now to the rambling!!!

for floyd i go off some HCs i have for her, like him having the adhd + autism + bpd combo, which makes him a very unstable fella. i also HC that the coral sea was Rough, principally where he comes from, so the circumstances werent at her favour and Boom, did system

some of his alters are sea-life based, but brainmade, with a ton of diff species! the others are based off songs she likes & characters she sees herself in/relates to! sometimes the characters resemble jade, too. theres only a few trauma holders, most are protectors or soothers, and some persecutors!

theyre like. that weird, big family down the street. they all like each other a lot but they looove to bicker and brawl and all of that. ALSO all of them Love jade too! they see him the same way they see floyd :D shes included in their weird family, floyd says shes an honorary member of his system!!

iii think his inner world would be like. a beach house! close to the sea and such, cause hes a mermaid but he also likes having legs. so beach house it is! its veey big and lively! i also think hed learn it after he comes to land, maybe in the middle of his freshman year, but he wasnt very affected by it. hes also very open about it he does not give two shits lol

for riddle... its canon that her childhood was shitty, ever since she was old enough to talk & walk, so its no wonder hes a system too lol. i hc her as autistic + bpd and that heavily influenciated the whole splitting too

she has some brainmades, mostly based on flowers & animals (ladybug & rabbit), But i also HC that she has some alters from an old novel she red while small ! one he loved soo much and his brain split the guys. i even have their roles (soother, protector, gatekeeper, and some others) but anyways! most of her alters are either from books or brainmade, and theres a shitton of trauma holders. she has like only 1 or 2 guys from songs cater showed her and Thats It. no more song guys lol

most of them are either very smart and prideful and all of that, or theyre sillay. very funny fellas, love having fun, but still smart as hell !

after her overblot he like. split three or five more in a week 😭😭 it sucked ass and he had an awful headache for days. + he was only made aware of her system After the overblot, during the recuperation week, bc the other alters went to check on her, and it was. Something. she told cater & trey right away and they helped her navigate it all, then she told adeuce duo too and some other few close friends!

i hc that her inner world is a big ass red white pink and black castke, in the middle of a very dense florest, with a maze and all. the fauna & flora are kinda diverse and all ! very pretty :]]

also i am. a big fan of florid..... and i think theyd start dating someday. and when they do. they turn into partner systems (if u dont know what it is lmk) and lots of other alters from their systems start dating too lol. they take turns to stay w their s/o.... theyre all so annoying and cute

i also think the human brain is super interesting.. i was wondering how traumatic events would effect merpeople/beastmen differently so it's interesting to see someone hc floyd as someone affected by his upbringing. i think there's a thin line of difference between what's considered normal/traumatic for humans and non humans (for example, jade being implied to eat his and floyds siblings is considered normal, but would the violence down there be?)

You enter the understated yet obviously expensive home theater in the basement of my palatial estate. I invite you to sit in the middle of the front row in a plush red seat. (Is that velvet? Yes, of course.) The lights dim as the projector mounted in the back of the room whirs to life. I silently lock the door. On the screen appears a 1,000 slide PowerPoint entitled “vampire fisting xD.”

As a horror fan/writer, I’ve always been the most obsessed with bodily extremity as a storytelling device, which is why Rice vampires are kind of like my ideal fanfic Barbie dolls. You can break all their parts off and they’ll put themselves back together in the morning. In my opinion, something like fisting would have such a different meaning to Rice vampires than it would for human beings. There’s a whole immortal body there full of nonfunctional guts to play with in a way that has to be fundamentally nonsexual (because Anne said dick don’t work for some reason even though the entire vampire body is full of constantly circulating blood which is what makes the dick work in the first place but I digress). A non-sexual fisting is almost like a stabbing. It’s worse than a stabbing for a vampire…I imagine “kinky stabbing” is like a cute Tuesday night activity for a being that gets pleasure almost exclusively from drinking blood. Fisting is liiiiiike going back to something vestigial and primitive and beneath these creatures whose entire deal is elevating themselves to this lofty status and crying at the opera and wearing bad yet undeniably fancy outfits. There’s a lot of tension between “high status” and “murder/the corpse/the animalistic predator” in VC and in fic specifically there’s a lot of tension between “high status” and “baser/more sexual nature,” but I guess I want a third and slightly nastier tension between “high status” and “death drive that demands the violation of basic bodily integrity.” There’s something so appealing to me about the loop of bodily destruction and reconfiguration that so many of the vamps go through canonically (and that I will make them go through for my own amusement) that can simulate a rebirth but can never really set anything right because it doesn’t and can’t change the core of their being.

Anyway thank you for giving me an excuse to talk about this. I hope it made any sense at all. You’ll get to read this fic in approximately six eternities because I write sooooo goddamn slow and will have to Google “pelvis” at least twelve more times.

hi! sorry to bother, but do you have any recs for getting into IR/IR theory? (sorry if uve already made a post like this i couldn't find one!!)

turns out i still have the slides saved from my first IR class in 2017 deep in my google drive so! let’s go.

in order to understand IR theory you’re gonna need to become familiar with the main schools of thought/theory so that you understand what assumptions more specific theories are making abt the international system. for example, if you’re reading realist arguments on nuclear proliferation, then you need to be reading them with acceptance of the assumption that states are the most important actors (a realist assumption). and with that:

realism

the prince - machiavelli: you don’t have to actually read this to understand realism, but it’s important to know the foundations of realism in history, and machiavelli is IT.

leviathan - thomas hobbs: literally do not read this, but read a summary of it somewhere. hobbs did a lot of the groundwork for realist theory on statehood and anarchy but this guy sucks and also a video game released in 2010 proved him wrong entirely.

the twenty years’ crisis - e. h. carr: dude was very important to the formation of classical realism, and was also one of the few realists to approach marxism with a somewhat positive opinion. he also wrote a history of the soviet union which is. one of the most interesting western perspectives on the subject.

man, the state, and war and theory of international politics - kenneth waltz: mr king shit himself. waltz is the father of neo-realism and for good reason. bitch had a lot to say. security scholars are obsessed with him. anyway that first book is really important because it establishes the ‘levels of analysis’ which is a very important concept to understand for when you get into things later like game theory.

the tragedy of great power politics - john mearsheimer: what a freak. this guy is responsible for the concept of offensive realism, which is different from waltz’s defensive realism. i still don’t entirely get it, and definitely don’t fuck with it.

liberalism

god i hate liberalism so fucking much. this is going to be so biased i’m sorry.

to perpetual peace - immanuel kant: don’t read this. just understand that kant ruined international relations for everyone. he put forward some ideas about the inherent peacefulness of democracies here and kickstarted a whole lot of imperialist dumbasses to form the democratic peace theory.

john locke: i can’t even recommend a specific book by this fuck because i literally do not care at all about him but like. he’s called the father of liberalism. he’s probably important for anarcho-capitalists and ayn rand but i could not give two shits.

robert keohane - after hegemony: neo-liberalism! slightly more tolerable than classical liberalism, because it focuses mostly on state cooperation and is less depressing about human nature than realism. less concerned with economic liberalism, more concerned with ......

robert keohane & joseph nye - interdependence in world politics: puts forward the idea that trade interdependence between states has become more important than military might due to coercive power.

constructivism

in comparison to realism and liberalism, constructivism is a BABY in the theory world of international relations, but it is so sexy.

world of our making - nicholas onuf: god i can not stress how much of a big deal it was for someone to come forward and be like “i actually don’t think the absence of a world government means we have an anarchic world system”. system level anarchy was just a given in IR at this stage, and other people had challenged it by talking about different kinds of anarchy but onuf was really like hmm. i wouldn’t call western dominance ‘anarchy’ but go off queens. 

social theory of international politics - alexander wendt: king. shit. YES the title is a direct reference to kenneth waltz’s book. i made a joke in an earlier post about how constructivism as a theory absolutely floored the international community and that was a joke but also 100% true. read this one!! read his article anarchy is what states make of it, read this interview with him!!

anyway marxism is a very important and valuable school of thought for international relations but it wasn’t taken seriously or even allowed for analysis until recently thanks to that ugly bitch mccarthy and general red scare propaganda but i strong recommend delving into critical theory and also reading the works of major communist leaders/thinkers and making your own judgements.

and this is a good start!! i can vouch for this youtube channel, i’ve used it before when studying or if i’m confused about something. VERY theory (specifically game theory) heavy. you’ll most likely find an area of IR that interests you when looking deeper at specific ideas or theories. as i’ve said before, i got really interested in security studies (particularly nuclear security) and MARXISM but that’s separate from my actual studies and more personal ideological preference. hope this helps!!

When I first met Zoey, which was abt 2 years ago, i thought that she was one of those ‘aesthetic’ girls who seemed chill enough. But once she told me that she liked natsuki from DDLC, i was like “OMG YOU ARE NOW ONE OF MY BESTIES” and she said “i like cupcakes getting stuffed down my throat” (she’s so iconic)

and being the weird-ass person i was back then, me and my friends did a DDLC rp thing in school and online. We literally had a whole gc called ‘the lit club’. My friend who was sayori didnt want to be added because they didn’t like gcs lmao

anyways, Zoey was natsuki and her crush, who was a dude and my friend, was Yuri. And y’all know natsuri…

um anyways

zoey was in my gym class and whenever i saw her, i was like “HEY IT’S THE GIRL FROM MY GYM CLASS!!! :D” and she’s like “yeah,,,ok”

and when i broke up with my gf (who is now one of my besties), she kept calling me traitor because she was part of the fan club of shipping me and my gf that some of our friends created. I broke up with my gf because after 5 months, i saw her as only a friend, and was crushing on someone else- (and i was gonna move in like June, and long distance relationships were tricky)

i dated my crush for a week and then didn’t like her anymore so uh yeah- I’m such a great person-

so then COVID came, after spring break.

zoey and i would literally spam the counseling google classroom page, because- yes- she talked a lot abt Steven universe and i talked abt DDLC, And the counselor deleted a post we responded to that was abt board games (our answers were not sane)

And i ended up not moving in June because COVID was reaaaaally bad.

i was going to move in October which meant i got to hang out with Zoey the upcoming school year :)

oh btw I didn’t go back into the building after spring break- COVID was hella bad in texas (where i lived b4)

So august comes, first day of school was a mess since the login to your email or whatever crashed and didn’t work until school had ended lmao

Project X Plan

lol its been like ages since my last post. ok not sure who will read this post but definitely he wouldnt. i hope my friends that in a 0.0000001% chance that might see this will keep it a secret too.  lol briefly read through my past posts and find it funny. ok shall start with me post.

i thought of writting it but then will need to start on a book but i lazy to write. ok so here it goes,.

on 7/7/2018, he proposed to me. it was epic coz was it rained heavily during the event. he got all my friends and his to help out, with tent in ecp, hand made roses, slides etc. it was all good, A for effort. i would have said “yes” if not for the rain lol. anw i said “okay”. but i told him to pass the “touching” part then i may say yes. anw we do went to resize the ring to a smaller size coz it was overly big, 57? when i am 47 -.- dunno why so much difference when i alrd given him a sample of my cheapo ring. seriously?!? anw managed to get 2nd free laser engraving lol if not ill be :(. ok so idk when he will do the (final) proposal again, but i think i will most probably say yes lol coz i dont have a choice? well of coz i do but then... lol it will be yes la. anw then i have this thinking, i can do better. eh! dont get me wrong wor lol it sounds bad. actually i mean if i were the one doing the proposal, i can do it better, then i tot, why must be the guy that propose, why girl have engagement ring while guys dont? why girl have to wear it and show that she is “taken” while guys can continue not wearing or can be seen as “single”? anw my point is gender equality yo! but i know it wouldnt be as we are biologically different, still i hope to make things slightly equal. and so... i tot of doing a counter proposal, aka i propose to him once he pass the touching part. maybe kiv the night before his bd or near the bd on a day which he has class. aft class maybe? ok or aft his bd also can (for anni also can) haha but well i may get lazy and not do anything, so i hope if u read this, pls keep it to yourself as i maybe 3 mins hot. so i googled abt men egagement ring coz i tot of getting it, but then damn ex lol at least 1k? ok cant be compared to the one he bought for me, but then sry i stingy. i will do a low budget but max effort for u too. and anw i saw blogs saying that men woldnt wear so much rings de, so no point getting it, which i agree upon too. if he were to wear a ring, then i rather it to be the wedding band. and anw menengagement ring is just slightly fancier than a wedding band. ok so i have recently ( yst night) set up a carousell acct with weird name coz i may be using it to trick and organise the whole plan. the rough plan is as such; get to know his class timetable, day time venue course. the event will be aft his class near his bd, hopefully will have a class a day before his bd, then nx day his bd can get leave. use carousell acct to meet up with him as a buyer in nus. ( i may want to get 1 helper to stalk him from afar, take photos of him and also make sure he follows the plan.. someone not suspicious and he doesnt know well...someone damn free and willing to help. hmmm (oh shit just “realised” that his bd is on mon)hmm or maybe can ask his friends to help aft his gym? or gym is fake de. hmm abit trouble his friends leh. i paiseh. ok we see how it goes, hope on his bd he got class lol. if not chage plan to sun ask his friends to help. oh yah, to be interest to buy a small item, so he woulndt bring a whole heavy item lol. although i tot buy book makes more “sense” coz i student.

plan X: say meet at outside (1st place)( the block) of the class venue (or nus conveient place) ( lets say 6.15pm if he no class). i can go over coz i study there stay at hall. then suddenly message him say meet at another nearby venue (less ppl) . ask him for a favor, say sth like do u see a book on that table?( and pencil box? lol so ppl will tot somone sit there study and will not clear it?) i think i left it there, was studying there then now left that place coz my friends looking for me, then i realised i lost the book (and pencil box). if its there can help me take and bring over to the new meet up place. (which is very near by, may be just around the corner). then at 2nd place, put a soya milk or sth, then message him say sorry got sth last min urgent issue, can meet 5 mins later, ask him help himself with the unopen drink coz i dont want it alrd but dont want waste it. sorry abt it , take it as i treat him a drink ask him wait for me for awhile. 5 mins later message again ask if got finish the drink coz once finish, he will see the hidden message (which i have think of. happy bd? happy anni? or 3rd place? or ask him open the book pg (a sig date/#) to see next hidden massage of 3rd place? idk yet) think by the time he will find the whole thing damn weird alrd, so at the 3rd and final place, it the real event. (hopefully a not so many ppl, quite dark place. (hmmm ok this is damn hard. or it can be on a no class day. coz if got class, very hard to prevent him from eating before lesson. or say i got a learning session at nuh (since last time also have) then ask to meet around 730 late dinner aft the talk at nuh. so he will wait and meet me for dinner. ok this sounds better. then the student buyer will still be same plan. ) so at final place there will be lights on the floor (<3?) maybe nearby can have table for me to put selfcooked dinner. then when he saw the lights, i walk out from hidden place (behind wall?) holding flowers or sth liddat and open a ring like box, inside not ring though, maybe muffin or sth practical as a gift to sub as a ring. ok. my plan sounds damn good lol.  but then i hope can do so in ntu coz i more familiar with ntu la. but ntu not practical unless he got sth there and i can make an excuse say to meet there. and ntu more meaningful for us. hmm.... or how to trick him go ntu like how he trick me go ecp? hmmmm. ok that will be for now. jaja
