Really fucked up that two ppl can care about each other and make their best efforts to communicate and still end up hurting each other so badly they cannot stand to be in the same room.
#my stuff#i feel soooo bad talking to my therapist about the same topics over multiple weeks#like i feel like they're sooo sick of it like damn can this bitch get Over It alreadyyyy#hi yes actually can we talk about the near catastrophic sense of betrayal and loss that has haunted my soul for over a month?#can we talk about how I overcompensate for other's possible feelings and emotions to desperately mask my terror at feeling out of control#can we talk about how even when I know ppl acted with logical reasons necessary for their situation it still hurt me?#and that this pain fills me up with so much anger and frustration that I'm powerless to put anywhere that won't hurt someone#so it just cooks me inside and makes me grind my teeth constantly for weeks#im so angry i did not deserve to be treated like this it's not fair and I have no capacity to fix it or control when it feels better#i just have to survive and wait until i forget about it and hope they don't decide to reach out and fuck it all up#cause i can see that happening#i'll finally be free of thinking about them and generally going about my day unbothered and they'll ask to get coffee or something#and I have no idea what I should do in that scenario. because I don't think we can be friends.#and you have not treated me with the compassion and warmth I treated you#i would want to say mean things. hurtful things. I would want to bite back for once.#and that's not me. that's not who I want to be.#i don't wanna see you. go away. don't talk to me if you're not going to make the pain go away.

mild rant, cause hotd TikTok is insufferable.
so I saw an edit, with the scene of Viserys on his death bed, calling Rhaenyra his only child...
Tumblr media
these were some of the comments...
how dense do people have to be to say this shit, as if the abuse/neglect Aegon, Helaena, Aemond (and Dearon) faced, is the reason they are the way that they are????
aegon turned to his cups so young because he had to face the fact that his father didn't love him, his mother had... complicated feelings towards him (he was her first, born of marital rape that destroyed her life and childhood, and she loved him no doubt, but part of her hated what he represented in her life. all of which is Viserys and Otto's fault). not to mention the abuse he faced from Viserys and Otto (focus on Otto, cause he did what he wanted, since Viserys wasn't around enough to thoroughly abuse his son himself and wouldn't punish Otto for doing so). his drinking and need to self destruct to escape a life he doesn't want, turned him into the destructive, drunken bastard he is.
aemond was permanently maimed, an injury that very well could have killed him or hindered him greatly in life, and was ignored by his father, who then supported such an obvious lie instead of protecting his own son (aka, treating the greens and the blacks as equals and not playing favorites, they're aren't asking for miracles they asking for bare minimum). he suffered so greatly and his father couldn't give less of a shit. so on top of everything else, he had this anger boiling in his chest for years and years, stoked by his father's willing negligence. not to mention the fear it cause his mother (who was being manipulated by Otto) that Rhaenyra truly was a threat to his livelihood, which only targeted his anger.
Helaena, on a direct/surface level, was the best off, in terms of her father, but the ripple effect he caused on her life and those around her caused her to be married to her brother, who she didn't love, who didn't live her, and brought her suffering to some degree. it was the war Viserys practically created (tell me he didn't, I dare you) that sent her to madness (amongst other things *ahem* blood and cheese).
like, this man destroyed his children, directly or not, everything he did broke them down and apart, until he died, leaving them with a war that would end them all. his actions made them (Aegon and Aemond) into the people they were, but of course, that doesn't matter, apparently.

"i feel like luffy knows right from the start who to fight." chopper gets it! the rest of the crew is waiting for him out on the bridge because they know this isn't their fight and all they can do is wait for their captain. the marines can't believe that this tiny group of pirates wiped out cp9 because this straw hat was a rookie, and the rest of the crew shouts out to him that they made it to the bridge, they got robin, and all he has left to do is kick lucci's ass and they can leave. and luffy smiles.

let's be clear that vaccines do not cause autism. obviously. but even if they somehow did (which they don't), like, who fucking cares. I would much rather have an autistic child who's less likely to die to polio than a non-autistic child who's at much higher risk of. that.

i think the reframing of girls disliking pink and other stereotypically feminine things as internalized misogyny that you should overcome by the time you're an adult woman is an immense feminist loss
#retrospectively...#and like i say: brf slt#like when you think about it. the needing to overcome it. that's crazy?😭 because in the end what are you ACTUALLY encouraging#do i think a lot of girls reject pink at some point growing up in part because it's associated with girls and girls and by extension things#associated with girls are seen as inferior yes...but i think that's kind of a superficial analysis? like maybe it's not just bc we hate#being girls it might also be because liking pink and whatever else is FORCED upon us. and pink itself isnt a big issue its a harmless color#but when you apply that logic to other big things women are encouraged to do...i dont KNOW but SOMEHOW we've come right back to women being#encouraged to like pink and makeup because if they don't they're antifeminists and 'not a girl's girl'? 😭#i want you to know that as i'm writing this i'm wearing a skirt and tights with hearts on them i dont even have a vested interest in people#thinking stereotypically feminine things like stereotypically feminine clothes are like bad#but yeah when you think like that about pink it's kind of whatever because yes pink/blue is the simplest most basic gender dichotomy#but its not like theres anything actually wrong with the color pink. but when you extend that to things like say shaving and makeup things#that cost women time and money......if you think any critique of that is misogynistic because a lot of women do it/because its things#only women do (almost)...you just have a problem with not just critical thinking but with thinking in general. it's just...very frustrating#and i've thought like this in the past i think it's kind of a step when you're getting into feminism and going hm...this is kind of fucked#up...but i think it's still very superficial and i guess it makes sense that it has a lot of appeal Because it's superficial?#but it's like if you don't think anything needs to change and if you think women who aren't following gender norms as much and who aren't#interested in ''''''reclaiming''''' femininity (bc it's literally just doing what's asked of us 24/7 from birth) are misogynistic for#it...like it's actually crazy you do realize that at the end of the day you're saying you should promote/praise gender roles#and if you disagree you hate women#like at least acknowledge that liking makeup and shaving your legs isn't just about personal taste and liking how smooth legs feel when#in your bed it drives me crazy when people refuse to acknowledge that i remember in high school i told my sister like if you were on a#deserted island would you like heels and she was like yes i would :) and i was like NO we had this conversation for years then she had#sociology classes in high school and she was like okay i see what you mean...like yeah of course you do because i'm right#of course people who think like that are like its about respecting everyone's choices!!!! but they're also very much saying stereotypically#feminine things is the best choice and i think it's so insidious to be expected to get over your distaste (like that's literally just.#what's expected of girls/women in general. not liking things when you're a kid is frowned upon but you're expected to grow out of it and if#you dont then it becomes a real issue) and not being allowed to CRITIQUE IT from a feminist lens is literally crazy like it makes me unwell#they're like um only women wear dresses/skirts why are you implying that pants are more practical and advocating for women to be able to#wear pants do you perhaps hate women especially women who are brave enough to embrace their inner traditional femininity?

I think someone here mentioned this before but one of the coolest things in hollow knight is how Isma's tear repels or neutralized acid around Ghost specially, as in any water within the liquid is remains so the knight can still swim in it but not get burned by acidic properties found in the pools and lakes
Isma's tears is doing some chemical stuff there the magical way~✨

it really is sad that Merrill doesn't fit in DA:I. she set up that entire game. she is so crucial. she is a keystone character of this series. but it honestly just does not work for her to join the Inquisition. at most she'll ally with them if they meet certain conditions but that's IT.
#OOC / HOLLY.#she wouldn't touch the Inquisition with a 30 ft pole and rubber gloves#she loves Varric and if the Inquisitor is elven esp Dalish she is more inclined to give them a chance#but just. the mere concept of the Inquisition. the whole thing. *nah*#like I see the appeal of arcane advisor AUs and I don’t disdain them or whatever#but there’s no way in hell she’s sharing her hard won knowledge of eluvians with this bargain bin Orlesian Chantry#‘but they’re not —‘ yes they are. look at me in the eyes. yes they are#the Chantry has stolen and destroyed enough she will not give them this#also the Inquisition didn’t know shit about eluvians until Morrigan brought hers#and she joined the Inquisition with ulterior motives#I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again that she makes the most sense in the position#is she the ideal choice? nah but she’s the only logical option within those circumstances#and the Inquisition didn’t even recruit her! the Orlesian court sent her with you like a loaded party favor!#and that storyline did have consequences for her and for us#so yeah it makes sense we got Morrigan#also while I like to point how scary the Inquisition is and how far they overreach and how it’s justified for people not to like them#I will also point out that they’re literally the only ones stepping up in this crisis and trying to help people#in the right hands they can be a force for great good#it’s jusy they can be a source for great evil in the wrong hands#just*

it really bothers me that like out of all the progressive coverage of the trans rights issues going on right now in the us, i have yet to hear people just acknowledge its impact on trans people without having to add on other people it could effect so that everyone will care

sometimes i get reminded of how utterly batshit the ds9 civvies were they're like arcade carpets at best and so many of them are purple for some reason AND YET i seem to recall that voyager's normal clothes weren't anything like that bizarre? they were a bit beige and also there was like that one waistcoat that chakotay owned that he was only allowed to wear if we were getting some sort of mutiny action that week. (related headcanon: he didn't mutiny in equinox because he didn't have time to go and change into that outfit so he was just like oh what the hell she can torture people if she wants i can't challenge her dressed like this its not even made of leather.)
so anyway that's why it never strikes me as especially weird that they all wear their uniforms even if it's like their day off because i've seen the alternatives and yeah i'd stick with the mostly-sensible-black space PJs too.

wld love to hear ur thoughts abt ur last post on true selves - @milkstore
It's really simple tbh? Basically people have this assumption that if they've never opened up to you, you can't ever know their "true face." They assume that the face that they show to the world is heavily divorced from their true self. Sure doesn't help when they act differently around different people, blah blah blah. To them, their masks are lies and their heart is truth. To be honest, I'm not sure I understand why these people think this way. Are not the different faces a person wears just different facets of their personality?
Regardless, I think because people operate under the assumption that the masks they show to the world aren't their true self, they assume they can't ever be known without their consent. It's a really ridiculous assumption tbh. It'd take a lot of conscious planning and decisions to truly create a persona that is completely unlike yourself. Like you'd literally have to be insane to do that.
In reality, people do not think much before making majority of their day to day decisions. Must you play a mental chess match to decide whether or not to greet your coworkers? Do you make conscious decisions to purchase food you dislike so nobody will know what you actually like? Do you have to physically and consciously move the muscles in your face to form a smile or a frown for every interaction? If these things do not take much conscious thought, then are you not acting true to your "true self?"
Then think about the things you consciously do or don't do. If someone disagrees with you but you don't argue back, does that not say something? If you tell jokes at work to get people to laugh, does that not reveal things? Even if these actions are not a part of your "true self," does not the fact you simply did them tell something about you?
This is just talking about actions. This doesn't even go into reactions. People assume that they are the best actors and can fool the world, but they are just fooling themselves. Initial reactions are hard to hide. True happiness and excitement is hard to fake. Feigned interest is quite easy to see. Stress, anger, and hurt are hard to gloss over. Are not emotions and the reasons for them very revealing for true selves?
And kinda going into my other post, you work from there. [Observation + observation] = intuitive observation. [Intuitive observation + intuitive observation] = mid-tier observation. Etc.
In my personal opinion, while intuitive observations are where the meat of everything is, that doesn't make simple observations less... intimate. For example, you observe a person doesn't eat many vegetables. You can rightfully assume they don't like vegetables. The very fact you noticed this means that you were paying attention to them. You know something about their true self.
#interactions#this post has a terrible ending but i ran out of points lol#but what i'm guessing is that people like this tend to assume that [thoughts/opinions = true self]#[reasonings = true self]#'i think therefore i am' sorta deal#they don't realize that by the way they act we can intuit what sort of thoughts and opinions they may have#not exactly i mean#but you can tell when you observe a person if they'll have logical opinions... emotional opinions... fake edgy opinions LOL#so in the end when they finally do open up nothing comes as a surprise because those thoughts match the person you know them to be#instead of being like 'wow that surprised me' it's more like 'yeah that makes sense lol'#getting a grip of a person's true self will take time (yes) but it's pretty easy once you've done it enough#and like.... i don't mean you take a deep dive into their psyche#but from first meeting you can tell the type of person they are#can you trust them? will they cause you issues? are they fun? will you possibly offend them? etc#everyone does this#if you want to get better though when you do get a general vibe of a person ask yourself 'why do i think this?'#'why don't i think i can trust them? why do i think i'd get along with them?' etc#at the same time though as i've said before put enough stock into your observations to protect yourself but also like...#not enough to the point you refuse to acknowledge evidence to support something else#always refine your observations and never ignore new information#always ask 'why'#ngl i have thoughts on nearly every single person i've met and am not afraid to share them but nobody ever returns the favor haha#bums me out a lot#i want someone to do an anon analysis for me HAHA

I’m imagining there’s an emergency ER healer at every major Aetherite on Etheris because of the mechanic where when you die from battle in the over world you return to your home Crystal. I imagine adventurers do that like in game but are decidedly not alive until they are revived by a healer.

... me suggesting Starscream was the youngest in a large royal family, yet the fact that in the tfp au carrying is super uncommon like conspiracy leveks of uncommon, leaves us with the interesting concept of how Vos might've worked... and if some of the more elite Cybertronians were allowed to bypass certain "restrictions" if they had enough hush money.
