The Yellowstone River has been contaminated by a train derailment, triggering water conservation warnings downstream.

Just an overcast day in the mountain west.
The first one is a sketch from my trip to the park near my place on the day before the floods really started getting bad. The park is on the Yellowstone River, so we went there to check out how high the water had gotten.
On our way home we saw a Western Tanager in the tree outside our place. I couldn't get a good picture of it, but I found some good reference images so I could do a study of one.

As a companion video to our first backpacking trip into Yellowstone National Park, we saw green rolling hills and rushing rivers that part of the early backpacking season. Along the way, we saw plenty of animal carcasses and bones under an unseasonably hot sun. We were also visited by a way too friendly black bear to round out our trip.
