Remember a while ago, it was either a week ago or possible two months ago time has lost all meaning, I warned you about the gardening posts? Well, the time has come. You are all trapped here with my gardening efforts for the second year in a row and there is nothing you can do about it unless you blacklist it. (dharma gardens is the tag for blacklisting purposes)
So let’s get to it!
These are the seedlings I should have started in mid-March but didn’t get around to until April because it’s me but also I’m definitely ahead of where I was last year where I was just tossing seeds into dirt and hoping for the best.
From left to right we have: the single bell pepper that sprouted; tomatoes; cherry tomatoes that I need to thin; purple califlower. I’m very hopeful they survive long enough for me to actually transplant into the pots I have yet to decide on for them.
The other plants I did today: two sunflower, trying tiny pumpkins again as I failed at that last year, decorative gourds (ugly gourds of my own!), a single melon (I made tags and due to my terrible handwriting and the awkward angle I was writing at it looks like meth), and bushing cucumbers so hopefully I will avoid the vine shenanigans from last year. Also in the railing one there are green onions for my dad because he likes them.
And yes, I did save the lone lettuce plant.
I still have to plant my deck hybrid corn ( the Great Corn Experiment rides again!), lemon cucumbers and a regular cucumber, both will go in with the corn, lettuce and spinach, and a couple of flower seeds I picked up on a whim. I uh need to go buy a couple more bags of dirt.
And as a bonus look at this little succulent baby I bought because I was afraid no one else would love it enough to do so:
I’ve named her Little A’tuin for obvious reason.

Hello, dear! You've been visited by the random character question fairy! :D ~☆
What are your character's core beliefs about the world? About themselves? About the people around them? How do these beliefs shape their actions?
Hi!! Thank you for this!! 💚💚
Woo boy. Alright.
Navy was raised by upper middle class parents, so she has this weird sense of entitlement. She thinks the equivalent of "just work harder and you'll get there :))" in her world, before her abusive ex and subsequent jail time/military duty. After, her views completely change- she recognizes that "working your way up" really isn't a thing. She still hasn't dropped the whole "entitlement" thing, but she's way better than she used to be.
About herself? She never really thought highly of herself. Her parents pushed her to be the best she can be, and she took that to mean "the best", becoming a perfectionist, due to a miscommunication. She's hard on both herself and others, pushing them harder than necessary. Navy is definitely a pessimist, before and after everything.
She loves her team!! (These characters don't really have names atm, using colors instead)
Pink: thinks of her as her child- Pink reached out to her while she was serving in the military (pink's culture is way different than navy's! Military work is really important to her culture), about forming a team. Navy really doesn't like the idea of Pink fighting, because of her naivety, but stays by her side, in an attempt to protect her. (Pink is a far superior fighter than Navy is- navys just having a mom moment).
Yellow- really doesnt like them. Yellow is related to Navy's ex, and looks very much like him, so she avoids them as much as possible- Pink and White have tried desperately to get the two to work together effectively, but Navy keeps letting trauma control her and shuts them down. Yellow doesn't understand Navy's reactions, and avoids her like the plague. Eventually, the two become pals, but it takes a lot of work on Navy's side.
White- Has a huge crush on him. Her gaze almost always lands on him, and she attempts to protect him almost as much as Pink. Both white and navy are obvious to this, despite hanging out all the time. Pink and Yellow are both aware of this, and actively try to get them together (especially once Navy and Yellow grow closer as friends after Navy finally fucking gets therapy). The two of them make a great team, and are effectively the team's parents.
Lighting- trauma response time! Lighting is the reason she was put in jail, and tortured her by changing her magic. She freezes on sight, and Lighting always takes advantage of this to taunt or attack. Her reactions get better after therapy, but she's still absolutely terrified.
