modern steve harrington centric stranger things ( +steddie +ronance +byler) au :D

steve is disowned by his parents when he comes out as bisexual. he doesn’t know what to do so he crashes with robin for a couple of days before he decides that he can’t stay with her anymore.

he needs to find a place to stay, quickly. he asks around and finds out eddie has a spare room. he starts renting it with a bit of money he had saved up from working at scoops. he soon starts working at family video thanks to robin.

he finds another job at a lgbtq+ youth centre, helping teens like he wished he was helped when he was younger. he meets max, will and mike there.

max is his favorite. everybody knows that. she may be sarcastic as fuck, very hard to please and king of annoying, but steve has a special spot in his heart for her.

will is really nice and knows a lot about a lot of topics. he has a very interesting mind and opinions, and he is a good person to talk to.

mike is difficult. he doesn’t like sharing, isn’t good with communication and hates when steve tries to talk to ask him how he’s doing. steve understands that. he tries his best to help him.

steve then meets dustin, lucas and eleven. they hang out sometimes at the centre when will hosts his d&d campaigns. sometimes eddie swings by to play and hang out with steve. robin and nancy love reading with eleven and max, they have a little book club.

at that point, steve couldn’t be more grateful that his parents kicked him out. if they hadn’t, he wouldn’t have ever found this little family they had created. he wouldn’t have changed any of the things he had done in his past, and he wouldn’t trade anything for what he had now.
