidentally dropped an infant and then wrote about it on Facebook. Although the child did get taken to the hospital later, Brendon didn’t feel the need to share certain pieces of vital information with authorities. Because of the previous Facebook post where he confessed to dropping the kid on its head, police charged him with aggravated assault as well as endangering the welfare of a child. Anytime something serious happens to a child, or anyone for that matter, make sure that they get the proper treatment, no matter who’s fault it is.
